Suds Hut in Helena

The atmosphere wasnt great, the service was even worse, and the food was mediocre at best. Our server was MIA for over 30 minutes, literally did not see her and its a small place. Another server did everything except take our order. Chicken was 3/5, but the potatoes were gross. It seemed like they were cooked in old, cheap oil.

We arrive to visit a cousin of mine in Helena Montana and my cousin took us to this place and the chicken is excellent the this place prepares it, anyway we a great time there.

Fun atmosphere and great food! The fries were amazing 😍. Would recommend.

Cold beer , the French fries we cold too. Staff was great and served fast..

Hot n fresh fried chicken! Yum! Also a great selection of beers. Mine was a nitro raspberry. Definitely recommend this bar and grill!

Whoa what happened here? Service and food have gone down hill big time. Thus the reason why Im changing my original 5 star review after 2 years to a 1star. Also you shouldnt need a steak knife to cut up chicken strips. Rude service, waiter screwed up our order then laughed about. Glad they thought it was funny, we sure didnt. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Kids could barely chew up there strips. Used to be a great place!!!!! What happened

Although we didnt have chicken which they are famous for - The food was great and the bartender was nice and engaging - beer super cold (is there any better wayIt didnt look big from the outside but appeared to look bigger on the inside? Rustic and I will definitely go back. We were early and it wasnt busy but it filled up fast (lunchtime)

The wings are very good and I had a Malibu chicken and it was awesome also the service was great

Lackluster chicken strips and fish and chips. Overpriced and small servings. Waitress was super nice and the bartender refilled my glass for me as well. 👍

The manager Dominic was a completely unapologetic, unforgiving and belligerent about our fried chicken being raw. It was takeout and upon arrival home saw it was raw. His response was we had to come in for a replacement. Never again!

Best double cheeseburger in Helena. Open later than most. Attentive staff. Cozy & friendly atmosphere. Spend $25 and theyll match your $5 buy-in on any casino game. Im only in town for some temporary work. Ive tried plenty of places, but I keep coming back to SudsHut.

Absolutely loved this place. We live in Great Falls so when we go to Helena we dine there. I crave their chicken. The server during the day, wish I remembered her name we have hadserve us several times now I think shes amazing great attitude no matter how busy she is, she didnt show it. Im in the same biz and those are true qualities of excellence!

The food was sooo good. The atmosphere wasnt really my thing. I dont like eating in the dark . But the food and service outweighs the dim lighting a million time over.

I stopped in kinda late around 938pm and I asked if I could still order some friend chicken. The answer was yes. The fried chicken was soooo good. I will definitely be back. Gambled a little as well. The food was great.

Absolutely love this little restaurant. It’s a bit crowded if you have a lot of people in at the same time but the BBQ Chicken Sandwich is a 10/10 every time.

We love this place! All but one of the servers are super attentive and friendly. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is always great, and the music isnt ever on the top 40s which makes the experience so much better as youre not listening to generic pop bs blasting the entirety of your stay.Really the only worthwhile place in Helena that isnt fast food, is affordable, and has AWESOME buffalo chicken and perfectly salted fries.

If you want chicken, this is the place to get it in Helena. They "broast" it, so it is rather different from fried. They are trying to bring back the atmosphere from old, but I miss the crackle of the logs in the firepit inside. The gas fire is nice, but the smell of wood and the occasional crackle and pop is missing. They recently added nice gaslight lanterns outside near the entrance.

The girl asked what we wanted and left the table without asking if we wanted anything besides water, then I had to call her over for our food, and drinks, then when she came she got orders wrong, She came back with drink and slammed drinks on our table and left right after that. Terrible customer service, coming from a person who has worked in that profession

Great service, good atmosphere and Ice cold beer. This place was full of laughs and good vibes. Had a good time, I definitely recommend it

Heard about this place from others and decided when we were here this weekend to pay a visit. First, the place has a casino too so its very busy. We lucked up and was seated pretty much immediately. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were run of the mill frozen onion rings, which you can buy in the supermarket. The little green salad was pretty much a bowl of lettuce and one single cherry tomato. The bleu cheese dressing was out of a packet. So far, so MEH. Almost 40 min later the chicken arrived. Their famous "broasted" chicken. Came with what they call jojos, which appear to be longways sliced potatoes which are fried. First, the chicken. It was tasty. Thats the extent of my description. From the folklore I guess I expected more. It wasnt horrible, it wasnt outstanding. It just...was. Now for the jojos. While they arrived in the basket with the chicken, the temps were way different. The jojos were barely warm. The chicken wasnt piping hot either but the jojos, they should be ashamed to serve that. So we can now say weve done Suds n Duds....oops wrong name, but kinda accurate. Come on Helena, you have to have something outstanding!!!

This is the best stop in Helena. We used the drive up after looking at the website menu. Great chicken and I loved it so much I will stop here every time Im in town.

Ive only been once sadly but I gotta say, this was THE BEST chicken I have ever had! I cant wait to go again! Baked beans were amazing. The jojos were obviously old but everything else made up for that.

So about a week ago, my grandfather and his wife placed an order and paid for it. They lived out-of town so I was tasked with picking it up to bring to their house. I didnt know that it was already paid for. I gave them the name, got the order, paid for it, and was off. When we opened the boxes, we had the complete wrong order! They only ordered fried chicken, baked beans and coleslaw. We had a burger, chicken strips, wings, and jojos. We didnt plan to complain because we were pretty far out of town and elected to make the best out of what we got.Then, Suds Hut called us! They realized we had not only had the wrong order, but paid for someone elses. They really tried to make it up to us but we arent really worried about it. We were visiting from Alabama, and my grandfather lives out beyond the valley. But we appreciate that they tried to make it up to us, and the burger was pretty tasty! I give them 5 stars for their integrity if nothing else.

The chicken is amazing. Ive had the burgers on occasion but I normally go for the chicken they are famous for. This last time I was early, 4 pm and their amazing chicken was even better than usual. Perfect cooking temp maybe? Not sure but wow.

My wife and I have always ordered the chicken dinner for the past 7 years and loved it every time. We tried their burgers for the first time. They are also great, especially with nach cheese added to it. The Cob salad is also a favorite of mine.

This places chicken is to die for and they have excellent friendly service. You order over the phone or at the window and they bring your food out to you at the pick up number you park at.

Amazing fried chicken, skin is deliciously crispy and the meat is soft and moist. Their Chicken Filet sandwich is one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had. Amazing mood lighting, kind service and just in general a worthwhile experience. Only thing that keeps it five stars is that their fries are unfortunately very gross. Wouldn’t be that big of a deal but nearly all entrees come with either jojos or fries, so it’s an extreme shame that they’re the worst part of the meal.

Good service. Broasted, I say broasted chicken, son. Crisp and juicy. Comfort food meets ice cold beer. And an atmosphere that says "come on in, relax and enjoy the night"You can see why its been around for so long.

Fantastic chicken and a wonderful place to meet friends for drinks. I have eaten here for years and have never had a bad meal. The chicken little light is a great way to eat only the white meat with a breast, a wing, jo jos and a salad. My go to meal and it is always amazing.

Ehhh.... I think all places are being challenged right now with finding good back of the house help. The food was comped- so I had a fantastic bar tender, but a poor kitchen experience. I love the ambiance, bought a cool hat and Im willing to give it a second try!!!

Stopped in to try their chicken and because I thought it was cheaper than what I found when I arrived (prices and menu has slightly changed, Ill include it below, but I couldnt get a good picture in the lighting). The chicken was very good, I got traditional wings with their gold sauce and side of fries. And while I usually appreciate when the wings are served heavily sauce, I wasnt huge fan of the gold. It just didnt have a great flavor that really stood out. Its fine but being coated so thick made it a little difficult to eat all of the wings. And I was glad I wasnt charged to have ranch with my wings, but I found that didnt complement the gold sauce very much. The fries were very good though and seasoned perfectly with a seasoned salt. Not a large draft selection, but looks like some very good options. I really enjoyed Geomans Gold. Found it very refreshing. And its served in a large, glass, chilled goblet. But $25 before tip for that meal was definitely more than I found it to be worth.The inside is nice though. The booths in the corner I sat in very comfortable. Tables a little small, but perfect for two people each. Staff was polite and friendly. There is also a small casino, which as far as that goes, the only reason I would consider hanging out in it is because they offer some decent deals for food and drink if you spend modest amounts and I think during specific hours you can get 3 free drinks per hour. So thatd be worth it if you enjoy playing on little variety of slot machines. There might be more, I didnt look very closely. Bathrooms were pretty nice and clean.

Im from Portland Oregon, flew in to see family and they took me here for dinner..Best fried chicken ever!! Service was wonderful.

We had some fried chicken, fries, and cheese curds from this place and it was delicious. Something about fried chicken that always does the trick when you have been drinking some bourbon. The chicken was very flavorful and the exterior batter was tasty. The fried cheese curds were also delicious, but went by quick.

Excellent service and very friendly staff.Sat at the bar and tried several of their beers on tap.Fun atmosphere with table seating and fireplace.Can get crowded so head early or call ahead.

Good chicken place. Kids menu. My kids had the Mac and cheese wedges. One loved them, one hated them. I had the chicken and JoJos. Very good JoJo. Chicken was pretty good too. Got pretty busy around noon when we were leaving.

Can’t beat this place. Such a great Montana feel. Of course their chicken is great, but the burgers are the best in Helena. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. Sometimes there can be a wait if you have a party of more than 2, but it’s rarely longer than 15-20 mins. Well worth the wait.

I finally went here! Heard about it for years now and have been seeing their food posts on Facebook! They lived up to everything I have been told and have seen. Service was great, drinks were cold, and food was top notch. My only complaint would be, it was uncomfortably hot inside there. However, the open pit fire was neat! I enjoyed the stained glass up and around the ceiling.
