Suda - Thai restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand
Recommended taste of food!Have better location but the food always grear. Try and check by yourself, expect you will also love it.
nice cheap restaurant close the main road of sukhumvit. the food was delicious but is quite often busy and the staff seems overwhelmed at times and misses out on the customers looking for assistance.
It is for tourists and as a tourist I really found it charming :red curry and cashew chicken were the best from what we had
Lovely no-frills place tucked away from the main Sukhumvit road. Food is delicious and not expensive.
Quite a busy local joint, apparently has some reputation as last street food joint in Asok. Menu is simple, easy to pick what to eat. Food was rather average to be honest, the best for us was somtam. Noodles were ok. Pork satay to skip. Prices are good. Service rather slow.
Perfect thai diner at the heart of the city. The seafood tom yum was perfectly flavoured, the pandan leaves fried chicken was amazing. All is good.
The shop is busy. I havent tasted the food yet but they look delicious. It is convenient and locates close to terminate 21. Unfortunately, my order is just to take away and it takes forever. Recommend sitting in.
A tourist introduction to Thai food and khaotom style restaurant. its been here for a long time and very popular on weekdays because its so close to the center. food and service is nice
Food was fast, delicious. Tom yam looks mean but not as spicy as it looks. And there was a generous amount of prawns.
No frills busy street food restaurant. The taste has been toned down and westernized. No bad though for first Thai dinner in Bangkok. 90% tourists.
Our first meal in Bangkok. Had minced pork rice, morning glory and beer. Easily one of the best minced pork rice I’ve had. Inexpensive and delicious.
Located at a small alley opposite Terminal 21 and just right below the Asok BTS ; you can indulge in this local Thai food restaurant with reasonable pricing. Food is pretty good with local taste. They do have English menuIt’s not air-conditioned so if need one this is not the place for you.Closes on SundayOpen till 11pm
Pretty decent place to grab a quick meal. Averaging from 70-100 baht per dish. A bit slow during lunch time. Also offers menu written in English
Forgot part of our order twice on two different visits. No apology. Didnt seem to care. Shame, because the food we did get was good.
I was hoping to have a really good experience after my hotel suggested I go here. Instead, as a non meat eater (pescatarianmy dinner turned up with lumps of chicken hidden in it. I advised the waitperson and all she could say was that she ordered only the shrimp from the kitchen. Not a great find for someone who doesn’t like chewing on bits of chicken and hasn’t for 30 years.
The pandan chicken was amazing but everything else was subpar. The crab fried rice was soggy and too peppery, the fried pork was not fresh, and the pad Thai was bland. The service was slow too as they were overwhelmed with clients. I would not recommend making a stop unless you are desperate.
One of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok. They make you feel at home. The Pandan Chicken is wonderful.
Thai food restaurant with many tables so it was very accommodating.Food in the restaurant was very nice and not to bad priced although was a bit more expensive than other restaurants. Many dishes to choose from and everything I ordered was lovely
I have been here several times and always enjoy this place a lot! No luxury for sure but good service and really excellent value for money. An old style gem in a very busy part of Bangkok.
Except for the starters like fried chicken in pandan leaf and maybe fried shrimp, spring rolls everything else seems pretty average. I had high expectations but this restaurant has let me down. Also I have heard they have dual priced menu for locals vs foreigners so that says a lot about them. Also even though in their menu they do not say that theres an additional price for fried egg but they charge 10 THB.I understand times are hard but honesty goes a long way in having repeat customers. bye for ever 👋
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious, authentic, and affordable Thai lunch. We shared the papaya salad. Then I ordered my usual favorite Thai dish which is Chicken fried rice with two fried eggs on top. My wife ordered a tasty Thai vegetable noodle soup. For beverages, I had a large cold bottle of Tiger beer and my wife had a giant fresh coconut. For desert we shared mango sticky rice. We plan to return before we depart Thailand. I recommend this restaurant. It is also very popular with the locals, so try and make it during non peak hours to ensure a good seat.
As good as always, not as cheap as it once was anymore, but true to its roots. A true gem with amazing food and the coldest beer or coconut. Good for lunch as well as dinner, offering a little bit of everything.I recommend the crab in egg and curry! It may look strange, but I promise it tastes amazing, and is one of the very traditional Thai dishes.
Authentic Thai food. Tucked away under the Asok BTS, across from Terminal 21. Flavourful, tasty food and very nice atmosphere, both for locals and tourists. Enjoyed the meal and time there (must have mango sticky rice after the meal).
Thai fried rice is very delicious hereI didnt expect itI found a good restaurant
Popular place for tourists, few locals. Service is quick and pad kana moo grob was good
Ive been coming here each year for over 15 years apart from last year. The food is great and good value. The owner is a little old grey haired lady, she is a legend, looks no different now to 15 years ago like she is frozen in time. Dont be fooled by her meek looking appearance, everyone jumps to her command.Just back again after last visit in early December. Still as good as ever.
If you love authentic Bangkok street food this place is great. The people complaining about cats obviously prefer an enclosed restaurant with higher prices and tasteless food. Every outdoor restaurant has the same environment and l love them.
Love this spot and eat here frequently. The food is flavorful and delicious. Everyone working here is friendly and very helpful. Thank you!
Delicious real Thai food. Just a very short walk off the main drag. Excellent welcoming service. The morning glory is outstanding.
Best cost - delicious meal Ive had since Im in Bangkok. Not a tourist place but menu in English. Really cheap prices (120B for a big and tasty chicken pad Thai).I ordered some starters, all of them you should share with someone since are big dishes.Try "SA-Tay" is delicious
My favorite fish dish in the city! I think its cash only and family run. Dont seat yourself and expect to share a table with strangers if its busy.
Food is great and reasonably price. Some staff may not be able to speak English but menu is in English so it’s fine. Cleanliness may not be as desired.
When I first passed by this place, I looked down upon it because the staff were washing dishes on the curb with the stray cats. You would have to see it to understand what I mean. I dont mean that the cats were actually washing the dishes. Anyway, now Suda is one of my favorites whenever Im in the Asok area.Im just speculating here. But I think Suda restaurant started as a street food restaurant for locals. But then somehow, perhaps due to its proximity to BTS Asok Station and Terminal 21, Suda has become a tourist attraction. Most of the diners are Chinese or Western tourists. Very few locals seem to eat here nowadays. Judging by the decor, it is probably owned and operated by a family of Chinese origin.Dinner time is the busiest. It is hard to get a table during this peak time because many diners drink alcohol and therefore stay longer than one would at a restaurant. Also, during the busy dinner time, you will wait quite a while for your food because one male chef does all the cooking. The others in the kitchen are just helpers.Do not expect the staff to be friendly. It is a street-food style restaurant. But they arent rude either. Some of them do not speak English. They have vegetarian options for the non-carnivores. Yellow curry (vegetarian style100 Baht. Steamed rice 20 Baht (See picture belowTasted fantastic.Vegetable fried rice 80 Baht. Easy to make but virtually impossible to make delicious. (See pic)You will often see cats crawling in the restaurant. A big no-no in the U.S. But this is Thailand.Menu in English is provided.
The Quintessential Thai hole in the wall street side restaurant that you must go and eat at. If youre into over priced upscale, swank, hip and cool Thai cuisine, Suda is not for you. However if you really like Thai food, real food, hot fresh and authentic this is your place. Suda is not fancy, but in 10 years Ive been going, I have not had a bad meal nor ever had any tummy issues if you know what I mean. It is clean but run down, the owners do not spend anything on decor, what you see is basic. Yet, the place is packed with local s and tourist alike.
It was filled patrons but I didnt see a lot of locals. I ate everything on my plate. The deep fried crab and wrapped chicken was hit for me.
Such a classic Gem in the centre of Bangkok near Sukhumvit.Basic and Small Menu but all prepared with lota of expertise and love!I guarantee you like the ambiente of the Streetfood vibe there.
(Point : 1-5)Taste : 3, generalPrice : 4, not expensiveKindness : 4, very kindCleanliness : 4, cleanedIt was not bad. But it’s not too delicious. It was reasonable taste and price. Watermelon juice is the best....!!!
Food below average. Tom Yum Gong is the most poorest made. Service is poor too. Very bad.
Foods are avg with reasonable price. Great location just behind Asok station in soi 14. A lot of locals n foreigner like to visit the shop.
Foreigner-ized Thai food catered toward tourists. Not authentic and the flavor was definitely toned down even though we asked for Thai spicy level. Ordered 4 dishes and none of them impressed us. Foreigners probably enjoy it though. The price is a bit high compared to other non-AC Thai restaurants. For more authentic flavors, go to Pantaree restaurant close by.
You can sit outside in the open, there are many people. Some dishes were salty to me and my family but overall I liked it. It seemed like a place people would go for drinks also!
Absolutely amazing! Very local, traditional and delicious thai food. Lovely and friendly service and one of my favorite places to eat thai food in Bangkok.A restaurant every visitor in Bangkok should try!!*UPDATED 02-11-2018 - I have come here everytime i go to BKK.
This was our second time at Suda and we specifically visited again because we had such a good experience the first time (two years ago). This experience was decidedly so so.The Tom Yum Goun Soup is excellent. We also thought the fried crab balls were good. I wouldnt order the fried rice (not good).Im not sure that this place can claim to serve authentic Thai food, but it feels authentic (sitting outside on plastic chairs), so thats good.
I liked this place so whenever i visit bkk, i always come here and enjoyed it. But it has changed. Staffs were very rude and food was also not goood as much as before. The fried rice was very fishy and crab was very salty. Only Banana leaf w chicken was good.I dont wanna visit this restaurant anymore.
Food is ok, but have had better VFM elsewhere. Prices are reasonable for BKK but expensive compared to street food. Of the dishes in the photos, the clam would be the choice
Good basic Thai food for a cheap price. Youll find this kinda place everywhere.I ate here twice. The first time, they made my food with no spices at all. I was very disappointed. But this is normal in Thailand, when the hostess sees a farang, they assume we cant handle spicy. The second time, I made sure to ask for spicy. I said "Make it spicy. Pep Pep" 5 minutes later, the cook comes over and makes sure that i wanted it spicy, I confirm. When my plate comes out, it was maybe a 2 out of 5 on spiciness. If you are farang and like your food spicy, go somewhere else.
Tucked in corner by Sukhumvit Soi 14, attracted many foreigners, typical quality Thai fare at reasonably economical prices...better service could have made tons of difference though.
Great Thai food for a good price! We eat there 3 time and the food was always delicious. The waitresses sometimes doesnt have much fun at work and let you know this with their face.Still 5 stars, because of the great food.
The place is more or less local with a mix of local/foreign customers. The decoration is minimal with street seating. The menu options are massive with descriptions both in Thai and English (photos included too). Theres a vegetarian section. The staff seems to be inattentive and you may feel they didnt notice you but they are just subtle. Dont wait to be seated. Go up to a waitress and ask for a place to sit. Tables are shared, quite nice. The food is delicious, good portion and inexpensive.
Economic #ThaiFood to get a hint of local cuisine. I had a good time here. Recommend the fried shrimps and pork satay.
