An array of breakfast staples such as pancakes, omelettes & oatmeal served in a light-hued space.
Fairly disappointing.Came in with a party for two, got our name on a list. After about 5 minutes, the host (who Im assuming is Gus based on all the business cards with his face on it at the registerpassed us up for a party of 2 that came in after. When we were seated, we werent given menus like every other table around us. After a few minutes, we went ahead and pulled up the menu online because we just wanted to get food in our stomachs as soon as possible. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. Solely because we were already hungry at this point, I just subconsciously looked at my watch every few minutes and remembered how much time passed.I ordered chicken and waffles and my girlfriend ordered a standard breakfast.I knew the chicken and waffles had chicken tenders. I didnt expect them to be tiny Tyson chicken tenders. They were probably an inch wide and 6 inches long, with no taste. They were cold and had some chewy bits to them. The waffle was also underwhelming. The bacon that was baked in it was stale and hard, while no amount of syrup could save the bland, dry waffles. Her breakfast was also disappointing for how simple it was. The bacon was the saltiest bacon Ive ever tried, as if they added salt to it. The hash browns were cold and not crispy as requested, scrambled eggs were runny. The best part was the toast.Oh, and the coffee? It tasted sour. They seem to sell their own coffee up front in bags. My advice? Dont buy it.Our waitress Donna only came by to our table 4 times: to pour us coffee, take our order, bring our food, and bring our check. If she had asked us how our meal was going, we wouldve said something. Two meals and two coffees rang up to over $37.00, which is outrageous. Two cups of "coffee" ran us almost $7.50 which is high for sub-par diner coffee.Gus kept a keen eye on the payment terminal up front too as if he wanted to see how we were tipping. For the record, I like to tip generously but I felt that for the food and lack of service we received, tipping 10% was being generous this time. The restaurant is inside an old Dennys. I wouldve preferred Dennys.
Food came out pretty quick. Ordered bacon and eggs. Got side of toast and hashbrowns. All food was not even warm to the touch and service was not great. Asked for ketchup and never got it. After eating what we wanted to took about 20 minutes to get the servers attention to get Bill. Will not be coming back. Walker brothers is right down the street and has a much better eating experience.
Just your ordinary grease spoon food. Not great.
Food didn’t taste good
Huge portions.Helpful and friendly staff.
Service not as good as before; food was ok.
Mike who says hes been there 5 years could not remember a single simple item to save his life. We asked for lemons, he never brought it. Neglected to mention that they were out of a salad until the very last minute. I asked for a small plate for my daughter and he never brought it. We asked for syrup and a side of whipped cream for the waffles and guess what? He never brought it. The fries came out as my wife was already done with her sandwich all cold. He then proceeded to ask my wife is she wanted ketchup? She said "Ranch" I bet you can guess what I am about to say next... He NEVER brought it. We were not the only only ones to have complaints that day I could clearly see many disgruntled and unsatisfied guests. If it was busy I would understand but thats just unprofessional of all the staff. The only one that was working hard was the young busboy. Which was the only one that actually seemed to care. The on the other hand manager clearly doesnt care when confronted with the issues from his guests, he was heard loud and clear mocking a customer when she said the food came out very cold. Not a place I want to dine at. What a horrible experience I can only imagine how they run on a day to day.
Food was amazing. Old style breakfast place. I did enjoy it.
Florentine eggs Benedict are Delicious, Savory crapes Lao Delicious! Excellent place, quiet, cozy, RECOMENDED!!
Arrived late to meet friends for breakfast. They were already eating and I sat with them. I waited for a few minutes for the waiter to approach the table, he saw me and said he was busy on the phone. Waiting for few more minutes and no one else offered even a cup of coffee to me. I couldnt wait any longer and left as my friends were nearby finished with their meals and we met elsewhere.
Stopped in for lunch with coworkers and had nice meal. Food was right and came out fast. Staff was nice and worked well together to take care of us during our lunch.
Delicious soup, took an extra long time to get food today. Said they were down a cook. Food still is delicious
Service was very slow. Wait staff was clueless about menu items. Owner came across as rude. Would never go back again
Nothing special, it was fine for a breakfast place and the food was okay but I’d prefer to go somewhere else. The waitress we had was pretty forgetful and did things very slowly but she was nice still.
I dont recommend this restaurant. I placed an in-person take-out order for a veggie omelette. Mike was my server. I used my credit card to purchase the omelette. After a few days I reviewed my bank account and discovered the restaurant charged my cc a 45% tip. Holy cow! This is a scummy business, stay away.
I can no longer recommend this restaurant unless you get the male waiter. He is really good and doesnt forget to bring you parts of your meal. The older woman, however, is another story. Slow, forgets things, and when she does remember to bring you something--its half wrong!! My husband always orders the Hacienda Fritatta because its really good, but we can get the same thing elsewhere and that is what we will probably do since the last two times weve been there weve been served by the woman and she just isnt very efficient. The fritatta my husband orders is supposed to come with SALSA, sour cream and they add guac--all in little cups on a rectangular plate. First time, she forgot and we had to ask for it. Second time, it was sour cream, guac and syrup--then she set down a bottle of hot sauce instead of salsa. There were 3 other groups of people who came in after us and received very slow service. One group sat for at least 10 minutes before they even received water and menus! At least she perked up when the manager appeared. Not worth going there unless you can get the male waiter.
I hate to say something negative about a restaurant, especially in these times..However, like other reviewers mentioned..the coffee was subpar..really bad..for those who say the coffee is really good and the best are biased or being dishonest..maybe i just got an old pot but there are alot of other reviews with the same issue.. good coffee requires good filtered water! Having said that, their water was definitely straight from the faucet..blah..come on people, water is very inexpensive to filter and get a way better product..especially when you are in the breakfast business..I probably wont return as there are quite a few other breakfast places way better in overall coffee, water, and food..I paid $21 for a couple eggs on a skillet(see photo)with some mixins..not cheap, thats for sure..in comparison, I had the same exact skillet yesterday at Buttermilk up the road by the mall, same price but wayyyy better coffee, water, and i got deluxe honeybun pancakes!! Sorry, not sorry..if this place was half the price i would return and eat here again..
Good place, one of those remarkable you get what you pay for! Might seem a bit pricey but keep in mind large portions!! You definitely get your monies worth!
My server was GREAT! Very nice lady i believe my receipt says Liz was my server. The food was ok just very pricey. Coffee is not worth $3.50 and on top of that their Gyro skillet they charge an extra $2.50 for a sprinkle of feta cheese. Almost any breakfast places that you go to for a gyro omlette or skillet, feta cheese is included and tzatziki sauce is also included. All other skillets, cheese is an option, but for a gyro skillet the manager says “only feta cheese is an extra charge”. For $2.50 a sprinkle of feta cheese with no tzatziki sauce basically paid $18.50 for a Gyro skillet compared to just going with a steak skillet for $17 and cheese is included. If you want to pay that price your best off buying the ingredients yourself and making it. Other than that the place was relaxing not loud nor busy, very peaceful setting.
Had a Denver frittata and it was really good! Portion sizes are very large and filling! Customer service was wonderful! And the restaurant itself was cute!
It was not horrible. But save your money and go somewhere else. The food was mediocre, it was not the cleanest, and the atmosphere was not inviting. There are better places in that area to eat at. Hope thus review helps.
Very friendly staff, lots of menu choices for breakfast, the atmosphere is like a 60s diner only bigger. I had avocado toast(tasty but lve had better)and hubby had breakfast burritos (very tasty with homemade salsa). Will eat here again!
My first time at this restaurant. Not impressed with the food. My omlet was broken up and looked more like scrambled eggs with extra ingredients added in. Pancakes were mediocre. Coffe was definitely not worth the $3.50. On a brighter note, the manager and waitstaff are wonderful people!
I had a Denver omelette with toast and hash browns; husband had the Cuban Club with pasta salad. Our food was very good, though it took a long time to come to our table. (There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant.Maybe short of cooks due to Covid? Coffee hot and refilled. Server very friendly, personable, efficient. Servers and host all wearing masks.
Im sorry to complain, but it took a long time for for my breakfast to be served. Eggs were not the way i ordered them. They had to be returned. The offer was to have them redone. I do have to say i was disappointed. The other people in my party was satisfied with their omelet and hamburger.
Well, I cant say I even finished 1/4 of my food. Ive never been here before and not sure about this place. The flavor of my food is off and I dont think Ill be back. Homemade corned beef hash...with peppers ? Just different I guess.
I ordered ham and eggs with hash brown potatoes burnt, Well done. After waiting 30 minutes food came, potatoes barely cooked. I sent it back to be made well done. The waitress brings it back saying that they cant cook them . I said that I dont want them. I left without eating. Didnt pay, but wasted an hour.
The service was excellent, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is also worth the price, and portions are big so be prepared to ask for a to-go box.
Ive been wanting to stop at Strawberry Fields for quite some time the experience was better than expected I ordered a Gyros Skillet with feta cheese and it was perfect. They mixed up part of the order which is why I wont give it 5 stars but I would go back in a heart beat.....
Worst food ever!, my daughter had pancake that was not cook super mushyI had veggie skillet that was very disgusting the veggies were probably from a can,We left the food barely untouched told the server that it was not good she say she will tell the owner , the owner walk by our table 3 time never stop to see us!,I guess they don’t care about customer service or the food they serve,,,all this was on top of waiting 45 minute to get our food while they had only 4 table in the entire Restaurent,,By the way still pay the bill to make sure I was not complaining to get out of paying!,Even my daughter that is not picky about food could not eat it; and actually got sick after breakfast so I would not suggest anyone to go there. If I could I would give them 0, but have to give one star for the review,,This Restaurent was the worst I saw for a very long time, worst in every aspect,
I have been to this restaurant since they opened. The quality of food has gone down horribly. When they first opened they were an amazing local restaurant and the food was great. The last time I went, I waited over 30 minutes for food and found an egg shell in my dish. Please support another local business.
From the time we got seated , I waited about 10 minutes before the waitress came in order our drinks, waited another 20 to 25 minutes before we got our drinks. Placed our order in and waited almost 1 hour for our food to come up. food was cold , everything was . not very happy with there’s service. I’ve been there twice before and I was very happy with their service however I was very very disappointed this third time.
Do you believe a restaurant should be shut down when it’s chef refuses to wear a mask during a Pandemic? I say yes! Let’s just start with the chef at this restaurant who i saw with my own eyes cooking meals without masks in an open view kitchen. If that doesn’t stop and give you pause then be aware that from start to finish I would tell everyone to avoid this restaurant. From ownership who “greets” you at the door with an attitude of rudeness to the manager who acts more like the bumbling character “Barney Fife”.It’s way overpriced and slow! The quality of food mediocre at best. The food and management have the same thing in common “both demonstrated zero sweetness or warmth”!I know I probably “had you” with the chef refusing to wear a mask!
The quality of food was good, but not worth the waiting time. My mom and I was there on two different occasions, and both were shocked by the time it took to get our food ready. It appeared to me that the owner is abusing the workers. Looks like he does not hire enough personnel, and the poor workers have to work so hard to compensate for lack of help in the cafe.
Today was my first time at this restaurant. It was very good. And I will be going back. The waitress we had so was nice and friendly. I recommend going to this restaurant if you haven’t been to it yet
We ordered brunch for work today. Can you say AMAZING!!! Huge portions. Everything was still piping hot when I got it back to the office. Mike who was got our order together was quick left out nothing. We will be back!
We absolutely love this place. They have always been accommodating when we bring my 90 year old grandmother and for a larger group. Tried the lemon soup today... specticular. Big menu and have ordered something different each time. Always been enjoyable.
Food was ok compared to the price we paid. Our waitress was very nice. Provided very good service. The guy who seated us not sure if he is the owner was standoffish. Did not care much for us. Would not go back for sure.being there. Racist.
Very good food, and the portions are generous. There are a lot of great choices for breakfast (they serve lunch & dinner food, too). Bathrooms were clean. Parking lot on the side/back and in front. Our waitress and the owner were really nice. We will definitely go back again!
The best food in the whole area!!! Always fresh, tasty, and fast. My brother is handicapped and they always are so quick to accommodate us. And that, above all else, is simply amazing and not often found! The consideration, the amazing staff, everything here is seriously the best! Dont miss out!
It was our first time here. Food was good. Had eggs with corn beef hash. Yumms
Great spot for breakfast. Never been here and took a chance. Fabulous breakfast. Best hash browns I’ve had in years. Crunchy but not burned on the out side and butter goodness throughout. Very tasty eggs, cooked perfectly ( over easyand the pancakes were super light and fluffy and the tasted so wonderful. If I’m in the area for breakfast again I will definitely stop again. If a picture is worth 100 words my picture should speak loudly.
First time today! Loved it! The staff is engaged and friendly, happy. The food is wonderful; fresh, not greasy. We are very impressed with this place. We plan on coming back again and again, for it is a good mid point between our house and the Grandparents house! So happy this place exists.
Generous portions and great neighborhood breakfast place. The frittata and gyro omelets are awesome. We also tried the French toast. That could be better though. Service was fast and the waitress super friendly and accommodating to our family.
Went at 9am on Saturday. There was no wait and got seated right away. Wait service was ok. Not super attentive, but not bad service. Ordered an omelette with fruit and pancakes. It came out quickly. Omelette was cooked in too much butter for my taste and pancakes were good, but flat and not fluffy. A little more pricey than other local breakfast places. All in all it wasnt a bad experience, but prefer some of the other local spots.
Youll like this place, quite friendly atmosphere, really excellent food, has a family feel. I met Gus the owner for the first time, who was friendly and really wanted us to have a great experience. Dishes are made fresh no cold food. Ill go back. I think others will enjoy it too.
First time I went with a large group all was good; food and service. Next time there were only 2 of us and only a few customers besides us. Our order took an hour! We werent told there was an order for 25 ahead of us and we couldnt get anyone to come to our table so we could ask why it was taking so long. Why didnt we leave? Good question. They dont do anything for Birthdays either. The manager gave us only 10%discount. Also, the Womans bathroom isnt good for walkers and wheelchairs. We will not ever be going back!!!
Ended up at this place after we found out Egg Harbor was closed. The staff was friendly and everyone thought the food was good. I would definitely go back but it’s still no Egg Harbor.
Great food and overall experience. Highly recommend!
Food was quite good. Service was fine, but they kept physically moving tables for other parties, which made it hard for them to get to us or keep track. They tried 3 or 4 arrangements to accommodate a couple groups, which was nice of them, but not so nice to those of us at the edge of the moving furniture.
