Had dinner here and the service was very good the whole evening! The food though was not that great and was lacking flavor.The halloumi cheese starter was fairly mediocre and the main meal was fish and crushed potatoes and was lacking salt totally.But location was great by the sea and the service was great!

Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of my dishes but the food and desserts were awesome. I definitely want to try this again. But one comment, please create more options on your menu for people who abstain completely from alcohol/wine even when used in cooked meals.

Strampen is a Vaasa institution, the location is great and the place is casually fancy (come in shorts and sandals or dressed up, no panic). Have eaten here a couple of times during the summer holidays, the food is good and especially the generous salad buffet during lunch is worth it.

We had a quick walk in dinner without reservation, but the waitress found a table for us even though it seemed like the restaurant was full. It also seemed like we got the best table of the restaurant with a view over the sea, which was 👌The menu items might not read like anything special, but we were presented with beautifully prepared portions that tasted fantastic. We couldnt be more happy with our dinner!To make things even better, our server made our stay feel very welcomed with swift service and nice recommendations.If you are in Vasa, I highly recommend that you dont miss on Strampen 💯

It took long to get the food and menus but the food was amazing

Delicious warm meal and a very nice crème brûlée for dessert, excellent service. I can warmly recommend the white wine based sangrias.

Showed up and was told it will be a wait for a table for our group.. was forgotten about multiple times. We ended up giving up after an hour and a half. Very disappointed and my first negative review

One of the best restaurants in Vaasa for a very long time and still is.

Our favorite restaurant of all times - be it summertime to enjoy chilled beer sitting outside and enjoying the view OR thick of winter times with heap of snow and cold outside to feel warm and cozy sitting inside.Over the years - the food options have also gotten better with more vegetarian options. The lunchtime buffet deal is great value for money and should not be missed. For meat and fish lovers - there is always something special available every day.

The biggest and oldest restaurant (1868here in Vaasa. Good food and well managed services. There is a huge terrace with view to the sea.

Nice Salad buffet and you get the main dish from another place, you can order schnitzel fish or lasagne and take the sides separately 13e, nice taste and cool place

Lunch is perfect. All my favorites(salad sectionwere serve. I highly recommend their lunch buffet( beef was perfectly grilledand ala cartè. Good service.

Very good grilled beef. Wife ate deer which was VERY tastful. Recommend both, but espesially the deer.

Christmas buffé is very much worth it. Its expensive and very popular, which means you have to make your table reservations ohead of time. In the summer its a very cozy place to lunch at.

Great place for a light lunch (Ill especially recommend the sallad buffet). Also nice for drinks in the evening, but come early as it can get crowded when the weather is good.

Prices are reasonable and best place for formal meals and dinners.

The place is simply amazing! It has an amazing view by the sea, where you can enjoy the sun of the long finnish days and the spectacular sunset un Vaasa. The staff are so friendly, helpful and nice. They have a variety of food, delicious soups, variety of beers, cocktails and the best Gin in the world Napue. The ratio quality + ambiance/price is way greater than 1.

Truly one of the best places in Vaasa. Enjoyed the ribs. They were the best I had tasted. Heard the burger was great as well.

Love this place! The location is great. You can watch the sunset from their outdoor patio. The food was very good as well. Appetizer was goat cheese salad. Dinner was fish. Dessert was a trio, all excellent! Would definitely be back next time Im in Vaasa.

Excellent food with a clean and simple menu. A bit pricey but surely worth the extra buck! Had to wait a bit for the food.
