Stoupa beach - Tourist attraction in Sparta, Greece
The beach at Stoupa, especially the beach downstairs from "Voulas/ Aggelicis/ taverna/restaurant" for me its a wonderful place to stay for sunbathing. Chrystal clear waters, a mix of sand and rocks, nice sunbeds and umbrellas and close to the nice taverna mentioned. Thumbs up for this.
A very nice sandy lovely clear water, gets a bit busy at the weekend but it is still very good. There are more pebbles than sand on the right handside waterfront. It is well organized with sunbeds ranging from €5-10 per pair of sunbed this year (2022but you can bring your own towel and parasols, best spot is by the Lifeguard tower. Also a very good feature which is near the Lifeguard tower, is a disable/limited mobility access chair with a rail ramp that takes you straight into the water at 3ft deep. I must admit its great to see such device on the beach, it shows that it is more inclusive, giving a greater level of access to the sea. There is a fresh water stream coming in the sea (middle if the beachwhich can make the water feeling a little cooler at the surface but its not a big deal, in fact I found it quite pleasant. On the left hand side of the beach waterfront, there is a place where you can hire pedalos, canoes and paddling board, see photos for the prices (2022).So in all, a lovely beach which has also a large selections of tavernas, shops, bakeries and a mini market.
Nice beach. Is better for families and people that do not want to pay a ton of money to the other beach Kalogria. Umbrellas are much cheaper and people are kind. Sea has some rocks. Great sunsets
A clean sandy beach with cafeterias in the area. Its a place you need to visit if you live in Mani
Long sandy beach, rocky in some areas.
Just an amazing Greek beach with tavernas to enjoy after.
Sandy beach, clear waters, a bit touristy but still good. Pebbles on the waterfront on the right hand side. Well organized with sunbeds ranging from 5-10Euros per pair in 2022. The is a fresh water coming in the sea which makes it a bit more chilly in the middle of the beach.
Impossible not to like this beach even though it is quite crowded, even in mid-June. Mainly sandy, crescent shaped bay with clear water. There are trees on Inn either side and an attractive backdrop. Umbrellas with sunbeds are €8/10. Several tavernas offering food.
A nice beach fairly sheltered busy wirh tourist cafes and bars but nice and sandy for children
Stoupa beach ... a popular choice, but a little too "touristy" for our taste.Large beach, arranged with many sunbeds / umbrellas for free if you drink at the bar. Its with golden sand, but there are big stones in the water. Many terraces, we ate very well at Restaurant Stoupa.
Sandy beach in a small bay. Calm and shallow water, ideal for kids. The beach is full of sunbeds and umbrellas so the free area is limited. Finding parking seat is also a problem.
One of the loveliest beaches Ive seen in Greece, hidden away in the village behind moubt Taygetos. Lovely sand, quiet surroundings. I recommend Mango restaurant, not crowded, but food is great - especially the chicken with lemon.
Wonderful tasty wholesome Greek food at first restaurant at the West end of strip on left hand side with the sea on the right. Very good meal and service. Very good shops in stoupa especially Annas gift shop.lovely things!
Nice sheltered bay & sandy beach with plenty of eating & drinking options
Great beachfront town. Just ate at an amazing restaurant called Acrogiali. The most tender octopus Ive ever had. Fantastic friendly service. I wish I lived closer!
Gorgeous beach, ample sunbeds, lots of beach front cafes & a good value supermarket nearby.
Lovely beach! Sandy, free sun beds with buttons for service!
Its an okay beach. Wouldnt choose it if I had options for various reasons, one of which is that the beach is always packed with easily triggered middle aged and elderly tourists and babies. The beach is okay and has everything you would expect from a basic beach. A huge advantage of this beach is that it is surrounded with all of Stoupas taverns and ice cream shops. In my opinion this beach is ideal for families with babies or elder people, NOT for teenagers or young adults.
Next to a river, warm and cold water mingle to give a unique sensation. Sandy beach, calm, beautiful spot for all who want to explore the real side of Greece.
Lovely village, fantastic seafront with tavernas and cafeterias. The beach is quite small and busy, more than we expected. Overall a very nice village!
Beautiful scenery, warm and clear sea water, many great cafes and restaurants just above the beach 🏖️.Overall great choice.
The umbrellas & sunbeds across Mango café/restaurant are free of charge. The beach is sandy but youll have to step on rocks/pebbles in order to get in the water.
Beautiful crystal clear water, sandy beach. Chilled, quiet and family oriented.
Nice beach, sandy - but rocks the first 2-3mtrs in the water. Gets deep quite fast. Calm and clear water in a bay.
Was a good beach, water is clean, restaurants nearby. Although there are accomodations such as umbrellas etc, I can imagine the beach getting really crowded in peak hours, so if you dont want to deal with that, Sunday 12.00 is probably not the best time.
Stoupa, what lovely small seaside gem of a town, south of Kalamata. Very picturesque with lots of tavernas on a beautiful beach. Good to spend several days here. There are lots of tavernas along the beach, and one fashion shop that has everything you may need, really nice ladies swim wear, dresses, shoes and groceries . Such a beautiful place. Crystal clear water and sandy beach.
Stoupa Beach and Stoupa is one of the must see places in Mani Peninsula because further you go down South it gets barren and this is one of the most beautiful organised beaches you can find around the peninsula. There are many taverns and markets around the bay and you can enjoy whole day at the beach and night at one of the taverns for your liking. There is even a camping ground in between two beaches, so this spot provides numerous options even for staying.
A very beautiful and peaceful beach. For those who want silence should visit it. The beach is out of pebbles and the water is very clean. Be careful to little crabs not sure if they bite. There is toilet and shower present at the beach.
Beach is covered in loungers and umbrellas from the various cafes and hotels that line this little seaside resort. Expect to pay to use the beach in reality since there is very little space free. Sand was nice and sea looked clean and calm for swimming. We were there in September when it was not crowded but I suspect it is had to move in the summer. There is a chair set up that allows disabled people to get to the sea and back and have a shower. This is to be greatly applauded, well done the local authority that set it up.
Great place to swim with its clear waters and a wonderful place to eat right on the beach in the evening.
Clear clean water warm sea , Sandy Beach, interesting fresh water flow. Fun nooks and crannies to explore. Bring your mask and snorkel.
Beautiful beach in a lovely relaxing resort.perfect for a chilled and relaxing holiday.fantastic friendly people lovely taverna and bars too.been 3 times now, people come back every year have a fab time here
Stoupa is a wonderful village. There are many Tavernas and boutique shops. The local people are very friendly and welcoming and the beach is set in a stunning little cove. The sea is warm and the water crystal clear.Plenty of places to stay and nothing is far from the beach.Highly recommend, once you go you definitely return!
Lovely narrow crescent shaped beach. Great facilities. Great selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Friendly and helpful locals. A must visit!
Very nice and clean beach .Very popular with tourist and the locals.
Nice place to eat, drink or shop for souvenirs. Ample of options. Relax and enjoy.
Great beach. Family friendly.
One of the best hidden gems in Greece, absolutely wonderful
Wow this beach is amazing. There are many sun beds to choose from. Showers on beach if needed. Lovely views at night and day .You can do many things in the sea such as swimming in the sea snorkelling feeding the fish leftover bread from leftover meals is always good fun.Well worth a visit and a holiday
Excellent beach a specially for families. You can find water sports.
A lovely typical Greek beachside town. More expensive than some other areas as Stoupa is a big tourist spot! Parking isnt easy but definitely worth a visit. Great beach, brilliant for snorkelling, swimming etc.
Sandy beach with clear waters. Plenty of facilities. Abundance of bars and taverners which come alive in the evening. Still has a lovely charm even in the mid season. There is fun holiday atmosphere and certainly suits families with small children.
A lovely place set perfectly at the foot of the mountains. The beach is fine brown sand and the sea deepens gently. The backdrop of houses is really nice and adds to the overall very welcoming ambience.Sun beds are expensive at 16 euros for two for the full day or 10 euros in the afternoon. But the good thing is that this is a minimum charge from the bar. So you just need to order drinks or food for 16 euros and you get the sunbeds for the whole day.Even though the beach attracts a lot of people, mainly families, it still feels very nice and calm and relaxing. A great place overall.
Besides the beaches links with the Kazantzakis/Zorbas story, the sand, colour, clearness and transparency of waters, what makes this beach visit truly sensational is the temperature of the water. Excellent food on top of beach too. Undoubtedly, one of Greeces best spots
Very well equipped & organized beach, but too crowded for my taste! And the general atmosphere looks commercial. If someone likes that kind of beach, may enjoy a day at Stoup seaside.
Lovely little village beach with free sunbeds if you purchase a drink from the bar behind the beach!
Overcrowded and very commercial beach. A lot of restaurants on beachfront.
Lovely harbour village with very cool bar called 360 fab views. We parked next to the church as we have a campervan.
They have Sun loungers and a bit of space to take your own beach mats etc. Sand is nice, but it is a little rocky when you get in the sea. Big rocks out to sea after the first 10 feet or so. Nice and quiet. Easy access to shops.
