This magical sight is extremely breathtaking !!This looks very small and different from the highway but it has another feeling when you visit it!!!We visit this place early in the morning when the guided tour doesn’t startSo there is another entry which is free of cost and you can legally enter and see Stonehenge from a distanceThis is called the farmers gateThe distance is similar to the boundaries made for tourists who pay and visit Stonehenge! There are no shops or bathrooms outsideBut there is a museum where you can find them (I guess they are paid though)We could also cover two more places in the same dayThere were no peopleIt was a good time for photos too

What an amazing place! I did this trip with a tour guide and it made it that much better. Such an incredible thing that was created here. Worth it to go see and if you are in a rush, take the shuttle there and back to save yourself about an hour. Once you get to the stones it won’t take long to look around and walk the perimeter of the stones.

Incredible landmark rich with history and very well maintained. It’s hard to believe how far back in time it stretches. We came here with a tour group in mid October and got lucky with warm weather. Make sure to download the Audio Guide app in advance if you’re into that sort of thing. There’s restrooms in the coach bus parking lot and in the Visitors Center.

We visited in October on a weekday (Thursdayand reached at 3:00 pm. There was absolutely no rush and we were able to get tickets with out any hassle. But would recommend to buy tickets online as we had to shell out almost 6 pounds extra per ticket than what it was showing online. The cafe was good and serves a decent spread, there was ample seating. We opted for a bus as the closing time is 5 PM. We reached there in 5 min via bus if you reach early you can walk also. It is a beautiful landscape with green grass and patches of trees here and there , as it was autumn the tress and beautiful colours on them. The path is clearly marked and you can download the mobile app which gives you information about all the places near the monument and about the monument also.It was a pleasant walk and we were able to click beautiful pictures, it is not allowed to go inside the stone structures but we can go close enough to get good pictures.Lastly around 4 PM they told us they will close in 20 min so we took the bus back. The gift shop had good options to get some souvenirs. And then we left around 5PM. Overall a good experience.

Finally. Bucket list spot finally checked off.Old. Mysterious. Beautiful. Spiritual.Loved it here. Lots of people though. Literally hundreds. Had to strategically line up my photo takes.Crazy long walk to get here from the parking lot area/cafe/gift shop.Take the bus... Theres not much to see between the stones and your car.Its way over-priced admission, but I get it. Its a really eye-popper.... A must see!

One of Britains most historic sites. Well presented and preserved by English History. A must-see location as a member, as its free and super quick to enter this way.Quick bus tours make it easy to get from the visitors center. Or, a clear path if you want to walk there.Great gift shop, and further information within the centre itself.Complete 360 views of the stones. Albeit from a little distance away.Aspect plenty of tourists, at any time.

Going to such an iconic landmark on a long weekend, in the middle of the school holidays isn’t for the faint-hearted. But we were determined to give it a shot, having been turned away from the Roman Baths in Bath because they were too busy!Yes, there massive crowds, but still ample parking. The shuttle bus from visitors’ centre to the stones was efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long. I had heard a lot of complaints that you have to admire from a distance, but it’s a great idea!!! From a heritage point of view, people shouldn’t be allowed to climb over the stones. But from a tourist point of view it’s fantastic! If you want to take some photos it is so easy to do so without a heap of other tourists in the way. I loved it! As always, it asks more questions than it answers! The gift shop was a pleasant surprise. There is a lot of the usual cheap and cheerful stuff, but also some more special mementos. None of which were ridiculous it expensive.

Not been since young boy, many years ago, probably about 45yrs, drove past the stones many times, nice place to visit, joined national trust earlier in morning as joint members, otherwise would cost£40 to get in(£20.×2member ship £147.60 /yr so saved straight away. Really good place to go and shuttle bus for 1.5 miles from visitors centre and shop./toilets,or you can walk it..

This marvel in medieval engineering looks like a bunch of rocks placed in the middle of nowhere. It is only after spending time and going through the history you begin to realize the effort and ingenuity that must have gone to build this.Sure, is no Pyramids of Giza (which date around the same time frame), but it is indeed a spectacle to see them up close. We were lucky that that the unpredictable English weather was perfect when we visited.

Stonehenge is sublime. There were quite a lot of visitors when I was there, but somehow it felt like there werent. The actual visitors centre is good, with an exhibition space, a cafe and a shop. I was there when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died, which I will always remember ❤

It’s a wonderful pre historic megalithic site in Salisbury. Well maintained and host of facilities are provided for visitors. Shuttle service to Circle is good & comfortable. You can also walk. Weather pleasant. Clean wash rooms in Coaches area. Time given is insufficient by tour operators. You feel like spending really sometime around. Travel from Victoria takes > 2 hours.

My visit was lovely, I really liked the exhibition and the stones. It has a parking in the beginning, where obviously you park your car, then you can go buy tickets and with the bus or on foot go to the site of the stones. By my opinion I wouldnt want to pay as much for a ticket, but in the end I found it very interesting

So this is a National Trust and English Heritage Site. Free entry for both members which can save you an awful lot of money. Directions to get to Stonehenge werent great. Depending on which app you use it will direct you to a lay by opposite. The signage is not great and unfortunately people cause traffic jams by slowing down to take pictures. When you actually get to Stonehenge it is good that they have a shuttle which takes you to the site and on the whole, most of the staff are friendly. There are a few jobsworths who unfortunately diminish the experience slightly. There are a few cool photo ideas dotted around the Stones which make the visit a bit more fun and interactive. I felt that there wasnt really an opportunity to get a tour of the site and the app took forever to load and install. Would have liked the option to listen to a proper audio tour. You need a decent zoom on your camera to take good photos of the Henge. Ive visited it now but I cant say that I was impressed with the overall experience. Gift shop is expensive and museum is very brief.

Really interesting place to visit. The stones are about 30 minutes walk from the entrance but there are shuttle buses to take you up to the stones and bring you back. It took us about 60 minutes to walk around stones. It was a pity you can not get nearer to the stones but you are close enough to get some good photos. We joined English heritage while we were there so we got back our entrance fee back.

University coach trip to Stonehenge & the nearby Salisbury.Rather crowded on a beautiful sunny May day.Clean area and very well organized tour, with the possibility to take a quick shuttle bus from the Museum to the monument itself, instead of walking. the monument still sparks a feeling of mystery around it to this day and its worth visiting once in ones lifetime.

Went here touring with a group. A marvel of human history! It was awesome to see it with my own eyes and the visitor center has great souvenirs. In addition, there is a section that explains the creation, purpose, and history of the Stonehenge. An overall great place.

If someone is interested in ancient times this place is worth to visit. Convenient car park for free. Good facilities for families. There is a touristic center with cafe and shop, toilets. From the touristic center to the place where stones are there is about 30 minutes walk, but there are buses as well. You can walk there or take a bus. Bus is for free (your ticket covers the cost of the busand they are available every 5 minutes. Beautiful views over the fields. If you have small kids, take buggy, it can be useful.

World heritage site that has to be visited at least once. Best to buy tickets in advance as it’s cheaper and no queue when you arrive. There’s a shuttle bus from the visitor centre to the stones or 30 min walk if you’re needing the step count. There’s a few activities for kids too.

Awe inspiring monument to visit, the stones are spectacular. You just have tons of other tourists to deal with, walking up there instead of the bus is a good way to go. The inevitable souvenir shop selling tacky Neolithic things does cheapen the experience.

A tip in advance. Come after 2 p.m., then the rush of visitors decreases significantly. When we came back around 3 p.m., we didnt even have to queue for the shuttle, and the ticket counters were empty. So, now to the topic. There is something mystical about it. It is without a doubt something special. I said many years ago that I had to see Stonehenge, and I have never regretted it.Thank goodness we have Historical Heritage Membership. Firstly, the car park doesnt cost a fee, the entrance is free and you dont have to queue for hours at the ticket office. The single entrances are really expensive.Nevertheless, you cant miss such an important site. There are also many other things to discover around the visitor centre. Currently, in July 2022, there is a small excavation site for children.

Did not disappoint. One of the worlds most famous prehistoric monuments, from its origins about 5,000 years ago to the 21st century. We did this as part of tour leaving from London on the bus.The site is well maintained and had a lot of information provided. This was more beautiful in person then in pictures.A World Heritage Site, Stonehenge and its surrounding prehistoric monuments remain powerful witnesses to the people of the Neolithic and Bronze Ages who created them.

We arrived on a coach bus(coming from our cruiseas Stonehenge was opening. There was no traffic going there and barely anyone in the parking lots. The facilities were beautiful and blended well into the landscape. Arriving at opening on a weekday, the ticket line had no more than 10 groups waiting. The cafe was a wonderful surprise with great food and coffee options. The gift shop has a great selection of all things Stonehenge. You can either walk to Stonehenge or take the bus from the ticket center. Super quick and easy ride. We arrived and there was a ton of opportunity to take a picture without a lot of people around. We did see cars parked along a road and you can walk the dirt path, but you won’t be able to get as close or read any of the information provided as you walk around. You can also see the Stonehenge from the road. There was a lot of traffic when we were leaving around 12pm.Overall, it was a great experience. I recommend going at opening and leaving before the crowds start.

I’ve always seen pictures of Stonehenge but until you get a chance to experience the area personally, you’ll never understand how amazing they truly are. When you arrive to the visitors center there is a small restaurant and plenty of clean restrooms. They have a complimentary shuttle that transports you to the ruins. It’s easy to spend 45-60 minutes exploring the stones and the mounds. Very highly recommend.

Certainly worth visiting. Keep in mind, you need to take a bus (its freefrom the visitor centre to the actual stones, but its roughly a 10 min wait between each bus (however you can walk if you want to, unsure how long the walk takes though). The best view is the one directly in front of you when you arrive, hence why its the busiest, but you can walk around the structure to view the various angles and other partial structures.

Well the exhibit itself is impressive, The way that this is organized requires a great deal of effort to get to see the actual Stonehenge. Older people may want to take more time if they wish to see this exhibit as you will be required to take an expensive bus to the side or walk a long distance to get there. It is not merely pulling over on the side of the highway to see this, rather it is involved excursion.

Stonehenge, being an iconic site, is a must for any traveler to the UK. But the site itself is wonderful. It can accommodate the crowds of people, and there are shuttles to and from the site. It takes your breath away and there’s 360 degrees of picture taking opportunity. The shop is great too and has almost every product in a Stonehenge-themed version. I only wish that we had been able to go closer.

Who would have thought old stones could be so cool. You can walk or bus there from the entrance. The walk is about a mile where the bus is a quick trip if you want to visit woodhenge then youd have to walk an additional hour out of the way. Its best to show up with a car and to walk one of the ways to the site. Be sure to check out the exhibition while youre there.

Historical Location where you can see some big rocks. Want to get close but not be able to touch you could pay a nice price different prices for different distances. If you stay to the left you can follow the free trail and be like 50 away from the stones. It is a about 15 minute walk from the visitor center visitor center to the stones not bad. You can also pay an entrance fee which includes a shuttle ride to the stones and be about 5 or 10 away from the stone. Free parking. Overall I enjoyed seeing it for its historical significance.

The only reason I wouldnt give this a 5 star is because you cant view the inner circle. But I totally understand and respect the reasons why. Thankfully I booked in advance and booked an early slot. We were there for 10am and the queues for virtually non existent. Yet an hour later after we had finished, the queues were halfway round the carpark. It was midweek but the first day of the Queens Platinum Jubilee. The gift shop is a little expensive and to be honest so is the entry price. You can either walk half an hour to view or get a free bus which runs every 10 minutes or until full. Thankfully it was a lovely day when we went and we got some great pictures. Very busy tourist attraction with lots of different nationalities. An American lady was kindly asking if we or other couples would like our photo taken with stonehenge in the background. As we walked round we saw a fair amount on people sitting on the grass meditating. Its a pity we will never know how the stones ended up like they did.

What’s not to like? Simple to get to and delivers as advertised. On arrival there is a free car park followed by a short walks to a cafe, gift store, WC, and clean comfortable buses to take you to the stones. Before you depart, it is definitely worthwhile to spend 10 minutes in the exhibition which explains a lot about the history of Stonehenge and the many other structures nearby, some of which pre-date the iconic stone circle. After that, if you step outside you will see some replicas of homes that existed in the nearby village. The buses arrive every three or four minutes and the drivers are courteous. The drive is only 3 or 4 minutes long but if you look for them you can see some of the other earthen structures shown in the exhibition. You can also opt to walk to the site. It is about 2 miles. If you are up for a hike, the area is crisscrossed with walking trails. The Stones are a marvel, but I will skip a description since you will experience it for yourself.

Your tour departs from Londons Fountain Square before heading straight to Stonehenge. Huge stones standing in majestic silhouettes in the Salisbury Plain have been recorded for some 5,000 years. Their enduring mystery has been the subject of interest among historians and cultures for generations. Your visit will then take you to Bath, as the citys name suggests, where the famous Roman baths can be found. As you walk through the baths, your professional guide discusses this UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Georgian architecture in the area. Your tour ends when you reach London

Family trip to Stonehenge. We loved finally getting the opportunity to see the iconic stones.Book online for a easy, speedy ticket pick up. On this occasion I would recommend the £6 guidebook as its worth the money, comes in multiple languages.Download the audio on your phone it is very informative and free.We went around exhibitions first to learn about the stones and people who created them/lived nearby around the time, very informative. The restaurant there was good, catering for hot/cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches etc. A little pricey, but nice particularly the childrens meal box which had a fantastic selection. The free bus up to/back from the stones is great running every 10 minutes with friendly staff. You can walk but expect about 20 mins+, further than you think. At the stones walk around at your leisure, lots of photo opportunities at different aspects of the stones going around. Ice-cream van much appreciated on a hot day by the bus stop, not allowed on with them though.

Unless you have expensive VIP tickets you cannot go near the stones. There is an entrance to the paddock beside where the level 2 ticket holders can walk. Its free and there is a safe well warn path. So dont pay £22 to walk right next to where the free entry is. Standing face on to the bus parking section at the stones, the little gate is to the left. Enjoy the magic 😉❤️

If youre interested in ancient history youll definitely want to visit. We booked a tour from London that included also the Roman Baths in Bath, totally worth it. Its a beautiful place. Even though it was busy and we had to queue to get in, it didnt feel like there were many people there because of how big it is. The shuttle bus service is excellent for anyone who doesnt want to walk to the stones. I took the shuttle there and then walked back as it was a beautiful day. Its not far, at a medium to slow pace it took me just under 30 minutes. The museum is good and has some very interesting displays. Overall I recommend Stonehenge for all ages. Its a lovely place.

Fantastic World Heritage site. Well worth it a visit. It was built some 5000 years ago. Each big stone weight 30 tons, and even the small blue stones are 3 tons each. Adult ticket is £20 each but it’s part of English heritage site, So if you are a member is free to visit. It’s worth it to get an annual membership. There is a stonehenge audio tool app you can download which you can use as a audio guide during your visit. Shuttle bus will take you to the stones and on the way back there is an exhibition near the exit. Last entry is at 3:15 in the afternoon. Free parking for the remember of English Heritage. This is by far the most recognized, famous and mysterious location ever to exist. A lot of theories have been proposed regarding its origins, purpose and who made them. So far no right answers can be provided. I believe its mankinds greatest secret. Some say it might be a portal to other planets, an array for interstellar communication or a beacon signaling someone out there, who knows, right?. So go there be wondered by this magnificent, ancient and breathtaking venue. Make up your own theories regarding what it might have been or still is, maybe. Watch the birds and how they behave weirdly around the stones and how they land specially on the top of 1 of them. Just enjoy the experience and let your mind fo nuts...I recommend you to walk from the visitors centre to Stonehenge (about 20/25 min, relax walkingand the same when youre coming back (go through the Forrest). I promise you wont be disappointed. Also book a tour (i vouch for Golden tours - cheap, plenty of time in each venue, the guides will provide so much data), they are quite cheap considering how much important this venue is.So fo there and enjoy, one more thing wear super warm clothes and umbrella, its incredibly windy even when the sun is out and let this beauty sink in, you wont forget it.

We came here as part of our Honeymoon while in England. I visited in the 90s and I cannot say enough about the upgrades since my last visit. The visitor center is AMAZING!!!! The bus ride out was great and our driver was super nice. It really is amazing when you think about how these gigantic slabs of stone got to their current location. A very "awe inspiring" feeling!
