After many visits and finding out this may be consistently the best restaurant we visit in Lake County IL. I had to share how good it really is.We enjoy the over whelming friendliness and great service from the employees. The food is as good as establishments that charge double the prices.Pictured are Clams Casino and Grilled Calamari appetizers that are made to perfection. Next would be Leslies Salmon always perfectly cooked and delicious and my wife favorite Salmon dinner. I also have the Beef Wellington which is superb and on the menu every day. Last nights special was Halibut cooked in a paper bag which was perfect.Last pictured are one of my favorites The New York Strip Steak which may be the most favorable I have ever had and the best of over 15 restaurants I compared it against. Last would be the nut crusted Red Snapper which is a large portion and very tasty.They have live music in the bar most Friday nights and the bar staff is amazing the drinks are strong and very reasonable as well. This place is a treat to go to!

A wonderful spot for lunch and breakfast. The place is cute, clean and staff is very friendly, Eva was so nice and efficient. The food portions were average as well as prices. The chilaquiles were delicious! The place partners with a local artist and displays the artwork through the place which can be purchased, a super cool idea.

Its a must visit, we have never had a bad dinner.

Went for the first time for lunch, it was great. Lovely, staff is great and parking is easy. And if you like DQ there is one nearby.

We have been to Stevens a few times now and each time its been amazing! The food is cooked to perfection and omg, so good! We have had Dan as our waiter and I cant say enough about his friendly personality, his smile says it all.! Very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. If I could give more than 5 stars , I would.

If you’re in town for RTC graduation this is the place to go! We ate at two other places and this was the best by far. Great service and food at reasonable prices. Calamari was delicious and my wife really enjoyed her fried fish sandwich. I had the Italian Beef and fries - really good. Many sailors and their families were there after graduation. Go here!

This is a regular stop when Im in town. The staff are excellent and the food has a nice amount of variety and has been perfectly prepared in every meal.

Incredible food here. We had steaks and they were cooked to perfection. The buss boy asking me if I wanted a to go box and I say yes, 2 please and he says "what?" was a bit rude, but I chalked it up to he was young and wasnt minding manners. At a restaurant like this, always sir or maam if you see this my guy. Expect a nice dining experience otherwise, wait staff was attentive, environment is dim lighting and a romantic vibe in the corners of the dining area. Definitely a date night place unless you casually spend $150-200/meal then by all means... get the ribeye!

The filet and the salmon are great here. My only gripe is that some of the food you want to order they make you sit in the bar area and won’t serve it to you if you’re sitting in the dining area which makes absolutely zero sense to me. Halfway through our meal we wanted a sandwich and were forced to move over to the bar just to order it and finish the rest of our meal. For that reason, I’ve deducted a couple stars in my review.

We were celebrating our sons birthday. 3 of our party ordered the beef Wellington. 2 of the Wellingtons arrived as expected. My sons wellington was rare. Nearly blue. After our meal, he became violently ill. Projectile vomit and dehydrated all night and drained the next day. The GM was apologetic and graciously offered to have my son back for another meal. He agreed. The second meal my son was served spoiled lobster. The smell of ammonia coming from the lobster was so potent that everyone at the table could smell it once it was placed on the table We asked our waiter to smell it and the face he made after was priceless! The consistency of the lobster was cottage cheese. When we told the GM that sadly, we would not be coming back, he replied "frankly, I wouldnt either." That speaks volumes. The wait staff is fantastic and the bread is pretty fabulous. I hate to give negative reviews, but after dropping $500 for our family meals, one would expect a little more. Photo Wellington on top was our expected meal. Wellington on bottom is my sons meal.

Found this place on line. Our experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and beyond my expectation. Compliments to the chef, as all our dishes were perfectly seasoned and could tell - cooked with pride. The tuna tar tar was the best I ever tried, very tender and delicious sauce. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and very tender. The bar made me the "Wisconsin Old Fashion". Originally from wisconsin, I was leary if the bartender could make a real Old Fashion. It was spot on. The perfect blend and reminded me of the ones from home.Joe, our waiter, was very nice, attentative, and not pushy at all. He made our meal more enjoyable.I would highly recommend Stevens. Worth the money and will definitely be back.

Chelsea V. Was an amazing waitress. I will come back just because of her hospitality and warmth. The food and deserts where excellent. Highly recommend this establishment for dinner.

Great atmosphere!!!Had the Lamb Chops appetizer, Crab Brie soup (with no crab meat in it for some reason), Blackened Chicken entrée & 2 Mango Madness cocktails.The best flavors were the soup & cocktails! 😐 Not much salt in the rest of the meal which made it hard to really enjoy the entire meal.Service could have been A LOT better. Waited about 25mins for my second drink. By the time it came I no longer wanted it & asked for the check. A bit disappointing 😞. Cant say that Ill be back.

Great place! Pricey but great food. I wouldnt bring my young kids here, to me the atmosphere is sophisticated. Eric the manager was great, attentive, and very welcoming. There was one issue, I thought was ridiculous- my incredible waiter grabbed the wrong drink and the bar tender came over and embarrassed him in front of all of us... that was absolutely not cool. I would have given 5 stars if that didnt happen. When Im back in IL, I will definitely go back to Stevens!

First time here and it was a pleasant experience. Food was good and everything was brought to the table promptly. There doesnt seem to be a staff shortage here because, someone different delivered each course of our meal. The one thing I didnt like, was how there were so many employees in one area, that it seemed as if they were hovering. Waiting for any dish to be empty in order to clear it from the table. That makes for prompt service although, it also made it hard to talk to my dinner companion without the worry of interruption. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go again the next time Im in North Chicago.

Stevens never disappoints! Had my sons wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2005 & it continues excellent servers, menu -the seafood is great here and I ordered Beef Wellington it was cooked perfectly. Great chocolate martinis.

We just left a few minutes ago and another fantastic experience. I didnt catch our servers name (maybe Brandonbut he was certainly top notch! my steak was a slightly over cooked, but they were quick to accommodate my pickiness. We have recently moved from Chicago to Gurnee and this place is a an absolute GEM. The GM (maybe owneris also a rockstar! We will continue to visit frequently.

Went there for a late lunch/ early dinner with a friend today. Have never been here before. I’m very picky about steak but I can honestly say it was the best steak I’ve ever had. I do frequent Morton’s in Schaumburg and Ruth’s Chris in south Barrington, so I was skeptical at first. Not only was our young waiter very friendly and personable, but he recommended perfectly and my NY Strip was incredibly buttery and flavorful. The sides were divine and the atmosphere was pleasant. My guest had the lamb chops and said they were also amazing! The manager was super friendly and was also the bartender this afternoon. He came over to our table and chatted a little. What an incredible experience. Thanks for the awesome meal and service. We will be back for sure.

Took the wife and my mother. Joe was our server. He did an awesome job. Kept the drinks filled and food coming. Two burgers and calamari were perfect.

I have to say that after hearing good things about Stevens, I was not impressed at all. I will say that the old fashioned’s were good, and I enjoyed the crab Brie soup. However, the reason that I go to a steakhouse is for steak. At first I was just disappointed that prime rib is not an option.. most steakhouses I’ve been to on a Saturday night it’s a given.. no worries though because I see they have a 20oz bone in ribeye, I’m good with that. So I ordered the ribeye and asked for it to be cooked medium.. I like my steak as rare as I can get it. To my displeasure, the $50 steak came out and was charred and as well done as it gets. Sort of like cutting into a piece of leather. I was encouraged by my friends to tell the staff to take it back, but the way I see things is that if a steakhouse of this caliber can’t take an order and cook a steak properly, it’s not the place for me. I’m not the guy thats going to wait on a new steak to be cooked and start eating my dinner when the rest of my party is finished and ready to go home. I’ve given this review 2 stars only for the sake of my cocktail tasting good. However I will think twice about going back for a steak. It’s kind of a shame because I really wanted to love this place!

The food here was excellent. Absolutely delicious steak, the seafood pasta special, and the red snapper was insane!! Our server, joe, was excellent and made great recommendations. Really nice bartenders. Highly highly recommend!

We have never been here before and we where disappointed. I hadn’t had good lamb chops in a while so I wanted to try them. They where all different thicknesses so none where cooked the same. They ranged from super rare to well done. Manager did take it off the bill so that kept this review from being lower. My wife had the steak medallions with three sauces. One sauce she didn’t get, and one medallion was super rare we didn’t mention that to the manager because we didn’t want to seem like we where just trying to get free stuff. The drinks where good and the mushrooms and asparagus where good. Was disappointed with the server. He never checked on us after we got the food after we where served. I ended up eating the pork chops just because I was hungry and well he never came back. We had to flag him down just to get our check and let him know about the chops. Over all I don’t know that we will come back.

Well since I started another job up north close to Gurnee working in my usual field of drafting I was invited to a farewell party to a coworker whos worked there for so many years and they took him to the best. Surprisingly they took me to the best because we got to order whatever we had despite that this was a work-related and not on my own accord but I will be coming back here on my own accord. Beware the prices are somewhat high for steak but then again it makes it for the quality since Ive never been here and its my first time trying Stevens steakhouse in a very low-key area next to Great America on Washington Street buy a strip plaza I was familiar with when I used to do my college meetups up here long ago in mid-2000s and a few times in the 90s traveling to Waukegan Gurnee area. Anyways the food is fabulous. Starting off with the coconut shrimp that I was even thinking that everybody else was stinking. The shrimp was just the right size the batter that it was made in was just the amount that was not to full of batter likewise with the coconut the sauce that they use. The calamari was also delicious too they didnt also bread too much or batter too much over the squid and they gave you two choices of sauce which was actually pretty good. There is a lot of very good dishes I wanted that day between lamb chops and the steak since I havent had steak for a while at a steakhouse and this place didnt disappoint. I ordered the 11 oz New York strip medium rare and I had a choice of sides I went for a more healthier approach avoiding carbs by eating a broccoli and the way they cook the broccoli was not to hot and moist. If not soggy. I ended my pallet with a dessert I havent had which is creme brulee which was also very delicious the caramelization on the custard was just the right amount on the surface and the right amount of fruits they put on the creme brulee. I will be going back on my own to trying the lamb chops. As well as the beef wellington that my coworkers had mentioned about here and Im not a big fan of beef Wellington. Do note to people that the prices are somewhat pricey its like over $20 for each entree the main entree and like the appetizers are over $15 from what I saw briefly despite displaying the menu on my review. A underrated steakhouse in the Northern lake county suburbs that needs to get the hype.

The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Our sailor had just graduated and not only the restaurant staff, but the clientele were super. Lupe, our waitress, was just unbelievable with her knowledge and recommendations and made our sailor feel like a king. I would highly recommend this eatery to any families looking for something nearby in Great Lakes Illinois for their sailors first liberty meal.

Comfortable and pleasant environment. Food is good. During our most recent visit, our waiter was excellent. He knew his stuff! We hadnt been to Stevens for several years (no particular reason), so we were pleased to see that it was as good if not better than the last time. With more visits in the near future, I hope to up my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Very much recommend it, and particularly for special occasions.

Party of 10 to celebrate my nephews Navy boot camp graduation and this was a great choice for lunch. Nice ambiance. Friendly and attentive staff. There was a nice selection of food. I had the beef Wellington, other people ordered different kinds of burgers, pasta and the cowboy ribeye steak. Everything was delicious. Will definitely come back soon. Thank you.

Ive waited about 10 years to return and give this steakhouse a second chance, and Im glad I came back!The service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was that of a comfortable steakhouse without feeling too stuffy. The whole meal was completely on point; my ribeye steak was perfect, my soup delicious as was the salad and bread. The wine list is a bit light on the red side, but good selection nonetheless.

If your a dumb careless and non picky enjoy. I got cold over logged baked ( browningpotatoes, cold butter That did not melt in the potato. A burnt charbroil dirty grill New York, 44$ and over done. Did not enjoy or eat. Lamb chop appetizer that had NO FLAVOR , AND SALAD DRESSING DID NOT HAVE ANY FlavorsI WAS very, very disappointed ☹️ and could not send a enemy to eat there. The water was fine! , $350. Before tip, for ,4. Poor quality to me. But as a restaurant owner, I like my food the way I like it. .

If I could give six stars I would! The food was phenomenal, steaks cooked just right, and everything was so fresh! Our waiters name was Michael and he was so friendly and professional. The hostess was lovely and enthusiastic. The creme brulee was to die for!!! I honestly cant think of a thing wrong here. Our night was perfect!

Had our office Christmas party there in a private room last night and had an amazing experience. I booked with Brad in October He was fantastic to deal with and so incredibly helpful and kind. When I got there he made sure to check in with me to see if the room was to my satisfaction(beautifully decoratedand made sure to let me know he was there all night if I needed anything..I wish I knew the name of the server we had because he was top notch!!! We were a party of 15 and he kept up with the drinks during our cocktail and appetizer ( calamari, shrimp cocktail the size of small children and the bruschetta were amazinghour like a champ. When we finally settled into our seats he made sure everyone was comfortable had time to look over the menu and took our orders perfectly. The food did not take long to come out for a big group and was made to perfection. Everyone loved the meals they chose from the full menu. Desserts were ordered and again delicious. The fact that the restaurant had pretty much closed by the time WE decided to leave and were not rushed at all was also fantastic. Thank you for helping make this one of the best Christmas party’s I’ve ever been to. I would highly recommend giving them a shot for your function.

Every time we go, we are greeted warmly and truly taken care of. When my date and I arrived early for our reservation and couldn’t find a seat at the bar for a cocktail, Brad took care of us and found us a cozy spot. Best martini in Lake County! Our server Guadalupe was wonderful too - attentive and friendly. Wonderful to have a family owned spot like this in Gurnee. We will definitely be back!

I treated my Husband here for his Birthday and everything was absolutely perfect! They even read that the reservation was for his Birthday and actually remember to tell him Happy Birthday! The food was good, the atmosphere was great and the service was top notch! Well definitely be going back...this was our 1st time but not our last!

Very good food. Although its known for steaks I had the chicken piccata plate with pasta. Big portion, had left overs.Calamari appetizer was ok...tentacles delicious but the rings were huge, a bit too big for my liking but cooked perfectly.Wedge salad ...perfect and delicious.Choc Mouuse for dessert, Big healthy sliceNext time I go I will get a steak

We took my mom to Stevens for her 70th birthday and they made it memorable. The staff was great. The manager checked on us frequently to make sure everyone was happy and the food was beyond delicious. Thank you guys so much for the great time.

Top notch service, delicious food. Highly recommend. We walked in around 6pm and got a table right away. Great Cosmo, flavorful tenderloin, perfectly cooked strip. No room for dessert, but they looked great!

Great service, we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server Alejandro was excellent. We had a nice variety of appetizers and all were delicious. Steak was the theme for the night, Tenderloin Trios, Beef Wellington, New York Strip, Rib Eye, all perfectly cooked and delicious. Couldnt finish the meal without dessert, which was also varied and delicious.

Stevens is beautifully decorated and each menu item is deliciously homemade. Although Lindsays pasta is the only vegetarian item, the bread looks like a butt, so that makes up for it.
