Lovely staff and excellent food

Dont visit many cafes, but this one did the emergency hangover bacon sandwich very well.

Big massive banging breakfast with chips.Good coffee, good seating, great service.

Cant beat this place, a real gem. Food and service is great and everyones welcome.

The most prestigious greasy spoon lve visited.

Try the salad selections. BIG MEALS and very healthy.

Great place to have a very nice cooked breakfast or lunch 😋😋😋. Staff helpful and friendly and the prices are very accessible.. also next door to Brockwell park , so you can have a stroll after having a tasty meal . Already been a few times and will come back again 😊

Great menu.Typical cafe but clean, friendly and big portions. Some in our group had breakfast, scampi and chips and omelette.Avo on toast was lovely.If you love fresh coffee this isnt the place to go as only instant served here.

Lovely cafe. Very nice friendly staff. Food is good quality and reasonably priced. Lots of seating. Good wide range of breakfast and dinners, plus vegetarian, and they are open on Sundays.

Had one of the breakfast set, (2 eggs, 1 sausage, 2 bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomatoeawhich includes tea/coffee and 2 slices of toast for £8.20Good value and excellent portions.Place is clean and staff are friendly 👍👍

I ordered the omelette. It was good portion and made well. Good prices. Simple interior, but good atmosphere in the kitchen. :)If i go next time that area I would visit that place again. It is good sign, isnt it.

This cafe serves great food. The menu is vast, and very tasty. They do a mean bubble n squeak and my friend says the kebabs are fantastic too..The staff are polite and nice too.

Ive been staying with my granddaughter for a few weeks I dont live in London. She took me to Steves cafe twice for lunch and the food was exceptional really good. I recommend everybody to try the place.

love it, from the friendly greeting as you walk in, to good food and quick service at a reasonable price, been a bit busy lately but dont seem to cause an problems, used a lot of cafes over the years, this is a good one.

Ordered two takeaway iced lattes & two chicken kebab wraps-everything was freshly prepared and delicious (the wraps came with a nice little side salad). Premises are clean and nice having the front doors opening out onto the street for added ventilation. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Will definitely return.

Went in ere 2 Saturdays ago was Filming in Dulwich av to say what a blinding breakie and the the bubble was quality the staff were so friendly like a proper old skool cafe live 40miles from there when in area again will definitely go back in ta very much for a blinding bit of grub👍

Lovely cafe in Herne Hill with friendly staff. Hash browns , sausages and mushrooms were nice and the portion size of the breakfasts are great. The eggs weren’t the best but everything else was fine , will definitely still come back.

First time in visiting Steves Cafe but it wont be my last. I had the special which was Chicken Kebab with rice, salad and pitta bread. The chicken was cooked well, not dry at all and had a good flavour to it. The portions were spot on and the pricing is very reasonable. Very friendly staff also.

Honestly this place is amazing. There are no faults with Steves cafe. The food is great quality, its done nicely (breakfasts are cooked properly in this placethe staff are super kind, and to be honest they had some renovations done sometime last year I think? The place looks great. My partner and I love this place!!

Very nice English caf and I mean that in a good way. Its my regular and enjoyable stop in this area. Staff are friendly, food good and hot. Theres now a big coffee machine making a very drinkable, fresh brew. Recently refurbished so it looks more modern but the staff and food quality remain high.

I like my breakfasts, but not this one. Tinned mushrooms, cold tinned tomatoes, a sausage I wouldnt give a dog. Powdery dry black pudding. I wont go on or go there again

Great place for filling up with a traditional breakfast. Service comes with lots of smiles and willingness to cook menu items to your liking. Lovely paintings adorn the walls giving the place a very pleasant ambiance, as well as providing opportunity to strike up conversation, if the mood takes you. By the way: paintings all courtesy of the lovely woman at the till! While I was there a customer bought one and commissioned another painting for her living room!

Been going here for as long as I can remember. Beautiful staff which reflects in the food. Good traditional British breakfasts along with other traditional foods from other cultures. Love it 10/10

not the kind of fancy, urban, cool new stop-off Herne Hill has been used to waking up to another of every week over the last ten years, but if you want a decent fry-up, a worthwhile mixed grill or sandwich, this place will almost always have room, serve you large portions and promptly, whilst you read the complementary newspaper or watch music videos on the tv and with friendly service to boot.sure the decor is dated, the lighting less than subtle, the seating fixed and the view of badly parked cars, buses and constant traffic, but you go here cos youre hungry and they feed you well, no pretensions - hence the four stars.

The best cafe in Herne Hill by far, always really friendly and attentive. None of the useless pretentious fluff that you get in a lot of breakfasts in the area. Always my go to. Prices very reasonable with lots of choice, recommended Steves to a lot of friends who now have it as their cafe of choice in the area.

Unpretentious greasy spoon doing all your caff classics. Most of it seems to be from Lidl but its dirt cheap and fast. Great if youre hungry and not bothered about smashed avo or whatnot.

Have been coming here daily over the past 15 years.Great atmosphere & first class service always made welcome. Extensive choice of good quality food at reasonable prices. Impeccably clean. One of the best Cafe"s in South London.

I work in the area and use this Cafe most lunch breaks and have done past 9 yrs . Best Cafe in and around Brixton by far i have tried them all. 5* hygiene / fantastic food / friendly / big portions / good price / great variety of food. Chicken kebab and rice 👌.

Had a few fry-ups here. Does what it says on the tin. Not the best fry-up Ive had but certainly not the worst. OK price wise, decent portions, you wont leave hungry. I appreciated the old-school cafe atmosphere which is dying out in these parts; usually a few tradesmen in and BBC news on a screen.

Have been going there for a while now. Very clean, very social, they attend to customer needs and treat all like family. I believe Kilo Pounds review is biased and absurd, possibly associated with that specific cafe but each to their own. Very diverse place and overall super. Maybe have more variety in desserts.

By far one of the best cafés Ive been to. Friendliest atmosphere, food is amazing and portions are definitely your moneys worth. Very clean, and it proudly displays 5* hygiene. Overall amazing stuff, definitely worth a visit!
