Stern in Luzern

I visited here last winter and really enjoyed my stay. The word was nicely decorated while being a bit small, and it was in a quiet area.

Had a great room in the annex 2 mins from the river in the centre of Luzern.

Good location to the city but we ended up canceling after one night. The staff is never around, the room was unbearable hot in End of June and we were given one small fan. Down comforter was the only option for this heat! There is no cross breeze even with windows open, and with windows open that means sunlight too. Doors were locked very early. Breakfast was served at 7am and no earlier. We were so miserable we canceled after day 1 and moved to an Ibis Budget with AC on the other side of town

My Dad and I stayed here for several nights, if I ever go back to visit, this is the ONLY hotel I would select! The customer service was outstanding and the location cant get any better - close to the river walk and train station - just a beautiful area = )

Docked points for lack of hospitality. It was raining and we asked where we can get/buy umbrellas. The answer was “everywhere you can buy.” Would’ve been nicer to be pointed to a specific store to buy because we went around looking while soaking under the rain, and was only able to buy one because we were pointed to a specific store by a stranger. Also, didn’t feel too welcome by the lady in charge during breakfast.As for the breakfast, it was very plain and was very small portions.Pro would be the very small but fast elevator, so even if you could fit 3 (but technically 2 adults), the wait is fine. Also, the location is walkable to the main train station (10mins).

Mr Thomas is a nice and humble gentleman, what an excellent service he provided us during the breakfast, we are proud of him and keep it up

This lovely hotel has exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed very friendly when we arrived on our bikes. The rooms are lovely and conveniently located in the old town of Lucerne. I really liked the interior design and the modern amenities. One other highlight was the tasty breakfast. For sure, Id love to come back next time I need to stay in Lucerne overnight.

Not crazy about my tiny room and bed made for children. Reception closes at 10pm and I arrived later. Had to phone in, listen to a voicemail in German and then English. Then go to a nearby hotel and grab my key. The staff was nice and its clean and tidy but experience was below par overall.

This hotel is conveniently located very close to the train station and the best areas of town and actually a good place to stay. The rooms are clean and neat but this definitely is not a luxury hotel.

We stayed right by the water just outside of Lucerne. Nice to get away from the busy town and have a peaceful place to stay. There is also a large park near there for hiking and biking.

We ate at the bar area at the restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! Great quality and quantity for price. Top notch service with a server that embodied Swiss hospitality. He was extremely attentive and gave us excellent recommendations on dishes. Best meal of my past month in Europe. Highly recommend!

Beautiful and cosy restaurant. Service was great-attentive and helpful. Its moderately priced particularly for Lucerne. We shared 3 compartments- mixture of mini versions of the starters- the goats cheese one and beef tartare were our faves. For mains we ordered two of the restaurants most populat dishes-cordon bleu and meat patties. Good portion size. Unfortunately we were too full for desserts but the menu options did look delish!

They put two holds on my credit card, and then tried to charge me a third time at check out. When I pointed out the mistake the receptionist was unapologetic even though shed tried to double charge me. This shenanigans left me without access to my credit card, on a bank holiday, in a foreign country. Lovely hotel, all I can say is watch your bank statements and maybe take some cash out before you check in? Haha

A great little restaurant with lots of history. Funky decor. Most importantly the food was really good.

Took my wife to the restaurant here for a date night and we loved it! Excellent food and great atmosphere. Did not feel touristic. Would highly recommend!

Went to the restaurant for dinner and it was a flawless meal. Amazing chicken cordon bleu and my husband had the Christmas menu which was superb. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The Hotel is about 10min walking distance to the train station. It is clean and well kept. Good Breakfast. Also in the evening you can easily go out and have a stroll near the Chapel Bridge and eat something there.

The staff provided some good recommendations for sightseeing, food and drink as well as a few bus pass for getting around. There is no parking but reasonably priced public parking across the road. Recommended

Stayed here for 5 nights and we used it as our base to Mt Riggi, Pilatus , Titlis & Swiss transport museum and many more attractions.8 mins walk to the Train station and very near to Lucern old town, Lion monument etc .( all within walking distance Staff of this hotel is friendly and offer free breakfast!!

Great location, absolutely delicious food and friendly service. Was great to have the option to eat outside and enjoy the warm spring evening. Will definetely be back!

The only food food they have is the bread they usually serve you before lunch and dinner and I certainly don’t want it to be my only breakfast bread choice! Other than that everything is very nice

Hotel Stern is such a lovely place to stay! All the basic necessities for a nights stay in lucern above a beautiful little restaurant. The breakfast included far exceeded my expectations and the staff was very welcoming!

Drinks were alright, nothing special. The place was a bit cramped and service was mediocre for this hotel bar

this hotel is AMAZING! We booked last-minute due to a flight cancellation and the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. We mentioned that we would be leaving early in the morning to head back to the airport and they packed us little lunches to take for our trip! The location is perfect, right in the center and walking distance to the train station and lots of cute shops, and the free breakfast was wonderful. The room itself was cozy and had everything you would need. Absolutely would recommend

Restaurant is attractive, with excellent food, friendly staff. Seated promotly. They screwed up our order but tried to make it right. Kind of pricey for serving size. Bar in neighboring room was a bit loud.

Price is good, consider that you need to pay an extra for the parking and this is not small thing at all. Rooms at 5st floor, like mine, is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, people taller than 1.70 might have injuries before getting used...I havent tried breakfast yet, well test tomorrow morning, seems to be one of their highlights.

Wonderful ambience and food quality. Well worth every penny. Definitely will get the starters in a glass again - had the smoked trout, beef tartare. The mains I would recommend the tagliatine pasta. Beef patties were good but theres better options on the menu.

Hotel is located in a good area near the river. However, road construction created a lot of noise. And with temperatures in the middle 80s made the room was quite hot since there is no AC.

It is walkable from the train station. It is also close to the river and lake. However, there is no air conditioning.

Have only eaten at the restaurant and it really is great. One of my favourite places to eat in Switzerland! It does get extremely busy, so reservations are advised.

Absolutely fantastic dinner, in particular for special occasions. Service was wonderful, and the food was superb.

First of all, the food is really good. Well thought through and expertly delivered! Well worth five stars. The lady welcome us in the evening is also very helpful and trying best to get us a table. However The experience was let down in the end. After taking the wrong order and not communicate clearly to us, the staff still insists us to pay for the dish we didnt order and as a "good gesture", the tap water will be free of charge. Er... really? Anyway the breakfast service on the following day was good so hope this is just an exception.

Great little restaurant, very good food in a cosy space. Shared a traditional Swiss minced beef dish and an excellent chicken dish.

Small, but very comfortable rooms. Delicious food, rich breakfast buffet and a lovely place for having a few after work. Only one brand o rum but that ones worth trying mos def! Chapeau

Checking in is simple, as usual. The double room is big, but there are NO power outlets at the bed or Desk. I have to charge my extra phone battery in the bathroom. In the bathroom, the light switch is impossible to find.
