Sterling's Famous Steak Seafood & Salad Bar - Diner in Richland, United States
Food was good, the bleutadtastic burger is just enough spice to not overwhelm the cheese. We went on a game night, so the atmosphere was loud, but not distracting. The service was very attentive and caring, which is the reason I will return.
Parking was easy for us. We chose the salad bar, which was quite good. The menu is varied with a range of dishes. The waitress was very busy, yet managed to be friendly, and helpful. There is outdoor seating available. Oh I would like to mention the margarita was bland, likely with little alcohol. We will be back
I ordered the crepes with blueberries they came in a little container not prepared with a sauce, the crepe was folded up tasted like a pancake, they need to learn how to serve and make a crepe!!
Services always friendly, fast, and the food is good. The only negative thing I can say is that the coffee is horrible! LOL not sure if its a city water or just the brand of coffee that they have.
Oh ma gosh!!! Was totally expecting just average diner fare when we sat down, but I was in for a surprise. The food was amazing!!! I didn’t even take a moment to take photos to share, was just too into the experience.
Hire more Daves!!! Solid Waiter, fun...Excellent Service...best waiter weve had in 30 years, hands down. Food was good, great view and atmosphere. Thank you Dave!!!
Waiters had bold face expression and food not that perfect, simple restaurant such as Dennys is better food. However, nice view and breeze at the river
The host didnt seem very friendly, but when I tried making vibrating she got a little better! The rest of the experience was perfect! The servers and manager were amazing and the food was great! Beautiful view
The food was great, and our servers were truly amazing! We had a large group with 9 kids. The raspberry lemonade was delicious! As were the fries. The portion sizes are very generous
I got a BLT here and I think it was the best Ive ever had. Really delicious! Atmosphere is clean, classy, but also kind of eclectic. No beer on draft tho.
Our server Garrett was wonderful. And the food was delicious. Thank you!
Came here while visiting family, from out of state, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, salad bar and drinks. They even have freshly squeezed mimosas! And who can pass up this view of the Columbia River from the patio!?
My friend and I both had the soup and salad bar. Everything was so fresh. I only wished I had a stomach to hold more food -- so many choices! And, we drove to their Richland restaurant to enjoy the river view.
The girl who helped us was really attentive and kind. The food was fresh and delicious! Highly recommend.
Got food poisoning when the other couple and I ordered the steak. We live in separate residences so it was not an illness. Obviously they’re not conscientious about old food or maybe cross contamination. The manager was unwilling to compensate ( put credit back on my Credit card for my mealand her tone was curt. She said they will contact the health department. I’ll contact the HD too. Don’t go there!
Sat on the patio and had lunch from the salad bar. It was a beautiful, not too hot not too cold day. Salad bar was good, not amazing.
I had one of the best restaurants experience here. The food is super delicious. The blue cheese steak was super tender and melting in my mouth. Only wished our server could be more attentive and polite. Otherwise, food and atmosphere is great!Definitely come back here next time.
Sterling in Richland has an amazing salad bar. Friendly service and thier dinner rolls and Beef Barley soup are amazing. Always clean .
It started out rough with the waitress, but they made a switch to David and the experience was great. We had a table of 12 and David kept up and was very attentive during out visit. Drinks were never empty and he made sure we always had anything we needed.
I cannot express how much my friends and I have enjoyed having wonderful cocktails made by bartender, Dave! For the past several months since December 21, we have come in multiple times and are greeted by him and been waited on with our menu orders. The rest of the staff are great in keeping the coffee coming also! Thanks everyone, and to Dave! I highly suggest the pineapple martini!
Biscuits and gravy. Biscuits could have used refrigerated butter cubes folded in the dough for moisture. Perfectly cooked sunny up eggs helped for moisture. Gravy was also a little to thick. It would have been great to have ground breakfast sausage in it as well. The staff was great. My son in law loved the pancakes. Gods blessings.
Had a late lunch outside. Beautiful setting and wonderful food.
How do I eat my appetizer, salad and head stars on my main course before my drink came out. Had to keep asking for more water, potatoes in the clam chowder were not cooked all the way, and they didn’t even bring out the correct order of food so that I had to wait another 20 minutes.Food was really good, and the weather was nice
This is a restaurant that our relatives, who are local to the Tri-Cities area, suggested. It is typically pretty busy, but we got lucky and had no waiting. It had a nice ambiance and had views of the Columbia River. We had the salad bar and soup, which was nicely appointed. I thought the clam chowder was delicious. I had seconds. The rolls were huge and scrumptious. A must have. I would definitely go back!
Great food and view of the river.
Great service and a beautiful view. The restaurant could have been cleaner, I saw eaten bread rolls & random fries on different areas of the floor and dust dangling off the hanging fish sculptures. Food was mostly average, cocktails were delicious though. "The Cod Father" unfortunately looked and tasted like it came from Dennys. I expected much nicer plating and quality, the side salad, however was very good. Our order of "The Beach Party Platter" had overcooked shrimp and clams that were on the tough side. Basically, anyone at my table who ordered seafood felt let down. The "Korean Cauliflower Wings" were actually fantastic, with a nice sauce and the addition of cilantro, green onion, & purple cabbage balanced it really well. My husband, who usually dislikes cauliflower, actually went back for more after I made him try it. The salad bar was ok, but if you dont eat soups/chili/meat it really didnt feel worth the price. Im honestly a bit disappointed based on the hype this place has from some locals. I might try it again, but for breakfast instead.
Beautiful location by the river! We had a wonderful breakfast! Crepes were yummy! Eggs and bacon cooked perfectly !
Very nice atmosphere, wait staff was attentive and informative. My breakfast came out piping hot and made to order.Ill be going back to tay dinner soon
It made me very sad to see that the customer service in this restaurant that I have been coming to for so long has defined to the point of disrespect and outright rude service. When they put the priority on the customers I might consider returning until then I will not be coming back to his restaurant.
Very nice atmosphere, polite and pleasant staff, clean and delicious breakfasts. I’ve been here with guests every time we’re in Richland. Ate here about 8 times so far and never had a bad experience. Every waitress that I’ve ever had has given eye contact to everyone in my party, always smiled, and has always been very attentive. The view of the river from the restaurant makes eating here an experience. Eat here. You will not regret it.
Decent food, lovely atmosphere. Ill be back!
Great location and service until our food came and our waiter disappeared. Food was disappointing compared to other location. Sterling sauce was a super thick cheese sauce and you need to google a Monte Cristo sandwich ,terrible version!
We called ahead of time and they were able to sit our party of 18 for breakfast! We were coming back from court to celebrate an adoption so it was nice to get in right away. I had no idea they served breakfast. Even though we were a large group we didn’t feel spread out in great service. Our food still came out together. The food was really good and we all ordered different dishes (besides the children). The sterling breakfast sauce is amazing!
Went here with a sister, my daughter in law and my 1 year old granddaughter. The salad bar was excellent and everything looked fresh and perfect. They have a decent kids menu. Even for a 1 year old.
Good location, good service, good food.
Price is a bit high but you cant beat the salad bar. One trip through is a good meal and the clam chowder is highly recommended. The stuffed potato selection is also really good but priced high for me. Restaurant is always clean and the staff is excellent.
Delicious food! Attentive service and reasonably priced. We loved having our pets on the patio too! Reason for the 4 star: No choice on how burger meat is cooked, all are cooked medium.
Service was good, food was good. The view of the river was also nice...I had a watermelon margarita...didnt taste like watermelon, was very tart, and appeared that they used grapefruit juice? I dont know.I know that every place is short staffed and whatnot, but when she brought out the food, she left the check. I know that it was probably to save a "step" in our process of checking out, but when she left the check, it felt like she wasnt coming back to see if we needed anything else. Maybe Im old school, check should have been kept until we were ready to check out. And...she didnt return right away, more like 15-20 minutes...didnt bring steak sauce...
It was a soooo nice to enjoy life lunch on the patio overlooking the river. Its been nearly 18 months since Ive had lunch hear. So nice to be back. Great staff, great service , great salad bar. Looking forward to putting Sterlings back into my weekly lunch routine.
So many choices! Wonderful friendly staff. The steak was on point, perfectly cooked. The clam strips are huge. Better than Ivars. 😉 My son said the fries from Sterlings are his new favorite fries. My mother enjoyed her scallops. Funnel cake fries with raspberry, we wish we could get them back home. The staff did not complain that we were a chatty bunch and were there still eating and talking past closing.
Its sad this place has gone to the wayside. Food is just okay and service sucks. The menu is way to big. The staff are in pain. We simple ordered hamburgers. The are half the size of the bun, more condiments than protein. Way over priced. Great views of the river. If they simply cut the menu down and had happy staff that knew what they were doing this would be a great place. This was a bad experience all together!!!!’n
2 plates where amazing, not mine. You think the most expensive plate at a table would have more care. I ordered a 10oz tri tip with mushrooms medium rare and by the picture you can see what I got. I dont mind rare if its done right. Good value for size but not quality. I call it bubble gum steak. I tried frog legs when I was young and it was so tough my jaw got sore eating them, that was this steak. Not much for flavor either. The hospitality and ambience was great but getting a steak and baked potato maybe 2 degrees warmer than the room really speaks volumes about the cook as well as forgetting mushrooms when its clearly a part of the menu and a skewer of shrimp that was grilled very well but had nothing on it except maybe what was on the grill for added flavor. If this is what you call a steak house then you people really need to get out and experience a cook or chef that really loves and takes pride in what they do.
I tried your Stirfry with chicken. I liked the presentation, that’s probably why I got it . I also liked the veggies and rice . The chicken was a bit dry.
Shipwrecked gondola was pretty good gravy tasted like a common box gravy but still with the meal put together the way they did it hit the spot. The wife got the bluetastick burger I think it was called and the salad bar. The burger looked amazing and she really enjoyed it. The salad and sides at the salad bar where all very fresh and as anther review stated the ranch was one of the best ever tasted. The menus could use an upgrade as we could hardly read the desserts on the back but that just shows how much use they get.. Staff was polite and food came out quick. Will definitely go back if Im in richland and hungry.
The Salad bar was very fresh and super clean. Everything tasted wonderful.
I had the chicken fettuccine and my husband had the steak. The fettuccine was amazing and the chicken was cooked to perfection and saucy. My husbands steak was just okay, not the best cut of meat, so we both ate off my plate. I recommend getting the ranch on your salad, as the flavor is one of the best I’ve ever had. Great friendly service with local suggestions.
We have been coming to this location and the one on Queensgate for 2 years now. Always have such wonderful services. It is hard for small businesses during the pandemic, we are trying to support as much as possible. If they are open for indoor dining and the place looks full then we will have our food to go, if not then we will dine in. They clean the table and chairs after each group and there is social distance between groups. Support the local businesses and the local workers.
Sterlings is a Local Secret. The restaurant is clean and up to date. Fresh food, good chefs, delightful service, menu to include all tastes. Its fun and trendy. There are three restaurants in the Tri-cities. This pearl of a restaurant sits adjacent to the beautiful blue Columbia river in downtown Richland. From your table the views are spectacular. The owner has an interesting taste for art displayed which youre bound to enjoy. The service is exceptional, happy and customer focused. The salad/soup bar is fresh and tidy. The menu is varietal. I had the tri-tip with blue cheese butter and asparagus which I order often. The filet mignon and lobster is back as a special and is good. Salmon is a good choice. Breakfast is always awesome and available all day so have a crepe for dessert as in European restaurants. There is a full service bar.
Solid bacon waffle, as in I go here exclusively for this. Have had other items on the menu and they are just average. Everyone talks about the omelettes but honestly I am not impressed, they are just big and stuffed with lots of meat and veggies, so filling yes but nothing special tasting. My go to meal is a bacon waffle with a Texas Fusion drink. Amazing breakfast combo.
We met friends twice for dinner at Sterlings during our one week stay in the area. Sterlings has been here for many years, including when we lived here, but recently built a new building with views of the Columbia River. We managed to score outside seating both times we went. The new building is much nicer, the old one was originally a Sambos chain restaurant (yes, that old). The first dinner my wife the salad bar for her dinner, a really nice option since the salad bar is very large. I had the 6oz steak and salad bar combination, which worked out well for me. The second visit my wife had the St. Louis Dinner Omelette and found it OK and probably will not go for a dinner omelette again. On a visit a year earlier another friend had a dinner omelette and loved it, so we suspect these depend on who is cooking that day. This time I had the #53 Seafood Combo with a cup of clam chowder to start and I was very happy with the dinner and happy with the chowder. Service was very good both times and we know we will be back.
