Urban natural area featuring a network of wooded hiking trails & a picturesque creek.
Kind of short but nice overall with 3 ft waterfall.
Great way to challenge! Beautiful and so very scenic!
I love the trails here . Such a sweet hidden gem.. with water features, and unexpected trails! Its a easy walk for my 4yr old too.
Place is only open during daylight hours . Entrance off Sheridan Rd
If you like hiking on peoples back yard, this place is for you.Necrophantom.
It use to be a nice place to go on a walk with family and dogs, but the last time we went someone was talking to us while hiding in the trees as we left. Not so family friendly anymore.
Nothing but "TWEEKERS"and the homeless anymore. Alot of them dont pick up trash, broken glass, etc. Its DEFINITELY NOT a place people can enjoy anymore.Kinda makes me wonder WHY there have been 2 fires that have broken out back there these last 2 summers...Hmmm? God sees and knows ALL.If only more human beings would just realize that, our world WOULD BE a better place for ALL.
It would be awesome if they utilitized the 2 massive green houses for growing lets say organic veg, fruit & maybe some herbs for the huge homeless & ailing population around there. Thats a project Id be onboard for.. Im not political just pragmatic.. Maybe someone knows about the rules and ownership of that property and buildings.. And maybe some one else knows how to write grants... Lol.. just a thought.. Bit idk if its really open to public so be ready to explain your biz there. Idk I never saw 1 park or city worker there myself but Ive been told that. ☀️🌲🌳
Good hike but many steep spots and alot of deadends. Not a great ideal place for kids, elderly and my opinion dogs.
Nice little walk we took our dog on while it Sprinkled a little Rain on us. Small main loop trail, many little trails that lead down to a stream of babbling water with many steps placed to make it easy to follow back to parking lot.
Great views and a few tricky spots. Overall I would visit again
Some old gotg of the forest is so m.j r of CV th hgt e nicest Old forestry in bremerton kefy
Fun place to hike thats close to town. Four stars because there is a lack of directional signs and its easy to go in circles if you dont remember your way. Good hike otherwise!
Stephenson Canyon would have been a much better experience if it were maintained better. Remarkably scenic, very convenient, but not well maintained.
Fun walk hike for the kids and me.
Ok to hike with dogs but not for people that have a hard time walking. Terrain is very rough, steep in some places. Up side in town hiking
The coolest hike.Walk down the creek left until you reach the water fall. It is small but pretty.
Its so beautiful, quite, an found the water fall first time! Cant wait to go back!
We didnt spend much time here, but the park is beautiful and perfect for short hikes. Lots of elevation changes to get the blood pumping and heart rate up.
Tucked away in an urban area it is a nice place to walk and explore. They need signage to better help navigate the way. We never found the waterfall.
Easy hike with the kids. A few places where the trail was narrow or didnt have signage.
I liked it a lot. Some nice areas if you want to keep it relaxed, then there are some more challenging areas if you want to get your adventure on. My partner does not get as excited about the more challenging parts of hikes as I do but she was able to manage this this one so it was a great middle ground. Only negative was that it was a bit difficult to actually find the small waterfall but after getting turned around a few times we finally did it.
Ive yet to find the waterfall. But, we do let the kids walk at the creek area below. It’d be nicer if the city removed the tank from the creek though.
Lovely place to hike around. Some areas have the trail washed out. Ive also experienced people on small electric motorcycles driving around the main sections. Lots of small paths and approaches that get very steep suddenly that might be dangerous if youre walking/running around too quickly and not paying attention. I found the steep sections quite fun myself and the bottom with the small waterfall and brook is lovely.
It was a beautiful sight. I little bit of a incline hike but most of it with stairs. Not really marked, but if you go with a picture of a map of the trails youll get to where you wanna go. And its also a great place to find an adventure.
Great walking path down the steep banks of a washed out ravine to a small trickling Creek in what looks a dry Creek bed. Big ferns and old concrete culverts dot the ravine floor making and beautiful afternoon outing.
Nice pretty place to go for a little hike, small hike not very big!
Beautiful trail. Some steep spots, but really calming walk. I did find honey mushroom, turkey tail mushroom, and also a few medow mushrooms. Water fall if you follow the creek.
We had a great hike at the canyonthe waterfall is at the top of the canyon its a little bit of a hike but once you to the river keep heading up stream and youll make it there
They have some great trails that are pretty well maintained by the city and community. Planning on expanding the trails this Saturday. It also is clean with little to no trash.
Love these woods ❤ great little walk.
Beautiful scenery right in the middle of town. Trails were pretty well maintained, but not very well marked.
Beautiful with a little creek inside but absolutely nothing is marked and so many offshoots of the trail its extremely easy to get lost went down a couple of trails that dead ended if Trails were marked I would come back but if theyre not too easy to get lost in the woods
My 6 y/o and I visited this today and he loved the jungle. Some places were a bit steep for him and it could have been a lot more clearly marked but had lots of fun.
Great!! We took our children ages 8,4, and 2. No problems
Access is challenging for casual walkers, but a nice little hidden gem.Directions to falls: From the Birch street trailhead, go down hill, left at the sign, right at the next trail fork, then look for another branch on the left. Follow this down the stairs to the creek. Follow the creek upstream, by whatever path fits your ability until you reach the small falls.
Nice for a small hike with older kids and adults!
Had to climb and maneuver through rocks and water to find this tiny waterfall but kid ans dogs loved it
A nice little hideaway trail. Could use some upkeep, but still a fun little trail system.
I loved it. Im a California Baby beaches and bleached tips, joints and snow trips but no I have never been in the wilderness like this but if your like me new to the atmosphere embrace it because its beautiful and nature is truly at peace I got to witness that on this hike
Absolutely stunning natural beauty, but watch for broken glass. Sad that such a beautiful area is marred by trash. I carried out a handful to try to help and had trouble finding a public trash can. Still, this place is a gem and I will return. I just wish people would take better care.
The canyon has really improved since i was young, thanks to a lot of hard work from the community! Its a nice place for a nature hike, without having to leave town. There arent any benches or a restroom, which is fine, but does limit my visit times. :)
Cool place in the heart of Bremerton. Dont go alone. Safer with another person. Run or walk but would not suggest a bike. Trails are beautiful and water fall was fun to find.
Great walking trails, scenic views and wild anilmals
Great. Much more wildernessy than youd expect in city limits. Nice little waterfall. We took our 3 boys and dog all through the trails and falls area. We had a great time. There are more trails than on the map which makes efficient navigation more difficult, but all roads lead to the stream. We went on a Saturday in July and only saw one other group the whole time.
Well maintained with a few different trails and a little creek. Its not spectacular but its refreshing to have a little access to the woods in the middle of Bremerton.
Great little place to hike, my dogs enjoyed it too!
Daylight hours only, please. This is a light hike for people to enjoy within the city limits and neighborhood of Bremerton. However, be aware that homeless people sometimes try and camp out and must be reported immediately to keep this a safe environment for everyone.
Great trails for hiking with the dog
It is a cute walk, but as a hiker I dont like how you pick a trail and you have to back track due to dead ends. It is fun if you have kids that love to play in water. The stream is small and has a couple of great places to sit.
