Steam Incorporated in Upper Hutt

On the 4th of September, I went on the trip to Taihape. The noise level overall was consistently around 74 dB. That level was caused by the train itself and the general chatter of the passengers. That’s ok. However, the level spiked at 84-94 dB when the man was speaking over the intercom which was an almost constant commentary during the first 6 hours. Ears can cope with a spike of loud noise but not consistently loud noise.The intercom was so annoying, the reluctance of the carriage attendant to turn it down was supportive of this real health hazard. Not to mention that I couldn’t have a conversation with my friends during the first 6 hoursMy complaints got a “we don’t really care” kind of response. And it went on for the rest of the trip.A real torture.

Went to book 2 tickets on train to feilding $130 each plus processing fee . $4 fee but its for each ticket so 2 tickets $8 on top . So I will keep my money in my pocket steam incorporated

Wonderful organization of heritage rail enthusiasts preserving steam and heritage diesel trains. I highly recommended one of their open days, the trains are quite impressive and well preserved.

My son was a Thomas fan. I really enjoyed the awesome day trips out into the country and stopping off at the Midevil Market etc.

For just a donation you can walk around the train yard and see history being preserved. This place it a MUST see!

OK trip but one of the train operators was so rude that he literally yelled at me and my 5 year old boy when we tried to cross the track in Shannon station. We didnt know we were not supposed to cross plus at least 20 people have crossed to the other side already. We appreciate its for our safety but if he could say it in another way, he wouldnt have ruined our day.
