Stawell Park Caravan Park - in Stawell, Australia
We stayed there in September 2017 and while the owners were lovely, our unit and the surrounding environment fell drastically short of expectations.
They say you keep the best to last!We have just completed a lap of Aust, and this place is a shocker. Filthy bathroom, a grubby camp kitchen, and rubbish everywhere. Unfortunately it was the worst park we have experienced.1 star for hot water in the shower.
Awefull, keep driving
Nice place
A cheap caravan park but friendly owners all the same. The roads need to be graded as they are quite uneven. The bathrooms were sometimes clean but didnt have soap and the cobwebs everywhere were of putting. There are random things around the park which make it look untidy. Needs a good clean up and upgrade. At the moment it looks tired.
Being pet owners we were not expecting to be put into accommodation that we would not even let our dogs sleep in. The room smelt disgusting, we could not open the bedroom window, the so called area for our dogs had no cover and our dogs were not permitted in side. The bathroom door handle was broken, and it was dark and dirty. My husband spoke to the manager and after persistence we went to another cabin. This cabin was an improvement, but still could have done with a better clean. We paid over $300.00 for one night, because we could not stay another night, and he told us this room was more in price than our other. This is not DOG FRIENDLY, as far as we are concerned.
Quiet place to stay since new management, lots of improvements, older style park , very friendly people, plenty of room to relax, with a bush camping feel recommend stay 👍👍
Bloody awful! Lot of work needs to be done.
Love my time at the stawell park caravan park....very neat and loverly managers
Location very comfortable and Friendly
It was my worst experience , We just went in and came out may be stayed 10-20 minsThe place was hauntingwe booked the place because we could not find booking anywhere else and we were over priced $50 for a powersite which is not even levelled ground (forget about concrete slab or grass)No soap in toilet no sign of dump pointIt was more like a junk yardEverything was dirty filthy , even it was written no refund no creditNo wonder It was written no refundThis place need atleast basic need renovation
The unit was dirty and shower was full of mould yuck
Stawell Park Caravan Park is a wonderful, friendly, easy going place to visit. The cabins are lovely, the staff are fabulous and go out of their way to make the space a calm and relaxing environment. The amenities are clean and neat, and comfortable.I was surprised at just how lovely the nature walks and the surrounding flora, fauna and geography is.I need to say this to others who have had less than the best experiences, a caravan park is not the penthouse at the Ritz, its a campground and cabin sleepout environment, and the Stawell Park Caravan Park is up there with the best of them. The outdoor bbq areas and various walks around the park are wonderful.I highly recommend the Stawell Park Caravan Park, all accommodations are great, and the staff are brilliantly helpful and easy going. The surrounding Black Ranges make for a beautiful backdrop for your holiday, and a delightful place to visit for nature walks. You couldnt wish for more at the foot of the Grampians. I cant wait to bring my mother up here for a night away from the big smoke.☆☆☆☆☆
Room smelt like urine nothing was clean and the bathroom was mouldy.
Very friendly staff lovely bushland setting.Great value for everyone. Everything we needed. Our company will highly recommend this park to anyone. Celine
Booked a cottage with bathroom, arrived to a tiny room no bigger than a two room tent and no bathroom, TV didn’t work, A/C barely worked and there were holes in the walls which were taped over. No privacy curtains on the curtain rods. When I asked if there were any other rooms available we were told there weren’t then when we said we were going somewhere else they somehow found one for extra money. Ended up staying a few minutes down the road, paid the same amount and we were very satisfied there.
We only stayed for 1hr as the accommodation was very dirty. It looked as though no one had cleaned it. There was a bad smell coming out of the fridge and microwave.Found someones dirty work clothes in the cupboard. Also found a broken door weather stop in one of the kids bed.Lack of lighting around the park. You dont feel safe walking around at night. Was approached by another park user which came across as a bit creepy, daughter felt unsafe a this point.Would not reccomend to anyone.
Its ok lovely caretakers and smallish living complexes but peaceful bushland around it
Dirty
Old on the highway so noisy trucks at night. Clean facilities though.
Very nice and quiet clean and a bit dated but so what. Would stop there again.
Nice and quiet and very friendly and very nice care takers who have done alot to the park to make it that much more pleasant to stay at
Best caravan park around very friendly staff and the park has everything that you require for a perfect stay thoroughly recommend this park.
Lovely & Clean,Tidy .Wonder Staff & friendly residents & vistors.
We are so grateful to this place for being so accommodating to our last minute bookings. They went above and beyond to help us.Hands down, their customer service is the best. We are just passing through with a tandem trailer and were able to help us out. This is the second time we have stayed in Stawell at this place and will come back to this park again.Thank you Stawell Park Caravan Park!
Friendly family park in a bush setting
Old very basic
wonderful place to spend time near the grampians
We received a warm welcome and encouraged to take a look around before checking in for our four nights. Spotless amenities. Great laundry, both industrial washing machines are in excellent working order. The swimming pool was pristine and a drawcard for hot summer temps. West Victoria is dry and the ground hard but camping is camping and this campground was perfect for our time in the northern region of The Grampians. Well done to owners and staff.
Very nice place, me and my family had a great time and nice clean swimming pool too. We were late to check in but the owners were very nice to us. Had a mix up with the booking of course it was our fault but they were so nice to sort it out for us immediately. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay over.
Adequate accommodation. Nothing overly fancy.
Highly recommended. Run by a lovely couple who will go out of their way to provide exceptional customer service
Incredible hospitality! Only stayed one night, but the owners went to great lengths to look after us.
Full of bugs rooms are out dated and old.
Great caravan park cabin was tidy and well appointed owners are super friendly and helpfull.
I stayed here for one night on route from Adelaide to Melbourne Hosts and Park Managers, Robyn and Norm were both friendly and extremely professional Cabin was cosy and homely. All park facilities immaculately clean. Had coffee with some locals this morning. Kangaroos !!!
I have never stayed in a more filthy degrading accommodation.features -holes in walls. filled with sticky tape.mould on windows.mould on ceiling.parts of bunk beds falling apart.holes in mattresses covered with sticky tape.left over medicines and used tissues tucked under kids mattress .cockroaches around kitchen area.spider webs in most corners.a sink that could not be filled as it had the wrong size plug.plates in cupboard with food still remaining on it.ant problem.management needs work too.when presented with a problem with wifi management complained about bad service and dead zones for mobile phones, which I agreed and was why I needed the wifi which was advertised to be working.no promise to fix it just shrugged off.second time talking to other management they said all seems to be working fine up in the office.after a bit I suggested maybe they could reset the router down the bottom of the park.she then went to go call her partner to help. which he had left his phone behind.she then told me to go find her partner somewhere in the park. great.... shrugged off again.managment would do well to have a 2way radio to contact each other as there is no phone service in the park.I found other management who said he would finally go a look at the router.nothing was fixed. wasted time.the cabin was strewn with laminated warnings about leaving the cabin clean or you will be charged a fee.that is laughable, the cabin was cleaner after we left than when we arrived.the management seemed quite happy with their new bbqs and said I was the first to use it. yay for me the only clean thing in the park which I needed to ask the managers to provide cleaning equipment. I was left waiting while me food went cold for this equipment....they made snide remarks about how clean it should be left. and how proud of their new purchase. maybe they should work on the cabins first than a bbq.i would like to give this 0 stars bit is not an option.in conclusion I can see the potential for an amazing park. but the way it is now it would take a lot of money and hard work to get it up to scratchwill not recommend to anyone.
Lovely owners. There fairly new. Seem very passionate to do their best to make everyone feel welcome & make your stay enjoyable.I visit a friend here. Roads could be improved, and overall the caravan park could use a fresh coat of paint/ some sort of face lift. Bit In saying that, Toilets were clean & tidy. Cabins are clean & welcoming. The property seems maintained. Nice quiet place to stay if you want to get away from town, but still be in good driving distance from the shops
Beautiful lake with swans in it, good camp kitchen. Fun fact: the first Stawell Gift was held on the park grounds
Lovely management clean facilities and they are pet friendly, even let us stay with the pony
Labour Day weekend Stawell GiftQuiet to start with. Toilets could be improved. Manager l found helpful
Worst experience. Filthy cabin, old tshirt found under a matress protector. Rude manager terrifed the family daily over lights and aircon being on, entered cabin unannounced and uninvited...and told us about these raids. We felt like naughty prisoners not paying guests.
Nice little Caravan Park lovely friendly service
Awesome Place to visit .. to everything is in near by .. take some pillos for gud sleeping
Cheap nightly fee, caravan park had wifi. Owners were nice and hospitable, however be cautious when booking online as payments do not go through immediately and this may cause confusion and delay check in process. Linen was extra charge.
Fantastic park and park manager cant do enough to look after you
Quite nice setup. Just outside Stawell town centre. Lota of trees. Swiming pool.
Good place to stay
The information they provide on their website does not match the information that you get when you rang up I saw that this was a pet friendly pretty I rang up and I was told under no circumstances I was allowed to have my pets here so I think this caravan park shin not be allowed to be up and running as well I stay there once before the maintenance on the pool was not good enough as I nearly fell into the pool I went to get out of it due to the fact they had not get maintenance up to their poor all they caravans
Stawell Park Caravan Park was an awsesome place to come to after a dissapointing experience elsewhere. It is far enough from town to give a rural feel while being close enough so if you need to buy drinks its just a 10 minute drive in, the park is nicely spread out and there is plenty of space, the sites are spaced apart so you actually have space to stretch, We went in peak season around New Years even and were the only ones camping. Had a great experience with the very very friendly and supportive owners.Nice walking tracks at the back and in general a very goood place. Owners are very friendly and have a nice sense of humour. The only downside if any is that they dont allow campfires at all. Which is a bummer wish they atleast allowed fires in a designated pit... But anyway great place to go.Highly recommended.
