New York, NY 10004, United States, Garfield
Iconic National Monument opened in 1886, offering guided tours, a museum & city views.
We went there on Monday, still every ship on cruise been overcrowded. Book in advance recommended strongly!! The cruise went fast, ferries go often between New York City-Statue Liberty-Ellis Ureland-NYC , so very flexible how long you stay on each place. Loved the tour, very nice service too. Liberty view was spectacular!🗽🗽
11/20/2022Im not a patriotic person but hearing the stories about those that followed the beacon of this statue was something that moved me. It reminds us that though we are not perfect, we strive to do better as we continue forward. We just have to keep trying and not give into the pressures of individual greatness but focus more on united greatness. We had a great tour guide, Sarah, from Viator.
This is obviously the top of the attractions in New York!Going to the Statue of Liberty is a beautiful trip that starts by taking a cruise (boatfrom the lower manhattan to her island. The boat circuit includes the Statute of Liberty and Ellis Island Museum; they are both great but Mrs Liberty will steal the show. This is one of the top monuments in the United States, not only for her history and beauty, but most importantly for what it’s represent FREEDOM.Do not hesitate to visit this monument because the experience will last for ever!100% recommended 👍
Amazing place, the whole island has a great atmosphere with lots of families and groups having a good time. We were lucky with a beautiful sunny day (In November!).We had a beautiful view of the lower Manhatten and New Jersey. As for the statue, she was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were helpful and friendly. An absolute must do visit!
I found this to be historically fun. Ellis Island so many stories. The faces from all over the world. If you have 4 hours this is great. Not for children material is mature. Lady Liberty and a terrific beautiful day. Parking is hard to get to but was ample. On to the world trade center.
Very beautiful site... We went to crown its a tight stairwell to reach crown. So you much be ready to climb. The crown and its very small at top but you can take pictures/ video. I didnt want to take pictures bc it was to tight for my comfort. But it was a great experience. The crown tickets are extra. Everyone should visit here in their lifetime..
Honestly one of my favorite things to do in NYC. Lots to see in the museum, great views of the city and tons to learn. Save yourself some time and book your time slot and tickets online. I went on a weekday 1pm and lines, while long go by really fast. There is food and gift shops on the island as well as snack and drinks on the ferry. You’ll easy spend 2-4 hours between here and Ellis island so plan accordingly.
This was another bucket list destination of our New York city trip. Best to buy your tickets straight from city experiences. The Crown access was recently opened in October but youll need to book those tickets a month or more in advance. Best to check availability for your dates soon at you know your travel plans. The price seems to be the same whether you book just the ferry or include additional access. The crown was opened only a few days before our visit so we didnt have enough advance notice to get those tickets.
A Historical landmark and staple of New York.Definitely recommend getting tickets in advance. If your looking for tickets for the Crown your gonna want to put off your trip little after January. I tried getting tickets for it but booked through January. The pedestal was worth the ticket price. Stunning view of New York and the surrounding islands. Id say go the stairs route its not to bad time.Walking the island itself was pretty great and not too busy. I got in on the 9am boat and Id say maybe stick to getting in early. Less crowded and easier time for photos.Ferry ride over was good and quick. The top gets full but youll still get good views.
The Statue of Liberty is a must see for any tourist, period. They have a nice cafeteria and the pedestal tickets (which are very goodwere worth buying, bringing us up there, looking out the balcony, and coming back in with, going down and being greeted with a small hall full of Statue of Liberty content. The gift shop is nice, the ferry (called a “cruise” is fine and is what you expect, a ferry), and the cafeteria being fine, my only complaint being that it is a bit dirty and the lack of straws which is probably to be “eco-friendly” which could be substituted with paper straws. The complaints can’t really be dealt with though as it’s probably contracted out.
Iconic must-see landmark, not only in New York but in the USA! I came from New Jersey and could come closer to the Statue of Liberty in a tourist boat trip from NY side. I also have a wider upper view from level 102 of World Trade Center, One World Observatory, which was very interesting!
Great tourist attraction!!I had an amazing experience. Even tho the lines were LONG they moved fast. Information at the museum was very informative and intriguing. The view from the ferry ride was breathtaking. I bought my ticket at the park that wasnt an hassle at all.
Who doesnt know about Ms. Liberty? Run by the national parcs services liberty island is a nice, well arranged, really affordable and packed with location based insights museum. On top of that package youll get a hell of a view. If you can try to get a crown reserve ticket as it has opened again after a 2 and a half year reconstruction period and if you cant, buy a pedestal ticket at least: it is only .30$. Take your time to get as much as enjoyment as you can possibly squeeze out of it, at least 2 hours; and bring a camera.
On of my favorite monuments. I always love to visit with family. Never feel bored to visit here.Parking 🅿️ pass is $7 for whole day. Visit in the park or the with same parking pass. The ferry ⛴️ service is good. very neat and clean. I like their service. Before boarding to ferry there is a security check. I hope you guys know how the security checks work. So be aware that. Thanks 😊
An iconic place and a must visit if you are ever in New York. We took the ferry from New Jersey as we were told that the ferry from New York would be crowded and yes, we later saw that the New York Ferry was crowded. The last ferry from the Island leaves for the mainland at 5 pm. Restrooms are available. There was also an ice-cream stall. We couldnt get tickets to enter the statue of Liberty as it was booked much in advance.
The Statue of Liberty was majestic, and absolutely incredible. My family had a terrific time, even better than what anyone expected!! Go see it!! Celebrate America!!! Appreciate how we are ALL immigrants to this great country!! We saw it from the Staten Island ferry Friday night, perfect views and weather, and then we went to the actual island to see the statue in person Saturday morning. Freaking amazing!!
Seeing it in front of your eyes is totally different from pictures, it’s amazing. You can buy tickets on site, it wasn’t crowded but I recommend buying it in advance just in case. The tour is worth it. I also recommend visiting the island on which the statue stands, don’t just stay on the boat and go around it.
Countries giving each other gifts. Works of art being shared across oceans. People using money to build memories for others..Humans are creatures who like symbols - and we can all agree this statue is definitely a symbol. I would say a symbol of humanity at our finest. But, I remember what my art teacher told me when I was a kid. "A real piece of art will mean different things to different people.".The statue of liberty (enlightenmentall started with one idea and boom. I was amazed to learn all the hard work and great people working together..Recommendations for your trip -1. Book your tickets in advance. Seriously.2. Come early and explore3. Bring your curiosity, wonder, and snacks.Lots of options to choose so I used the links provided from their official website and was happy with Ferry ride. I came from New Jersey. Parking was a breeze.
This was a great place to visit! I hadnt been there since I was a young person, so it was all new to me! We loved the boat ride over, and seeing the Statue was awesome! We loved looking at the New York skyline as we passed by! Everyone was very nice and concerned for my partners recent knee replacement, even asking him if he needed a wheelchair, (here was a bit of walking involved).
AWESOME experience! The ferry to the Statue of Liberty is an outstanding trip by itself! The Museum close by is very interactive, not so big and with very interesting information. Gift shop has a lot of options! The only bad thing is that, during the weekends, can be very crowded, so going from Manhattan to the Statue of Liberty can take a lot of time due to long waiting lines. Buy tickets in advance!
The Statue of Liberty is a must see, if you visit New York! It is so much bigger in person than you can imagine from the pictures! The tickets that we bought included access to the pedestal, which was cool. Be sure you plan a couple of hours to visit the statue and Ellis Island. Definitely worthwhile!
I mean what do you say about such an iconic location. There was quite a crowd as to be expected, However, it did not impact the trip. It was quite a pleasant day, but the wind can be brisk as the island has little in the way of protection. If you would like to visit the pedestal or crown, book well in advance (+3 Daysas a day of departure you will likely be left disappointed. The Ferry from Battery park is a great ride, but does move a lot for a mono hull, so be cautious if you are travelling with someone who suffers motion sickness.
Great place to visit especially if your traveling to NYC as a tourist. Nice ride on the ferry to the Liberty island. Wouldnt recommend if its too cold out but sunny warm days are great.Beautiful views of the city al as i from the ferry ride
A great day out. We had pre bought tickets for the day with a stop at Ellis Island also included. The queue was small for the boat and we were seated quickly. Good photo opportunities are to be had on the boat of liberty as you approach and then once arrived a little patience as you all alight the boat.Once on the island there is extra charges for going up the statue which was full on the day of our visit. The island is impeccably clean and the gardens well cared for.The restaurant has a mixture of hot and cold snacks but be prepared for a shock with a filled roll, drink and a packet of crisps for my wife and I was around $50! So my advice bring a packed lunch!.A small gift shop with various items and a much needed toilet block are also ok the island.A great iconic place to visit whilst your in New York.
Do not know how it is possible to visit New York and not visit the Statue of Liberty. Without a doubt one of the most iconic landmarks of the city.Would recommend getting a ticket to climb up into the crown. It is very small and crowded up there, with a tight narrow staircase to get up to, but we’ll worth the climb, there isn’t much a a view at the top as it mostly faces away from the city, but we’ll worth it just to say you have done so!
It was awesome! Go alone or with bunch of family or friends. You would not disappoint. Pack your meals and spend good time sitting in greens and watching NY skyline.Take time to visit the Statue of Liberty Museum. Must see 10 min act on history of Statue of Liberty. Several antiques that involved in building it are placed for viewers.Coming to Statue of Liberty, about 300 ft raised from ground, beautifully sculpted by Barthold. Magnificent in every angle. Visitors from all over world make it look like true icon of Liberty, watching immigrants coming in and going out of USA.
We really enjoyed visiting the Statue of Liberty! We went to the top of the pedestal, but the crown is closed due to ventilation issues and the ongoing threat of COVID. My daughters really enjoyed it though. We climbed the 215 steps to get to the pedestal and it was well worth it.
My wife and I very much enjoyed going to see the Statue of Liberty. Would definitely recommend that you do it early in the day and on a weekday so it isnt so busy and as it will take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours depending on how fast you read to get through all the exhibits. Many things happened to those who were simply looking for a better life and also to those who werent. Lets all study a little history so that we do not repeat the past.
We took city cruise approximately 3 hours amazing view.. started from pier 86 and we saw Statue of Liberty, Jersey city skyline, few college university, old ny subway… must visit around sunset if you enjoy history view.. took $5. Update wit city pass
It does have a historical significance. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Your presence around the tower will definitely bring you back in time and will make you appreciate the depth of history it contains. But in terms of structure, its just another old building. I might be wrong but theres not a lot of recreation around this place. Just a park, like any other. No offence intended though.
The ferry came by every 20 min to pick up and drop off. Lines moved very quickly. Once you get to the Island with the Statue of Liberty, if you have luggage, you can put it away in lockers and explore the island more comfortably! If you want to go up the statue of Liberty you will need separate tickets for that.
It was awesome! An essential, great day out for $24 each, gets you the boat rides each way including visiting Liberty Island and Eliss island. Nice and peaceful here. Good museum on the history of it with exhibits. Highly recommend this one. Masks are still required 1 Sept 2022. Xxx
We stayed in New York for 4 days and we just had to visit the Statue of liberty. The prices were really good 2 adults and 1 child $60 which included the ferry ride there and back. I ride a mobility scooter as I have arthritis in my spine and was concerned about getting on and off the ferry but the people who work on the ferries couldnt have been more helpful if they tried, they even repositioned the whole ferry so it was easier for me to get on I felt like royalty lol. Definitely worth every penny and she is totally breath taking up close xx
A must go place when visiting NYC. I recommend to buy tickets in advance and to bring 25 cent coin because you cannot bring your backpack into statue of liberty and lock up in the locker and you will need 25 cent to lock your stuffs. The place itself is not that exciting for me. But I enjoyed the trip to this place. Spare at least 3 hours for this trip. Dont be rush otherwise it would not be fun.
Splendid views of Lady Liberty from the Liberty Island. Its indeed a National Monument.... Your visit to New York is incomplete without a visit to Liberty Island to see the magnificence of Lady Liberty statue....Has a strong history behind the erection of this statue. If you bring a guide, their Mattson would be just thrilling!Bonus is the opportunity to visit Ellis Island also on our way back from Liberty Island (to Battery Park Cruise Station at Manhattan). And, the experience of going by cruise to Liberty Island is just great!
Its very great place to visit. The historical aspect , the museum and the pedestal are amazing to watch out. People can easily spend close to 5-6 hours nearly. The food is also very good available over there. Definitely worth the watch and spend time with family.
Statue of Liberty is one of the iconic location and must visit. We had booked the ferry directly for the official website. We started early to avoid the rush and heat. We took the ferry for “The Battery” and returned to the same location. You can take the ferry from New Jersey side (Liberty State Parkalso. The view from the ferry is spectacular. Also be ready for airport like security check before entering for ferry.
One cant view a review for the statue of Liberty. Its one of the most famous monuments in the world. You can book tickets online and can take the ferry both from NYC and New Jersey. If you book in advance you can take entry tickets to the crown also.Important thing to note while coming back the ferry stops at Ellis Island museum. If you arent interested in the museum then dont get down from the ferry and directly go to NYC/NJ.Getting down and then going back again can take upto 1 hr sometimes.
My dream to visit the Statue of Liberty, it’s great place that have enough space to walk, take pictures and enjoy of the manhattan’s view. For me was a stressful to take the ferry because you have to wait for long line and you don’t have any shade while your waiting and the waiting is a totally a disaster when you go and when you come back.I recommend up the pedestal and if you can take the stairs, it’s better because you can admire the big structure and how it’s been preserved. Also you can enjoy the place and relaxing with less people around.
Wow, thats simply all I can say about my visit to the State of Liberty. You see pictures, you see it from a distance, but to actually be right below. It was amazing. Take time to reflect on all of the immigrants that passed through that area on their way to enter The United States. Take time to reflect on what the Statue of Liberty means. I would highly recommend visiting the island that the statue is on versus doing a boat tour around it.
Its the Statue of Liberty, what else is there to say?Make sure you have a mask. You need one to pass through the security screening center (8/9/2022). Guys on the street are selling them for a lot if you forget one. A better option, go to the Ticket sales for the statue tour. They have them for $1 each.
It’s indeed a ‘Must visit iconic place to visit” if you travel to New York.one of my favorite and best place to visit. I was fortunate enough to get an access to pedestal and enjoy/ explore this historic statue. A true striking beauty.
If you visit the New York City, then you must visit the Statue of Liberty. There is cruise to enter the Liberty Island and Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. Cruise ride is fun and you can able to see the statue from the different sides and also beautiful buildings.I felt very happy to see the Statue of Liberty. Its the best place to spend time and also to capture beautiful moments. It will take 3 to 4 hours to visit the monument and museum. We had food in the cafeteria. The food is good. There will be wait time to enter the cruise, so its better to arrive early and visit it in daytime, then you can able spend more time here. The museum is also good. I loved this place.
Favorite part of my trip. The view of the city from the ferry was amazing. Only eclipsed by the view of Lady Liberty as you approach the island. The 30 minute tour we did beforehand was also excellent and I highly recommend.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to go up to the crown, but it was still a great time! The boat over was great, amazing views of the skyline and of the statue when approaching. It was really cool to visit the exhibits at Ellis Island - definitely worth a visit!
We visited on a Sunday and travel to Liberty Park was not crowded. Even with general admission there is plenty to see. Be sure to visit the theater for a series of brief, historical videos to put things in context as well as taking a brief break from all the activities. The gift shop has all things statue of liberty themed. There is a cafe on site with indoor and outdoor seating.
$23 for ticket,I would say I have a good time in here,a lot of people traveling statue of liberty. When you finish Wall Street, you just go down street, buy the tickets in the near park. Don’t go yellow one, someone told me yellow more expensive. When you buy tickets go to line, maybe need waiting half hour. I also put schedule in here. You can check. Mark your plan.have a good day! Enjoy your time and life. Thank you 😊
Iconic statue to see if you are in NYC, at least good to see once. My local connection here said that locals hardly ever go to see the statue because its 99% tourists that are wanting to see it, which is understandable. The ferry ride is super fun and gives you great glimpses from all different sides. Youll definitely be able to see the torch and Lady Liberty up close. We booked a tour that allowed us to walk up in the statue and see the NYC skyline from her crown. If you are able to do that, its a super cool experience. However, make sure you are not claustrophobic - it gets extremely tight up there and there are very tiny, spiraling stairs. It can get very tight if youre walking up to the very top.I would highly recommend taking the ferry tour. However, if youre not dying to see it - if you want to just see it from a distance - it takes a lot of time to ride the ferry. Otherwise, still very cool to see if youre in NYC.
The boat ride from Manhattan goes around the statue so that you get a complete view of liberty from the front. The loading and unloading of the boat takes some time but it is worth it. We paid to go into the pedestal and 199 stairs to the top was worth it. They have a full security checkup before you get on the boat and also before you go into the pedestal. The crown was shut on our visit. Highly recommended the visit. Included is Ellis Island but in order to see that as well, it is better to go earlier in the day as after 2 pm you wont have time to see all of it.
What a great place!! Very nice 👍🏻The cruise ride on the sea and the majestic view of sea water it’s awesome. The Statue of Liberty 🗽 one of the place need to be visit in life time. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. Had very nice time with my family. The park is maintained very well and nice 👍🏻Do visit the place. Take helicopter ride as well for next level of experience.
