State History Museum - History museum in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan
Easily the best History museum in Central Asia! I asked for a ticket with my best Russian accent and got it for 150 som (I was afraid to check the price list in case that raise suspicion that Im not local:)Everything in the museum is in Kyrgyz, Russian and English, the exposition is well arranged and informative - everything you want to see!I spend more than 2 hours browsing through the floors, reading the touchscreen panels and watching the videos. Highly recommend.
Cool muse am, very interesting
Some more about Manas legend 😃
A really beautiful museum, inside and out. The architecture of the building is beautiful, and the exhibits are well put together and informative. For 300 som, it was worth the price. It’s air conditioned too!
Really good compact museum that goes through the history of Kyrgyzstan in a tidy and informative manor. Translations on every poster to English and Russian
From all the State History Museums I visited in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan included, the Kyrgiz one is the most comprehended that tell you the story of the nation and its people. Its not about history ,long or short, but the way this recently renovated excellent establishment present the facts and stages of the Kyrgiz history and the land that today forms the modern country. English narration and explanations are escorting all exhibits making the tour easily comprehensive for an English speaking tourist. This is an excellent museum and Tashkent state history museum should follow their example as soon as possible.
Very well curated
Big showrooms with valuable exhibits.
National Museum Kyrgyzstan or state museum Kyrgyzstan
Effectively curated museum, fosters comprehension of Kyrgyzian history. Starts from stone age and comes to current era through 3 cohesively connected floors. We were disappointed that there was no museum shop, we were looking forward to it. It comes as a surprise that guides do not recommend it strongly enough. Finally, fantastic building with marble and wood elements.
Very nicely curated and well maintained museum
Interesting national history museum. Large collection. Price was 150 SOM for one adult. English descriptions are available. 3 floors filled with ancient artifacts. The building itself is also impressive!
I really wanted to see that museum. I went on Monday but it was closed (like most of museums). But i went back on Friday and it was also closed, apparently cleaning day... Why dont they clean the museum on Monday and close another opening day !?? Idk. I am very disappointed.
Very disappointed. They ruined the old museum with their renovations.
Now I can strongly recommend to visit National historical museum in Bishkek. The museum modernized but artifacts are not many.
Excellent, Superb planing and locationBeautiful surroundings.
Great place to visit in Bishkek! Recommend 100%!
If you want to learn about Kyrgyz land from the time of Paleolithic. They also have the schedule of free excursions in Russian and Kyrgyz languages
N A T I O N A L H I S T O R Y M U S E U M O F T H E K Y R G Y Z R E P U B L I CThe nation is rich in history as they dates back from Genghis Khan, the caravans and the Great Silk Route. The artifacts and cave carvings as well as the colorful costumes is fascinating! Having different injections from different cultures, they sure have a myriad of interesting facts a traveler who visits their country should come to know.And of course, the center of attraction is the yurt!!#SoMuchToDiscover #ThisIskyrgyzstan
Def. Worth a stop in if you have free time. Ancient artifacts up to modern warfare. Great architecture
First time of visiting State History Museum. It was a great deal of you want to understand more of this nations culture. Worth a visit.
Museum full of historical objects.
Interesting exposition about Kyrgyzstan history. Clear building. I think they should do more interactive interactions for visitors (e.g. historical clips, audio-guide, etcand open the souvenir store.
Must visit this place
Modern and beautiful.
Its newly renovated and is a bit raw in places, but overall, a beautiful collection, well described, and logically placed.
Best experience and good for holidays Short trips outing in central Bishkek nice location
It was a great experience, has many historic and cultural things including the past Kyrgyz culture, Turkish era, Soviet Unions era collections etc. Id recommend.
Wonderful displays. Some had English descriptions. I would recommend anyone to see it in person and take the family.
The museum was just incredible!
Was closed my first time Visiting, Open now, Had a great time with friends
Generally this place is much better after the renovations.
Kind of expected more knowing how much money was invested in renovations of the museum
It is very good place for learning Kyrgyzstan history. History explaining is awesome.
Finally a museum up to the world standards, definitely lacks vintage Soviet vibes but we have plenty museums other than this one that provide Soviet atmosphere, it wont impress a seasoned traveller but it provides a flashy and polished experience for local populace.
They describes mostly about early times and almost none about 20th century, but it is good
It feels like the museum is still in soft opening. Cafe and souvenir shop is not yet open. As a foreigner, they charged me 300 Som.Worth a visit. Things will probably make more sense if you join a guided tour.
It is the museum of corruption. If you follow the news, you can just see by your own eyes how much money were stolen during renovation.
Its just opened after long time
I visited here at 07.21.2021still closed.
Still close and the sign doesn’t clear! I walked all of the entrance then understood it was closed!
I not found the entrace, one side huge square with soldiers, other park with Lenin.
The building and the surrounding area is beautiful and you will find people around.. I didnt get a chance to go inside the museum, planning to do it next time.. the statues outside the museum are beautiful too..
Beautiful and relevant to Kyrgyz history after reconstruction with multimedia screens. My favorite is the ancient cave, interactive display where you can place things in the Yurt based on men and women sides, jewelry collection! It was announced that the Museum will have a cafe and souvenir shop. Must see!
Its been closed for over a year for renovation. It looks very pretty now from outside. Located right at the main Ala Too square. The area is full of flowers and fountains.
