Star Plunge in Thermopolis

Great place to swim for surprisingly low prices. The water is nice and warm, plus with all the minerals feels great on the skin. The outdoor pool is my favorite, as there is nothing better than sitting in warm water as the cold air blows over you. The outdoor pool also has a tall diving board which is quite the thrill. The small slide coming into the pool is also very fun.

It was a really neat experience, if ever in the area again we will definitely go back.

Warning if you are anywhere near the recommended 230lb weight limit for the indoor slide avoid it. I’m 215lbs 6’5” and launched inside the tube. Was fun till that point. Otherwise had a great time and will return.

Nothing better than all natural water to swim and relax in. Plenty of pools to be in, jets and slides.

I love all the renovations they have done! Swimming in the pool is always so relaxing, if I didnt turn into a prune Id probably soak in it all day 😅

It was very enjoyable, how ever at our own risk the walk up to the outdoor slide was VERY HOT. I would highly suggest water shoes before walking up there.

We enjoyed our swim. The facility is dated and well past it’s prime. The water slide was fun and the water is deep.You will enjoy the trip.

This was a very nice end to our vacation experience in Thermopolis. The girl at front desk was a little harsh, kinda like she hated her job. All the lifeguards were doing there jobs and doing it well. Place was clean and accommodating in every way. Go check out this gem if your in beautiful Thermopolis. Thanks Star Plunge!!! Have been to Star Plunge many times - trip this week so disappointing. Floors of entire facility filthy - especially womens changing rooms. There is no reason you couldnt buy equipment to clean better!

Headed up to Thermopolis for a vacation and decided to try out the famous “Star Plunge”. We have heard nothing but great things about it but we wanted to see for ourselves. When we walked through the front doors we were immediately greeted with smiling faces and professionals who took pride in the establishment. The pricing is reasonable and the locker rooms were very well kept. The pool was a relaxing experience and the vapor cave (steam roomwas just what I needed after a stressful week at work. It’s for all ages, I saw young kids along with older couples there for the same reason.. RELAXATION!! When we left we decided we should grab some apparel to our surprise they had a ton of options along with new swim suits and floatation devices for kids. My wife and I decided on buying the Buffalo shirt with “Do it for the Plunge” scripted on the back.I guess what I’m trying to say is that this is a first class establishment and my family will be back.

***HEALTH HAZARD....Be careful coming here. They had a sewer problem while we were swimming today and didnt even shut down the bathrooms. They just let us go in to lockers where there was standing sewer water which I didnt discover til dressing. Then after letting staff (managerknow she didnt bother to even put up signs or attend to the situation she just went about blowing up a floaty after looking at it. When i went back in grabbing the rest of the stuff out of the locker so my kids could change in the car there were kids standing in ankle deep SEWER water and she was blowing up a floaty and there was still NO SIGN. .....this is a huge HEALTH HAZARD. IF YOU GET SICK AFTER ATTENDING STAR PLUNGE ON 07/06/2022 you know why.

Its a unique place to visit! It has an outdoor and a indoor pool. They drain both pools alternative every week. The water source is from a hot springs near by. The indoor pool has a distinct odor caused by the minerals in the hot springs but you get used to the smell and it doesnt interfere with enjoying the warm water. Kids enjoy going up and sliding down water slide (in both areas).They also have hot tub area, jacuzzis and a "Vapor Cave".They could use some chairs around the indoor area to take a breather from the warm water. They do have seating areas but they are hard surfaces without back support.They also have lockers, changing area, showers and restrooms which are kept clean. And the prices are very affordable!

Drove from Pennsylvania to Thermopolis to show my home twon to my kido and show him some of the awesomeness things I did as a kid. One of them was swimming in a pool the temple of bather water late into the evening and watching the stars come out. Come to find out that they close their out side pool at 6 on Tuesday nights. They did not offer any kind of discount. The older women being the counter had a crappie aditude and was down right rude to her younger co-worker. I guess if you live here its not a big deal, but if you drive 30 hours, make sure you get here on Tuesday. This place has lot its cram of year gone by.

Looks and feels like a 70s water theme park, but with an added sulfuric smell! (Its not so bad when youre outside, promise. Could use a larger locker room and more showers, and a bit friendlier staff, but its a cool site!

Fun hot water springs park. Several pools of various sizes. Young kids will like the slide going into the outdoor pool. There are two orher larger slides for older kids on up. Fun place and fun experience.

All in for one price: waterslides, hot-like-a-lobster pools, vapor cave, high dive for jumping, plunge pools, indoor and outdoor. Comfortable chaise lounges on the terraces. Worth the 5 hour drive!

Thermopolis is a hidden gem, must visit and stay Wyoming town. The Star Plunge is the best hot springs pool for all ages to enjoy we’re ever visited. A beautiful relaxing oasis to relax in the pools, take a steam while the kids enjoy the amazing slides.

Mineral hot springs at their finest. Indoor, outdoor pools, three slides to enjoy, hot tubs, all for $15/person. We went on a Saturday mid-day and the water was fantastic. Took the smallest and largest slides, enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tubs. Facility is clean, well-maintained, all around enjoyable. Staff is warm, friendly and helpful. Cant wait to visit again.

Hotsprings Park is a gorgeous place to visit. It offers bath houses, parks, a walk thru the mineral hill and Star Plunge. Star Plunge was awesome, heated hot tubs, vapor cave, multiple slides, pools. Super clean and friendly staff. It was a great visit to Star Plunge. Highly recommend. About fifteen per person so make sure u plan to stay for awhile during the day. Unfortunately i didnt take any pictures.

We enjoyed "taking the waters" at Star Plunge. We tried two of the slides, the shortest and the mid-range, which was very fast. Also a couple of the hot tubs. It was a relaxing and enjoyable day.

Really fun, clean, nice hot springs. The slides need some upkeep, but the hot water and pools are awesome.

We love coming to this place, its fun, family friendly, staff is wonderful. We used to "live" here and as life changes so did our visits however staff talk to us like friends and family would.

This is a great place for the whole family! Defiantly, worth the money! You can stamp your hand, coming and going all day as you please!Two slides, indoor and outdoor pools/hot tubs & a steam/vapor room! We ate lunch at the state park across the street!

We came here last on our adventure to try all 4 hotsprings and it was our favorite! The check in process was more updated, the water seemed cleaner, the diving board and slides were really fun and the lobster pot was soooo relaxing.

My kids and I always have a great time when we come to star plunge. We have been here multiple times in the majority of the times the facility is clean. The only thing I would like to see changed is the option to reserve an area for birthday parties, even if its only a 2-hour reservation time, especially in the winter when the outdoor area is too chilly for a party.

One of my favorite hot springs now. The steam room is really nice with a hot geyser coming up in the middle of the room. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind even though we got into town super late. Lots of lockers and individual showers to clean up. Cant wait to go back!

Came about a month ago, overall good experience. Pretty clean and well taken care of. There was 3 life guards on duty, which was nice to see. The two younger ones were very good with the kids, and seemed to care about their job. The other one not so much, but overall I’d recommend taking your kids here. Plenty of activities to do.

Honestly love this place, there’s not a year that goes by where I don’t visit it. And every year it seems to get better and better, great place to bring your entire family or even yourself, it’s incredibly relaxing and soothes out your soul. Here’s some photos I’ve taken. Did a solo run to Thermopolis Hot Springs from about an hour away during my trip to Sturgis. Rode to the Natural Hot Springs and walked around, rode through the wildlife park nearby but did not see the Bison.After the exploring I soaked at Star Plunge. They had dressing rooms with lockers and you could rent a lock. They had indoor and outdoor pools. A thunderstorm came through and they closed the outside pool for an hour and then reopened it up.A wonderful place to soak and relax in the warm waters!

My family really enjoyed our time here. Between going down the slide, to jumping off the diving board, we were wore out. The only down side was the pricesAdults (5 to 64) $15.50Children (4 and under) $7.00Seniors (65 and over) $12.50But this is for all day. We got there early, brought a lunch in the cooler and got to enjoy the day even longer.

They have an outside for hot weather and an inside for cold, but you can go wherever you want. One slide is city water and is fast, open, with a mat. The other is enclosed and ends inside the the building.The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Laid back atmosphere make it even better.You can buy a suit and rent a towel so you can just stop in anytime. We will return.

There is an indoor and outdoor pool. An indoor hot tub called the lobster boil that can exceed 104 degrees according to the sign. The indoor pool was 95 degrees from what I was told. The indoor pool had two bubbling areas similar to a hot tub on the shallow end that were perfect for kids. Outside next to the pool was another hour tub that was 4 feet deep and a small kids slide into the outdoor pool. There is a tube slide and also an outdoor slide that requires a foam matt to slide on.The mineral water turned my silver necklace gold and then a rainbow colored tarnish.

An incredible experience! My husband and I really enjoyed how thorough the manager was at the beginning, as we had no idea what we were walking into! Friendly faces all day and SOO relaxing and clean. Cant wait to travel here again!

Manager Taylor was absolutely phenomenal, she and her amazing staff made us feel special and her attitude was absolutely outstanding. She definitely made our stay more enjoyable and answered all of our questions without hesitation. However, with that said. I highly recommend that people bring their own towels, soap, and other essential items. Oh yeah, if youve never been there before, you will definitely get used to the incredibly powerful sulphur smell.

Really great place for a day visit with the family! We had a blast!! Facility was clean, Staff was friendly and pricing was about what you would expect. Water slides were really fun but they wont let you ride them tandem with the aller kids so that bummed my daughter out a bit. All in all worth the visit. Theyre open year round as well which us really neat!

The Star Plunge was amazing and the woman at the desk was very helpful and friendly. We got free stickers!

We come here every year with our family to just enjoy the water. This yeah the staff and lifeguards were a lot more friendly and helpful than years past. The water wasnt as nice warm or clean as it has been which was a little unsettling and disappointing. Plenty of changing rooms but only 3 showers that never got hot sadly. Prices are a little high but you are able to come and go as you please as long as you get stamped which makes staying all day easy. Overall still had a good time on the 3 slides and in the 3 pools with fun for all our family!

Great time with family. Love the price especially since you can stamp yourself out and go back later! Very nice employees and kids had a fantastic time. Very clean and absolutely adorable swimming suits to buy! Definitely will be making more trips in future!

Love this place! Really something for everyone to do here. What a blast! Big fast slides for the excited littles, large, bubbly "Lobster Pot" for the tired adults! Indoor and outdoor! That diving board is much higher from the top! The lifeguards are friendly and helped cheer on my hesitant son to jump his first time! Shade in the outdoor pools and small slide and fountain is quite a thrill to watch the wee ones discover fun there! Many amenities you might have forgotten or hadnt thought of to help the fun along! Also, probably 95% of those plants are real and living their best life and adding to the pleasant atmosphere. Dont miss this, if youre here or planning a trip!

Beautiful inside and outside pool with a few water slides and diving board. Not only is a pool available, hot tub, spa, tanning beds and small arcade. This is a mineral pool so once you get over the smell its fun. If you forget your swimsuit they have most average to small sizes.The view from the outside pool is breath taking.

Great place to relax!We were a little bummed that they kicked us out at 8:45 - they close at 9:00 pm. But other than that it was wonderful!

Overall great experience with the hot spring water. You can definitely tell the mineral smell. The pool was not very crowded but it was a hot sunny day so it offered a great relaxing time. They had 3 solar shades that helped shade one side of the pool. The high dive was nice and the kids enjoyed the slides. The steam room was for 18+ but we couldnt handle the smell. The indoor slide I think needs an update but overall the entire experience was great.

Not used to the smell but overall its a good place to spend the day with your family. Good music playing. Friendly staff. Little over price, but as to be expected at a tourist destination.

Cool place to stop and relax when you are in or around the area or just passing through. We didnt bring our swimsuits but that was ok. If you dont have anything to swimsuits they can sell you some or just rent you a suit and a towel. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool and the same goes for hot tubs. There is an indoor slide and an out door one as well . There is a small vapor cave too, thats where i spent most of my time.Cant beat it for the price.

Always a relaxing time in the lobster pots. Staff is usually very friendly. Try the steam cave. I have back problems and the hot mineral water almost always makes me feel better than I did coming in...

We went today and have gone many times before as we are originally from the area. The facilities were clean and staff was friendly. They have a kiddie pool (insideand small outdoor slide for the littles. They have a hot tub and there is a tall tube slide that is super fun and if they have enough people they run the white slide that you use a mat on and you go super fast (its also the only cool water in the park)!My 6 year old went down the little slide that she loves and cut her finger pretty bad, figured it was a freak accident. Went upfront and they sprayed it with hydrogen poroxide and gave her a paper towel told her to sit out for 10 minutes. Was told no bandaid as it would probably fall off anyway... (I get it bandaid In Pools are grossafter 15 minutes and it was still bleeding I went up and they gave me a fabric bandaid so she could at least sit in the kiddie pool. After awhile it stopped and she was back to playing and finally got the courage to go back on the slide.She went back on it and was cut in 2 more places. At this point I told her lets get more bandaids and go home.We went up front and the guy asked what slide she was on I said the little white one... He said in defense its because she was putting her hand on the sides of the slide. I wasnt nearly as upset that she was cut as I was with the excuse he gave . There should be nothing on a slide that should cut a childs hand... I would have been perfectly fine with a Im so sorry that happened, Ill have someone check it out. But the excuse wasnt needed and made me more upset than anything.

This is a fun place to swim and in all seasons. In summer the large pool and water slide are open. In all seasons the indoor hot pools are open.The facility is dated but cared for. The hot mineral water is wonderful.More shade is needed outside and the business should except credit cards.Recommended.

The Star Plunge is a pretty good getaway for a family. I think the prices are a little high especially when not all the slides are working. The kids enjoy the slides and both the inside and outside pools. You cannot dive into the outside pool which I think is a bummer, but I am sure it is for safety reasons. I do enjoy the sauna room, but I cant last as long as some of those old dudes.

Family fun in a safe, clean, code of the west Wyoming way. The slides are amazing. The hot pools are as good as Budapest. Wyoming is fortunate to have public resources from energy production, though this is easily criticized by many. Within and beyond politics and this hot and fantastic example of a private business, the Wyoming public parks like Hot Springs State Park exemplifies governments role and Wyoming pride. It’s also why those raised here will quickly mention not to tell anyone how great it all is here, but Thermopolis and Star Plunge are ready and willing to show you some Ol’ Wyo hospitality.
