Stampeder Motel - in Williams Lake, Canada
Lovely 😍 place to stay ❤
The rooms are so gross. Smell of mold & decay. I slept in my own sleeping bag and didnt dare use the shower. Enter at your own risk.
Thought service be more friendly after I only got back 50 % for money back after canceling hotel 1 hour after purchase
Everything is good with my staying here so far, they give me a bigger room with a king size bed, as well friendly staff and reasonable price for 2 Nights, my only suggestion is that The rooms needs to be renovated/updated, but everything else is fine…
We chose this place for 1 night as there were not many option left for the budget we had. The good part: the receptionist lady gave us a discount as we were not going to use the kitchen in suite (we didn’t need kitchen at first place but apparently they didn’t have other rooms available for us). This place is falling apart and is run down. Furniture is in poor conditions, flat pillows, damaged floor and walls. Needs renovation.Room felt dirty. When we turned on water in the shower, the smell from it was disgusting. In my opinion this place should have been shut down for renovation.Would not recommend it.
This place is a total dive. I wouldnt stay there again if it was the last place on earth. It is falling apart and in need of major repair.
Staff nice, curtains thin let all the light in at night, beds hard, pillows flat, bathroom floor rotten, furniture all old and needs replacing, very outdated. Does have mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave, tv, and free wifi.
It was a nice and quiet and comfortable stay
They have bed bugs!!! Stayed 1 night and I have bumps all over the back of my head, do not recommend staying here
Very nice place to spend a day or two walking distance to shopping areas
Bed bugs in one of the beds in first room. And it took awhile for the heat to work. But you can pay a deposit of 200 if you dont have a credit card.
A little dated but clean and friendly staff.
Nice room. Late check in is ok. Great deal as well. Thanks
Very clean and Comfortable rooms. Very nice Front Counter Representative. Office info had Sufficient information to be able to help my Visiting Dad for the few days visit. Took him less than 24 hours to learn the main route to getting around in my Town. Fair Priced.
Average rooms, staff have a very hard time communicating
The motel is dirty and rundown as a lot of the reviews say but I knew that coming in and didnt expect much. Given the price I wouldnt have really minded that the place was dirty and moldy but the owners harassed us non-stop the entire night because there were two guests in the room who "werent allowed". The two of them were also staying at the motel and had gotten a different room but were hanging out in our room, the two owners kept coming into our room yelling at us in broken English telling us they had to leave. For reference this was 11pm, we werent being loud, and when we asked if there had been noise complaints she refused to acknowledge the question. One of the owners repeatedly let herself into our room uninvited and walked around the room looking for "hidden people". Not only were they rude but also didnt respect our legal rights and threatened to call the police anytime we tried to reason with them. Had I been in a more confrontational mood I would have let them call the police. This treatment was unnaceptable and none of us will be staying at the stampeder under this management again.
Extremely unfriendly staff are committed to making your stay as uncomfortable and awkward as possible. They seem to really dislike tree planters and dogs. There are cheaper and better hotels in town.
Shitty establishment and even worse customer service.
Gave us rooms dirty was never cleaned, doesnt change ge bed sheets or blankets does housekeeping every 3 days in witch I believe housekeeping is supposed to be done every day. Never replaces toilet paper, never have clean towels, only does garbage change every 3 days thats it, this place is very bad and what they do here is unacceptable. I honestly day that I am never coming to this motel again its very bad and housekeeping is horrible... very bad customer service
Drove by?!
Its kinda"rundown"but its not to bad,but on the bright side its near Timmies🍵
Staff is very friendly but the facility is very run down and poorly maintained. In past years this was a good stop. We probably wont stay again.
Always have meth heads and drug dealers there
Not clean... would not recommend
Decent place to stop for a night on way through town. Nothing fancy, no perks (other than Wi-Fi). Just a clean bed with nice warm showers. All you really need.
Total verdreckt. Einmal und nie wieder.
Dark, boring room. Electric heat too hours to warm room up. Bed was lumpy, and nothing matched at all.
So dirty, hand prints all over the walls, a layer of dirt on the mouldings, lightbulbs were out, bathroom was beyond grungy, very unappealing furnishings, I was very skeptical that my reservation was legit and was worried I wouldnt have accomadation on the stampede weekend, luckily that worked out. It is pet friendly which was convienient since our dog was with us. I
llClean and afordable
Dont stay there
Stayed 3 nights . First night 80 second night 90 same room 2 months latter 3 rd night 98 not worth it . At all I feel ripped off .its a 50 a night room come on who is really watching these hotels and motels
This place should be shut down. I bookrd a room for a husband who has to spend 4 nights there and im in utter SHOCK! As to how this place is kept. He went in his room just go find holes in the wall, bathroom door. The ceiling is gross? The fan looks like its never been cleaned. The bathroom has mildew on the ceiling and the shower head was absolutley disgusting. Dead flies wete stuck to the wall and cobbwebs everywhere. This place should be shut down. I swear they paid thier customers to give them atleast a decent review. Attrocious!!! The only reason why i give it one star is because i cant post this review without it.
Dirty cutlery, no heat
Was great
Cheap motel but the owner is friendly and accommodating.
Bed was clean. Shower wasnt. Old shampoo packs in it. Very basic. Owner was friendly
Das zimmer an sich war nicht schlecht...einach nicht so sauber geputzt.Und im Badezimmer war gar nichts geputzt... (seife vom vorgänger noch vorhanden und schmutz am spiegel und am wasserhahn)
It is located at the best location in city. Have a spacious parking lot. Service is just up to the mark. But really need major renovations inside out. If you can compromise on cleanliness and service than money, this place is most suitable. Easy access to the city. Really great view of sunrise and sunset. Quiet place. I had to ask the maintenance people to change the sheets and bedcovers. Place is safe from bedbugs. One thing you dont have to worry. Dim lighting in the rooms.
Poorly managed and very dirtyCob Webs in the corners, drug bags found in one of the drawers, there was a sanitized band on the toilet but when we opened it there were fieces inside, none of the windows locked and the towels were never changed on top of all that someone broke into the room nextdoor at 4am waking us up when I asked the front desk guy to speak with a manager he said he was the manager and didnt seem to care about all these issues so I asked to speak with a owner and he said he had no contact information for a owner and there was nothing he could do.I wouldnt even use this place as a last resort I travel quite often and have never in my life seen such a neglected motel/hotel
Bed are not comfortable at all
Good food
I would say that the owner/ manager has given up. The rooms are tired and in desperate need of a deep and detailed clean. The suite had a separate bedroom and a kitchenette. It appears that due to ventilation issues, when cooking, someone had removed the smoke detector (which I am sure is against the fire code). The utensils and cookware are sadly lacking and wash and drying cloths were unavailable when I requested them. A baking tray but no oven glove. One pot (thankfully not aluminiumbut no lid. A coffee machine but no filters. No kettle and no suitable jug for heating water in the microwave. The fridge was also grubby when we checked in.Once again a non smoking room, in a BC motel, that has ash trays outside the room which is clearly against the law banning smoking within 3 metres of a doorway or air intake (which includes air conditioners and windows). This hotel has great views over Williams Lake which is a plus but also means it catches the full sun most of the day. The air conditioner failed to provide any cool air at all. The windows also did not have bug screens in an area of BC renowned for its bugs and proved to be the only way to get any cool air into a warm room. The bath room also needs a deep clean, new hinges for the shower door and desperately needs some hooks for towels and clothes. It would not be unexpected that a suite with two sleeping areas might be shared by a group of people that do not necessarily want to run around naked in front of each other. On a plus side, the gas stove and oven worked very well, the sheets were cotton (a rarity at this level), the linen and towels were un-scented (again a rarity these daysand nice and clean. The pillows were the best pillows I have experienced in a hotel/ motel for years.Surprisingly, in an almost empty motel, the manager placed a late check in (1 amright next to our room rather than spread them out so we got to experience their shower, door slamming and generally loud conversation as they worked out where everything was for an hour when we would rather have been sleeping. The rubbish skip was prominently featured in the car park, in front of the rooms as if it was an additional feature. Obviously because this is where it was easiest for the rubbish truck to service it. It should have been tucked into the service area at the rear and the collection driver can practice his three point skills.Overall the suite (separate bedroomdid the job. We had a bed each, the linen was clean, we were able to cook our own meals (important as Williams Lake is not blessed with a wide variety of culinary choices), eat them, make lunches and get cleaned after mountain biking. Our room was at ground level with a car park immediately in front of it which allowed easy unloading and loading. We were able to wash our mountain bikes and store them in our room without the manager having a hissy fit about it.We were also allowed to have a pet in the room and were not charged the kind of pet fee that one normally associates with a serious civil infringement (other hotels take note, for most dogs or cats, it does not take, and you certainly do not dedicate, $40 worth of additional cleaning time to the room. If there have been damages in the past implement a damages deposit policy for pets instead). So, in summary, it did the job in a town where it otherwise proved impossible to find a motel or hotel that had two separate beds, a kitchenette and allowed pets.
Not enough towels. Too much for that place
Comfortable stay
Dont stay here bunch of party people stay here its load all the time if u dont want any sleep then stay here but if u do do not stay here
Loved it! The room was kinda small but clean and absolutely adorable. The bed was comfy and there were even extra pillows IN the room. Clean bathroom, friendly service, biker friendly with parking where u can see ur bike (even directly in front of ur room in most cases). Adorable as well. Definitely recommend and we will definitely stay again.
Decent, $96 bucks for 2 bed in a room. Had great WIFI experience at around 9am ( 17mbps Download, 2 Mbps Upload )
Cheapest place in Williams lake if you need to stay for a week, ($480 a week plus taxes). Many of the shift workers on nearby mines and construction site stay here because of the good rates. But dont let the No Vacancy sign or the decent looking outside fool you. The inside of the rooms have not been renovated in atleast 25 years. The carpets are worn, the bathrooms are dingy, and the furniture is beat. The worst part is, the bed sheets are old, the towels are disgusting, and you probably wont want to walk around your room barefoot. On the plus side they provide a semi decent microwave and tiny fridge, and they have good cable service for TV and decent internet speed. If you really want to save some money and stay here, which I stress you shouldnt. Bring your own towels and bed sheets and a pair of sandals to walk around your hotel room in. I cannot stress how disgusting the towels are when the threads are coming out of the seams and they smell like that have been washed by hand in a bucket of water outside your room. For a hotel which has 30 some odd rooms, and is almost perpetually full I really cannot understand why they do not simply buy new towels. Even at three sets for each room it would be an investment of no more than $2000, change to a place which is poorly manage by a mother-father duo, who simply do nothing but create work for themselves. Even after multiple times of telling them "I DO NOT WANT YOU TO CLEAN MY ROOM EVERY DAY!" simply for the fact that I realized they do nothing but make my bed and do not change the towels or bed linens, I rather not have someone peeping at my things if that is all they do...Seriously avoid this place, pay the extra 100-150 a week and stay at the overlander across the street, recently renovated and they give you breakfast at 7...
