Stacked Breakfast and Lunch - Restaurant in Lubbock, United States
Hard to rate. Food good but luke warm. Avocado toast wi wilted spinach and fried eggs. Server said not hot bec avocado refrig. 8.95. 30 minutes from order to service.
{{UPDATE}}...had to lower the rating as this is one the those restaurants that charge for using a credit card. They do not tell you, no signage, just when the bill comes. Wont be back. Shame, food is good here but I will not pay for their general expenses to eat there
Two times we have caught this place open and it is absolutely the most delightful place to eat. The food is the best ever! You just have to give it a try!
Food is pretty good. Had breakfast so nothing to write home about. Hostess that day was very aggressive when she came outside to tell me my table was ready. Literally others stopped their conversations and were like "OMG". Not sure if its because I very politely asked how many were ahead of me. But didnt let that ruin my last meal with my daughter before making my 6 hour drive back home, hence the reason I asked. The actual waitress was very nice! Even told my daughter to come and see her if she needed anything. Would have given a 4, but cant when service isnt top tier. Everyone has bad days, but please dont take it out on paying customers or any human.
Ginger was our server, and she was excellent. I love the food and atmosphere here.
This place is a nice little homely spot that has good pancakes. Sweet tea is sweet but the actual tea is rather weak, more like sugar water colored brown. The staff and the manager were really nice and the place is clean. Would definitely recommend and go back.
So yummy I didn’t even think about taking a photo to show off how beautiful the dish looked! By the time I realized I should take a photo to show it off it was too late, because I ate every last bite! I got the blueberry pancakes stacked and OMG it melted in my mouth. Delicious. My boyfriend got the Monte Crisco it also melted in my mouth I almost stole it all from him. Even the fries were absolutely top tier they didn’t even need ketchup! And I love ketchup! 10/10 will be returning and telling everyone I know this is the best breakfast place around! Not to mention if you go before 8:30 they have a early bird special which is budget friendly! :YUMMY!
Love most of the menu. I recommend going here for the pancakes. The blueberry ones are great!
Didnt even make it to the table. As soon as we walked in the door the hostess gave my wife a dirty look and told my family we would have to sit down and wait.. she didnt give us a estimate of time and had a attitude. so while we where waiting other families where coming in and she would greet them with a smile and tell them it would just be a short wait and for them it was.. as 3 other families where seated before us. the hostess did her best to avoid eye contact with us. maybe its the tattoos or werent the right skin color.. shes lucky we left peacefully instead of making a scene.. I will never recommend this place to any of my friends or relatives.. I would give it zero stars even if the food is good.. the people who work there make the establishment an ugly environment.
My first time eating that stacked was amazing. The food was excellent in the service with excellent. My second time I took a friend came to town to visit and we waited roughly 45 minutes at our table before order was taken took another 40 minutes to get her breakfast. The quality of the food was definitely subpar for the price. My third time there I took my daughter the service was great, but it did take forever to get our food and the pancakes were very dry and rubbery
Absolutely the place to go eat breakfast or lunch!! The wait staff is so amazing and ma ok e you feel right at home. The food is always on point! Even my not so easy to please other half is always happy when we eat there! I plan to go every weekend I can!
Really good brunch spot. The breakfast burrito piqued my interest but when I saw protein pancakes on the menu, I had to try them. Impressed that those were an option! Husbands chocolate chip pancakes were nice and dense. Good service, good food. Coffee wasnt the tastiest but got the job done and our waitress kept our mugs full.
Haley our waitress did a wonderful job and Patrick our Host did an amazing job at keeping us updated on our wait time. The food was very delicious.I had the Avocado 🥑 toast with eggs. The eggs were a little over cooked, but still very good. The other breakfast item ordered was the Double Stacked Egg Classic with French Toast. Yummmmy! To drink we had Mimosas and coffee ☕Came back for lunch and was so good.I dont have a picture of the meatloaf, but it was not a traditional meatloaf. It had brown gravy. Very different. The pecan crusted chicken... Wow! Delish!Luck was a very good server!
This was my first Stacked experience, but I’ve been a fan of Billy’s since Stella’s was near TTU. I had scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes and turkey sausage. Everything was great! I don’t eat beef or pork, so having the turkey sausage option made me very happy, and it was tasty and sage-y too! I’m so glad Billy found success in our city. The food isnt like every other restaurant in town and that’s a good thing!
I ordered the Lite Benedict without hollandaise sauce. When it FINALLY came out, I could tell they had made it with the sauce and tried to save the biscuits. They were soggy and I could taste the sauce. I still ate it because I was with 2 other people who had already been served. The table across from us had come in 4 to 5 minutes after us had already received their order and had almost finished eating by the time we were served. I understand poached eggs take longer, but the cook needs to read the order thoroughly so they don’t have to remake an order that takes longer than any one else’s.
We had heard a mix of good and bad and we decided to try it anyway. We were seated pretty quickly. There is always a wait at any breakfast place on Sunday morning. We did sit inside while we waited. Our waitress was quick to greet us and get drinks and our order. The wait for the food was not long to us. The food was great. But there were a couple of negatives. We had pancakes which were pretty big and they came out with one little pat of butter. The syrup they brought was about enough for 1/4 of one of the pancakes. We could not see our waitress to get her to bring more butter, syrup or ketchup. Two issues there. The policy to be stingy with those necessary condiments and the fact the waitress was not attentive after food was delivered. These are easy adjustments but it kept me from giving 5 *. Price and food were good. We will try them again.
Ok I can’t find ANYTHING bad to say about this place. The Brisket Reuben was Amazing with Onion Rings. The show stopper was the wife’s Pecan Crusted Chicken Breast with Green Chili sauce. The taste of the green chilis pop then as you chew the flavor profiles are amazing, this for $12.99 is better than other restaurants in Lubbock at $35 or more.
This was our first and last time eating here. Everything was a la carte. I ordered eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was sour, eggs over cooked and had to pay $3 more for potatoes. The service was good. My husband’s food was good, but he got a spoon of gravy on his potatoes - $2. Too expensive and poor value sadly. I don’t mind paying a little more for outstanding food. This was a miss.
Nice place for a good breakfast . Good service and great food. We are sure to go back when we are in town
Gave them a second chance and the service was so much better and no mistakes with food. I was impressed. I will be back again. Love the pancakes!
overall nasty. worst scrambled eggs i’ve ever had. I don’t know how you mess that up but they were so watery. The rest of the food was either tasteless or just average. Our waitress was unhelpful and sassy.
This seriously may be the best place to eat in Lubbock. The food and service has been amazing everytime we go. Their French toast is easily the best I have ever had. They have different variations on popular dishes. I plan to try them all one day. For the quality you get, the prices are more than reasonable.
Awesome food and great Bloody Mary! The chicken fried steak was perfect. 3 stars because the door to the kitchen SCREAMED every time a server walked through. Ill check back in a month or so to see if its fixed.6/4/22 EditApparently they dont read these reviews. Door still screams and today is just slow service. Not worth the good food.
This is the only review I’ve ever left online anywhere. One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We come here all the time and typically it’s great but this time the service was terrible. We showed up on the time we were told for our pickup and our food was cold, the gentlemen in the window said “I think your total was around (dollar amount here), i don’t know” and took our money without knowing how much we owed, and did not give us silverware, salsa, and syrup when we asked for all three and he said he left to go get it (bag was empty). Felt rushed, guy was rude, and many items were missing. Won’t be doing that again.
Place used to be great. I recommended to lots of people. Definitely not the same anymore. Everything is fast boiled. Eggo waffles would be better as these are complete soggy. Fries are a blob of potatoes that look like they were thrown at a wall for separation. Orange juice is nearly $4.00 / SMALL child’s size cup. Save your money and time.
I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to make an acceptation for this place. I heard very good things about this place and was excited to try it. But when they brought out my pancakes, I found a booger on them. That’s right, a booger. I told the waitress and she took them back and brought me new ones but it didn’t matter. I was disgusted and could not enjoy the meal. I wish I could give no stars.
My husband & I tried Stacked for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious! I had the ham & cheese omelette and we shared some blueberry pancakes which were just what we needed and had been craving. I love that the omelette was reasonably sized. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate a good bang for your buck but I don’t like to be wasteful with having so many leftovers. This was the perfect portion and priced just right for it! I wish I’d gotten our servers name but she was very kind and patient with me even after I knocked over my Pepsi lol. Also carrying Pepsi products is always gonna be a bonus point for me. 😌
Such a great experience and atomosphere, the food was great and the mimosas was even better.! You have to try the grapefruit or cranberry, hands down fav.
We drove in from Amarillo for a doctors appointment, and when finished, we came across Stacked Breakfast & Lunch, and we are SO GLAD we did! The food was absolutely delicious, from their blueberry pancakes to their stacked breakfast on a bagel! What was even better than this delicious breakfast was the excellent customer service we received from Zack! If only everyone could be like him in the food service industry, the world would be a better place. Thank you Zack for your humor, kindness, excellent service and your smile! We will most definitely be back!
Restaurant look and feel is nice but the food was terrible. Brisket is bottom of the barrel quality. They can’t poach eggs correctly (either hard boiled or runny as hell lol). Waiter was nice and staff were friendly. Food terrible though.
Ehhh... it was ok. There are better breakfast places around the area. We had the corned beef and brisket Benedict. It wasnt terrible, but wasnt anything to remember or get excited about. We waited 30+min on a Saturday, server was kinda "meh" as well... definitely not a WOW experience.
My least favorite place to eat. My husband and I both ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was not seasoned at all taste and look burnt too thick of a batter again with on flavor. Will not return.
The restaurant is very cute, small and clean. The food was very delicious.
We went on a little weekend get away to Lubbock and decided to stop here for brunch. The food was excellent, drinks were great and service was friendly. It was a little slow, but they were extremely busy - it was well worth the wait. We will definitely be back when we make it back to Lubbock some day. Wish that Amarillo had one!
Well after arriving to the restaurant we were told about a 25 min wait. No big deal on a Saturday . Well after a hr went by and them not telling all the guest that it was going to be a little longer cause the kitchen was backed up we got seated. Ordered eggs pancakes and bacon. I least to say wasn’t impressed. The bacon you could have built a house with it. The potatoes were something else in it own like dirty dish water .The pancakes were as hard as toast. Litterally when I was putting the butter on the pankcake it sounded like crisp toast. Then we ate what we could eat. We got the bill 36 bucks. For two people for food that sucked. Yeah won’t be going back ..
Great spot! Awesome pancakes and tasty brisket. The Bloody Marie’s are also 10/10.
Stacked is absolutely wonderful. My girlfriend and I come every Sunday and have yet to have a bad experience. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and personable. Amazing pancakes and French toast. The omelette are huge and very very good. The biscuits and gravy are the best in town. Huge shout out to Zach and Chris for making us feel welcomed every weekend when we come. It’s truly one of the things we look forward to.
UPDATE: Great food, great service, and definitely a place we will go back to for lunch/brunch!The first time we went was an off day and I left 3 stars. But the owner reached out to me, invited me and my family back, and went above and beyond to deliver great service and great food. My wife and family went back and had an awesome experience! The service is definitely beyond anything a chain can offer. The food is fantastic. This has ended up on our shortlist of favorite places to go. Definitely recommending it to others!
Delicious!!! Cant believe we waited so long to try this hidden jem!We had family from out of town over for Thanksgiving, and couldnt find many open places! Luckily "Stacked" was, so we decided to give them a try. So glad we did because everyone enjoyed their meals.Food was cooked perfect, great flavor, fresh ingredients. Good strong coffee. Pancakes were yummy! I actually liked the eggs (I like them over hard), and the turkey sausage option was oh so wonderful, home fries were crispy! Their waffles have an amazing homemade aroma, also crispy, and just satisfyingly delicious! Service was great, (Ginger was so nice and sweet), they may be low on staff, so be patient, good food is worth it! I highly recommend you give them a try, or two, or more! Haha. Our out of town family ended up coming back 2 days in a row before heading back home.As for us, we will return soon!
My first experience at Stacked. Service was great, however I was disappointed in the amount of gristle on my sirloin steak to include the dry coconut cream pie. Also a little more pricey than say like an IHOP or Dennys. This is why I rated it three stars.
Extremely disappointed. Called and put in a to go order an hour ago and received an already long half hour wait time. Im told to go to the drive thru window to pick it up and wait ten minutes in line with no movement before I decide to go inside. I go in and have a hard time getting assistance, then when I ask for my order am told it isnt ready already 40 minutes into waiting. Then when I finally receive my order 15 minutes later I open the box to see a tiny meal with no sides. Just a biscuit two eggs a slice of tomato and a TINY spoon of brisket. I paid ten dollars for an eggs Benedict that came with nothing. No hash browns nothing. And I only received a tablespoon of hollandaise sauce in a tiny plastic cup to go on top. What on earth?!? Will not be going back ever again.P.s. I followed the instructions in the response comment asking me to email. But I have yet to receive any answer back. Oh well. To be expected.
Quality Breakfast, Brunch, and Lunch. Great service and delicious home-cooked everything. Also one of the few places where you can get a Bloody Mary in the morning as well as other cocktails. Daily specials and a great menu of standard diner offers that are sure to satisfy everyone in the family. You can sit at the bar, tables, and/or booths. Reasonably priced too. There are two big screens for watching sports. Coffee taste great, burgers and fries, pancakes, omelets, breakfast burrito, everything is going to taste great.
I hate leaving bad reviews but this was just not a great experience. The food looked amazing and then tasted just awful. My husband ordered biscuits and sausage gravy and then I ordered the chicken fried steak. My chicken fried steak and hashbrowns looked perfectly crisp but was so so so smushy. So Im not sure what happened there (maybe microwaved??? Old oil??? Idk how it could look so perfect but be squishybut it was sad to say the least. Then idk why you would put eggs on top of biscuits and gravy but they did and it didnt say anything about them being together on the menu so it was a surprise to have gravy on scrambled eggs. But then the sausage gravy is just there regular old gravy but added sausage at the end. Which anyone thats ever made sausage gravy knows thats not the way to do it, missing so much flavor! But anyways, not the breakfast we wanted from this place.Oh and to top it off. Over $3 for 2 sips of orange juice?????!? Come on now...
Food was good but everything was cold. You can tell it was sitting out because the butter on the pancakes never melted. Only one plate out of the 4 was warm. Per other reviews seems like a reoccurring issue. They most likely need some better heat lamps or just bring out plates as soon as it ready.
Never had been there before and a young friend I was treating for lunch wanted to go there. It was right before noon and the place was half filled. My friend wanted breakfast, which they serve all day. She has gluten issues and was so excited they offered gluten free pancakes, which she said were very good. I ordered a toasted turkey/avocado sandwich. It came with fries. The order took a while to get to us. My friend said her food was warm, not hot, but she enjoyed it tremendously. My toasted sandwich was definitely toasted, but the turkey and cheese were cold. Fries were good, but very salty. I may try breakfast next time as the trays of food coming out looked very good with plenty of food on the plates.
Went there for a lunch meeting the other day. It was my first time visiting and I was pleased. The experience did not make me a loyal fan but would go back occasionally. The food was lacking especially since the owner is also the owner of Stellas. Maybe that is why my expectations were high. Also, I love breakfast food and that is a food you cant mess up. A novice cook can make a tasty plate of breakfast food. Recommend Stacked it is a decent place.
This was a pretty decent place to grab some brunch! Our waitress was very helpful and patient with me since I ordered a lot of food.I ordered the Brisket Eggs Benedict, Pancake Flight, and Chicken and Waffles with a side of hash browns and bacon. The eggs benny were pretty good! The yolks were super runny and the flavor was great! The brisket was pretty tender. The Pancake Flight was good too, except the bacon pancakes had pretty much 2 tiny chopped pieces of bacon in them and that’s it. The chicken on the Chicken and Waffles was burnt, but only parts of it. I don’t know how they managed to only burn part of the chicken but they did. The hashbrowns didn’t taste like much and they were crunchy, but that bacon.. that bacon was delicious. It wasn’t too wiggly and it wasn’t too crunchy. It has such a great, almost smoked, flavor.I’d like to come back and give the chicken and waffles another chance.
Decided to try Stacked for breakfast during the COVID-19 lockdown and it was great! I had 2 over medium eggs, crisp bacon, home fries, rye toast, and a large pancake and loved every bit of it. The bacon was just the right amount of crisp, the home fries were just amazing and tasted like the old home style potatoes, the toast was perfectly browned, and the pancake was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re wanting a good place to eat breakfast or brunch, this is a great local place to come to!
Food was pretty good. Not excellent, definitely not poor.INCREDIBLY slow but we also went at peak hours.GOT 3 of 6 orders wrong, basically our waiter just didn’t listen. And he brought our food out at the same time as our checks, like we were taking up his table...without food for most of it.Would have rated it higher, but I got pretty uneventful food for a higher ticket price than it was worth. This is what I got for $10.50...
We had a wonderful breakfast at Stacked Breakfast & Lunch! Our portions were large and the food was absolutely delicious. I had a hard time deciding what to get, everything on the menu sounded great. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and answered all our questions. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. There were wood accents throughout and plants on most of the tables. We will definitely be going back. I think I might try their open-faced breakfast sandwich next time!
