Very friendly and welcoming people. Absolutely beautiful building! A great place to worship God.
Gorgeous experience and they all remembered our name and welcomed with open arms
Gorgeous venue lovely staff
Have been for a funeral and for a candlelight concert. Beautiful old church with great acoustics. Seats are not the most comfortable for more than 45 min events.
I always feel I was evil and feel dizzy when I am entering a church, but this church is not so "bad" at all. So I dont feel dizzy when I am in this Church. By the way, i am a nice person....
Really enjoyed concert experience
Attended one of the candlelight musical events, very nice atmosphere, passionate musicians and well organised event procedures. Price is also reasonable for a low key concert. Highly recommended.
Attended the historic and beautiful St Stephens church in the Sydney CBD. I was there are a piano and cello recital. Lovely building.
Beautiful venue for classical music
Great night with 2 very talented artistsBeautiful how the church was lite with candles...Very well organized
Great ambience for the Vivaldi concert.
Good candle 🕯 concertWorth looking up to book future concerts
Lovely church with easy affordable parking nearby.
A very elegant church with earthy wood vibes, I visited for a candlelight concert event and it was very grand. The seats are kinda uncomfortable and it creaks with the slightest movement so I removed a star. Overall nice atmosphere though. Though I did only visit whilst all the lights were turned off and candles illuminated the space, so it may look different otherwise.
The ambient setting for candlelights were decent but it wasnt that dazzling. The sound didnt reach that far from instruments and a lot of the times felt muzzledWouldve loved it sooo much with some mirrors situated above and on the sides. the setting would blow up beautifullyThe performers were pretty great and had a lot of technical skillWouldve loved more highlights for high and low notes more but if you enjoy the critique on balance then you wont be disappointedCannot make a comment on cathedral services beyond the candlelight events
Vivaldi in the church was stunning...
They offer lovely Morning tea options with food coffee ☕
Attended this beautiful architecture for Candlelight Concert. The building is beautiful and a part of Sydneys history.
Went there for drug law reform event beautiful building . Took Marlow and she was welcome and behaved beautifully.
A beautiful building. A minister to be commended. Down to earth and inclusive.
Came here for the candlelight concert. A very nice church. Loved the candles!
Beautiful church and comfortable pews!!
I popped in to see Kim Falconers concert on Friday and was so glad I did. Her performance was nuanced and she had a beautiful tone quality. A truly enjoyable concert and her joy of playing was delightful. A wonderful flutist Id definitely love to hear again.
What a wonderful place to worship! The Choir has Angelic voices!
Amazing historic church.
I love old buildings, so sad, when they are demolished needlessly. And St. Stephens is a truly beautiful church. I attended an opera The Consul there, my first visit, and hopefully, not my last.
Lovely building. Attended a bushfire fundraising concert. Church donated the space for the event. Church felt inclusive
Peaceful beautiful church love very much
Second Week of Wednesday holds Jazz night in the basement. It is free but should be deserved a donation for artists. I’ve there twice but I will go more often definitely 😍 Thank you for hosting this.
It was lovely. I attended a beautiful Concert there - I will definitely attend a Concert / Recital there again.
Wonderful old Church. Lovelu
One of the reasons that I visit this place of worship is the glorious and heartwarming Choir. And they do welcome you regardless of backgrounds or beliefs. Friday afternoon concert inside the church is a delightful event for everyone to attend. Best of all is the friendly volunteers who look after this church. They are always happy to welcome you and invite you to go inside the Church and look around. They always have some events happening and it pays to check them out if you are keen to explore. A place so welcoming its a delight to visit.
Lovely old church in Macquarie street opposite NSW parliament.Quiet reflection or a morning service with a thought provoking sermon.Felt very welcome with tea and sandwiches after.
Welcoming atmosphere and beautiful architecture
Worth having a look at this beautiful church and knowing a bit of history.
A good venue for the music I went to see.
Christ Loves His body the body of his True believers
Great recital venue for regular lunch time concerts. Lovely stained glass windows too. A nice relaxed place of calm in a bustling city.
Spectacular historic church in the middle of Sydney CBD.
Great Preaching, Great Worship, and the Minister is gifted and skilled.
Friendly , welcoming people on arrival & a very tasty morning tea ( the usual + cakes , stimes baclava , sandwiches . Every now & then a full lunch is provided . Now for the worship 😁 ....😊 - a Minister ( the Rev Ken Day who has a beautiful smile & a warm & engaging personality. He preaches practically , applying the scripture readings ( both Old & New testament to everyday occurrences to which you can relate . Why not come along & give it a try ? Oh....did I forget the music ( a Choir with a combination of ( mostly Choral ( 1800- 1950 music but also the occasional contemporary songs ( incl some jazz on the 2nd Wed of the month And of course the well known Charles Wesley et al hymns ( from " Together in Song ")
Ive come to this beautiful city church for fundraising concerts for two organisations. Both great concerts and a good venue for music. Theres a downstairs area where they have used for food and drinks to be served.
A very pretty church - high ceilings and a pipe organ.Used for Handels Messiah practices
