St. Stan's Brewing - Restaurant & Brick Oven Pizza Pub - Brewery in Modesto, United States
Good beer selection and delicious soft pretzels and churro doughnuts.
Pizza is amazing, the pretzel with beer cheese is a killer. One of my go to spots to eat out in Modesto. Small business locally owned highly recommend.
Careful when ordering wings if they don’t have them they will switch them to a Chicken leg. Sorry that’s night and day. Not happy !!!
Always a favorite. Coolest beer truck and friendliest staff....BEST PIZZA IN MODESTO!
We had very good pizzas at this restaurant and the ambiance was great.
I really want to love this place however after attempting to come here four times in the last nine months and it is bad every time, I cant. The beer quality has gone down as I see less and less of their own beer being served. Tonight, they have one out of 17.The biggest issue is the food. We have sat here for an hour and our food was not put into the oven, according to the server. He is the same server we had most every time we come and he is always kind. However, the food is always ridiculously slow. The place is mostly empty and our order was placed before a ten top ordered - their food started coming out when we asked about when we could expect our food. This is when he told us it wasnt in.Please please please fix your oven or your food process. Id love to see this place be a great spot in Modesto.
Great place! Love how the brick/wood oven smell as you walk in the front door. It was slow around that time I arrived being little before lunch witch make for a enjoyable atmosphere and makes you feel nostalgic that the name St. Stans name has been in Modesto for some time. I ordered a personal pizza and a tall beer for lunch and I would say it hit the spot. Would recommend trying if you want something different and try different beers on tap.
We tried out this place for the first time. I do not recommend going here. The service was terrible (except for the waitress as she was the only one working the owner just sat at the bar talking. We waited a while to be served. We were finally served and placed our order. A few minutes later they came and told us that they were out of fries. We opted for the wings instead. The sandwiches came out first (which the owner took to the wrong table twice we said no onions on one of them. There was onions on both and the bread was burned. At that point we said that we are just paying for the drink . The owner apologized. We told him the whole experience was terrible between the wait time, no appetizers first, and burned order. As an owner he took the $5 for the drinks instead of offering any discount for the experience. He did not seen to care that we were leaving. First time here. Definitely the last time. Very poor
We did the Sampler Stroll & I did get a drink here. Got the Campfire Stout & it was amazing! Really had a great time!
Stand at the bar for 30 minutes before someone will even acknowledge you. Worst place in downtown Modesto. I will never recommend this place to anyone unless your hobby is standing around wasting your time.
Best Pizza on the West Coast! On the expensive side, but its worth it for the brick oven pizza!
Beer is tasty. Did not try the food but they had a god barley wine.
Came here with a few friends and had a few drinks and two pizzas. They have a few board games to play while you wait for your food. Pretty big place. I forgot the name of one of the pizzas we ordered but we did have one Margerhita pizza that was great, especially the sauce on the pizza. Not sure if its a place I would come to again but it did not make bad impression. With so many pizza places in the area, itll be tough to see if Ill make a second visit. Very friendly staff is a plus.
My wife and I love the food and atmosphere but don’t bother coming unless you have 90 minutes. 45 minutes for fries and 60 minutes for a 6-inch pizza is ridiculous. I think you need a better oven, chef, or both. This has happened multiple times on slow nights.I feel bad for the server because she’s nice and it isn’t her fault. Be better, St. Stan’s. Or recommend people call in their orders ahead.
wonderful food. pretzel with cheese sauce, fully loaded fries, individual pizzas with cauliflower crust oh my you wont go wrong and great selections of beers
Had a personal pizza awesome, service was great
Amazing wood fired pizza and cold beer. Love their oatmeal stout. Everyone is super friendly. This is our fave place to go downtown.
Had the corned beef and cabbage last year. First time having this dish and I have to say the beef was more like carnitas. The outside of the meat was dry and tough, almost seemed like it was sitting out for a while. The small portion vs the amount I paid I was not satisfied at all. The beer is hit or miss, typically I just have the galactic IPA. No worries since common is right next door. The pizzas though are really good. The pretzel was ok, the cheese could have been better. I just hope they get their act together because its most likely going to have the same fate Sandudes had.
Beer selection is great and taste good. Food and service is horrible. Not much staff on standby and take long to get to you. Food is expensive and very average.
Its a joke the owner cant operate a business quality of food and service had fallen place should be shut down for safety and health reasons
I have to admit Ive not been there to the downtown brewery in about 17 yrs. I helped tile the original brewery and the last night we worked the owner bought pizzas and let us try all the beers. I was hooked on St. Stans! My buddy and I switched out wine in the soft bag that comes in the box for St. Stans Dark. Snuck it into Candlestick Park to watch the 49ers play the Houston Oilers on Christmas day in 1993! Did the same to many a Giants and As games too. I still have a St. Stans label on an old tool box. Man what Id give to have a St. Stans right now. Enjoy it while you can. What an Awesome Craft Beer!
Great beer but dont bother ordering food, they dont even remember to put in your order so you just get to sit there feeling like an idiot and end up having to go elsewhere for food after waiting for an hour
Great craft beers. The food is expensive but very delicious. Great atmosphere. I like the place.
Great food, great brews, great customer service and chill atmosphere. What more could you ask for. Next time Im in town I will definitely be returning here.
Great food, beer and service
Awesome brick oven pizza. Excellent sweet, spicy, tangy chicken wings. Hospitable, friendly staff. Definitely a go to downtown Modesto stop. Conveniently located. Lots if parking. Will be back again and again !!
The staff was wonderfully friendly. Pretty good in-house brews with a nice selection from other breweries. Great pizza.
Awesome beer, great pizza, live music, oh yeah, and churro donuts!!!
This place is awesome excellent customer service great brew and you have to try the spicy monkey pizza it was delicious! Hope they start selling bigger pies soon!
Always a favorite. Coolest beer truck and friendliest staff....BEST PIZZA IN MODESTO!
This place needs help. Very slow service never in a rush, Hello!!! people are on a hour lunch.I understand why this place is closed most the time! You need help on customer service in a timely matter.( with only 3 other customers in the buildingI have gave them multiple chances to prove me wrong...failed every time. Ill go somewhere else because you dont seem to need customers. Good luck.
One of the best pizzas Ive ever had. Great beer and Rich the owner came out and introduced himself and talked to us. It was a great experience!!😄😄😄😄😄
The pizza was just ok. Beer was good but our waitress seemed confused. She didnt seem to know the menu nor did she check on us after we got our pizza..
Only time for a pint, but what a pint! Alt bier dark ale was so good my wife ordered one as well. Nice location ,good looking pizza as well. Will be back!
Awesome service, great pizza/calzones, decent beer. Only three stars though because they charge for samples and its not cheap. 1.50+ for 2 oz of beer, pretty nickle and dime especially for a brewery. Very happy with my experience until I saw the bill. Two small samples for over three dollars. Sorry, the beer is not that good
Wonderful real brick oven pizza and great selection of custom beer add great service with nice surroundings makes a place to return.
This brew pub offers delicious pizza and a broad range of St Stans craft beer. Catch incredible live music hosted by Big Earl at his Blues Jam on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. This month we were pleased to find Tommy Castros former drummer, Shad Harris, on keyboards, the ever entertaining and talented Rob Hill on vocals, and enjoyed listening to Mike Homens clean guitar style. This is a relatively new location, so they are still working on faster service, and could really use plates, as they serve on pizza dishes and out of salad bowls.
Not impressed. Especially after they made me leave because i wouldnt pay the $15 "comedy night" cover. You should have just let me sit there and drink. One guy, quiet, no grief at the bar. I would have quadrupled your cover in beers and pizza. Never going back.
Delicious pizza and great locally brewed craft beer.
Modestos only brewery delivered in a big way. $1 off happy hour and great beer. The pizza is absolutely amazing. Brick oven pizza is hard to beat. My only complaint? They advertised wings on a sign outside despite the fact they were out of wings. Ill be back to try those wings one day.
Great beer, food was really good, definitely will be back.
They only had one waitress working the room so service was a little slow. Also I wasnt pleased with my meal. Ordered the wings they wernt quite done to my tast I like it when the meat just falls off the bone and you dont have to fight it to get the meat.So it wasnt quite done to my standards. Maybe on a better night it would be better.Thank you and we did enjoy the company and over all we had a nice time.
Great pizza great beer, fast friendly service. You cant ask for more....
Great flat bread pizza and beer, prepared and served with TLC. Good destination for food in downtown Mo.
Good pizza and beer. The wings were flavorless and barely warm.
This is our second time here and finally they have food!!! We arrived early and had the place to ourselves for the first hour. The wait staff was very attentive and Jacqueli gave lots of suggestions for places to try other brews. I had the Margherita Pizza and my husband had the bacon and mushroom calzone. Both were excellent. And of course we had beer.
Fantastic beer from Modestos hometown brewery, plus good pizza, and affordable!
Great atmosphere and beers! very inexpensive drinks!
First visit was great. Excellent choice in beer. Great customer service. Cant wait to see it grow.
Loving the graffiti wheat and the cool vibe. {{👏}}
