Sandstraße 10-12, 28195 Bremen, Germany, Bremen
City views spread from the Gothic towers of this ornate 11th-century edifice, rebuilt in the 1800s.
Nice!
Worth a visit if you’re in town but also nothing too special. We took around 10 minutes to walk around and explore and then moved on.
Beautiful location. Construction made in a particularly beautiful way. I recommend visiting this city.
The building is very beautiful but staff work here is really rude. The dom should open till 4:45pm and we arrived at 4pm and the door is open. However, a staff yelled at us to get out of there because the dom is closed already. That is totally no sense to be so rude on visitors in a church and I don’t think we did anything wrong. Shame on them
When I visited there was a celebration organised by the youngsters. Do not miss the free museum with historical and architectural gems
Beautiful cathedral! The church was made of stones and the interior of the church inside was impressive feels like piece of art. Worth to visit! ❤️
Very big old gothic church with tall towers. The cathedral is dark in colors and has a bit dark atmosphere inside it as well. Thats why I didnt feel comfortable there. From the right to the cathedral entrance there is a very interesting Bible garden with plants mentioned in the Bible.Just near the entrance there is an equestrian statue of Bismarck.
Its a big and very nice Church, They do not ask anything for entrance but one thing is not organised well and that it the Tower (DOM).It seems attractive to everyone when you enter in the Church and everyone asking for Church Dom but believe me I think it will be organised and there must be a lift inside. That was not well organised and even someone comming down and going up with same stairs and you stuck sometime
Amazing 😍
Very beautiful
Very nice place and surroundings - didn’t get the names of everything but it’s definitely worth a visit !!
Totally open for exploring! Must see!
Very dark cathedral looks nice among the moderness of bremen
Gorgeous old cathedral in Bremen. Go see it.
It’s a very big and beautiful church. They don’t ask for anything in the entrance (like covid tests)It’s such a majestic building from the outside, and if you go to Bremen not only it’s a must see but you will most likely find it, since it’s close to the city center and the town hall and other buildings are also there.
Magnificent church.
Its a serene place that, for me, never loses its ability to calm. If you are not religious and dont want to go to sermon, there are times where you can listen to the organist(spractice. Worth a visit, especially when they open the crypt.
One beautiful cathedral built with stones taken from the old city wall whose 98 metre high towers offer a stunning view over the roof top
Nice old church. I would say must visit if you want to feel Hanseatic vibes of medieval era.
Well worth seeing if you are in the area. I’m in awe of the detail and craftsmanship. A very impressive structure!
very German and beautiful
PROS: vivid atmosphere | historic site | perfect for art loversCONS: public WC missing
The information about additional times the dom is closed is not available anywhere. We and multiple other tourists just bounced off the closed doors, and when they opened only for some unannounced service, a very nice lady informed us to come tomorrow - tomorrow is no more weekend. Not really possible for the weekend tourists. We came for this cathedral over 300km.
A great experience of visiting St. Petri Cathedral. Also got a museum inside it, lot of history and knowledge to be explored.
It is a must visit place when visiting Bremen. I stop by every time I come! It has an ambiance that gives you peace when you enter and an architecture that leaves you confused by joy and different emotions.😌👌🏼
Such an impressive building! Open from 10 on, 11.30 on Sundays, so we didnt manage to enter...
Look at the sculptures at the entrance; the bishops, kings and lions. they all mysteriously look at Roland. Inside, the beauty is beyond imagination
Beautiful would be nicer if it was cleaned
gothic style church in the centre of bremen.
Just a beautiful cathedral, totally breathtaking
Beautiful cathedral right at the Market Square. Beautiful architecture. Unfortunately its not open to public during our time of visit.
What ominous sight at night !!! I walk around the building at night, but even in the dark it was impressive! I had never been to Bremen before and was true my impressed by the quality and scale of the architecture in the old part of town. The pictures do not do it justice, it is larger than it looks. It makes for another interesting experience when visiting the center of Bremen.
Very beautiful building in the heart of the city. You should definitely go inside and take a look on the nice decoration. The Dom is very bigThere is the Dom museum inside with many interesting exhibits.I was very impressed
Well worth spending a couple of hours in here. Such beauty, elegance and fascinating detail.
Beautiful and historic. It has so much character. Only 2€ to get to the top. This whole area is full of historic buildings!
Magnifique cathédrale stood on in Central Bremen for centuries. You walk in and see that mysterious space formed of pillars, arches, statues and frescoes. When the organ is playing the music takes over you and your emotions. It is one of those few moments in your life when you feel divine inspiration.
Very nice church, I like how the interior had colour to it and the benches are padded. The architecture is also beautiful.
This Evangelical church located in the market square of Bremen is just amazing. The original structure dates from the VIII Century. The oldest parts of the original building date from the XI century. Take your time to visit one of Bremens jewels. It has been protected since 1973.
Beautiful church from outside it looks old . it was closed when we arived there . may be later I will get to go inside.
Set between the Rathaus and the State Parliament, the impressive cathedral of Saint Peter completes the ensemble of historical buildings on Bremens old market square. Its two towers, one of which is open to visitors, are visible from afar and dominate the city skyline.Unfortunately, due to the opening hours, we were not able to visit the interior.
Its a beautiful church in the countryside. With two towers rising in the sky acting as sentinels protecting the heritage. Inside is beautifully decorated walls and ceilings.. its a wonderful experience.
One of the most impressive churches in North Germany
At night shd not be so badThe oldest visible structures are the two crypts. The last parts built in romanesque style and in sandstone were the lower storeys of the western façade and the western towers. Since the late 1220s, vaults and walls were erected in bricks, partly hidden by sheets of sandstone. Only the outer wall of the southern row of chapels shows unhidden bricks. St Peters is one of the largest historic brick structures in Europe, but it comprises too many stone structures to be subsumed to Brick Gothic. During the great restoration of 1888 to 1901, the western towers and most of the western façade were rebuilt relatively close to previous structures. The crossing tower was a new addition, using the medieval crossing tower of Worms Cathedral as an example. The roofs above the transepts and the northern aisle were redesigned.
Hanza Bremen, a beautiful German city on the River Vezer, deserves to visit it because it reflects a spirit that will make you fall in love with it. Tradition, culture and lifestyle are special and so carefully preserved and simply attract you to explore it. Beautiful streets, parks, historic buildings are at every step. Be sure to try local traditional dishes and beers. You will enjoy the time you spent in this beautiful city.
Great architecture, must stop by when in Bremen. You can also climb up one of the 2 towers, €2 per adult.
Lovely historic Protestant church with a statue of Charlemagne and Bismarck outside and beautiful and historic icons inside. Worth a visit.
Definitely worth to visit! Building is really beautiful. Museum inside is really well curated!
The cathedral is amazing and stands over the town square in Bremen. The outside is imposing and looks medieval and is generally in great condition. The interior has been renovated inside so looks more modern than the exterior but none the less looks great. Inside there is a museum shop and you can go up one of the towers however unfortunately on my visit it was closed due to technical problems.
After a visit to Rome, in which Domes and Churches were so pompastic and filled with art pieces, the experience in St. Petri Dome was completely different. But of course it has its own unique atmosphere and its worth to visit it once staying in Bremen. Dont be lazy and climb to one of the towers, the view is quite nice. Of course, on the day we were there, there was really foggy, so we could not see everything so clear.
Its a beautiful architecture. A must visit in Bermen. 😊😍👍🏽
