St. Pete Bagel Co. - Bagel shop in Saint Petersburg, United States
Best bagel place in. Tampa area BY FAR
I have been purchasing bagels here for awhile. They have been consistently very good until today. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese as always. I got less than 1/3 of the cream cheese as in the last years. Parts of the bagel had no cream cheese at all and the other parts had barely a swipe. Perhaps the new staff have not been trained to the standard the return guests are expecting and this will improve. Maybe there has been a change in schmear policy. If so, we will not be back. There are other local places with a great bagels and the right amount of cream cheese and I will drive farther to patronize them.
Genuinely don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. The most mentioned word in reviews is “microwave” which should tip you off to how they prepare their breakfast sandwiches. Bacon egg and cheese bagel was flavorless, dry, and honestly worse than most fast food joints. Tried just a bagel and cream cheese also and it was very average (cream cheese was weirdly liquidy?Coffee might be the worst I’ve ever had. Somehow there’s always a line and long waits — very disorganized restaurant.
Bagels are as good as you can get in this city. Employees asking for tips for putting bagels in a bag is ridiculous.
Literally the best chicken salad I’ve ever had! I had never been here before.I am very picky about chicken salad and the texture. I don’t like it too chunky or too pasty. It was perfect and so delicious!Service and staff was amazing as well!Cannot wait to come back!
The best bagels EVER!!!!! Been going here since the early 90’s 😋
The problem is not the quality of the food - probably the best bagels in the area. The problem is the service. If you just want to drop by for a dozen bagels be prepared to wait 30+ minutes. This place is in desperate need of a self service option for people only wanting bagels.
I think this is a great locally owned place. The only thing I would say is maybe more options for drinks, shakes maybe? Idk really its just missing something.
We got bagels from another bagel place first, they were microwaved bagel sandwiches and we were extremely disappointed to say the least. We came to St. Pete bagels hoping for a better experience, however, they also microwave their bagel sandwiches. I am from NJ and this is extreeeeemely sad to see as well as to pay so much money for something I could make at home with my microwave or gone to Dunkin Donuts for cheaper.
I cant say enough about the place all the food is wonderful its large and portions the prices are right the people are friendly who own it and Im sure everyone who goes there every morning sees the crowd is so large those women work hard and make good food. Keep it up girls
The Best bagels for 100 rds of miles..great staff...fast tooConsidering I was raised on bagels hotdogs and pizza...i know a good bagel..😁😁Delicious....
Yumm! I got a onion 🧅 bagel with veggie cream cheese 🥯 … not the best breath afterwards… but awesome bagels and the donuts looked so good . Good coffee , decent prices and cozy eat in .
Wonderful staff! Great bagels! Try some of their wonderful one of a kind sandwiches 🥪
Best bagels in St. Pete of course, but the donuts and coffee are great as well! Always hoping.
Food is good but it comes with a side of attitude. Service is horrible, you feel rushed, and can’t ask questions! Also for a baker’s dozen, a tub of cream cheese should be included, perhaps for a small fee.I have not been there in a while and decided to go in today, however that was a mistake. The service I received pushed me away.
My friend and I got an egg salad sandwich and a tuna sandwich both on wheat & let me tell you it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I’m already thinking about coming back tomorrow ! 10000/10
Our favorite donuts in St Pete! The bagels are always good too.
Great place!Delicious bagel 🥯Si estás de vacay ! Súper recomendado! My favorite was cinnamon roll and raisins with strawberries cream. Yummy! 👍🏼💯
We just moved here. I went here once and thought the bagels were pretty good. So I took my wife back a few weeks later. Her first time in. She accidentally picked up the wrong order. Two employees chased her down and stood outside her window and the first woman yelled at her for taking the wrong order then threw up her hands and walked away. The second woman was much calmer but proceeded in a patronizing manner to explain why it was the wrong order … “you ordered “x” and you see what you picked up was “y” and the illegible chicken scratch note on it clearly says “y.”Sort of a shame that an honest mistake cost them two new lifetime customers.Food was pretty good … just don’t make any human errors there. It’s not a very forgiving environment.
Bagels and donuts are great. The Iced Coconut Mocha was also amazing. I am from NJ and the sausage egg and cheese tasted like home, 10/10
Co-workers and I had been debating on best bagels in the area, Clearwater Bagels off SR 60, Stews House of Bagels at Ulmerton Rd/Belcher, or this place. As a transplant from NY, I have always loved bagels. Family would get fresh bagels every Sunday morning for breakfast. Not sure who is writing these reviews but they are not from NY if they think these bagels are as close as you can get.First thing I noticed was after I placed my order for a simple plain bagel with butter, not toasted, was that it took over 15 minutes to get my order. There were a few people that ordered ahead of me but there were at least 4 employees working behind the counter so not really sure why it took so long. Another poor appearance was an older lady employee was arguing with a younger female employee the entire time that other customers and I were waiting. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable standing there waiting for our food while this was taking place. When I finally received my bagel, it was cold and chewy. I was there in the morning so the bagels should have been fairly warm, even without toasting. When I have gone to Clearwater or Stews, the bagels have always been fresh, warm with a nice crunch on the outside but not too hard, no matter when I have gone in. This bagel was just not good and there was little to no butter on it.I will be crossing this place off my list of bagel places and stick to Stews. Ive never had a bad experience there. Try for yourself and judge.
Got the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese on an Everything Bagel (toasted+ a 16oz iced white chocolate oat milk latte. It was INCREDIBLE.
It’s THE St Pete bagel co. Come here it’s a great local spot that serves fresh bagels, great coffee, and the breakfast sandwiches are best. Always doing specials, prices are fair, friendly staff, does get busy during peak hours(which means most people thinks it’s good), and it’s the only place with jalapeño cheese bagels. With all these Pros there is 1 Con and that’s the napkins are small and thin which doesn’t help when I need to aggressively wipe frosting off my face after my 8th donut. Here’s the thing the donuts are so soft, fluffy and warm(which is amazingthe frosting can get everywhere after No 5. Get us those long brown ones from the vertical dispenser. *hops off soap box*
Great prices. Solid food. Coffee was awful. Couldn’t even finish them. We ordered a caramel iced coffee with milk and a hot caramel latte. Both were disgustingly sweet. We kept talking about it for over an hour. We couldn’t believe how bad they were. Might be back for food. Will never order coffee again.
St Pete Bagel Company has been around for a long time, under different ownership. It has evolved its product offering to include doughnuts, specialty pastries, and varied beverages.Although I have had a true New York bagel, St Pete Bagel is made in a similar fashion and compares favorably. And they create many varieties suitable to many tastes.I personally like a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. They do not skimp on the cream cheese either. My wife usually does for the Everything bagel with Lox.St Pete Bagel creates lunch sandwiches like my favorite, a Sesame bagel loaded with Chicken Salad and a slice of cheese.Every time I go there, there are usually busy. However, try calling ahead if your time is limited and they will prepare your order in advance for pick-up.
Place is dirty and a dump. They dont care if your order is misplaced or goes to the wrong person. Stood at the counter for 25 minutes. when I asked if they made my order I was told someone probably grabbed it. I could wait because they were busy and they had to clear the other orders. At that point I wanted a refund and never will go back to this place again.
I had lox & cream cheese on an everything bagel & it was great! This was my first visit, & I will definitely be back. Good decaf too.
Fantastic bagels at fantastic prices. You really cant beat this place. Good coffee and donuts is such a nice bonus. Every city needs a place like this
My first time here and i live next door. Line was out the door they were so busy. Good selection of breakfast items from croissants to bagels and frozen drinks, coffees. Think i even seen smoothies on the menu? The lines are a bit chaotic, and im a 7.5 month pregnant woman who cant really move out of the way for everyone when they have to cut through the order line for their pickup. The ladies at the counter were super nice though and very friendly. You could tell they had been busy all morning. I ordered an iced coffee and a croissant with bacon egg and cheese. The latte was pretty standard, wasnt really iced. More like luke warm and the croissant just didnt have any flavor. Needed salt butter … something. You do get alot of food for 6 bucks but overall would say it was worth trying but probably not my favorite place ever.
This place is a bit out of the way for us but we gave it a try. We had a breakfast sandwich which was pretty good. The donuts looked pretty good but I didnt try one. Seems like a lot of people that visit here know each other.
Wide menu and great portion sizes for the price! We went closer towards closing (I didnt realize they closed at 1pm instead of 2but they still had a lot of options to choose from thankfully. There is some inside seating thats on the tighter side but there are also some some seats outside as well. Their donuts are fluffy and not overly sweet, and a great size as well. Great place to stop into overall.
What a neat spot! Great bagels, attentive staff and very nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the outdoor seating on a nice cloudy day - the salt bagel was amazing and the lox super fresh! Would love to come back next time we are in St. Pete!
Delicious breakfast sandwiches, bagels are always great and we love the selection of different cream cheeses and the coffee bar. The line is always pretty long when we get there and the ordering area is very crowded and doesnt flow through the store well but the food is worth the wait
I go here at least three times a week they have a big variety of bagels and cream cheese and the coffee is great as well sometimes it gets a little busy but its a really good place so its worth it. I live right around the corner and I love it here
Being from Brooklyn Im picky about my bagels. The bagels we ordered at St Pete Bagel were fresh. They have good selection of spreads. They also have good coffee. My friend has his breakfast there every morning and was the one to point me in their direction. Location has enough tables to eat inside if need be. Overall a good bagel place.
Great breakfast sandwiches. Long line but staff kept customers moving and fulfilling orders. I originally tried to call to make myorderbut no one answered. All in all A- but it was peak rush hour morning time so they get a 2 thumbs up from me for an accurately fulfilled order and a speedy delivery from start to finish. Coffee was a B, bagels are A+ , and I got two doughnuts which were so much better than DD or Krispy cream. I have been back several times and experience the same each time with an A- to A+ level of service and quality to products each time. Enjoy and dont forget to tip the staff.
What can I say? I’m from New York and I go here. It’s the only place I can conveniently get a salted bagel in St. Petersburg. Everything tastes like real New York food, and they have cream cheese that has lox already in it. It’s a great easy inexpensive way to get lox. Of course if you prefer something more elaborate you can do the traditional bagel with cream cheese, lox, and other toppings. They also have egg sandwiches and a large variety of beverages. When my son and his girlfriend were here for the holidays I took them there and they were very impressed. Fast, easy, eat it there or take it to go.
Best bagel shop! Lines are usually out the door and thats a great sign! They move quickly. Get a tub of cream cheese and their bagel chips too! Their lox is amazing!
It was fine but I wouldn’t really recommend it. Place was empty at around 11am and yet the staff was inattentive and took time to come to the register. Also, they had only one bagel left and did not even bother to toast it. $6 for a bagel sandwich seems very steep given the quality of the ingredients and service.
Happy to chat with management if they respond, but they were not available by phone. Picked up an order for sausage, egg, cheddar bagel sandwich. The note in the bag for the order was correct. However, I get home to find a bacon, egg, white American sandwich, which is not appetizing to me at all. I’m not going to unwrap sandwiches when I go places to double check, not do I want people doing that if they got my order. Who knows how clean each person is and the chances are it will be wrapped back up and given to the correct person, not remade. Expectations are the orders will be correct.
The best bagels in all of Pinellas County are found here! We go here frequently and I havent tried anything I dont like!
Great selection in local bagel shop. Love all the bagels. The donuts are excellent as well. I have not tried the sandwiches or croissants but they look great. The coffee is also good, which is an often neglected item in these smaller shops. Great place for breakfast or lunch.
Excellent smoothies actually one of the best along side Edible Arrangements. Great breakfast sandwiches but they add a bit to much egg for my likening. However I just take off what I dont want. I will say I used to love their dounuts but lately they seem to have to much dough (pretty thick). But they are very good and I do recommend you try.
I never knew this place was there until I had to go over into St.Pete one early Saturday morning. As we were driving, I saw the saw the sign so I told my Husband to turn around, so glad I did. I stopped in and got a breakfast bagel. It was a bacon, egg and cheese on a everything bagel. I was very good and a great size for the price. If you love bagels check this place out, Ill be back because they have other flavors, homemade spreads and plenty more. Also this spot is very warm and home like.
For one the prices are amazing compared to the other bagel shops that are in st pete... secondly it’s the closest to a New York bagel shop you’ll find here. They are fast and consistent no matter how busy they are... which they do get super busy. Don’t be discouraged if you see a line because it will go fast. The apple fritter donut is really good and fresh.
St Pete bagel is an old St.Pete classic. Granted, other places may have more scenic locations, but this is your old school bagel spot. Theres always a line out the door on the weekend, so get there early, and you gotta have the Lox cream cheese
Its whats on the inside that counts (Thats my attempt at humor). The bagel is really good and the cream cheese is excellent. First time here and I cant wait to return.
Nice little bagel shop with fast service. Staff was curt and felt like they did not want to be there. For a bacon egg cheese they use microwaves. But for Microwaves it was t half bad
With the world upside down these days, comfort, service, and the BEST bagels are found at St. Pete Bagel Co. It had been a few years since I was back in the area, and I am thrilled to see they are still going strong. So if you need your bagel fix, a delicious donut, or a great cup of Joe, make the stop, it is worth the (social distancingwait.
Simple, delicious and great service. Their bagel has a nice chewiness and crack to them. Must try the Lox and cream chz🤗
