Beer is made on the premises of this shabby chic pub that also smokes its own meats.
Delicious beer and food, friendly staff and a super fun Quiz night hosted by Keila! Looking forward to going back.
Wetherspoon quality food at restaurant prices. Beer and wine good though.
Its a nice place in a good location. But the beer selection varies from occasionally excellent to really quite poor a lot of the time.Worst of all is the sheer number of times staff get drinks wrong!
Great choice of beers and good quality food. If stopping for a quick drink or evening meal cant fault it. Attentive staff and clean tables. Recommended stopping here
Good selection of craft beers, cute and cosy inside with some seats outside for summer sun basking.
The bar maid sally was excellent, super attentive to our needs. She was exceptional, whipping pints out like they were mister whippies at the park on a hot summers day. Hands like lightning, pints galor @sally 12/10 - superb.
Food was excellent, and the service was very good for the most part. Only gripe is that one of the staff members seemed slightly disinterested. Decor was nice too. Would definetely return.
We had a delightful roast dinner which was cooked to perfection, with very well balanced flavours. We could not fault it. To add, there was excellent table service from Francis. Making sure we were satisfied and had everything we needed.Definitely a must visit place when in the city! :)
Fish (gluten freeand chips plus a pint of house brew ale. Super food and service. The fish and chips were great and the non gluten avoiders amongst us had no idea it was gluten free.
Had tapas small plates. All good, albeit slightly expensive. I recommend 4 plates between 2. Nachos is best value
Fantastically amazing - great food - quick service and most of all lovely people! Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great atmosphere, love the staff and great selection of food, one of my favourite pubs in Norwich
This place is not so nice when I was waiting for my food the person next to me fell off their chair and all of their food went everywhere and the waiters just stood there and laughed. This place have vote conservative flags all around it. The tacos are quite nice tho
Absolutely love this place ...fantastic range of beers and my favourite brewhouse cider 😍 food was amazing we tried a few of the little plate dishes which were fab ...also the lady who looked after was lovely (Amythank you 😊
Nice food, lovely drinks, great service. Cool place!
Friendly staff but the pub experience is blighted by very expensive drinks in rough surroundings. My advice, you can do better.
Went there yesterday at 7pm and had such a cold welcome from the waiter at the dining area that we just turned back and went to BrewDog.
Nice place, reasonably priced, good food, only criticism is they had run out of burgers and steak
Didnt need to book, busy bar/restaurantRustic feelLovely food, we had the Vege specialDelicious cheesecakeSuper friendly attentive staffLovely evening
Lovely pub, clean, well looked after, good food, prompt service. Also has great spaces upstairs for small events.
Central location for the city but staff numbers were very short on our recent visit often waiting 10 minutes or more to get served. The barman was keen to shut and we left early. Poor.
We came here yesterday as refugees from the Beer Festival across the square. There were six beers on the pumps and we really enjoyed the one we hadnt had previously. Beers have always been well kept when we have been here and the service is fine.
Im so impressed with how friendly Norwich bar and cafe staff are. This pub is no exception. Plus a decent list of drinks, a good atmosphere, and less crowded than you might expect.
Slow service despite not being busy. Took over 20mins for drinks to arrive. Food average. Wouldnt go back. Real ales better in local pub.
Found this place by accident. And it did not disappoint. Decor was industrial and really worked. The food was excellent. Burgers were large, full of flavour and hand made. The wife had roast beef which looked amazing, decent portion of meat and potatoes, veg perfectly cooked. Decent choice of proper cask ales, what we tried were very quaffable. Staff attentive but discreet. Will definitely go again.
maybe good pub but not to spend a good time in a restaurant. app to complex to order need to register email credit card need to pay in front food just acceptable chips not good, not recommended
Great beer, good food, great service nuff said!
Stopped for an impromptu drink, first post lockdown pub visit. Bit of a faff to get app installed before we could order, but very efficient service and the IPA was spot on.
Excellent place, the food is on top, beer choice is great, and they got many MANY alcohol free beers too of quality. Diversified and rich food, Ive been there 4 years ago and it still is one of the best place of Norwich. Quite underrated I would say from Google.
Had quick bite here before a comedy gig a playhouse, so perfect location.Went on Monday so had beer and burger for £12. Amazing value. But the flavoured burger was not that strong a taste so cant see point of it.I had non alcoholic beer with burger, Father-in-law said that local brewed IPA was lovely to drink, House red wine was also a thumbs up.Waitress was very polite and social.Pre booked table online so it was easy and worked well. Was put out in back section of the ground floor eating area, but no room for leg space and not suitable for persons with bad back, tall in height or disability. Seems that have packed in to many table and chairs in this section.Overall nice place to go, will head back again.
Went with a group of friends here just for craft beers and were very happy with the quality of both local cask ales (not oxidised!as well as the kegged ones.
Interesting menu and really good apple-pear crumble
I wish this place were better. I had a very mediocre cooked breakfast in here a few months back which I really could not recommend. So Id avoid this place for food if that was any indication (and I always think breakfasts are.The drinks selection is fine, but I am not sure about some of the ales on offer. There are better pubs in the city centre very near by.
We had a lovely Saturday afternoon here. Atmosphere was great and staff very friendly and attentive. We had the sharing platter to eat and halloumi fries really tasty and generous portion. My boyfriend enjoyed the house brew too!
We had a big family meal here and it was excellent. From the service to the food, we could not fault it.Our server was polite, helpful and was always there when we needed him (I think his name was Kieran!)Look forward to coming back soon.
Great food and plenty of it, as well as ales brewed in house. Warm and friendly. They also do takeaway for their beer. Yum!
Lovely pub, welcoming, great decor great drink selection, staff friendly, menu looked good so booked for Sunday lunch, oh dear, was disappointed, nut roast dry, veg a little more than el dente ,when mentioned, staff ignored. Personally I am open to a one off but five people ordering five separate dishes and all were adequate 5/, 10. Staff need to listen to the complaints and maybe things could improve. My criticism is based on other acquaintances opinions too.
Had a lovely time at the brew house, beer was great, gin selection could have benefitted from a couple more. Menu was varied and the food tasted delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was divine!!!!
Twice we have held our own pubquiz in the upstair rooms. Each time was a total success. Aimee looked after us very well .The food is excellent and the ranges of ales and wines vast. Also lovely views out of the windows. This is a great place to hire out
Disaster from start to finish - appalling service. Managers need to look into this. Food late and courses served out of kilter with one another and guests. Zero interest from staff - took a lifetime for drinks to come and trying to catch waiters attention (always avoiding eye contact staring at floor). Wont be going back. Too many alternaitve eateries in Norwich who actually care about their customers.
Just had Sunday lunch, food great, roast beef dinner the best around!, followed by Strawberry dessert with light sponge and pistachio nuts, fabulous! Nice friendly staff, and my partner loved the selection of beers, would definitely recommend. Oh and nice relaxing music playing, great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! 😊
We had a really lovely evening sampling a few of your in house beers whilst sampling your tapas selection. My wife was able to access the bar in her wheelchair and you had a good quality spacious wheelchair accessible toilet for her too. The atmosphere was great and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a really relaxed evening thank you!
Really enjoyed our experience. Initially came in for a pint - great selection of beers brewed on site. Enjoyed the porter and IPA. We saw the menu which was really impressive. A great vegetarian selection as well as meat choices. So we came back for dinner the next day, enjoyed a vegetarian sharing platter which had awesome flavours and was huge. I then enjoyed a nut roast which was wonderful (pictured). Would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner and /or a few drinks.
Things have certainly changed from the pub where people went to get smashed or have a late night drink Delaneys. The St. Andrews Brew House looks much more inviting. The pub changed its layout so it could have a food area and a bar area. Unfortunately the bar is cramped as a result. They serve a decent selection of bottled beer and if I remember correctly some good guest beers. They also serve their own beer which is normally a real selling point but unfortunately none of them are worth drinking. The food is mediocre at best and as a brisket lover Id say theirs is best avoided. Unfortunately the pub could be better but there are plenty of other options in Norwich.
Had a sunday roast with a group of about 20 people. Food was excellent. only small complaint was a lack of veg. We ate over 4-5 tables and there was only a small amount of veg in one bowl to share between two tables of 4-5 people on each. What we did get was high quality though.
Fast service but food was disappointing. The potted shrimp (topped with a red butter slab with so much chilli that we couldnt eat ittasted fine underneath. My lamb kebab was nothing like a kebab (more like pulled lamband came on top of a circular bread that wasnt mentioned at all on the menu - I didnt want it and I left it. The lamb tasted OK but wasnt what was promised - it wasnt a kebab!. The ordered burgers tasted fine but were difficult to eat. Chips were good. Beers and wine were good. Service was good and fast which we were grateful for as we were going to the cinema. Will I return? Maybe not.
We arrived around 10 mins early and got sat down to have a drink, we then ordered our food which took an awful long time to arrive. However the staff were helpful and very apologetic to us and got us a drink on the house for our wait. Really nice friendly staff and the food was delicious. Would be 5 stars but had to drop one for the wait. Will definitely visit again.
Good in house brews and some food guest beers. The food was very good, Beef pie was nicely cooked and had a good amount of meat. Would be a great venue for a rugby match in one of the special rooms.
Booked for 43 people for Christmas lunch and had the 2 function rooms upstairs. The booking system online made it incredibly easy to complete our pre-orders and the manager Abi was fantastic at meeting all our requirements, nothing was too much trouble. On the day the room looked wonderful and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was brought out exactly on time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Bar prices were reasonable too.All in all I would highly recommend this place for any event you have planned, absolutely perfect!
Nice place this. We were visiting Norwich for the day and it became a small impromptu pub crawl. We saw this after wandering about and went in for a pint. Small microbrewery on the premises and feels like a micropub but isnt. Its a lovely bar but isnt what Id call a proper pub. More of a younger bar type place serving craft beer (which isnt a criticism, just not my favourite taste. They also serve food at some tables behind the bar but we only had the beer. Of which, it was lovely. I had the cherry porter and it was brilliant. Recommended!
