If it wasnt obvious already, this place is in absolute ignorance of what customer service means. You know that its true simply by the way they reply to negative reviews. They dont want to learn, they dont want to understand customers, they are defensive at every turn and berate customers inside the restaurant and online. Its obvious and easy to see for anyone who suggests that they feel harassed by the incessant asking of additional items, the slow service and the fact that every single person I saw in the restaurant had a problem when I visited.I witnessed an incident with a lady who went to the bathroom as they turned off the lights on her while she was inside. The lady yelps for help but nobody goes to her aid. When she comes out asking where the light is the manager woman barges in and starts being completely rude because the lady was distressed and upset that they were so inconsiderate. There was no apology and the lady walked out. The manager followed her yelling and heckling at her all the way to the street. The owner and manager are busy bodys who want to jump on anybody that thinks the place is less than five stars, which it is, all show and zero class. My food was late and average, overpriced, pretentious place I was appalled at their energy and will never step foot there again or would recommend if you dont want to ruin your evening. Theres way better sushi places that will treat people with respect.Now waiting for them to call me a liar and give me five paragraphs of excuses as they have done to every other reviewer. After all, its the customers fault, right!? Lets wait for my berating coming in 3..2...1......

ZERO JAPANESE CULTURE ETIQUETTEStopped by for dinner tonight. Went to the washroom to wash my hands. Shortly after as Im doing my business someone turns off the bathroom lights. I have my pants at my ankles, so I ask for someone to turn the lights back on to no avail. Its pitch dark in the room, I quickly pull up my pants and try to find the door. As I open the door to the outside and exclaim that someone had turned off the lights, nobody came to my aid, Im looking blindly with my hands and I call for help.Im just at a loss for words from these peoples lack of consideration, respect for privacy or any sort of competent service. Turns out THE OWNER CAME AND TURNED OFF THE BATHROOM LIGHT WHILE I WAS ON THE TOILET, THEN GOT ANGRY AS I GOT UPSET AT HER CARELESSNESS. Instead of apologizing, the owner stands at the bathroom door while seeing me upset at this whole embarrassing and inappropriate situation and has the audacity to tell me to calm down while Im perfectly composed and to "respect her" while she is completely disrespecting her customers with her recalcitrant unapologetic attitude. You made a mistake? Apologize. Simple as that. Apparently she was too good to recognize she had made a mistake in front of her employees.The owner of Sr Miyagi has either never been to Japan or has zero japanese friends. The Japanese would be appalled that a person with this type of behavior and customer service is heading a restaurant that represents their country. She lacks absolutely everything, decorum, composure and leadership. We had to walk out of the place because she refused to apologize, and later chased us out of the restaurant demanding respect she never gave. Completely disturbing behavior. I apologize to any Japanese friends who may make the mistake of stepping into this wreck of a restaurant. Its a pity the values of Mr Miyagi are lost on this business owner. Did she even watch Karate Kid? As they say in Asia, lose face.

Excellent fish in a relaxed, neighborhood environment. Outstanding service and reasonable prices. This is on my list of favorite restaurants in Cartagena

My family and I landed in Cartegena today, not knowing where to eat. We did some research and thought Sr. Miyagi sounded like a cool experience and had good reviews.We were definitely not disappointed! Our server, Duvian was awesome. He was very helpful and his English was good enough to help us with all of our needs. My family ordered the sashimi, octopus, nigiri, and a few other dishes and it was all delicious. I would give this place 10 stars if I could, the people were very nice and everything was cooked perfectly. Their special was an Alfredo pasta with slow-cooked meat and it was delicious and fell apart in your mouth.Duvian was very helpful, he even tried to help us make a phone call to a local place because none of us had Colombian phone service. I’d come back to Cartegena (Mangajust to come back here, I highly recommend Sr. Miyagi!

WOW! 🤩 what an amazing experience. The service was fantastic from start to finish, everyone was super friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best sushi / Japanese food we’ve ever had. My girlfriend is vegetarian and there were plenty of options for her. PLUS an incredible selection of fine Japanese whiskey’s served perfectly and with substantial knowledge. Highly recommended and we will certainly be returning as barely scratched the surface of the extensive menu. Wonderful!

This was the best sushi and best service Ive ever had - all in one single restaurant! Me and 6 other friends came here with no reservation on a busy night and they sat us promptly with the best service staff I could ask for. The food and drinks were incredible, and I particularly loved the design and setup of the restaurant. Beautiful artwork and concepts! Highly recommend to anyone!

This place has the freshest seafood and sushi weve ever had and weve had some really good japanese food in different parts of the world. We wanted to try their best food so we followed the waiters recommendation (dont remember his name, he was from Venezuela). We had the Tuna slices and the prawn spring rolls for starters, then Akira roles, Eel sashimi and some beef stir fry rice for main course. Finally, their house cake for desert. The food was expensive but it was definitely worth it.

If you are looking for great Sushi in Cartagena then you have to stop by Sr. Miyagi in Manga Bay!! It is a small cozy sushi spot where everything is prepared fresh daily. The owners are absolutely amazing and very courteous. I was befriended quickly and treated like royalty while I waited on my date to arrive. I had one of the best whiskey cocktails Ive ever tasted while waiting and was even allowed to use the wifi to kill some time. The menu is robust with plenty of options including sandwiches for those who are not fond of sushi. This quaint location is literally located steps from the bay and offers great music and service to boot. If you are in Cartagena you must stop by here and treat yourself. The menu is moderately priced and I even had food to take home with me. Great bang for your buck. Ill be sure to stop by next time Im in town!!!

GOOD NEWS: The vegan sushi is available and it is super delicious. Please, you dont miss the spring rolls, they are better than most places in Asia. Good vibe and highly recommend if youre looking for a vegetarian/vegan food in Manga neighborhood.

Sushi is amazing. Not your standard type of sushi so sushi snobs might hate on it. They make a lot creative sushis which might not be considered sushi to some people but tastes amazing. Drinks are great too

Excellent Sushi quality and presentation. We enjoyed our food, very tasty. Calm, friendly Atmosphere. Sr. Miyagi s site is very close to the harbour, providing you w very good views, sitting outside. Inside also quite comfortable furniture. And nicely designed under the theme/movie of Karate Kid. But no japanese music played in background on low noise. The prices are comparable with good european Sushi food restaurants. Overall, really good value for money. Recommendable, worth it!

This is the only sushi restaurant Ive ever been to where you can also order a Met-Rx protein shake while Mr. miyagi looks on disapproving with Bro workout slogans. Fish was okay. Rice was squishy and weird. Flavor comminations mediocre. Do not recommend.

I just had best fresh yummy sashimi and nigiri in my life. Never had anything as good as it in whole Caribbean. 10/10. Restaurant is smile, tight cool indoor, 5 tables outdoor, lots of space btw tables. Sashimi is over 7 $, nigiri 6$ for 2 pieces. My lunch was about 110000 pesos.

Delicious! The maki rolls we had were very well made. The fish was fresh and tasteful, the rice well cooked and the combinations exciting. Amazing sushi restaurant by South American standards. Sure it was pricey but worth the price. They had no combos so we ordered 4 different half rolls and for 2 persons that was enough.
