Nice place to have a drink and watch a cult flim. The cafe and cinema are a bit out dated, but thats part of the charm

We decided to have dinner before going to the movie. Nice atmosphere in the cozy foyer. The staff is super friendly and the food is good. You have vegetarian options, fish or meat.

We just happened to pass by this lovely place, and we were so happy that we did! The food was great, the whole place was so cozy and inviting, and the staff and service was amazing! Strongly recommended to everyone who happens to be in Utrecht, even for just a day!

Accidentally stumbled across this cafe on our wanderings. Sat outside and enjoyed watching the world go by. Food was great, smoothies amazing, lovely staff

We decided to stop here when walking past as it was a beautiful sunny day & the seating outside looked too inviting.It didn’t disappoint. We had wine & nachos all served with a smile. Decent size portions & nicely presented.It looked an interesting place inside as the walls were covered with film posters.

Well what a find…beautiful day and we stumbled on this bar with the family…service was great, food….took the time to wander around the bar with all the posters. Cater for celiacs so GF food no issue. If the weather is great and your hungry, stop by it’s a real find and so enjoyable.

If youre staying at Karel V, I suggest you buy your meals here instead. Way more delicious, bigger portions, and beautiful.

Some of the screens are quite small but theres no place like the Springhaver to watch independent films and have a beer afterwards. Its the definition of cozy. Together with the Hartlooper theyre Utrechts cinephile scene.

This my place to go, drink beer, meet with friends and watch passers. The food they serve is of good quality and staff is, as every, friendly. Since Corona time there is even service on the terrace.

Old-fashioned, cosy, real. This place has been a gathering of likeminded individuals since its conception, and I hope it will always stay that way. The place to be if you work in the utrecht film/theatre/tv production industry.

Springhaver cinema and the neighbouring café are go-to places in Utrecht. If not for the choice of beers and excellent koffie verkeerd (latte), then for its outstanding cheese-melt tostis. A great place to eat and meet-up with friends.

An excellent place. Easily the best cinema bar Ive been in. Relaxing and welcoming with a busy, fun ambience. Therr are seats outside for smokers.Reasonable prices and good service. Its cool without being posey.

Although the film rooms are very small, the bar is very comfortable and the staff is very friendly and professional. That makes it worth it. Perfect place for a date

Small but not tiny, cosy but not shabby, this cinema invokes feelings of Paris, cobblestone street and all. The movies have an intimate setting and afterwards there is ample space in the Cafe for a discussion, or a drink.

We didn’t had big plans for the evening. We thought about watching a movie and grabbing something to eat. Stumbling upon Springhaver we were greeted with both. Sprinkled with some Art déco, we knew we came to the right place. Immediately we felt right at home. Despite being here for the very first time. Chatter bouncing of the wall of the hallway lead us to the bar area. We sat down at a little table in the corner. We ordered tomato soup and a burger. I hadn’t had high hopes since our last meal turned out to be not that great and sure, why would you project a bad experience in one place onto another. I guess we are just humans, so I did. But I was pleasantly surprised. The tomato soup was packed with flavor and freshness. The cheese burger with the caramelized onions and sweet potato fries was another delightful surprise. Gratifying well-nourished we grabbed our two tickets and cold beverages. We quickly said “hello” to the ticket lady before we slouched into the armchairs to enjoy what we came for.

Love it. Great cinema. Don’t expect the large luxury seats but be prepared for a nice and cosy cinema. Small cinema rooms. The bar of this place is great and offers a good selection of beers and food dishes. Who needs the movie... Outside seating at the street is nice because you see a lot of people strolling and cycling by. We booked tickets for the wrong date but this wasn’t a problem. We were allowed to take other seats.

Very cool old-school street cinema. Only two small screening rooms, so buy tickets in advance. The attached cafe is a nice place to have a beer before and/or after the movie.

An old but still bustling place, where you can either enjoy a drink or two, or, my favorite, watch a movie. Its an arthouse cinema rather than a mainstream theater. Never too crowded on the cinema side, although it can be on the café side.

It is actually Utretch. So lovely and quaint! Most beautiful clean canals! Great friendly locals! Good food and great bicycle riding paths. Relaxing kind of place to spend half a day when you kinda sick of Loudness in Amsterdam. :)

Didnt go to the cinema but the cafe is tops. Recommended for (latebreakfast, lunch and supper and anything in between.

Great ambiance for an old small cinema. You dont go here for the big blockbusters but for art house films that you would like to enjoy with a nice special beer.
