We booked our stay here to attend TFCon 2022, just a few miles away, and enjoy the many gluten-free options at restaurants in the area. Hotel was clean, room was spacious, staff was friendly, breakfasts were yummy.
Spacious clean rooms. We were allowed to check in over an hour early which was nice. Comfortable bed, quiet place. Staff was great, even when handling a SUPER busy breakfast. Free parking on site.
Had high expectations for my stay here with the other good reviews. However I was shocked by multiple things during my stay.- First room we stayed in we found a roach... staff was accommodating and got us a new room. New room was supposed to be "bigger" but was generally the same size.- We unexpectedly had to pay to park at the hotel. A $60 charge was put on our account.- Another hold of $100 was put onto our account without our knowledge and on the last day of our stay as well. When we called and asked we were given no answers other than that it was a hold.-Overall there is now a $160 hold on my account with no answers to when that will be resolved.Disappointed is the nicest thing I could say.
The first time I came here I was surprised at the space. Its very roomy, and comfortable place to stay. I fell in love with the place that I became a member, and enjoy each visit. I highly recommend giving this hotel a shot. I promise when you try this hotel that this is the standard that you deserve, and everything that this hotel offers.
To be fair, the rooms were clean and the people were friendly. BUT, the rooms and everything in them is tiny. (TV is regular size). Beds are small. Pillows are small. Couch is small. Sink, also small. Bathroom is small. Parking lot, small. Then there is the feeling everything came from Ikea.Leaves you with the feeling you are being shorted.Ill skip this place next time I need a room near ORD.
clean rooms, comfy beds, amazing breakfast! however, the hotel wifi is absolutely horrible. might as well not be connected at all! i had to use my friends hot spot to write this review in the hotel!!
This location is perfect. The staff were great. Super efficient and friendly. The rooms need some work. Well, my room did. The bathing area was clean, but the tub was damaged. The bed skirt and the couch were filthy, with stained. My room definitely needed a deep cleaning. My bed was so comfortable, though. Make sure to bring a plug, because there arent any USB ports to plug into. Not the worst place Ive ever stayed. I didnt realize there was a parking garage, so i parked in the lot. That was extra dirty. There was trash all over, and beer bottles and old food under the dumpsters. That needs a cleaning, too. The staff were all really helpful, and breakfast was very good!
I went to Chicago on an end-of-summer vacation with my two daughters for some downtown attractions for a few days during the middle of the week. I decided to stay out by the airport. As soon as I drove up to this place, I knew I made a huge mistake ... on a number of levels. This place is an absolute dive! It reminds me of a modern equivalent of a 60s-era motor hotel one would find on old Route 66 in rural IL (with my apologies to 60s-era motor hotels on old route 66). From the outside this place looks sketchy and pretty thoroughly dilapidated ... and the inside is not much better. Everything here is run down to the point where it borders on being creepy. I walked up to the front desk and the 20-something was hiccuping as though he was drunk. Despite being reasonably polite this is not appropriate behavior. He put us on the top floor for some reason, even though the property appeared to not be close to being full. He was also the only property staff member I ever saw in three days there. Once in our room, I immediately noticed the place has dogs...barking...including dogs barking late at night. The place also has "free" "breakfast" which compares *unfavorably* with your typical ghetto-grade Country Inn. One would be better off getting gas station food for breakfast. My room appeared to have had the carpet replaced, as well as a paint job, in the last 4-5 years. So the room was not as disgusting as the rest of the property, so it was borderline acceptable (which is why I give the place one additional star above the minimum). Only one of three main elevators was working, and it was already making some disturbing sounds and is perhaps past time for routine maintenance. In the three days I was there, I never saw anyone in the pool. The pool is on the lower level along with the parking garage, and despite card key security, it felt unsafe. Although I was able to park while I was there, there are relatively few places to park both on the surface and the tiny underground lot. I can see where this place easily runs out of parking places. With taxes, parking is like 28 bucks a day ... on top of an already overpriced room rate. Lastly, the internet was broken for two of the nights I was there. And YES, it was broken and I know WHAT was broken as I work as a corporate I.T. infrastructure engineer for a living. Overall, for what I paid for this place, I could have done much much better downtown. Lesson learned. In summary, this place perfectly exemplifies all I dislike about hotels.
The members of the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms seem mostly clean. Breakfast is basic but acceptable. Driving from here to downtown Chicago takes anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic.
Good hotel. Quite busy but patrons and staff are good citizens. Room good for being a budget hotel. Can’t find better bargain. Relax in indoor heated pool - good for kids to enjoy. Great free breakfast. Good place to stay outside of downtown. Although not too far from downtown, traffic doesn’t do justice though. Expect highway traffic delays as part of your trip.
I stay here a couple times a month for work... Always enjoy my stay here. Comfy beds, quiet rooms and its close to the airport. Its definitely my go-to.
Convenient location to the airport relatively speaking. Outback Steakhouse on premises. Parking is $20/day+tax which is steep for a SpringHill. The property is on the older side, but they’ve been slowly updating it. The staff is always courteous.
My husband and I had a quick little getaway there for my birthdayWe were assigned a room on the top floor and the view from there was great .. also we were very surprised to learn that they had a hot breakfast that was included in the morning.. the indoor pool was something to be desired, though it was heated but not at all even deep more for children as I believe it only went to 4 ft (and lots of people& kids in it at the timethe rooms are cozy, clean & very welcoming and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the self-serve hot breakfast with my family the next morning. Im so glad wed stay there. I unfortunately ended up leaving something behind in the room that the maid was so nice of her to take to the lost and found. When I called to ask if someone found it not only did they find it the actually FedExd back to me, a few days later I received it. I definitely would stay here I can and I recommend anyone who is looking for comfort, luxury and convenience definitely stay at SpringHill suites!! They definitely wont disappoint you ..thank you Nicole for returning my items to me! You get five stars from me!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👍🏾👍🏾
From the entrance to the exit the stay was magnificent! Great customer service, clean rooms, quiet on the floors and beds felt so soothing. The Continental breakfast was hot and had fresh fruit. The parking lot is kept very clean. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you
This place is as bad at comes, was able to check in on the app and when I get there it says they have no more rooms. Had to sleep on the lobby couch for about 2 hours until they had a room available, the room was paid in full a a month prior to the visit. Not even a sorry about the situation, I guess that is how they do things in the Marriott location in Chicago. Also, room AC was not working plus the refrigerator was not working you complain and nobody listens. Was expecting someone from the hotel to follow up and what you think happened nothing one month later and still waiting for an apology. You have been warned there are other Marriott locations in the area dont be fooled with the reviews here. Guarantee they will respond to this because everyone will see it, instead of keeping it in house.
Very nice hotel, obviously an older hotel but still nice. The rooms were nice, food was ok, people were friendly but I’d have to say the parking situation needs some help!!! I get it’s Chicago area but you need to figure something out so your guest have somewhere to park. Otherwise nice hotel
I loved my stay here. The staff is so kind. Everyone is nice and helpful. Breakfast is super basic (not even waffle makerbut the view, small details of staff, 24 hr fitness area not super strict on smokers but no smell of smoke in air. The shower has a giant size shampoo conditioner and body wash. Great soft bed.
Just had a family stay at one of the corner suites. The room was relatively spacious and looked great with lots of windows though we had the curtains closed mostly due to the sun. The décor and the furniture were slightly outdated, feels a bit retro but still in a classy taste which I like. The kitchen area was a bit small but manageable. The sink counter space was adequate but hope they utilize the extra space on the side during remodeling. Tub and toilet "room" was a little awkward when opening the door since the toilet is in close proximity with the door, but the area was clean, no damages, no rattling shower plumbing fixtures and sloppy caulking job. Tub drains well! Beds were comfortable. The thing I loved the most about this hotel was the AC unit, its whispering quite unlike most other hotels. The irony is, the noise from I90 was quite loud. Staff member were very accommodating and friendly. Having Outback right attached to the hotel worked out great. The location is near the Cumberland blue line station. You can walk but there is a section of the route doesnt have sidewalk starting from Hooters. So this may not suitable for people with suitcases. The area feels safe overall (during the day).
We were very disappointed in our recent stay, especially since we are loyal Marriott Bonvoy members. When we arrived to the hotel in the evening on a Friday night, over half the parking lot was under construction. We luckily got the very last spot. Not sure what other guests after us would have done for parking. When we checked in, the front desk person gave us our parking pass, which later on we ended up not using. He however failed to tell us it was a $20 charge. We found this out after our stay.We inquired about paying for long term parking, since we would need to leave our car in Chicago. We have stayed at 20+ Chicago OHare hotels and this has NEVER been an issue. The front desk person informed me they only allow guests to park at the hotel while they are staying there. We ended up having to drive our car to a different Marriott hotel and paid for long term parking that same day, and Ubered back to the hotel. We also inquired about the shuttle to the airport. We were informed it runs every half hour, 24/7. When we went down early the next morning to take the shuttle, the front desk person was very rude to us. He said "well we usually wait for more guests before we drive the shuttle". This was very disheartening and frustrated, for this wasnt what was promised. We had to be insistent to the front desk person they told us their policy was it ran every half hour.Eventually he went in the back and had to "convince" the driver to bring us to the airport. They made us feel we were inconveniencing them, and as guests, this was just unacceptable. Our entire experience from start to finish at this hotel was horrible and not up to the Marriott standard. I have already left feedback with marriott and still havent heard anything back either. Very disappointing and we will consider staying at a Hilton next time. We do NOT recommend this hotel.
Very very poor. Thursday and Friday overnight staff is horrible!!! I walked up to the front desk and the staff never looks up from his phone. I am a minority, so maybe this has something to do with the disrespect. I saw the same staff helping other guess with a great attitude. He has been ugly with me for 3 weeks straight. Mondays and Wednesday are awesome but Thursdays and Friday are horrible. I have never experienced this at a hotel. I am very frustrated, embarrassed, and disgusted. I will never recommend or stay at this hotel.
Nice hotel with good size rooms. Amenities are good also with an Outback restaurant on site.Pool closes a little early, 9pm, if you have kids and get in a little late.Still a nice place to stay for a decent price.
Appreciated my stay here for many reasons. First was that the shuttle runs 24/7. My flight was delayed and then diverted to Indianapolis so I got in very late. The hotel picked me up at 2:30 AM and it was not a problem.Theres breakfast every morning thats a bit chaotic due to the number of guests but the staff do a great job at keeping everything stocked.Lastly, the hotel is about a 12 minute walk to the Blue Line station which goes right downtown. There isnt a sidewalk the whole way to the hotel so I suggest crossing the street. A very nice neighborhood and I look forward to returning.
We chose this place as an overnight stay while traveling. We knew that we would be arriving after midnight and they assured us that they had a shuttle bus that would be available, when we arrived. This did not happen. We were told that the shuttle stopped running after midnight. We then had to spend $25.00 on a taxi to get to the hotel. When we arrived, I asked the desk clerk about it and he said that the driver got sick and went home. However; the driver was in the lounge area having a drink and the Shuttle Bus was running idle just outside the door. We also found out that the internet was not working and would not be reset until the next day. In the morning, the complimentary breakfast consisted of cereal and juice. There was no waffles, eggs, or toast available. Additionally, their coffee sucked. When I talked to the day manager about the shuttle, he told me that the hotel policy was to send a taxi to the airport for us. He didnt know why that did not happen. The room was not worth the money that we paid for it and I reported their poor performance to Flight Centre which is the travel agent that we used in New Zealand. We will avoid this hotel on future travels.
Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The sofa was filthy with obvious dirt and stains. We had no desire to sit on it and were almost reluctant to form the bed (we stayed in a suite. The lampshades all had water damage stains. The fridge wasn’t working properly. The additional $7 tax for parking is absolutely ridiculous and not mentioned anywhere on the website- it’s almost $30 to park. It looks like there’s free street parking nearby- I wish I had known that. Would not stay here again.
Avoid this place at all cost. Not worth staying at all.Stayed here for 3 nights:- No room service / cleaning at all during our stay.- No action / much delayed on requested items (towelsfrom customer service- Totally unprofessional staff at customer service, (only their attire is professional)- Parking is paid (20$ per day)Definitely not recommending this place to anyone.Breakfast was okay.
Fair quality at fair price. The location is convenient, being close to the Blue line with easy access from the airport and to the city. But the hotel desperately needs an update. The rooms are large and mine was clean. I appreciated the quiet air conditioning. Beds were comfy. Everything else was below bar.
Nice hotel, spoiled our group with a meeting room.Breakfast.Great indoor swimming pool,Friendly staffLots of parking.Positive. Location is easy access to a lot of places.negative location next to the Kennedy,But I would stay there again.4-2022.
