Large pub with a seasonal British menu, & a terraced garden.
Had a fabulous evening at The Spring Grove recently. Staff were so friendly and accommodating to allergies that I have. The manager Alex was helpful with this and also recommended some tasty gins! I had the Porchetta to eat and it was delicious. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Excited to see the plans that the manager told me has for the pub!
Great flavoursome roast dinner, good ambiance, service with a smile & dog friendly too. Top pub.
I came here on a Sunday and ordered a roast beef, it was the best roast I think I may have ever had in a pub. The beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside (not like the mass produced roasties you get in a lot of pubs), the veg was delicious and the Yorkshire was perfect, it was like a well cooked home roast. There’s also a great selection of beers and wine of which I sampled multiple of both. The staff are great and attentive. The pub has nice decor and atmosphere. This pub stands above all others in thearea and is a must try.
Attracted by the look of this pub, it’s lovely interior and rear gardensHowever the costs are prohibitive! We wanted some pub ‘grub’ and paid £80 for 4burgers and friesAdd two small starters and 3 ice cream deserts. One bottle of wine and 2 beersTotal bit £177 for a Friday night in the pub! I suppose we should have kept track but we had guests and cost control slipped
Great Sunday lucnh & the manager served our table. He was very friendly and funny and great with my kids. Food was delicious and looking forward to the next time we’re back in Kingston! :)
Great food. Great service. Great staff! Lovely pub 😊
Food is fantastic, staff always so happy and accommodating….Would highly recommend this hidden gem
Been a regular at the Spring Grove for years. Great food, friendly staff and great atmosphere and seems like lots of exciting things planned - keep it up!
Great changes to the spring, clean, great food, service is much better then my last visit, will be back for a roast. Thanks again!
Good food wide choice of beer friendly staff and nice garden
Came to a 50th birthday party for a friend - pub staff were welcoming and the area for the party was ideal. Good food, good wine = happy guests!
Nice pub for a drink, but food could have been better.
A hidden gem, the best Pub in Kingston and Surbiton area by far.Service, food, drink Top Class!
Lovely staff and Lovely food. Can’t recommend enough. Seating areas are great and had a wonderful time. Will be back soon. Well done to all staff and chef.
Good sized portions, nicely cooked, extensive menu. Lovely pub, friendly staff
Dangerous wooden slope in the garden. With Youngs brewery prices they should be able to afford repair/replace.A member of staff had a small accident today and was lucky not to be hurt! Its only a matter of time before somebody has a serious injury.
Great staff, well kept beers, and really good food! We’ll be back!
Nice quiet pub with a really good sized outdoor area. A 10 minute walk from Kingston town centre, and about 15 mins walk from Surbiton. It’s away from the hustle and bustle but still relatively east to get to.
Friendly staff, food was good pub standard and they have a little garden out back, plus dogs are welcome.
What a beautiful place, l am struck by the decor and atmosphere of the building, bright, beautiful and spacious. I cant believe after all these years l havent ever been in!My loss really, met up with my friends and enjoyed the lamb. It was nice sitting and catching up after only ever communicating via zoom. It is an experience you dont get on zoom calls.Great food, great service, fabulous place. Xx ❤️
We’ve been going to The Spring Grove on and off for a few years, sometimes for a quick pint and others for a Sunday roast.Never had a bad experience. The food is always amazing, the staff relaxed and helpful and the setting and vibe always super welcoming.I wish we lived closer I’d be in all the time.
A pleasant, well-maintained, efficiently run Youngs pub in Surbiton away from the main drag. Good selection of beers and occasional live music. Drinks prices average for the area, though £7.50 for a small assemblage of chips was a bit of a shock.
Had a very nice lunch. Family friendly pub.
Good selection on tap, very nicely decorated and a lovely beer garden
Lovely pub. Great atmosphere. Good range of drinks.Menu is a bit fancy if youre just looking for something quick but chips were very nice
Our second family group visit for lunch. Excellent service and food is amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal. The staff are very attentive. Superb family friendly pub. Wheelchair access. Our 3rd visit is already booked. Highly recommended.
My first visit to this establishment for a postponed office christmas party.A very nicely appointed pub with a generously sized outdoor seating area. On my arrival at the bar i was greeted by a marvellous small dog perched on one of the barstools who gave me a lovely welcome. My only gripe is that only one of the sinks in the mens toilets seemed to work, though there was a hand sanitiser station in place.
Honestly the best roast beef Ive had in a long time. Really great food, good beer and very friendly staff. Had a wonderful buzzy atmosphere during a busy Mothers Day lunch service.
Had Mothers day lunch here yesterday with my daughter and granddaughter..the poor staff were rushed off their feet as pub was mega busy but they stayed friendly and smiling..My daughter and I had the vegan roast and it was delicious and my granddaughter enjoyed a burger..thank everyone..
One of the nicest, friendliest pubs I have been to. Nice garden, pet friendly, child friendly and a good menu. You should go there.
My family are I ate Sunday roast here today and it was absolutely delicious! We all had the vegan lentil and mushroom pie and it was amazing. Also the staff we interacted with were all really lovely. Thank you
The venue was nice and spacious. It was raining so didnt look at the outdoor area on this occasion. Staff was friendly enough.Ordered food. Wife has the burger which she says she was happy with. Ordered some friend chicken, so yourself a solid and never order the friend chicken. I was simply gobsmacked by the dish when it arrived. In typical menu fashion the dish was exaggerated then what you receive. Also you dont get a side. So again dont order the fried chicken.
Really friendly, attractive pub with a nice food selection. The food is a little pricey for what it is, but generally very tasty.
Throwing a surprise 30th birthday party for 60 people was never going to be an easy ride but from the very beginning of the enquiry Martin and Rebecca were incredible! Every little detail and every pedantic request (from myselfwas dealt with to perfection! On the day the team were brilliant, the food was amazing (best pub roast I’ve had for a long while, possibly everand it was simply the best afternoon!! Thank you all so very much, we will definitely be back!!
We had a very enjoyable evening celebrating our daughters 30th Birthday with family and friends. The food was good and the atmosphere quite special. Thank you to the staff who were both pleasant and welcoming.
Lovely big pub, nice decor and spacious interior. Quite pricey Drinks menu. Have not tried the food yet. Menu looks good, will edit review once had a taster.
Our local pub. Never disappoints. Love it there. And the lady who served us, just awesome. Absolutely love the food portions
This is my local and I’m disappointed to have to write this review as I used to enjoy visiting pre covid. We came for Fathers Day and we ordered some drinks and some food. All v v slow and we had to wait some time for drinks. The food was slow and mediocre at best. I spent £80 and wish I’d stayed at home. Two friends have visited since and one couldn’t finish her food and other was also disappointed for similar reasons and both not returning. Apparently they had a very rude waitress who refused to take back a burger as it was undercooked (they’d asked for well done and it was bloody). I’m writing this in the hope it’s read by the manager and things turn around as I did enjoy visiting prior and haven’t returned since as it isn’t cheap and won’t spend the money for a poor service.
Relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. The beer garden is really stunning. We did not eat on our first visit but we will definitely be returning!
They fitted me in last min for football. Amazing pub would definitely visit and book again. Food is great. It’s very characterful and and the owner is super nice. the staff are great and attentive. Nice atmosphere. But Expensive but that’s London for you
The Spring Grove is my local so I am a fairly frequent visitor(!There is a decent sized garden out the back with covered and uncovered tables and some heaters when needed. There’s a good selection of food and drink - you have to order via the Youngs App these days but it’s easy enough to use and service is normally quick enough. They do great fries! Also recommend the Ox Cheek croquettes but the Padron peppers blew our heads off 🥵😅Very dog friendly. Football fans - they even have big screens for the garden now as well.
Very nice inside and outside, large pub. Staff efficient and friendly.Menu had changed since my last visit last year. We liked the other menu.Quite pricey.
WOW! Had a lovely meal with my children. The outside seating area is amazing lovely heaters under the umbrellas. Staff were super friendly and couldnt do enough to make sure you was happy and comfortable. Food was delicious 😋 Best part, we could bring our dog 🐕 ❤Would thoroughly recommend 👌
We had a brilliant night at the Spring Grove, first post-lockdown night out for a group of mates, and we had one one of the garden huts. The whole garden looked so pretty with its fairy lights, there was a lovely hubbub of chat and laughter, and the hut was gorgeous and warm (has a heater yay!). From the get go the welcome, service and food and drink were fantastic. You order & pay from the Youngs app on your phone and it works really well. The food was delicious - really good pub food, burgers, bangers & mash etc - every staff member was friendly and professional, and all the covid-safe measures were there. We loved it and will definitely return!!
Fantastic, the food was excellent, every ingredient was fresh and full of flavour. Cooked to perfection, ale was in great condition the wine I had with my meal was also lovely the service was very friendly too, the pub itself was immaculately clean and the garden was beautiful. One of the best pubs in kingston. No doubt recommending this one and coming back again!
A pub you should visit, but please make sure you book a table before going here. Best way to do this is via their APP and its called The Spring Grove this is obviously due to covid restrictions and the only way you can get to see this pub.The pub is very deceiving but has a beautiful rear garden with tables and one seated at your table take notes of your table number and again using the app pay for food and drinks which will be delivered to your table via their staff. The food here is amazing as Im sure you will not be disappointed. Parking around the area is quite difficult because its permit holders only however anytime after 6:30 p.m. is fine to park in any of the bays available. The toilets here are spotless the pub is spotless too. Didnt really get a chance to speak to any staff as they were very busy but I can say they were very professional at their job there is also a track and trace system when you first enter the pub on which you will be asked to fill out the registration form this is now becoming a standard as Im sure youve done this before. They also have heaters in the rear of the garden inside the pub is very spacious and clean. I would be very surprised if youre disappointed once you visited this pub if you like to be surprised this is the place. 🍻🍺🍹🍸
Easily my favourite pub in the area. One of the best gardens for a drink or 2, the food is excellent (best pub burgers EVER!and the service is good. Marty the manager deserves special mention. Hes always super friendly and goes the extra mile to ensure were happy.
What a lovely place to spend the night. First night out after second lockdown. That was absolutely a great place with a spacious backyard. Food was great. Especially their slow cooked beef and fish and chips was amazing! Hapy to end my lockdown in here! We enjoyed our food and company..
Great pub. Good beer and food. I have a gripe with my latest visit though. Popped in at 9.10pm for a quick pint on the way home on a freezing evening. Was told to sit in the garden, despite loads and loads of free tables indoors. Didnt moan. Sat in the garden, ordered a beer. Beer arrived and was told "garden closes in 5 minutes". Very strange.
Lovely place for a drink. Not a good experience in regards to food.Staff are nice. Went for lunch taking part of the eat out to help out scheme. Both me and my brother decided to go for one of the specials - the half lobster. There was literally one mouthful/small table spoon. It was served as an empty shell!! I was shocked.Normally priced at $25pounds is a complete rip off. I am not sure if the meat fell out when cooking? It was basically a very expensive chips and side salad. We ended up going elsewhere for a starter as we were still hungry!Next day we went to Cote in Kingston which offers a whole lobster for 27pounds and it was very fleshy and had plenty of meat and not served a empty shell.Such a shame as staff are nice and is a pleasant place for a drink.
