Spring Garden Family Restaurant in Rockford
Description
Privilege
I had a eggcellent Chefs salad and my wife had spaghetti and meatballs. Dixie was an excellent server and all for a reasonable rate.
MoreFish was not very good never had a complaint about the fish well just hope the next time I have it hope it better than this time
MoreWent there for my fiances birthday for breakfast with my parents! Our server (unfortunately we didnt catch her namewas AMAZING!!! I truly appreciate he singing happy birthday and joking around with us! She even gave us some homemade cookies!!! Best breakfast Ive have in awhile! Thank you so much!
MoreThe server and people are nice and I use to swear by this food but its pretty low quality if you look closely.
MoreTerrible!!! Called to order a soup and asked if I could add bread and butter they said no I asked again if it could be done for extra charge and she said yes the lady asked how much I wanted and I said what could they give me ? She then said no bread just crackers like I cant buy bread with my soup ? Lady also had a bad attitude whole time disappointing because I usually order from here but never again !
MoreI picked up two separate orders this morning and the staff was very rude and unhelpful. Every time I come here I feel very uncomfortable
MoreNever disappointed. Food and service is excellent. Quality experience.
Food was great!! Staff was friendly.
Very nice place, the service is excellent and the food is very good. The potato soup was outstanding
MoreThey are kinda rude, and I think the prices went up. They forgot some of my food but still charged me for it. Feel like its better places to go
MoreGreat deep fried shrimp, the vegetable beef soup rocks, and the service is terrific! Thank you, Debbie and crew!
MoreAll food cooked to order, great friendly staff.
Great place, great food. The vegetable beef soup is the best around.
Fried cod dinner was greatOur server was knowledgeable and did a good job.
Very good food. I left my phone at the restaurant. When I returned the waitress met me at the door and gave it to me. It truly is a neighborhood stopping ground where people care
MoreGrabbed breakfast after a long night at about 4 am. Awesome that its open 24 hours and the food was great.
MoreThey dont accept credit cards after 8pm. There is no business worth me paying a ridiculous atm fee. Why would I sacrifice my 3% cash back for this place?
MoreI definitely would recommend Spring Gardens, everything is Delicious , they remember me every time I call to order, very nice Staff , Chef ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐sec
MoreWent late night with an old friend. Great and speedy service and excellent atmosphere for being a down home type restaurant. Definitely recommend.
MoreSo annoying when you cant simply update hours on google. They are not 24 hours as we pulled up at 430 on a Sunday and they are closed. Wasting a persons time is the worst!
MoreI will never eat here ever! Thr staff is super rude, like they are doing you a favor my taking your order. last year the waitress was coughing up a lung and not covering her mouth. And the bathrooms are disgusting! The whole place smell like an old latrine.
MoreBeen coming here since I was 2 or 3. Now a young adult. Food always immaculate, service always grand. Would give more stars if possible.
MoreI come here a lot to pick up orders to deliver and let me just say… There’s only one person working during the late hours and I usually see Billy there and not only does he always have my order ready before I walk in the door but even though he does everything absolutely by himself he always has a smile on his face. He always treats me with absolute respect. There’s also a woman who works the late night hours when Billy isn’t there that I see and she’s also just such a sweetheart they never complain they do a great job and the food is pretty decent especially for places in Rockford and especially for a 24 Hour Place..:.They have a great variety as well so there’s definitely something for everybody. I skim through the bad reviews on here as well and most of them are issues that could have been a avoided but the customer was either entitled or out of it. Definitely will continue to eat here and grab orders from here
MoreCame here for breakfast with my wife. She had biscuits with gravy and I had a gyro breakfast plate. Hands down the best gyro breakfast I had. Fresh tomatoes, delicious gyro meat, perfect potatoes. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and delicious breakfast. Also, friendly service.
MoreRacists towards people of colors. I was locked inside the restaurant and called you people. Then proceeded to accuse me of stealing food. And wouldn’t let me get contact information to file a complaint. Complaint has been filed thru Uber Eats.
MoreDO NOT GO TO SPRING GARDEN! I was dashing yesterday and the owner made me get out of my seat so a wyt guy 🙄 could sit in my seat and it was several other seats available, then she said she needed to watch me confirm the order because "you people wont be stealing from me" is what she said... I did report them so they are under investigation but just be aware especially if u are dashing
MoreFirst time ordering from here, but wont be the last - delicious food, fast prep time, reasonably priced, and all special instructions as requested. Door dash delivered right away, fast and friendly and food was still warm. Best fried chicken Ive had in a long time. Yummy Western cheeseburger that hit the spot.
MoreHi fellow foodies! We decided to try this place for a late night dinner and were so happy our son found them. They are open 24 hours Monday through Saturday and Sunday till 2pm. The food was so good. We had the burger with bacon and a fried egg on it. It was amazing! The desserts were fresh pies, and cheesecake. This beats the pants off of Dennys and our server was so quick, had suggestions on the menu for us to try and took excellent care of us. Thank you Spring Garden and staff! We will definitely be back for round 2! 😆 lol
MoreVery delicious food at a cheap price, love the ladies they were great and thank you to the hostess for getting my littlies a candy bar! They love it
MoreApparently the only place open after midnight (that I could findfor the bar crowd. More than adequate. Food was good, service was excellent. I would come back.
MoreThe food was great and the service was very quick, the reason for the 4 star is I believe the restaurant couldve been a little cleaner.
MoreFood is ok. Usually not too happy with the late night cashier. Always has attitude as if you intervened him from blowing a c**k. Should lose that guy before you lose customers....
MoreIm still going to be the bigger person and rate 4 stars because the food and menu range stays bangin. But idk anybody who likes ordering through GrubHub, placing a special request order for no beans, just to be met with two tiny trays of the NASTIEST looking refried beans I have ever seen, touching my rice 😂Maybe dont recommend order accommodations or add-ons for online but, if you are ordering at the actual restaurant itself they always take care of you 100% (:
MoreGreat service and good tasting food. If youre looking for a late night bite Spring Garden is the place to go.
MoreClaims to be open 24 hours even on their website but lady says they close at 2 pm? Then was placing an order on door dash for pick up and they turned off their system while I was checking out. So called to place the order and was reading what I was ordering on door dash and the lady didn’t know what I was talking about when giving her the names of whatever I wanted to order and she had no idea! Great false advertisement. Thanks for ruining my families lunch. You lost out on $100!
MoreFood was ok. Chicken was special of the day a little dry and tasted fishy. Mashed potatoes and gravy were smooth and yummy. Corn was canned corn .salad was fresh and good what you expect from a family restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Willing to give it another try for breakfast.
MoreCame in with Low Expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Very evident this is a “locals” place as people are being greeted by their name.. The 3 egg Spinach Omelet had fresh spinach, diced tomatoes, crumbled bacon and Swiss cheese with hash browns and choice of pancakes or toast. Plenty for 2 to share and reasonably priced at $12.75. The booths and table tops nice and clean and our waitress Thelma was quite personable, patient and attentive and if that isn’t enough, you can also play the slots 🎰😉
MoreHad the 2am burger. Was alright, plonty of food 9.80$ with tax. Nice to have a 24 hour restaurant to get food at sense I work 3rds and Im usually up when most are not. Better than fast food for sure.
MoreThe wait staff are decent but there was an issue with the food. We ordered three items, a hamburger, a french dip, and a taco salad. The burger was mediocre at best compared to other places I have been. I would rate the burger at 3 out if 5. The taco salad was not enjoyed by the person who ate it. It was very apparent that they used a bag of mixed lettuce, the kind you would get from your local super market. It was also iceberg lettuce. Why use iceberg and not shredded? At least get the taco mix and the salad mix. 1 out of 5 for the taco salad. The drench dip was fine until we found a hair in the center of it. This was after half of the sandwich had already been eaten. We alerted the waitress and she offered to replace it but we refused. They did remove the charge from our bill which we appreciate. 1 out of 5 for the french dip. Overall composite score including wait staff is 2 out of 5. Will probably not visit that location in the future.
MoreNot sure...they are usually a 5...friendly...ButIdkFood was good.Picture of half of spinach omelets and pancakes
MoreI usually always get the same thing which is Debs skillet for breakfast and its always done to absolute perfection; the chicken is prepared perfectly, juicy and tender!I always get my eggs over easy which are perfect even when I order to go and I really just enjoy that family atmosphere that has always been here.I love that Betsey always knows I forget to ask for fruit for my pancakes!Keep up the good work everyone! I appreciate you!
MoreI havent eaten in the restaurant yet, but I pick my food up fairly frequently and the staff is always friendly and helpful, the place looks clean and well maintained still. The food on the other hand is always immaculate. I am slowly working my way through their menu.It helps that you can get anything on the menu any time. Which works for me because I can get a omelets at 7pm.
MoreGood food. Open late. Had a nice experience. Lots of food options and good price.
MoreOpen 24/7 for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Has patio for outside seating & separate room for bigger parties. Huge menu. Friendly & helpful servers. Delicious food & great prices.
MoreNever been inside here, only got delivery (actually waiting for it right now ahahaha). The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. A particular favorite is the turkey plate: their dressing is SO good! But breakfast is great, too, especially the omelettes and hash browns. And we love their burgers; great quality meat and cooked to order. Plus, they deliver until 3am!
MoreFrom my experience, I can say this is the best restaurant Ive visited. Only being a small walk from where I live, its nice not having to drive ten to twenty minutes to a bar or pub thats a little more expensive. Yes, here and there they may forget something in your order but they do make up for it if you tell them. (Thank you Betsy! Its better to go around the night hours, the atmosphere is definitely different from the daytime. I have yet to get their breakfast at night but from the reviews Ive seen, Im definitely going to try it soon. Give them a good tip, theyre doing their best right now during this pandemic.
MoreGreat service. Delicious food. Highly recommended
Holy Spinach omelette! Seriously one of the best dishes ever!!! Fresh spinach... not the canned stuff... thoroughly packed with the proper amount of fillings. This local lovely might be a little rough around the edges and the service can be a bit slow... but the food is awesome and the portions are great. Great tasting value! And they don’t charge an arm and leg for a breakfast mimosa either. Also try the jalapeño cheese potato bites... very tasty offerings here!!
MoreI used to eat here all the time, the food has been steadily going downhill both in portion size and edibleness.... Today was the last straw when I had an over-peppered brick of beef disguised as country fried steak drowned in a lightly salted but otherwise flavorless paste masquerading as gravy... It was awful, burnt, and smaller than an average Beef patty for a burger at Culvers.... The eggs were tiny, the toast had margarine instead of butter, and the wait staff didnt even check on us.Ill never be going back, RIP to another Mom and Pops who couldnt even keep food quality and customer service...
MoreLet me tell you a tale of three servers, all past their prime. Smokeys mere presence is enough to induce an asthma attack in those not acclimated to the fog of tobacco smoke that clings to her withering frame. Dazed seems confused about her role in, well, everything and seems to be great at wandering aimlessly for extended periods of time. Lazy seems incapable of doing much at all.Lazy was coming in from her smoke break when our story begins. She huffed passed us, cursing another staffer for having closed the back door on her. Despite being only two strides ahead of our party, Lazy let the door slam between us while I juggled a baby in her carrier (ironic, isnt it, to shut a door on us?and then failed to greet us as we entered.Once inside, Dazed tells us to ignore the "Wait to be Seated" sign and sit anywhere. This would be a good thing, if not for the fact that all but one unoccupied table was littered with the remains of previous patrons meals."Anywhere" was thereby reduced to a booth at the back in Smokeys section.Smokey seems struggling to do much of anything yet she is saddled with a party of 9 and several full tables while Lazys tables are occupied by trash. Unsurprisingly, our little party of three isnt greeted until we are ready to order. I get a skillet and hot cocoa, my husband a country fried steak and coffee. His cup is overfilled not allowing him to add the required cream and sugar to make the stale coffee palatable. My cocoa arrives and appears nice enough at first glance until I nibble away the whipped cream to reveal undissolved instant cocoa on the brim. I choke down the the weak cocoa and about half way through am able to reveal a significant cake of powder at the bottom of my cup. I begin to stir and am then advised to photograph it by my husband. We wait nearly 45 minutes for food. In this time Dazed walks around holding menus (not for anyone, just holding them), then repeats the process with a cup of coffee. Maybe she felt they needed a tour of the place, I cant be sure.Smokey comes around and asks to top up the overfull coffee, my husband declines. Right behind her is Dazed - offering refills. To this we reply with a blank stare and she moves along unphased not realizing the ridiculousness of her attempt at being useful. After this the idea dawns upon her to rid one of Lazys tables of trash, just one though.Smokey now begins serving the party of 9, two plates at a time, each laborious trek to the kitchen visibly weighing on her, slowing her already sluggish gait. Once the last of the party is served, the first are done and request boxes. Our food is next, my skillet is cold and served on a cool plate instead of the titular skillet. My husbands food is best described as a burnt and over-peppered brick of beef disguised as country fried steak drowned in a lightly salted but otherwise flavorless paste masquerading as gravy. Our "buttered" toast is cold and slathered in a thick helping of margarine. We arent spoken to again for over twenty minutes until Dazed yet again offers coffee. We ask instead ask for the check. At this, Smokey moves with heretofore unseen speed producing a $22 bill which doesnt seem to be an accurate reflection of our order. We pay and leave without thanks, never to return.
