Splash Rock Port Edward - Tourist attraction in Port Saint John's, South Africa
Fresh air good food great company and breathtaking views what more can I say
Excellent family getaway- Port Edward
My favourite fishing place
Very nice place to unwind
Healing experience, you will forget about daily stress
Wonderful to just sit and watch the awesome power of nature in action, as waves crash into the rocks with spectacular splashes leading to the name of this vantage point. Free access along the coastline
Its a place mostly for fisherman
Great view and good fishing
This place boosts of its proximity to the beach and the beach such that the visitors can come anytime and view the amazing phenomena. The splash is so cool I love it. This brings in revenue to the town and the splash is free to view and experience. What happens is when the water 💦 hits against the rocks 🪨 it creates an enormous splash that cannot be seen anywhere in South Africa 🇿🇦
This is a nice spot with stunning splashes of the rocks and from May to October you may be lucky to spot the Whales and Dolphins.
Lovely location for fishing🎣, but too much off smelly bait laying around 😩.
Cool & cozy
Not good. Smells disgusting and I would not recommend. Theres too many fishermen around at this time of the year.
Lovely place, looks good for fishing
Stunning spectical, to watch the waves splash high into the air.
Great Beach for fishing and dayout
Open to the public this is a nice viewpoint and when the ride is in the splash is worth seeing.
Bathing, very good spot for the family, fishing very good as well, parking is nearby. Picnic facilities available.
Good for the family weekend outing
It is not always happening, parking fee of s too much. Rather park off the street and walk.
Beautiful place! 👍❤
What a lovely experience to watch the waves splash up against the rocks and the antics of the fisherman
Beautiful wild waves. Popular fishing spot. Swimming area not far. Great parking and picnic spots if you can bare the wind.
Beautiful fishing spot.On the high tides, a beautiful scene to watch the waves hit onto the rocks and splashes like a waterfall
A beautiful area and view. Quite treacherous if you cannot climb rocks, but the parking area for vehicles allow you to get out, enjoy the view and absorb the seas energy.
The most stunning spectacular wafe breaks against the rock formation, sometimes they reach +/- 25m, when is high tide , Its a very nice place to catch fish as well, shad madness.
Wow what a beautiful natural place. You can feel the ocean.
It was an amazing experience. The sea breeze is wonderful and therapeutic. It can get windy, but overall its good.
Fisher mens paradise. If youre not fishing, the beauty of the ocean will captivate you. Theres something amazing about waves breaking against that rocks. Just being in the presnce of this spectacular is enough to make any person feel good. Several restaurants are also in the area with nice watering holes.
I had wonderfully experience the place is clean, u get to enjoy the nature and it wheelchair accessible.
Port Edward is a delightful little town located on the south coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Beautiful unspoilt beaches with an extremely rocky coast line. Fishermen dot the coast line. Visited by tourists from other provinces in South Africa. Friendly locals eager to have a little chat. A visit to Beaver Creek Coffee Estate is highly recommended.
it very nice nd quiet i would love to visit again
Well maintained and has many friendly locals there are a few strange characters hanging around but of no harm
Nice fishing spot, locals are very chilled and helpful, worth it to support the town, remember you will require a fishing license.
Honestly shocked at the state of this entire area. It is filthy beyond belief, and even worse because I witness a lot of people cleaning up every morning. The "locals" just seem to make the place siff and then the government must send cleaners constantly to at least try and up keep it.
Found the area disgusting with all sorts of debris from entrance to beach front....such a great pity, because apart from that it would be stunning.....please keep our places of interest a pleasure to visit😢😢
Brilliant angling but along with the catchy name... You better bring along a rain suit and exercise extreme caution as giant swells smash against perfectly placed flat rocks that makes angling both extreme, exciting and most of all REWARDING!
What an absolutely stunning sight. The pure size is astonishing.
Beautiful view point, worth a sunrise morning visit. Take a flask and a risk to enjoy whole you watch the fisherman do their thing.
It was impossible to find really among the rocks that were all splashing similarly - but in any case a nice place to park and watch sea. Close to lovely beach, supertube and beach food stall.
Stunning photos does smell like rotten fish though
My Husband and I come here very often. He loves fishing here. I love to relax and watch the view. Alot of wild cats that live by the rocks. My daughter loves taking her net with to catch and release star fish..... little fish etc
I have been visiting splash rock since I was a baby. It is one of my favourite place to go and sit while reflecting on life. Great place for some fishing and dolphin watching. Out of season it is very quiet and clean here, however during the holiday seasons it gets busy and people tend to not know how to pick up their own rubbish after. So I recommend avoiding during Christmas and Easter time! A beautiful spot in a lovely town!
I have been coming here since I was a little boy and always enjoyed the locals and this is one of the best angling spots in my opinion that the South Coast offers. Rod holders are available, just bring your own pipe if you ars trying for the big ones. Water is available. No dissapointments guaranteed.
Great fishing spot, be careful as the rock is very slippery and the sea will sweep you off at high tide. Best to fish with a local
Great place for fishing or site seeing, only problem is the local fishermen act like they own the place and have zero respect. Treat tourists like rubbish and are somewhat racist to none whites.
Alot of fish..garrick..shads
Nice place for a day visit. Lots of fishing goes on and watching the waves hitting the rocks has a hypnotic effect. Plenty of parking space is there.
Fishing spot and tourist attraction to come watch “splash rock”
Its a nice spot to catch fish the ocean water splashes onto the rock
