6 Clarendon St, Derby WA 6728, Australia, Derby
Surrounded by lush gardens, this relaxed apartment hotel is 8 km from Boab Prison Tree, and 3 km from the Derby Jetty. Derby Airport is 10 km away. The simple apartments feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and microwaves, as well as washing machines, private terraces and minifridges.Amenities include a restaurant, a bar and an outdoor pool, as well as BBQs, parking and airport transfers.
Depressing room, no decor. Noisy Aircon. TV sound quality dismal. Shower water temp just warm. No Internet. Meals expensive.
We had an overnight stay at the Spinifex Hotel. I had to make a change to our booking and communication was great. The hotel is centrally located. Our room was clean and tidy with all facilities used in working order. Carpark is secure. Staying within close proximity to the pub was not an issue, the pub was quiet. The food at the pub for both dinner and breakfast hit the spot and the service was awesome.I definitely recommend staying at the spinifex Hotel.
Dont order the pork red curry. Dry snd tasteless.
Thank you very much guys! Absolutely beautiful meals, great service and venue! Will be back one day! Will also share our experience. ππ½ππ€€π
Vivienne was very helpful in fixing a few things for us.Thanks so much, Vivienne!
Many have described this establishment as quirky due to the appearance and varied sizes of the rooms. My wife and I had a good time here with a great room with spa bath and the dining experience was excellent. Great food and service, plus the manager Anthony was a top bloke who really looks after his customers.
The food is disgusting and overpriced for poor quality. Entree usually means come out first when your told its an hour and a half wait. But when it all comes out together and is such poor quality it is really disappointing, most of the meal was left on the plate as it was too bad to eat.
Great place very clean and friendly staff
A nice hotel but so slow This could have been due to staff shortage
Avoid this place we booked and sue to horizontal fall incident we cancelled. They would not refund the money and where very rude to deal with . We notified hotel 3 days prior to our arrival as soon as we had notification of our cancelled tour. Shame on you spinfex you are money hungry theifs
This place is great!Friendly staff with amazing food, pool tables werent buggered like most outback places and beer ontap was on point!Strongly recommend you come here for a beer and a feed if your in the area!
The place is disgusting I would rather stay at the public toilet in derby they are cleaner then this hotel r so glad the boss has move us out in in to the lodge across the road because we have been here for 3 mouth and it is never clean it is disgraceful needs to be bulldozed
Staff are rude and arrogant, the specials board in the restaurant was empty for the 7 days we stayed there. The menu was plane and boring. The key cards for our rooms would never work, TV did not work, power cut out all the time, ran out of toilet paper in my room and was told I could not have any more. Poor service in the bar area again with rude and arrogant staff members when u do get served.Over priced and not worth it!!!
What a great place to stay. Our room was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. Great food and friendly staff. What more could you want!!
Ok.Service and food great.Rooms poorly maintained.hmmmm... test your environment against your experience when booking a room..When management told of their short comings ....no return comms...Does that say it all?????
Stayed at Spinafex Hotel in Derby with my tour group. Had great rooms and we had two dinners at the hotel. Chef Ruwan has been exceptional with communication and accommodating and providing excellent meals for my tour group of 17.Looking forward to our next stay on Saturday 28th May
Room was not clean.Sheets not changed.Fridge not empty from last occupant.Late check ins kept evryone awake till 2pm.No-one at receptionto help.Wont be back.
Its ok since its the only place in Derby to eat??? The staff are friendly but could be more accommodating, the food is basic pub food at restaurant prices but my chips were cold π
Pros: 4 walls, air con and a door that locksCons: glitter, bread crumbs, toilet paper and hair in your bed.Hot tip: BYO linen in the wet
Got cold chips and wouldnβt offer take away containers. Cheers kenwar
Changed a lot in 30 years. Very impressive upgrades, good pizza, nice and cool
The single rooms are basic to say the least bit if all you want is somewhere clean to stay, a bed, shower and tv theyll do. Probably getting to the point where a refresh is needed
Let me tell you a story, booked 4 people into the restaurant for a meal, conversation went like this, could I have the Beef Cheeks please, sorry they have run out, then could I have the Barramundi please, thats run out as well could I get a pizza please, sorry no pizzas tonight then what is on the menu..chicken parmi...ok we will have 4 of them. They turned up over cooked, can I pay by credit card please sorry the system is down...cash only. Can I back charge it to my room...no...and the ringmaster was in attendance..only people missing were the clowns...what a circus.
The drinks were icey cold... the service was very friendly and the Spini Burger....OMG.... was the best burger I have ever had... It was amazing. Great atmosphere, very clean and a great way to relax after a busy day of sightseeing.
I called and asked if the restaurant patio was dog friendly, they said yes. I went and asked and they let us and our dog in. We had a bottle of wine and then management came over and advised it was not dog friendly.Just let us know from the start its not dog friendly.
Friendly and helpful staff. You pay top dollar for a room , $ 240 a night. Bed is comfortable. Room isnt spotless, but, they are based in a very dusty dry climate and of course, staff are at a shortage due to covid, so my normal expectations for the price, has relaxed. Im just grateful that they could fit us in after our JB van fell apart on the Gibb river Road. Thankyou Spinifex... I would recommend you to everyone. Great food at the pub by the way.
Nice, clean and modern hotel.Menu prices are a bit high
Accomodation was handed over not even cleaned, once cleaned it wasnβt clean, we booked a table which wasnβt booked, they left us standing around, then they didnβt get the meal order right even after I triple checked it, avoid Spinifex if possible.Around about 20 car parks for 130 rooms just doesnβt make sense good luck with secure parking.Go to neaps!!
No Wi-Fi in the room. The only washing machine that worked, 1 of 4, was dirty. Only dryers no washing lines. Room was nice but needed repairs. I will go elsewhere next time. Litter around the property. Pool was nice
Food was very ordinary. Should be one star but staff were good.
Big, well-equipped, very clean room. Good parking. An interesting town.
Airport prices, draught beer was off tap. Ordinary, but with the Boab pub being refurbished there nothing to keep the spinny honest.
Absolutely loved our food! Large selection of food and drinks. We had the special pasta and lamb shanks and were very impressed.Service was very good too.
Great bar and service but when we rang up to order pizza my partner was hung up on and then when I called back was refused that they could do pizza for us. Poor service and rude lady on the phone. If you cant do the service dont offer it simple! We have travelled Aus and never encountered such rudeness with no solution to what we want. Will tell everyone we meet along the way to steer clear of this place.Massive thumbs downs!!!!!
One star for value for money. Very small room and price excludes breakfast and coffee (add another $24.50- not worth the price. Food was good though.
Awesome place to stay, the rooms left nothing else to be desired, they had absolutely everything we needed. The bar staff in the restaurant were completely awesome too, although the Irish guy was a bit difficult to understand and his jokes were somewhat offensive, the kiwi guy Nitch Root was incredibly welcoming and absolutely wonderful to chat to
This is a fairly new premises in Derby with all the facilities. When we were there the chef really wasnt on the ball with providing the meals that were asked for. But it is clean and you get a cold drink with good service.
Stayed in Derby Caravan Park and decided on meal at the hotel Monday night. Rogers Amber ale on tap was superb. Meal chosen in restaurant was big mistake. Lamb shanks were like old boots. Should have sent them back and asked for a refund.
We had a motel room here as the Boab Inn had closed. It cost a bit more but was so worthwhile. A really comfortable, roomy and well-equipped room. Really a one bedroom flat or studio. Excellent.
Had a very nice Saturday lunch of grilled barramundi, chips and salad. Canadian barman was pleasant and the Swan draught was refreshingly cold.Atmosphere was quiet and relaxed . 7/10 .π
Great service and great staff.... working with film crews can also be trying as we never keep to the schedule and these guys were very accommodating. The rooms were great, very clean and tidy, and well looked after.
Food was yum, was pleasantly surprised, nice wrk team, we had lunch one day and then dinner the next, needs better lighting inside, lights too bright and music in dinning areas in background, create some ambience instead of glasses and dishes banging around, great staff
My partner and I went there for breakfast today, the Indian chef became irate when I placed our order because I had trouble understanding him, meal was average coffee was tepid and bitter had to race to toilet 30 mins later. Complained to reception, not really interested.
Beer was good but ordered steak at 7.15, my friends meal came about 1/2 hour later but they seemed to forget mine and when it came at 8.20 it was very ordinary, steak was shriveled up and I clearly got the dregs of the vegies
It is what it is...a pub...However the reception staff is pretty useless. They dont want to help and have no customer service skillsI had to go there again with work. Two months later and my opinion stays. I had lunch and that was nice! I had dinner and that was not nice!! Same menu, but different shift. Also someone tried to nick a wallet from our table. Yes while we were sitting there. Staff couldnt deal with it.
For a small town hotel this place has remarkably good food! The marinated chicken breast and standard breakfast the next morning was the best out of all the towns we stopped in during our road trip through the West Kimberly region βΊοΈ
The Spinifex Hotel is the spot to be in Derby. Clean, modern rooms at reasonable prices with quiet AC to combat the warm the conditions. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is great. And of course the beer is cold!
Rooms looked good and were clean. Good service and overall quality. Downside at the bar and restaurant, you cant buy your meal and drinks at once.
It gets a one star only cause you cant select zero....food was overcooked ..sauces mismatched and the Thai fish cakes had only a bit of fish in it and rest tasted like flour....beer was ok though
Very nice pub, extremely rude unfriendly big manager, no hello or friendly service. Staff friendlt, food ok and chef willing to please. We were repeatedely offended and will not return.
