Spiggie Beach - Nature reserve in Shetland, United Kingdom
Spiggie Beach in Shetland
Description
Privilege
Beautiful beach with white sand. Often frequented by basking skills at low tide. Extremely scenic. Sheltered voe depending on wind direction.
MoreSpiggie Beach (Scousburghis another of Shetlands gems. There is a car park down a rough track and walk between the dunes and onto a lovely sandy beach. It is ideal for spotting wild life. The Loch of Spiggie is behind the beach on the other side road.
MoreBeautiful bay. Perfect for a dip. Incredibly clear water and views to two other bays. Tranquil and quiet. Bumpy ride to small car park off the turning behind the RSPB hide. So much wildlife. Absolutely stunning. Like so much of Shetland - a real treat!
MoreBeautiful beach, sheltered in most directions so the sea conditions can be relatively calm in spite of typical Shetland weather conditions! If you swim here you may have encounters with inquisitive seals...
MoreCold but sunny - as you might expect for early April. As spectacular as ever. The sea has evidently been up to the edge of the dunes over winter, making a steep drop to the back of the beach.

Cracking spot
Beautiful views & lots of sleeping seals on the beach , August 2021
Lovely white sand beach with seals and seabirds to see more seals go around to the bay on the opposite side not alot of parking space but great for a morning walk
MoreExcellent,saw seals
Wonderful; timeless, soft, evocative
Beautiful remote beach
Beautiful and peaceful place! I strongly recommend 👌
Huge beach, perfect for having fun or just watching the tides rise and fall
Peaceful and quaint.
Great wee beach, clear water, nice sand and lovely bit of shelter from the wind!
One of our favourite beaches in Shetland. Visited by at least 5 seals ( lucky not 6 with present rules re Covid). Not too much seaweed as on some beaches.
MoreSo beautiful!
Fine beach very clean.
Beautiful out of the way beach.
Beautiful beach. One of my favourites. Be great on a summers day.
Beautiful pristine beach!
Beautiful little secluded sand beach. Seals are in the bay and so could be killer whales. Theres a path going along the bay heading west starting from the parking area. Or you can have a nice walk on the beach.Access road has some potholes, but should be fine for any vehicle. Parking on hard sand, no level places. Theres room for about five vehicles Id say.Signage says not to leave caravans unattended here, which seems oddly specific.
MoreBeautiful, perfect peaceful white sandy beach.
What an absolutely glorious white sand strand. High dunes. Turquoise sea. Seals and orcas in the bay. Seabirds above and on the cliffs. And hardly anyone there. Unlike a lot of Shetland beaches, also east access on a flat track through the dunes from the small car park and form sand making walking feasible for the less able.
MoreI think its the best Sandy Beach in Shetland or the south end.
Stunning
