Spicy Affair - Indian restaurant in Arrecife, Spain
We had an amazing meal here last week. We went for the set menu and it was delicious. The food was outstanding and staff were friendly and polite. If your looking for Indian food I would recommend this place highly. 👌
Top class food, service was amazing. Dont judge a book by its cover. The helpfulness of the staff and the food was top class.
We had our meal today and throughly enjoyed the vegetarian meal and service was excellent also they took care in not mixing non veg with veg and look after our need definitely recommended this restaurant spicy affair Costa teguise xxThank you for making our Diwali wonderful
Absolutely one of the best Indians we have had ...superb food ...restaurant very clean and friendly staff 👌
We had a fabulous meal last night, very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning to try some new dishes.
The food was fine . Until we saw the waiter take the used sauce from our table and place it on a new customer that just arrived. All we could think from that point on was who ate our food first 😒. Never again
As a chef myself of over 30 years and now running 17 restaurants with work, Id like to think I know a thing or two about great food. Both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our meal last night. Our curries were delicious, certainly one of the best Ive tasted for some time so yes, I would recommend the Spicy Affair for anyone who likes Indian food or indeed anyone who likes and appreciates excellent food.
Went there told waiting was about 1hour small place, pictures of the sitting area is cramped, wouldnt bother.
Deepak was an absolutely brilliant server and the food and drink were all amazing. He had great knowledge of the menu and gave us great recommendations. All very reasonably priced and was very close to our hotel and to the seafront.
We are currently sitting within the restaurant; what to say?We have had a great meal! I’ve been craving a curry all week - odd I know!We ordered a main to share, to which the restaurant had no problem with. Onion Bhajis and Popadoms to start with. Both were exceptional, well cooked, and tasted great. Not to mention, not an drop of grease in site.Garlic Naan, was a little different to what I expected - not in a negative way but was layered with fresh garlic cloves rather than a garlic butter.Beer was served in a frozen glass, which was welcomed after a spicy curry.Anyway, overall the curry was great and tasted. Definitely recommend a visit.
the place is a dive, dreadful food that took an hour to serve, the manager was unhelpful, give it a miss there are better Indian restaurants in Costa teguise
After going to Spicy Affair this evening I definitely didn’t leave disappointed. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Even as a fussy eater I could dine with them and I was also told that they could customise a dish to suit my personal taste. Would 100% recommend and would return again soon.
Always feels like home. This is a sign of a good long term customer relationship directly from the owners.
After trying the most popular Indian restaurant in Costa Teguise, we thought wed try another and so glad we did! The other just tasted like something Id make at home out of a jar, whereas Spicy Affair tasted authentic. I asked if they did spicy poppadoms and the owners response was "we do everything" I knew from that moment on wed found the one! Everything was cooked to perfection and so much choice compared to the others. Well definitely be returning when in Costa Teguise. Thanks for a lovely meal 👍
I believe they have now moved from their old place.I just hope its the warm and friendly hosts that had the other restaurant.Really fantastic food they served freshly made each day.Cant wait to get back and try them.again in DecemberA must for curry lovers
Loved the food here but they are gone now. Place is for rent.
Had an authentic Indian food after so long!! Amazing food and taste!!
Went here for valentines night food was lovely 😊 service great service would go again
Authentic food washed down with Kingfisher lager..whats not to like. Very bright clean place with good service.
To be honest, the 3 Indian restaurants weve eaten in on Costa Teguise have been good but Spicy Affair is absolutely fabulous. Its a small family run restaurant with sensational food. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and if you fancy a dish that isnt on the menu, theyll make it. I cant fault this restaurant at all and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. 🙏🏿
Nice food, attentive service, reasonable prices. Worth a visit.Another visit to its a spicy affair and it was great. The gentleman who served us kindly advised us on portion sizes to avoid us over ordering....which was nice. We had the complimentary poppadoms to start followed by a chicken jalfrezi and a chicken birhani. It was all absolutely delicious. Beautifully spiced and flavoured. Including 2 beers we were charged 27 euros. The portions were more than enough for us, service was superb and the food truly excellent. Highly recommended.
Brilliant food well cooked for you, by friendly owners, during our stay we have visited twice, so far, food os excellent service is great, all cooked fresh for you by owners wife.
Went here last night and a great, traditional curry. Tried all the curry houses in Costa Teguise and for me this has to be the best. Better menu and choice too. Had to wait a little longer but it was worth it.
Lovely food yet again. Wonderful, friendly staff. Best curry in costa
Enjoyable meal. As a larger group we were told it could take longer to be served, as we expected however it was on the very long side, but the food was good when it arrived.
One of the nicest curry I’ve had abroad, authentic food served by enthusiastic staff who are kind and clearly love to share their culture.
Absolutely delicious meal, extremely pleasant owners with brilliant service. The wine was also top tier. Cant recommend enough, will definitely be back!
Went for my birthday meal here woth my partner and my daughter on 3rd August excellent fresh homemade food owner was very friendly and was a lovely experience his homemade ice cream was deliciousWill go again before we head home
Amazing authentic Indian food. You dont have to eat poor tapas in Lanzarote! Eat the best, freshly cooked, home made food - better than the best Indian in the UK. You wont be disappointed.
We had a great authentic Indian dinner, tailored to our spice and taste wishes. The owner is very welcoming and gave us some good food recommendations as well. Dont forget to try the ice cream too!
First customers in the season to stay after 11 pm thanks to the end of the curfew. We had very good meals, and I strongly recommend the currys. The hosts were really really kind and welcoming
Very friendly host, eager to make our food experience great. I ate King Prawns Masala, it was amazing. Naan is soft and fragrant. Would recommend this place for a nice dinner.
Had an absolutely lovely evening here. Food was great, service too notch. The people working there who I assume are the owners are so friendly and helpful.I honestly cannot fault this place and if I were looking for a good curry again I would head straight here.
We had a delicious selection of starters, and very tasty biryanis (one lamb, one vegas our mains. We came based on the excellent reviews we read and were not disappointed! Our servers were really lovely too. All very safe, hygienic and with plenty of space to eat both indoors and on the terrace. A great evening and delicious indian food, would highly recommend!
Spicy Affair - the smell drew us in and we ordered simple meals Tikka Masala. Both meals were tastless absolutely no flavour. Shame, the service was quick and the owner very nice and apologetic. Maybe a just a bad night.
Set back from the main road but food is excellent staff are great and friendly hope to get back before we leave.Been back here for the second time this year (2020)my last review was 2019 food doesnt disappoint great service too a must if you like Indian food
Had a brilliant meal here last night. We both had the set menu €12.95 and it was good. Great service and definitely worth a visit 😀😀😀
After reading the reviews, thought we’d try for our last night! Wow, what a curry house! The food was up there with some of the best curries I’ve had! We booked a table with the promise of 50% off which we got! However, after enjoying the food so much, we decided to pay above this as it was worth it!
Fantastic food and service every time we visit. Two vegetarian meals here in three days. Across both meals we ordered vegetable chasni, vegetable Malaya, channa masala, sag paneer, shahi paneer, coconut rice and peshwari naan. All were so delicious. The owners are very attentive and it is such a pleasure to dine here. Looking forward to next time already!
Having been to Costa Teguise many times, and also being a fan of good Indian Cuisine, I cant believe this is our first visit to Spicy Affair.Lets just say.......We have found our new favourite Indian Restaurant.....so sad we cant take it back to NI. Cant wait to return!Definitely 5* in all aspects, thanks so much!
Best indian restaurant in teguise. Food fantastic and service even better. You wait a little longer because each meal cooked from fresh. The 3 owners are the friendliest people you could meet. Cant recommend this place enough.
I’m a big fan of Indian. Asked what was the best was told the chicken tikka Masala. Had it with butter naan and rice and it was incredible! Perfection of a meal.Towards the other restaurants on the island, the quality of chicken was better and value was great.Service and owner was great, drinks generous, will have to come back while here. Ate late so it appeared quiet but don’t let it deter you.Didn’t get better pics because was too busy having my favorite meal in Lanzarote :)
The most important thing about this review is to tell people that the food was very poor.We ordered food to take back to the apartment as one of our kids had taken ill and we couldnt go out to eat.Upon being ushered in by the friendly street promotions guy, I was subjected to the hard sell on starters and beers to take with me, along with the main meals I had ordered. I politely declined and was offered a complimentary beer while I waited at the bar for my food. Again I declined, but after being offered 3 more times, I accepted. The street promoter seemed surprised when I said I would take a small Alhambra. I wondered why he seemed to be trying to "upsell" me to a large Cobra, with it being complimentary and on the house, but Im sure now I was just being naive. (Im a 49 yo man.)I managed two slurps of the beer, but left it as it was completed flat and devoid of anything resembling fizz. I turned down the offered replacement as it was on the house and I didnt particularly want it in the first place. The food duly arrived and we set about a game of "Guess the Price". The friendly street promoter with the teardrop tattoo operated the till and came to a grand total of €44 odds for two mains, two rice and a nan. I thought it should be just shy of €30 myself, and so we began the process of disproving the total asked for. Eventually, after a few failed attempts to operate the till and a failure to switch on the backup calculator, I used my phones calculator to type in his numbers. We got near enough the price I thought it should be, but there was an extra €2.90 on the bill which was explained to me as a local sales tax. I wasnt sure, but paid the bill and got out of there, as I was losing the will to live at this point. I later realised this was probably "beer tax" for the complimentary beer.Anyway, onto the food............My wifes Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh had generic bottled Indian cooking sauce flavour and my own Chicken Tikka Madras was like thickened chicken stock with green chilli sauce for heat/flavour, with small pieces of (non-tikkachicken in it. It was spicy, but a chore to eat.The upshot is, I definitely will not eat here again, because the food was bad and I think I was conned. Although thats just my personal opinion. Make your own mind up and check your bill carefully.
Excellent food. We had a meal from the set menu, and it was gorgeous and plentiful. The staff were courteous and respectful and helpful. The main menu had plenty if choice.
Im a english lad and the food was top class just eaten here and would highly recommend . Even my little girl loved her chicken nuggets and chips. Service was amazing will defo return.
Tried this indian resturant awsome food great service proper authentic food if you know your curries then you will love! it here the dishs i would recommend is the vegiterian the chick pea and cauliflower curries both were great huge portion sizes if you like your food. The naan options we went for was the pashwari naan and the partha naan both were fabulous!!!!.Dont be put off buy the arkward set back postion of the resturant it deffinatly worth it although we did go to the other indian resturants here like Royal Indian cuisine it was nice but not quite as good for the flavour. I have taken the time to write this review so it helps travellers like us to enjoy good food without making the wrong choices we might regret. Going back to the uk but will deffo come back to spicy affair again in a few month.
Guys dont miss this food its great!!!Got to be honest has to be the best indian restaurant on the island.Friendly service very welcoming I would definitely visit again the chef knows his stuff making original indian food it was refreshing to have eaten tasty food rather than the bland boring food we got back at the hotel!!!
Food ok but the service was extremely dire.Ordered at 7:45 and starters came out at 9 along with one out of three main coursesVery disappointingTable beside us overcharged and saw people leaving before their food was served because of the wait timeStaff not the friendliestOnly come here if you’re willing to wait ages for the food
We had three vegetarian dishes and a kids meal. The food was fine, but not as great as some other reviews suggest. The nan bread was really good. This restaurant does not serve lassi!
