Amazing food with a great kick 🤩 I was spoilt for choice with the plant-based menu, the staff were super friendly and happily recommended dishes. Highly recommend the Samosa Chaat to start! My partner isn’t vegan and thoroughly enjoyed it too 🙌Lovely interior, friendly staff, tasty food. We’ll definitely be back.
MoreOne of the best curries I have ever eaten! The onion bhaji was delicious!!
Amazing food, very nice, friendly folks working there, cute, casual, again amazing food /)
MoreExceptional Indian restaurant. Gorgeous flavours, great vibe and service. My favourite restaurant in Walthamstow. Love it!!
MoreThe chana masala, pumpkin cashwe and coconut curry, garlic naan, the sides and sauces were so good. Good ambience and very friendly staff. Would definitely visit this place again
MoreA really nice experience all around. The food was super tasty and filling. The service was just on another level. Our server was the sweetest, attentive, caring and funny. Kudos to her!(Visited the Leytonstone branch)
MoreFood was excellent. Service good too. Was just really sad to see the place so empty. We will be coming again to support this place.
MoreThe best curry I have ever had. Highly recommended. Lovely staff.
We had a really lovely dinner at spice box, food was delicious and priced well. Even my non-veggie partner loved it. Also nice to see local beers on the menu
MoreDelicious food, great service and a fab fun interior. Looking forward to coming back for brunch.
MoreHad a lovely meal on a rainy Tuesday evening, really enjoyed our DIY puri and we shared some delicious curries. I look forward to eating there again!
MoreHad a wonderful evening here with great food at a reasonable price- The Chick’n Tikka starter was incredible! Molly went above and beyond to look after us, we will be back soon!
MoreNice atmosphere with a friendly waitress. The food was lovely. Definitely will be back.
MoreGreat flavors, cool atmosphere and kind waitresses also very cute xoxo
Really tasty vegan curry with a lovely light dining room in the back. Really friendly service
MoreWent in on Saturday and had a great time; the food was incredible, the staff very attentive, and the atmosphere/vibe was wicked. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends
MoreReally great food and excellent service from our server Amy. We loved the food so much we bought the cookbook too!
MoreI came here today with my friend, food was so delicious and loved the masala chai negroni recommended by Bette who was absolutely fabulous!
MoreI got the vegetable dansak. It was more like a mildly curried stew with huge chunks of potato and carrot thrown in than a curry. Disappointing for £10.
MoreOne of the best Indian restaurants I have been to this year!! I got the mushroom madras, and it was amazing just the perfect level of spice. The restaurant is a bit small, but it makes up for what it lacks in space, with tasty food and super helpful and attentive staff. The only negative I could possibly give, was that the saag aloo could’ve been a bigger portion- but next time I’ll just have to order 2!!!
MoreWould give 2.5. Service was lovely but the food was meh. It all came out very quickly which made us worry it wasn’t made to order. The garlic naan was cold, soggy in places and not garlicky. But the dhal was gorgeous. We also noticed we were charged £1 for water even though the bottle was brought to our table without us asking for it. We assumed it was tap water (I even saw them fill another bottle from the tapand wouldnt have asked for it so it’s a shame for this to be added.
MoreDelivery arrived completely wrong , customer service unhelpful. The Food that arrived was tasty but shame we had no rice or naan to eat it with even though we’d paid for it , no attempt to help us with refund or anything 😢
MoreHad previously ordered large takeaway for a group of friends and it had been a solid meal. Returned again tonight after a few months to pick-up some takeaway for dinner: 1x vegetable cashew and korma, 1x chickn tikka masala, 1x organic basmati rice, and 1x chilli garlic naan.Whilst the food tasted good, the quantity of vegetables in the two curries in contrast to the sauce was incredible disappointing, basically 1 chunk of each vegetable swimming in a lot of sauce. The korma had half a baby potato, which I had to cut in half so my wife could also have some potato, along with a few pieces of carrot, and a small piece of cauliflower. Similarly the tikka masala came with three pieces of chickn and two large pieces of green pepper. We spent most of the meal breaking the vegetables into manageable sizes, so the naan would go further.Im not one to write bad reviews, but this was incredibly disappointing, especially given the price. I wont be returning and would not recommend it.
MoreWe went for "Full Indian" lunch option that had plant based sausages.Delicious! All the ingredients in the plate fitted together nicely in terms of taste. There was sour, umami, salty and sweet. Very well balanced. Staff was friendly and we will be coming back soon to try dinner menu.
MoreWhile the restaurant was nice and service was decent, food was really not great.Prices were what I’d expect but flavour was massively lacking. It was just very meh… Wouldn’t visit again.
MoreLove this place! Great food, friendly service, kid friendly, dog friendly. Weekend brunch menu is amazing!
MoreWalthamstow gets a curry house to shout about; OK Ive been away for a while. Strictly vegetarian (even the chicken, yes its vegetable proteinbut who cares with such great flavours and a dahl to die for. We had the shroom keema, chicken korma, chana masala and the dahl with a portion of rice and a nan and yes, for 3, we over order but the takeaway boxes were on hand so breakfast was sorted.
MoreExcellent vegan food - not your typical curry house- I had the Full Indian which had a Spicy jackfruit beans, crispy Bombay hash, Symplicity sausage, Indian guac, pickled pink onions, date and tamarind chutney, roasted portobello mushroom, toasted sourdough. Other members of our group tried other equally Interesting and curious spin off of traditional dishes - service was good.
MoreFantastic friendly service, amazinly awesome delicious food!!!the loaded bhajis were unreal, best garlic naan weve ever had, mushroom Madras so flavourful, loved every mouthful!!! thank you so much... wonderful experience all round... deffo worth traveling down from Newcastle for 💚🤘😁😎🌶️
MoreThe food from here is absolutely delicious but since they’ve taken themselves off Uber Eats, their minimum online order is £37.50! I live on my own so I’m never going to spend that. I really miss the food and just find it such a weird decision. I’d happily pay a fair delivery charge but instead it’s basically inaccessible to me now.
MoreQuestion: Is this the best curry in London?Answer: YesUnreal. I eat here so much I bought the recipe book.Xmwshx
MoreThe best vegan place in town. The food is absurdly good! I usually order delivery from here, but bought a friend to try the restaurant and OMG that food plus that service = 😍. Ricardo the manager is soooo nice! Definitely made the experience great!!!Also, first time trying their cheesecake and I’m speechless. Not that it was surprise since the food is just impeccable, but… 🤤
MoreOne of our favourite meals we’ve had in Walthamstow and the staff are super lovely. The loaded bhaji and chilli garlic naan were our favourite dishes. Will be back to try more!
MoreService was nice but unfortunately food wasnt up to it. A bit different to other Indian places but not in a way which elevated the food. Dont get the "Chickn" - no problem with meat replacements as a concept but unfortunately this added nothingProbably would have given 3 stars but the price was really high for vegan food: £70 for two people with one drink. Jai Krishna offers similar sized helpings, as tasty for half the price.
MoreFood was good. Not knockout but nice. I am no vegan but often have vegetarian curries/ vegan curries. The dansak with Chickn was good. And the starters we had were all very nice especially the loaded bhaji. The jackfuit curry unfortunately was a bit samey and it was really quite expensive.£70 for 2 with 1 drink each and not a huge amount of food.I would probably recommend as somewhere different to try but not somewhere I will keep going back to
MoreGreat menu — perfect for a ‘tapas’ meal to try the different street food options.Slight shame that the little sundries (chutneys, pickles, etc.were separate and extra rather than part of the poppadum appetiser as you’d normally expect.Loved the decor post-refurb: fresh yet cosy!
MoreExcellent service, mediocre food.I waited three days before writing this review, trying to decide whether I should write one at all. Reason being, the service, especially by the lady with the American accent (my apologies if Ive got that wrong), was excellent. They even removed one of the dishes from our bill as we didnt like it.Unfortunately, thats as good as it got. The food wasnt great and the restaurant has not catered for families with children as there was nothing, food nor drink, that any "normal" eight year old could would happily consume. There was no sparkling water or lemonade on the menu. My daughter spent most of the evening picking at her food and asking for more sugar in her fresh lime soda.We visited here as a party of seven, all Indians, and we all felt that by trying to give North Indian dishes a western twist, that theyd lost the essence of Indian street food. Also, we all felt that the prices of dishes were that of what youd find in a non-vegetarian restaurant, say for a chicken dish. This place is great to visit if you want to try something different. Perhaps bring a date here.Three stars for the excellent customer service.
MoreGreat modern interpretation of Indian cuisine, amazingly rich vegan fair with umami out the ears for everything on the menu. The Shroom Keema is incredibly rich and delicious, and the Dhansak is very bright and tasty. The naan was perfect for dipping into both, and the Lassi was perfectly refreshing to balance the saltiness of the mains. Definitely pricy for the portions, but all the food is very filling, so we left full. Highly recommend a try for anyone into veg modern Indian.
MoreBest Indian restaurant I’ve been to.Amazing vibe. The team was super friendly and welcoming. The food was spot on… I even bought their book! We travelled all the way to Walthamstow and it was totally worth it.
MoreAmazing food! I had take away twice and both times everything was great, fast, tidy and reasonably priced making this restaurant my favourite take away in the neighbourhood! Loaded bhaji by far my favourite dish!
MoreBrilliant vegan indian. Options of classics for those that miss them being vegan, Korma/Masala. That wasnt the draw for me and the rest of the menu had more than enough to suit my taste! Also a tasty own brew on the drinks menu.Have grown to love a roti over the years but had the vegan naan and was very pleased!Service was brilliant and attentive (but not over the top thank goodness), happy and friendly staff also made a huge impact on the vibe.Planning to join the tiffin club and would definitely eat there again.
MoreThe waffles got nice flavour, however, it probably sitting a side for a while , whole texture is too hard . Chai is a bit boring... could be stronger, richer.
MoreVibrant and super friendly place with attentive staff and delicious food. Everything is vegan, but with excellent chicken and prawns substitutes in many dishes, non-vegans will love it too. The Goan praun curry was fantastic, and the mango lasso afterwards was delicious :will definitely be back.Find the entrance easily with the what3words address ///bank.chair.gift
MoreEaten at this cosy, vibrant restaurant twice now and loved it both times. You can see and taste the hard work and passion that has gone into this amazing venture. It takes us 40 minutes to travel here and its worth it! Good prices too for such excellent food. We (2 pplwere stuffed and nicely drunk on £52!Make sure you have the chickntikka starter.
MoreVegan food full of yummy goodness! A lot of thought has gone into these dishes and you can taste it from the very first bite of each dish. Make sure you book a table in advanced as the place gets busy and fills up very quickly. The portion sizes are a perfect amount; before you know it, you are full! Highly recommend the cashew and coconut chick’n korma and the jackfruit jalfrezi. Order with rice and roti. Loved the onion Bhaji - it was so crunchy! The great thing about the dishes at Spice box is that you can’t even tell you’re not eating meat.. the flavours are that delicious! Take your non vegan/non vegetarian friends and I guarantee you they won’t be able to tell that they’re eating 100% plant based dishes. Love this place, you won’t be disappointed!
MoreGreat selection of excellent vegan food. Very good service and the staff where friendly and helpful. Recommend getting snacks, naan, rice and a main to experience the full taste; if its too much they will bring take away pots for you.
MoreThe staff are friendly and the setting is cozy. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t tastier/more creative than cheaper places offering the same cuisine, so the price is kind of ridiculous :-/It’s a shame that supporting local business has come to mean paying £12.50 for a happy meal and £3 for a lassi out of a carton.
MoreLoved it!! Absolutely delicious food served by a really passionate team. Theyve created a lovely little restaurant with a great Indian vibe in this corner of North East London 👌 Went for brunch and had the Thali (with an extra parathaand doffles (dosa waffleswith fried soya chicken.
MoreBest brunch menu and vegan food I’ve had in so long. Such attentive service and great recommendations! Spicy Mary was insane! 🌶
MoreWe made our debut visit to Spice Box in early Feb 2019 - all round a brilliant experience. My wife and I aren’t vegan and we both found this another great example of myth busting that vegan food can’t be incredibly tasty. We both had the full Indian breakfast from the brunch menu. Tasty, with amazing flavours and very filling. And great value for money also. We’ll be back for dinner.
