Really disappointed with the food. Ordered fish and chips x 2 and a meat lovers pizza. The fish looked and tasted like it came out of a box from the supermarket. The meatlovers pizza was even worse , especially for $21. It looked like a Romanos pizza from the supermarket, with a bit more cheese added and a swirl of barbeque sauce. The crust was so hard it was inedible. Shame they no longer offer Newcastle Brown beer either. Certainly wont be eating there again, but still ok for a pint.

Great English beer, relaxed atmosphere, Thursday night $10 fish & chips (delicious), no-one smoking, will go back.

They do some great beers off the tap and the food is good standard. Good screens for watching the sport so I come often for the rugby.

Great spot on Browns Bay side for refreshing drinks both alcoholic & non alcoholic & great food to go with it.Well priced meals with a good selection to choose from.We called in for Lunch after exploring thelocal shops & a wander along the beach.Check it out when you are at Browns Bay.

A busy bar with lots of English patrons, especially during sports games & weekends located acrossthe road from Browns Bay beach. They have a meal deal nightly with things like fish n chips, steak night etc which are popular. Its clean, a bit dated and has three outdoor areas of which are okay but not overly glamorous. This is a "pint & a pie" local pub youd expect to find on any street corner in England. "Man size portions of hearty fare from a decent pub menu with no frills. Sadly, the food we had recently wasnt as good as previously so not sure if staff/management have changed. Their nachos used to be legendary!The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Clean friendly pub, good prices, kitchen seems to close a bit early at 9pm though?

The best ever steak and guiness/ale pie, chips and mushy peas i have had in forever. No fat on the meat which was great...I could just eat it and didnt have to pick bits out. So yummy!!!

Smokers are always in the non-smoking section. Smokers/vapers always sitting in the smoking section & never enforced by staff... end up inhaling either a taboacco or strawberry/watermelon infused smoke/vape clouds (usually from the "regular" crowd!Favoring regulars over legal requirements in my opinion. You need to have more enforcement on smoking regulations.

It was a great night out for a birthday meal. The menu online differs from whats in store - no prawn twisters but apart from that the steak and guiness pie was divine. The portions are a great size!! Recommend

Got asked by the bar staff to be quiet after a Champions league final, not yelling literally just sitting around talking about the game because a bloke decided to take his gran out for lunch.

Great position right by Browns Bay beach. Good food except for one steak meal, but cost of that meal refunded. Good service on such a busy day

Was a pleasant Saturday arvo to sit outside and enjoy a few beers with great surroundings also had a massive plate of wedges with a monster amount of sour cream ...almost too big .will be back for sure

We went with great expectations on easter weekend.Service was poor and unfriendly from the outset.We asked a couple of questions about the roast with negative and unhelpfull responses.Ordered a couple of our favourite UK drinks and two special roast meals and waited. Roasts turned up and the quality was below acceptable.The venue itself was clean, great TVs and nice punters..Wont be rushing back.

Kia ora,I had dinner with my 1 year old son here a few nights ago and I was told to try the guiness pie, well what I can say I was shocked honestly how delicious it was! I recommend this pie 100% it came with mushy peas that my son loves! And also came with fries, dip your fries in the pie its delicious! I cant stop talking about how good the pie! Thank you speakers corner 🙏🏾

Great place for lunch and a pint during the week if you enjoy pub food. Plenty of specials. Bar staff was friendly.

Walked in and was told to sit. So we sat. caught the eye of a waitress and she continued on about life as if we didnt just wave her over.We were walked past 7 times and still nothingWaited 15mins before someone asked us if we were ok (and this was the guy that told us to take a seat and hed be right over). When we said we wanted the steak, we were told theyve ran out (but the sign was outside and no one bothered to tell us before telling us to sit)The place seemed like it was understaffed, but it most certainly wasnt, id say there was more of a problem with the training of the staff or they just didnt care.Have worked in hospitality for years, and havent seen something so bad.Wont be back

Scanned in was ignored for 15 mins, staff were rude to another lady opposite me. That lady asked a waiter something, she just walked away with 1min gesture and never gone back to that table. The waiter was chatting with her colleague.Some regular locals arrived and seated after us, treated like royalty served both staff chatting and laughing. We even have offered menu that stage. so decided to leave. Not extremely busy that time.

Great price, good portions. I had the ham steak and pineapple on chips with salad and it was tasty. Great atmosphere, would go again.

Tables and menus were filthy and staff refused to clean as they had “been too busy”. When I asked for a cloth to clean things myself I was refused as it “is not my place”. After table finally cleaned, a dirty menu and filthy cardboard coasters were put on the table. Another unhelpful denial and argument from staff about being too busy to clean was forthcoming. I walked away, only to be abused by the manager 5 minutes later as I had “made her waitress cry”. I asked her if she was serious and she replied “yes, I stand by my waitress and not the customer “. I can not believe the attitude of the staff and management of this establishment. They chose to open in Red Level so they should be abiding by a certain level of hygiene that is appropriate with that level or don’t open until Orange or Green. What’s an even bigger shame is Colm knows the owner and I think he would be horrified to know how things are being operated when he is not here. Very disappointed and will never encourage anyone to go there while these people work there.

Great little spot! Stopped in for a quick ale on our way to Long Bay...really nice atmosphere, and we could sit outside with a beach view and watch the world go by! Ordered a bowl of chips as well which were beautiful!

The food was OK, a little undersalted to my taste. Service was good.

I went here this afternoon with my friends keen on a nice day out in the sun. When we arrived we asked to order a cocktail (everyone was 21 years of age and overbut we were refused. When we asked why, the lady at the bar said her manager doesnt feel like making it but soon after made a cocktail for some older ladies which we found discriminating to our age. We went on and ordered a pizza, when we got the pizza it had absolutely no flavor, when I brought this to the managers attention she never once asked if we would like a new one or said sorry. Instead she continued to argue with me saying she is right and i am wrong. "dont you know what a pizza is suppose to taste like" she said to me, her options to me were to either take it or get it thrown out. When I advised her I want a refund she continued to argue with me and say "Youre not getting a refund, you can take it or throw it out" I never in my life had such a bad experience eating out in my life.

Food taste like it was made in a microwave the tap beer verity was decent. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is the staff was really nice and good but was really disappointing. The Pub remains me of a proper English pub but still needs an update

Love it as Im originally from London so it had great memories around the walls etc. Food was good and reasonably priced.

Lovely location, lovely views but thats it !!! Garbage food....ordered halapeno and cheese poppers, breads & dips and dumplings. After paying $35 we tasted each dish and walked out in discust. Clearly this place has fallen into foreign ownership like too many already on the coast and it shows :( Everything served was from pack n save and totally discusting. This is clearly a profit only restaurant and they could not care a less what slop they serve you so u be best to avoid.

Awesome setting with friendly attentive staff. Great selection of beers with Speckled Hen being an absolute bonus. Best value for money with a true pint not your 40mils being the order of the day. Will be back.

Love the old English pub style. Staff are lovely!! Got a plate of Wedges was huge and had plenty of the toppings. Food has changed alot since I was last here. Atmosphere can be serene during the day or on a quiet night to all out fun and rowdy when a big game is on. Highly recommend

Great pub in that resembles a British pub. Great outside area with a view of the beach. Tasty pub grub with excellent prices and amazing selection of drinks however the service wasnt good but i feel the girl was new.Recommended coming here if your in the area.

The only truly independent pub I know. Great selection of tap and bottle beer and not tied to any single brewery. Food is great value - get the curry of the day with half chips and half rice!

Great service, friendly staff who joked as they served me. Food got to me within 10 minutes and was hot and fresh. Will visit again
