SpeakEZ Lounge in Grand Rapids

The best restaurant in Grand Rapid. This is my top recommendation for drinks at the bar, weekend brunch spot, dinner, or a weekend morning soccer game.Edit: Initially, I was saddened by the removal of the vegan crunchwrap, but then I remembered that its SpeakEZ and everything they do is amazing. If I could give you a 6th star for creativeness in your menu that is continually consistent, I would. Thank you for being such a staple for me in this community!

They slashed their portions and evidently did not update their prices to reflect. Also no updates to the website to let regulars know. Just ordered a simple appetizer of chips and dip (same thing I always getand they served me 2 tablespoons of dip and when I complained their way of “making it right” was giving us 2 more tablespoons. Should have just asked for my $11 back instead of giving them the opportunity to correct.

Food so good it makes my mouth water thinking about it. Amazing service and personable staff.

Good food and atmosphere. It’s got a cozy, dimly lit classic bar vibe. Definitely the spot for soccer games. The food can be a bit slow, so if you go during your lunch hour I’d recommend putting your order in quickly. The pit boss wrap is so good.

SpeakEZ has the best mushroom soup, I am proof as I am not generally a mushroom fan. Allie was our waitress, she did such a good job and was so sweet 🥰

Stopped here while in Grand Rapids, loved it! I had the Paisley Park, it was very good.

Food was good, service from our waitress was amazing, I am assuming a shift lead or manager was kinda cranky because of our group size. But otherwise good.

Brunch was delicious. Did discover this is an official pub for the Arsenal America soccer team so you might get caught in the cross fire of that. Overall great place to meet up and get a good brunch.

By far the best place for brunch! Not only is the food always amazing, but the staff and environment are top notch. We love coming to the SpeakEZ!

Visited last night based on a glowing review in last Sundays GR Press. It was surprisingly not busy and was seat yourself. It took at least 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table even though it was clearly not busy and I made eye contact with several employees... staffing was not an issue, there seemed to be plenty of people on staff. When we finally got our drinks we ordered falafel and a grilled cheese. When that finally came my order (falafelwas wrong (waitress claimed later she mis heard me). I waited probably a full 15 minutes for my correct order. Of course my husband was already finished with his grilled cheese (with what looked like ruffles potato chips on the sideso I asked for my food to go. When I tried to transfer my falafel to the to-go box it was just a pile of mush. I tried one bite and it was barely cooked. Needless to say I left it on the table. They did take the falafel off the bill, but given that I sat for so long with no food in front of me, nibbling on my husbands ruffles potato chips, youd think a visit from the manger, or at least an offer of a quick appetizer would have been in order. We did tip for the drink delivery... I have never not tipped a server, regardless of the service... but this was as close as Ive ever been to doing so.

If you like roaming screaming kids with breakfast covered in sugar this is your place. Good cooks but why soak a bagel in syrup. Wish I knew this ahead of time. Great coffee and food except for the sugar but not everyone needs a diabetic coma but please if your gunna just hang out get a sitter your kids will not want to be there. It is not customer service to ask me to work to see your menu. No one like to waste their phones battery to scan some code

A gem. Of Grand Rapids. If you have not been, GO!Mild Prices, bold flavors and awesome Hospitality. One of my personal favorites in West Michigan. ❤️I also love Bob, Jeff and EZ.

This place is awesome! I used to go there at least once a week when I lived on the next block, food is fantastic and the people were always very nice. I havent lived in GR for over a year but still think about that crunchwrap often...

I must have ordered the two worst items on the menu. Came in before the fireworks and got Brussel sprouts and mushroom soup to go. I asked the server of the mushroom soup was and she insisted it was very very good. It was awful and runny and tasteless and the brussels sprouts were pale and about the only thing they tasted like was black pepper. I won’t be returning to this place again and I will not be recommending it to my friends. Must feel the rest of the food is fabulous

Great food, great area, great experience. We come for weekend brunch and have never been disappointed. Live the atmosphere here and always surprised its not busier. Love coming here and bringing friends from out of town is a guarantee win for the visit.

Stopped by to rest and grab some food after wandering around downtown GR in the heat. Food was decent, beer was good, but the best part was definitely the friendly staff. Always looking for decent conversation when sitting at a bar, and I got exactly that. I would go again.

We were first-timers at SpeakEZ Lounge for Brunch on this Sunday morning. Our server, Mesha, was terrific - and also helped by making some great suggestions off of todays menu! Actually, looking at the menu I believe every choice would have been great to try, but it was just three of us, so we narrowed it down to: The Relegation, Blackberry Monte Cristo and The S-E-Z CBH - ALL THREE were delicious, great choices!!! Definitely will return for Brunch again and other meals to try at SpeakEZ Lounge!

Super friendly staff and really good food. Our group got appetizers and beers for the table. Falafel, Spinach dip, Bruschetta all fantastic.

Fun place for creative drinks with cozy booths. This time we hit the appetizer menu and everything was just great. Bruschetta 😙🤌,with perfect toast, chewy not hard or dry, feta, delish. Brussels sprouts, falafel, nice sauces, baby spinach surprises under the sauce dishes. Compliments to the chef.

Happy Hour was smooth and good. We ordered dinner...sandwiches. serve hot. A bit of a wait for dessert BUT it was worth the wait. Great experience here and we will return.

I had a great time eating at this restaurant! It is a lively place that has a good location and setup for larger events if wanted. Food was great and the drinks were beyond incredible and creative. Will be back!

I would say the food is average but the Bloody Mary was tasty! And the staff/service was really, really good. Ive been here twice now and had the same experience both times. Go for the atmosphere, not the food :)

Good food, great drinks and phenomenal staff.Stopped in for dinner after a wedding rehearsal, our servers were Misha and Robin and they were both lovely and helped create a memorable experience for us.

Update: the manager was very nice and apologetic. Will come back again with the gift card he gave us.Came in on a night that wasn’t the least bit busy and it took forever to get our food. When I asked the waiter what the deal was with our food, he was rude and said that they had just served the table before is even though it was 20 minutes ago. Also, he forgot my daughter’s drink. I liked this place the first time but won’t be coming back.

Food and drinks are excellent. Great place for soccer fans. I only didnt like the way my Wife and me were treated by bartender I didnt catch his name. He was short and had no hair. He capt ignoring us the whole time. I had to ask 5-7 times every time we needed something at the end we asked 3 times for our bill and he never gave it to us. I had to ask someone else and they helped us immediately. 0 stars for bartender, Otherwise 5 stars for food.

They were able to accommodate 5 of us at the bar. Bartender and staff were friendly, prompt and helpful, full with selection of drinks.. Food came pretty fast, hot, and delicious. Nice little tucked away gem!

A gem in grand rapids! The food was good. I had the pork belly sliders, definitely worth it! Also the bartender Jeff is an amazing person! Ask him to make you drink. I had the smoked old fashioned and hands down, one of the best I have had!

0/5 stars. Walked in with two friends sober. Each order one shot and a beer to celebrate a birthday. 5 minutes later told we were cut off without an explanation or reason. We were pretty quiet and also in a loud bar where other groups were yelling. This inexperienced bartender who obviously doesn’t understand what a bar scene sounds like said we were “very drunk” which was completely untrue. Mediocre spot with laughable service. Be better.

The brunch here is so good. It was hard to choose what to order but I went with the monte Cristo with a blackberry sauce. I also ordered one of their signature cocktails and it was amazing. I recommend coming here! We arrived shortly after they opened and we were able to be seated right away.

They don’t serve brunch on the weekdays unfortunately, but have come here for years and enjoy the vibes and delicious foods. Expect different unique tastes. Soccer bat often times playing bigger games and drinking from sun up to sun down.

Was excited for some vegan brunch options but the items were kind of bland? They had two options and the vegan version of the chorizo bowl was way better than the other vegan option however their potatoes were perfect! I’ll go back again, hopefully on non-brunch because I’ve heard the jackfruit burrito here is amazing by multiple people.

I liked this place better when it used to be Cambridge house. The food is good, but the vibe is lacking. When I think of a speakeasy, I think of art deco, jazz, and propaganda posters- not Calvin Klein scented bathrooms, sports on all the TVs, and hexagon acoustic tiles on the wall. The beautiful fireplace has been covered with a curtain, and there are storage boxes and extra chairs stored out in the dining area. With some attention to detail, this could be a great spot again.

I loved this bar, it is within walking distance from our hotel and the food was great. We had a large group which they were able to accommodate with the back half of the restaurant.Our server was on top of her game. Food came out fast drinks stayed full. The restaurant did a great job sending back-up when she needed it and kept everyone happy! Great place for an after meeting event or networking. Up beat environment.

We were in town for a shed builder expo and this place was on the walk between our hotel and the convention center. Food was mediocre at best but it was not expensive. Drink menu was kind of limited as well. The service however, was great! We had some great conversation with the bartenders and who I think might have been the owner sitting at the bar working on his laptop. It was a really cool atmosphere so we would give the food another chance just because it has so much else going for it.

I come here over and over again for the Grilled Jackfruit Crunchwrap. Its one of my favorite dishes ever. The quality of the food is always amazing and Ive also always had good luck with the service here.

This a great place. Really good food, sit at the bar and talk with the bar tenders they are all friendly and so is the owner sitting at the end of the bar. I was staying at a hotel around the corner and went there multiple times. Wish this was my home bar!

If I could rate higher, I would, lol. It wasnt very busy when we went in but it was nice and quiet, great atmosphere, our server Kat was such a pleasure and the food was 🤌! Great start to my first trip to Grand Rapids!

This picture does not justify the delicious food I ordered. The environment is slightly swanky and the staff are dressed as such. Formal or casual works here. The food menu is small but packed full of flavor. I highly recommend you check this hidden gem out!

Ive always loved this place and was so happy to be able to go in and get one of my favorite cocktails again! Social distancing and masks in place, so not the same experience as pre covid obviously, but the bartender and servers were awesome and made everything comfortable and delicious! oh and the menu is smaller than before but the food is still fantastic!

Amazing food and drinks. Ive had some really great service here and to be honest some really really terrible service here. More often than not the service is decent. I’ll always come back for the food and drinks though. I lovvvve the fresh vegetable soup. 😍🤤

A real gem in Grand Rapids. The food is outstanding, not "bar food" at all. Here is a brunch special called the Relegation. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent bar for brews and food! The location is very convenient for downtown as well. Easy parking on either side of the road.Breakfast food is outstanding, large portions and fair prices. Pictured is the B.E.A.S.T (Bacon, Eggs, Avacado, Spinach, Toastwhich is a great foundation if youre gonna catch some soccer/futbol as they are big about it and show most of the games.One of the best bloody marys Ive had as well!Definitely suggested for those who like to start the day with a good meal, and maybe a cocktail too!
