Really good food and quite a good variety. Our server Shannonnwws super friendly and efficient. They didnt even kick us out although they had officially closed and we were allowed to finish our drinks 🤘👍

This place is an absolute gem in the heart of Kingston. Check out the decor at night pretty impressive, the ambiance, the food, the drinks, the service. Special shout-out to Ms Davis, if my memory serves me correctly is the GM great job, to my waitress Ms Odecia, thanks for being patience with me while making my order, extremely professional, thanks.Would I recommend South Ave Grill, most definitely, you wont regret it.

Wait time for the food wasnt that long...my meal was delicious.

So it was my gfs birthday celebration. We made reservations for 6:30pm. Naturally persons were late we had 6 persons by 7pm (Been there waiting since 6pm). Asked to be seated as no one was interacting with us. The manager stated that she is unable to seat us although the table is ready and waiting because most of the persons were not present and this is "business". So we decided to sit and the manager came over to say we cant sitAt the same time 7 individuals from our party came in making it 13 from our 15 headcount. The table that was reserved only had 13 seats so we asked her to add an empty table beside us for the other two, we were told "the business mumbo jumbo". At this point Im exhausted it is now 7:40pm no food no drinks no light at our area. Our remaining party comes with an additional 1. We again asked for the table now this is the funny part because now the table although empty is unavailable but there is a free table in house. Im now puzzled the math aint matching. 8 minutes later instead of seating our party who is standing by the way, the manager decides to seat the individuals in the empty seat that should be reserved for our table although there is an empty seat that they were offering in house. Ive ate at a lot of restaurants and Ive never had such poor service. Ill probably try this place next year never. Disappointing you lost 16 persons because clearly you were unprepared and overbooked. Im in the service industry so I know this but instead of explaining you acted very unprofessional. Guys please visit The Coppers JA or even the CRU stay away. The service staff really needs training as they were clueless and kept directing us to the manager who clearly needs to resign at this point. While the atmosphere was good, the food food that its known for has really fallen off on taste. The place was fairly busy and waited Iverson 2 hours for the food. It was a party of 10 persons and the food was delivered may 20 yo 30 mins apart for some persons which resulted in some persons eating before others. The burger bread was dry and the meat burnt. Management really needs to up their game especially with the prices that they charge.

This place was absolutely amazing! Amazing staff and awesome food! The atmosphere is amazing.

Rita a d Odecia is boss.....My only concern is the reservation close off time...people work ..yea...and the hassle of the traffic in Jamaica does not permit persons to go home and get ready in time for the 7pm close off. Just my 2 cents....but as usual the food was excellent 👌 😋

The food is always great! We had barbeque ribs, french fries, coconut curried chicken, potato wedges...hmmm... Every bite was delicious. The ambiance was warm and conducive to great conversation. If you havent been there yet, youre definitely missing out.

The food is really really good here! The time between ordering and getting the food is really short, so thats a serious plus for me. The service, however, wasnt that good. The person who greeted us was really good. She made us feel welcomed. However, the server made us feel like we were a bother to her. She had a serious attitude problem. She just walked up to the table and said "say your order." I mean, thats not so bad, but her whole body language indicated that we were a bother to her which turned us off. Then she asked us to leave a tip if we felt like. That was another turn off. But overall, it was an okay experience.

Reception was poor. Surprisingly the waitress was pleasant and attentive. Our group felt like we were a bother to the reception person. She should be in the back! The food was average not worth the degrading treatment of the reception person.

Nice chill spot with a beautiful outdoor area. Filling portion size with a wide variety to choose from. They take walk ins as well as reservations, as it tends to get busy.

This is my favorite place to eat out. The food never disappoints and the portion size is good. You do have to wait a while especially on weekends but its worth the wait.

Went there with colleges from work and the experience was very good. Food portions are more than i expected so that was a plus for me. From appetizers to entrees and even desserts were tasty and well presented.

Outside dining only and can get noisy in the evening but if you are lucky to have decent breeze then its a good al fresco option. Prices are a bit on the high side for this type of locale UT there are not many options in this area.

This has to be my absolute worse experience with this restaurant.I have been going from the days it was called by a different name G…. My wife (a foreignertook me there for my birthday today (13 Augustwe both ordered kebabs.THEY WERE POSITIVELY AWFULIt was cooked and set down waiting for unsuspecting customers like us, waiting to be doused in a concoction with liquid smoke in an effort to make the dish palatable. They were cold and I would have been better off eating cardboard.The soup - good (red peas with beef & pigs tail.Onion rings - freshly cooked & tastySeasoned wedges - PLEASE!!!The cook might want to go back to school to be a chef.An awful experience especially for my birthday.I tried calling but both numbers were not answered

Visited during the lunch hour period so our order didnt take as long as if it wouldve had they been busy.Had the red peas soup as the appetizer and it was soooooooo good!Always had the pasta but this time I decided on trying another dish but the kebabs were so overdone. The beef and chicken breast pieces were so dry nothing could save them.Definitely ordering my favorite beef pasta next time.

Wasnt at all what we expected!!! Not gonna be bias the evening started off pretty well with the appetizer, the buffalo wings were good because we were extremely hungry. Then we ordered the main Dish and we waited for so long that when we got the food it was no longer enjoyable. The baby back ribs were cold and trashy and the jalapeno pork tenderloin wasnt as fancy as the name sounds just bland... Wedges stated seasoned on the menu and they were basic. Idk try it though the ambiance is nice but the service we received wasnt all that great.

Waited more than an hour for a group function and no table was available. Customer service was poor too. It started raining and we were told that it was an outdoor restaurant so what did we expect as if we should have turned around and leave. Then she went on to further state that it will stay an outdoor restaurant they are not going to change the place.

Let’s start by saying South Avenue Grill has great food! It feeds well and most items on the menu demonstrates Jamaicans knack for great flavor. However, yesterday’s service was horrible. We were greeted with “we don’t have lamb, steak, ribs, whole fish…”after we attempted to give our initial order.” The excuse was based on supply chain issues, but we know from experience that “ntn nuh go so” because a prominent meat supplier down the road had all these things on that day. Second, our meals were placed haphazardly with entrees being served before appetizers and the delivery window for meals on the table were spread apart by greater than one hour. For example, I got my meal at around 8:55 and my wife got hers at around 10:00 PM. Upon delivery of my wife’s scotch bonnet salmon, the fish itself was rubbery from being in the warmer for too long. Luckily the flavor was still ok. We understood our server was a bit green but the manager only gave excuses with no real apology or provision of what should have happened to fix our experience. We believe the restaurant is severely short staffed and waiters should have multiple buss boys to serve water and drinks and pick up plates (our plates were not taken off the table for the 3.5 hours we were there). Furthermore the hostess should be checking to see that the production of the restaurant is going smoothly at every table. We ordered drinks and the bartender had our drinks ready but couldn’t call our waitress to pick them up…we ended up just going to the bar and picking them up ourselves even though the bartender told us not to. Directors of South Avenue Grill, the place needs help (why do you have so many things on the menu to cause a food stocking calamity in the first place?), soon your local market will die if this becomes your reputation. We love this establishment and hope you can fix this for future visitors. We aren’t sure we will be back.

I have been to many restaurants and hotels in Jamaica and This is #1 No Contender. If you want good food that will give you a good serving size this is the spot. The taste of the food is amazing, the atmosphere amazing its the best tbh.

Ordered a well done steak. Had to send it back, wasnt seasoned and cooked properly. It came back a bit burnt😡 tasteless and rubbery😕 ( still not cooked well done). The soup was perfect 👌

Beautiful atmosphere, consistently delicious food, photos don’t do it justice for the taste, drinks are also 5/5- only complaint is the time it takes to get the actual food even on a somewhat empty day.

Was crowded had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess was accommodating and pleasant. The ribs was well cooked tasted great, but was cold. Mudslide delicious. The waitress was also pleasant. They stop taking new customers at 9:30pm. Despite everything I return.

Usually my favourite restaurant but I was quite disappointed with the service at my most recent outing with friends. It was a full house on a Saturday evening so understandably there were no menus available when we got there (6:30 pm). However, the lady that seated us didnt even mention that no menus were available nor did we get any water. It wasnt until another server came to check on us, almost half an hour later, that we were notified. However, the new server was quite helpful and pleasant and the food was great as always. Hoping for a better experience for the next outing.

This was my very first visit to South Avenue. Ive always heard great things about this place and I was definitely disappointed.The waitresses are very pleasant.The place definitely needs alot of maintenance. Paints, art work, etc. .You definitely do not want to go during a rainy day because you will indeed get wet.The food wasnt bad but it wasnt great either. They were out of most items; mushrooms, white cranberry. They couldnt mix 3/4 of the drinks on their menu because of lack of ingredients and the drinks they could mix tasted like it was lacking somethingThe food was dull.

The experience here was great, I enjoyed every ounce of my meal. The waitress was very friendly and kept checking in on us to make sure we were ok. Will be back soon.

Not bad. Tasty. I had the pork. A little less volume than advertised. My wife had a filet. Very good. The veggies were done perfectly.

Chefs Kiss. Food taste amazing, polite staff, beautiful scenery and a clean facility. The prices are on the high side but it is worth it. Great location for parties and dinners. 😍

5 stars, 10/10, always going back. This is my favourite restaurant to dine. I celebrate all my milestone moments here and head there when I just need to chill or treat myself. If youre a Jamaican who feel for sumn nice every now and then, feel free to head to SAG. Theres something for everyone on the menu and if youre a pasta lover you wont be disappointed.PS. Ask for Rita if you dine in on weekends. Shes the best server youll ever meet!

The food was excellent. Had the blue cheese burger and the fish fingers. It was crowded though and the food took an hour + to arrive (luckily we werent in a rush). Call ahead to make reservations though because it gets busy.

Besides a bit of slow service, the food was good. Nice ambience and over a great vibe. A bit on the pricey side but comparable to Plantation smokehouse.

Firstly I want to talk about the parking. Very small parking lot but extra parking was provided across the road. Which was good and bad at the same time having to dealing with the oncoming traffic, the crazy drivers who believe that the road belongs to them only. Just saying be careful to those that has to park on the other side.While the ambience of the restaurant was lovely, the surrounding building took away from it being that they’re under construction but once inside you’ll forget all about what’s going on on the outside. Lovely place and very easy on the eyes.I had to wait a bit of time for my food but giving that the place was full and people was trying to get in, I understood that it could have been overwhelming for the people behind the scenes. The food was very well presented to me and my family and it tasted the way it looked. AMAZING!!!!It was a mouthful of flavors, the food was well with the wait.

I went here for a lunch date and I was really impressed. We got our meals within 15-20minutes from the time we sat down to place our order. I ordered the baby back ribs and when they say fall off the bone they meant it. I only needed a fork to eat it no knife was necessary. The ribs was a tad bit cold though but our waitress had no problem taking it back to reheat it. My bf got the shrimp Alfredo pasta which he also enjoyed. We ordered 1 cocktail each and they were very strong really really strong. Overall the service was good, the drinks were strong and the portion sizes were large. I definitely would recommend giving it a try.

The food is good here, ambiance is nice. Took my mom for her birthday and she was very pleased. Our salads didnt have sweet onions as indicated on the menu. Nevertheless it was good. We had steamed snapper to go and it also good. Our waitress was polite and attentive in the beginning but got overwhelmed and hardly paid us any mind towards to end.

The ambiance was good. This is my second time, and its just like I remembered it. The food was very good too. All Covid-19 protocols were properly observed, and our waitress was courteous and super helpful. Will definitely be back.

Dining out during the Covid-19 pandemic is never easy. We visited here at 4pm when the traffic would be low which we were satisfied with. Upon entering there is a hand sanitizer station that you can use to sanitize your hands, our temperatures were also check before being allowed to be seated, however through out the evening when it got a little busier that was no longer being done.The dining experience was great and the food is worth it. Our server was awesome and even realized she made an error on the bill after it was already settled......that was awesome. Overall the ambiance at that time of the afternoon was great especially since it is outside dining (reduce risk of catching Covid).

Excellent decor and ambience great food and great prices its a must visit restaurant in the upper Kingston area. I really enjoyed it and u can try the rum cake and ice cream dessert its totally delicious

Great food. My husband took us there for our final dinner in Jamaica. The food was great. They were out of some things on the menu and it was a bit of a wait for our meal, but it did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend the steamed fish 🌺

Customer service was sub par, they only had 1 waitress tending to over 8 tables. There was a 2 hour wait for our food and drinks. On the brighter side, the food was delicious. Everything ordered was tasty and good portion size. You will definitely have to take some home.

Great place for family, friends, business and small quiet occasions. All rounded. Not too loud. A little feel of seclusion in the busy town. Great menu and customer service.

Food was good, esp serving size was enough to even have some to take home. Real mashed potatoes, not always the case at other places, so thats a plus.Waitress, Rita was pleasant.Personal opinion, the price will be a little bit above other places that have similar menu, not a problem for me because i knew before hand. Ive been to this restaurant a few times and while the food is generally delicious sometimes the customer service is lacking. The last time I visited, the food was great and the waitress had the best attitude Ive ever come across in a restaurant. The ambiance is nice but as it gets darker it becomes more difficult to read due to the lighting provided mainly by candles if you take the outdoor seating option.
