South's Pub - Pub in Sionainn, Ireland
Very nice decor in this large pub. Friendly staff. They provide lunchtime food, but we were there only for a drink.
The staff here are so polite and welcoming. Very relaxing atmosphere and great fun on match days. A real stand out place for service. The food is exceptional and never changes. It always maintains a high standard from soup, wings etc to Salmon & steak/roast. Such a good choice of food. The Guinness is great.
Excellent premises beautiful food and service
Lovely Pub conveniently located in the centre of town. Very impressive outdoor seating area with helpful and friendly staff. Very friendly atmosphere and will be back to visit again.
THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY ITS A LOVELY PLACE TO VISIT HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT WILL BRING MY FAMILY BACK AGAIN WHEN THEY VISIT US
When we were recently visiting Limerick, I insisted on making a stop at South’s Pub where Frank McCourt had his FIRST pint! The service was fantastic and the bartender humoured my enthusiasm with stories from the McCourt days as well as the pubs interesting, rich history.I would highly recommend South’s Pub when visiting Limerick!PS: the church mentioned in Angela’s Ashes is across the road and worth a visit;-)
Enjoyable drink here after dinner in Pery Sq
Stunning pub and great atmosphere and food 👌
Lonely staff and lovely interior
A lovely atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.
Warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated with pleasant staff. Highly recommended
Amazing bar and staff.
horrible experience. I simply walked in with a group of people and they appeared not to be ready to provide us with a decent service.
Great food Great staff Brilliant Atmosphere for Limerick v Galway definitely be back for the Final
Just had a great evening in souths, top class
I love that they have non alcoholic beer on tap.
A nice chilled out spot just outside the city centre. Excellent staff, excellent pints and a relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing place with very kind stuff and the food was delicious 😋 highly recommended 👌
Friendly pub can be very busy but always a good pint
Great athmosphere, great drink, lovely crowd
Great beer, chatty staff
Fantastic bar ,but they ruined the snug and put a large table at the counter blocking access. Not impressed
Great food and a lovely place to socialise
Very good pub. Excellent pint of Guinness. The "half-pint" would be better presented if it was served in a stemmed glass. The top of the glass is narrowed and this results in a better head on the Guinness .
Great toasted sandwich, soup and Guinness. Lovely pub with friendly staff, would highly recommend.
Beautiful pub, great drink but be prepared to pay for the privilege... toasted sandwiches €6... a little bit over the top.
Carvery lunch lovely and location famous for Angelas Ashes, though now completely revamped,
Cosy atmosphere, very bright. Its a traditional pub with a touch of modernity. Good to go with the lads and have a pint. Friendly staff and a clean place. Food is lovely. Since I love cocktails I would say that there are not many options on the menu. Still worth a visit!
Absolutely fabulous food, very welcoming and friendly staff, will be back again with my whole family very soon.Thank you very much guys :-)
Lovely but €8 for glass of wine !! Cheaper in hotels in city as I got one for €6.95
Had a great night out .the food was excellent and the staff were friendly worth a visit
Stunning boozer. Like having a pint at Fortnum and Masons but great value and service!
Fantastic food and service, staff brilliant, definitely be goin back
Lovely historic public house. Souths pub is a part of limericks history. Lets start with the Guinness!! Beautiful is a word that comes 2 mind. The food is above average. But 1 down fall is some members of staff are really not friendly! Most of the staff are so helpful and friendly especially the girls working the floor! But definitely a bad apples staff wise. Would go to say some of the male staff are quite ignorant.
Lovely pub but the food is totally overpriced 6 prawns,3 slices of celery ,2 apple slices and a don of sauce for €15 that was the main course I asked because I thought they made a mistake talk about rip off Ireland its alive and well in Souths Bar in Limerick
Excellent ambience, friendly and swift service and a super menu, great pour of Guinness available
Really great good, surprised I didnt pop in for for before. Friendly staff, clean and a great place for carvery in Limerick city. Ill be back
Most beautiful pub I have ever visited 😍
The barman serving on Sunday evening was very cranky and rude. We ordered a pint of Guinness and a glass of cabernet sauvignon, he wasnt pleased, he said he didnt have that and gave me a shiraz. After my husband drank the pint we actually left and went down to James Breens and it was lovely. We have since heard that the same barman is known for his crankiness.
The famous pub where author Frank McCourt had his first drink at age 16. Its beautifully appointed inside and the patrons all know each other and were friendly to us foreigners.
Beautiful Pub. Character and French style decor. Lovely leather seats. Good selection of beers and gin.
Beautiful interior, former hangout of a depressing author (Angelas Ashesand they pour a FINE Guinness
Love this pub. Old style..high ceilings..long bar..lovely decor. Drinks are good too! Service great. Toilets clean.
My first time here and Wow from the front it looks like a small little bar. But when you walk inside its very big and a very homey feeling here. Friendly staff. Customers can really unwind here full of laughter. Warming staff and Atmosphere. Wide range of beers wines ciders and Ales. Would call again no problem. They do hot food and cold food very impressive too.
Great place to get the Frank McCourt vibe. Ask for the delicious celery soup.
A very nice traditional pub with real history (Frank McCourt, Angelas AshesA very nice pint and good food at reasonable prices, plus very friendly service. Well worth a visit if youre ever in Limerick.
Fabulous pub, where Frank McCourt had his first pint. Great staff, wonderful food at lunch time. Great place to watch a live match on TV.
Modern and contemporary with good Guinness. was in for Xmas eve and twas packed. bar guy was nice and made my friend a mocktail even when it wasnt on the menu.Nice job. Will visit again
Who ever designed the interior deserves a prize. It is my favourite place to have an excellent pint. The food is top class, good value, and one of the most important aspects of any establishment, the staff are chatty and friendly. Well worth a visit.
Souths is definitely one of my favourite bars in Limerick city. The perfect pub to visit if you just want to unwind after a busy day and enjoy a quite, relaxing drink. Myself and my parents love going here and always receive such a warm welcome from the staff. We enjoyed our first lunch here today and struggled leaving we were so stuffed ! the food was delicious and even though there was a full house the staff went above and beyond to look after us like they always do.
