Souq Pampanga - Filipino restaurant in Mexico, Philippines
They have an identical menu as Fabrika villas. Only here the staff are not as accommodating. Food is good but customer service can be improved.
Food : Superb especially the Laksa, Okoy and laingService: GoodAtmosphere: Appears rustic and nice on pics but looks antique, quite torn down and dirty in reality, but I guess it has its own charm and appeal
Swift service. Food is fantastic. Rustic Ambiance.
Loved the food. The place needs improvement with airconditioning/ventilation. Comfort rooms need some keeping as well.
Food were ok! We are vegetarians so when we asked to replace the meat with fried tofu they gladly obliged! One thing though, I dint like their okoy!
We went on a Saturday night at around 6 PM. We did make a reservation, but the place was not packed. Out of all the food we ordered, I liked the calamansi honey wings and the palitaw the most. The kare kare was a little too sweet and I noticed that they liked to use pork belly in a lot of their dishes. Not a bad thing tho.Their ripe mango shake tasted like they used mango puree instead of fresh mangoes, but it didnt taste bad.Would still consider going next time. The ambience is nice and the tables are huge. Good for a big group.

Authentic Kapampangan food. Would definitely endure the road trip from Manila to come back here. Tbh, my only complaint is ang init inside the restaurant. Wish they had ac.
The food is delicious. Especially the aligue rice. .But there was a persistent infestation of mosquitos and flies which can be quite annoying while dining. The ambience and design is beautiful.
For this visit, we ordered the best sellers:1. Crispy lechon/pork (???kare kare2. Salted Egg Tilapia3. Gising-gisingKare-kare was awesome. Salted egg tilapia is good but you can faintly just taste the salted egg. Gising-gising is properly cooked compared to most restaurants.Whats not in the picture is their palitaw which you should definitely order.Medyo malamok sa al fresco, so if lamukin ka better be in the airconditioned rooms.
Filipino food here is delicious!Their interior is rustic inspired design.Their customer services is really great cause when our baby can’t eat any food, they provided us our special request for a squash for our baby. Their mojito is also a classic. My bro has beer and paired it with salted egg chicken, ansarap, angcrunchy! I love dry rub chicken wings. Mabilis din serving ng food.
We had our luncg during our short trip in Pampanga. Place was spacious and elegant. Food was great but nothing really special.
Good food! Nice ambiance! The pasta marinara is perfect!
Love the sizzling tofu nice ambiance very local foods nice interior design
Location: Pretty awesome theme. It has the old Filipino housing vibes. Got air conditioned and non air conditioned seatings.Food Ordered:1. Bulalo Soup: Very delicious and the beef was so soft. Serves about 5 people. Highly recommended.2. Kare kare: A bit disappointed, the Kare Kare was too sweet… kinda lost the true taste of the dish. Not recommended.3. Garlic Chicken: Was really good. Comes with mixed veggies and gravy. Really good with garlic rice. Highly recommended.
SOUQ is in the top 10 restaurants to visit in Pampanga. And for good reason - very near the highway, ample parking, open air, interesting interior, comfortable seating, and most of all memorable food that youd like to come back to when youre in the area.Unforgettable for me were the malunggay pesto (didnt think malunggay would work as pesto dish and the pasta was al denteand okoy (super winner for presentation and taste!). The rest of our orders were just culinary delights! Its your usual favorite foods with elevated presentation and flavors.
This restaurant reminds me of our old house in Pampanga. Very rustic and deeply rooted to the ancestors. Food here is superb. Must try are Piniritong Adobo, Caldereta and Fresh Spring Roll.
Serving Filipino cuisine in a rustic artsy kind of setting, Souq is definitely not your usual Filipino restaurant. They do serve Kapampangan dishes but also serve some pasta and pizza with a local twist. Dining here is a treat as the restaurant interiors are a fusion of rustic and industrial design making patrons take plenty of photos. Youll need to make a reservation if you come here on a weekend as this place really sucks on weekends due to the long wait.
I highly recommend them! The food was great! You get value for your money. Its no wonder theyre in the top 10 restaurants recommended in Pampanga! Ill definitely go back whenever Ill be in the area.
Definitely recommend this place well comeback if get to visit Pampanga again 👍 Good food and ambiance. Try their best seller Kare-kare ❤️
I saw a tiktok post on Souq and that was the reason why I wanted to try and eat here.Pros:1. lots of parking space2. pet-friendly3. located inside a hotel (Hamanda)4. instagrammable5. yummy camote chipsCons:1. long waiting time. we arrived at around 2pm. we thought that since it was already past lunch, we would be able to eat immediately. sad to say, we were the third group to seated. upon seating, we were told that serving time will be around 45 mins to 1 hr. we decided to just stay since we already there for quite sometime.2. their food just tastes alright, nothing remarkable or outstanding. maybe due to the influx of customers, it affected the quality of food they serve. i guess they need to increase their staff to be able to keep up with their customers.3. some of the food (pizzain their menu were already not available, maybe theyve already ran out of ingredients since it was already past lunch time.
Will surely be back again. Food is really nice. Would recommend the kare kare!
Dining staff not attentive too busy doing their thing. Food came in super late we almost left the place. I followed up many times but staff cannot seem to handle stress very well. Food was average at best. Menu was not too creative.Don’t even try their toilets. You will get the shock of your life.
Ate here for lunch, food is excellent, but i only gave it only 2 stars, why because of their toilet see photo, you are a highly rated resto and your toilet lookLike this, worst than road side gas station toilets,no soap also in toilet, pls clean it up. Ample parking space. Large area can accomodate lots of guest, and also dont use plates with crack already it should be a no no when your serving food in a broken plate, you can see in the pic that there is already a chip on the plate, and can chip even more and you wont notice it that you have already eaten a small piece of glass. Price ₱₱₱₱
One thing Ill say, is that the reason we came here in the first place was because the outside looked so beautiful and aesthetic. And aesthetic, it truly was. The ambience and interior design is absolutely beautiful and its also open air.The food is delicious and cooked just right. Even the ampalaya in the pinakbet was cooked in a way that you can hardly taste the bitterness. It takes skills to do that, so kudos to the chefs who made our dish. Now as for other aspects of Souq, although we havent explored other the other places much, we also learned that Souq has a pool and has 6 rooms you can stay in.So if youre looking for a place that serves good food and has a good room to stay in for at least the night that ISNT a hotel? Come here to Souq.
Good service and food. The only thing is the ambience, the place is a little bit dark and outdated. Reserved a new room a week before but was given a different one. Kinda far from what we were expecting. Food was serve quickly and their salads and fire cracker belly is a must-try.
Lots of food choices! Their menu is actually a concoction of dishes from traditional Filipino, American, European and Asian cuisines! We got the sizzling sisig and laing. Kids got pesto pasta and fries! All of us loved what we got!Ample parking is available in front.
Ambiance 10/10Service 9/10Food 9/10Price 9/10Location 10/10This restaurant is really awesome. Instagramable and the food is authentic Kapangpangan. It’s a worth to vist and dine.
This place reminds me of rustic restaurants. Food is well prepared, and their appetizers are very filling ( I didnt get the chance to get photos). Try their Pizza Negra, and you wont be disappointed! Its unique fresh flavors give a different twist to your ordinary Italian pizza. We really enjoyed this! Book a reservation as they fill up quickly during lunch and dinner.
Souq is a great place to have elevated Filipino/Kapampangan dishes. We got to try a number of dishes, all of which were delicious in their own special way.Okoy — Done differently compared to others, and we loved it. These were fried strips of papaya and carrots molded into a patty, which was perfect with the vinegar it came with.Salted Egg Tilapia — Crispy and umami. The salted egg wasn’t what we were expecting, being much more subtle yet still wonderfully seasoned.Fried Pork Liempo in Sambal Sauce — At first we thought this was kare-kare because of the presentation, but it was anything but! The flavors of this were powerful and creamy, making it absolutely perfect with rice. This was my favourite among everything we had.Duck with Coconut Adobo Sauce — Though the duck was on the drier and more tough side, this was still a good dish with a distinct Filipino twist. The Coconut Adobo sauce could’ve had more flavor, but still a good dish nonetheless.Matua (Meat in Tomato Sauce— This was another crowd favorite. The meats were evidently pressure cooked to perfection. Even the mix of oils and tomato sauce were rendered very well, giving you a burst of deep salty and sweet flavors.Crab Rice — Beautifully enveloped in crab fat, this rice is sinful but just down right delicious. The one thing I wished that was done better in Souq was the upkeep and service. The restaurant is beautiful, but it isn’t being maintained well. Additionally, servers didn’t know what dishes were being served to us when we asked. Would’ve been great to have better service, but you can’t deny that the food is good.
The food is great but holding a star for their dessert selection.. there was only palitaw left and I dont consider that a dessert 😑.. there was a line getting in even after lunch hour but there was parking available.. the ambiance is good.. toilet is clean..
Ambiance 4/5. This restaurant has a colonial/industrial/derelict vibe.Chicharones 4/5. Tastes like chicharon but not that salty.Gising Gising 5/5. Best food we ordered.Fried Duck 4/5. Soft and flavorful. The sauce was great.Shrimp Lagat (I think?2/5. Bland. To be honest I did not understand the taste.Pork Sisig 4/5. Great flavor but pork was not chopped finely. Some are menudo sized.Value for money 4/5. Spent around 2.6k.
Delicious food and great ambiance. I love their version of palitaw (no photo though). Worth the long drive.
The food is excellent and the servings are ok for the price. We didnt wait long for the food to be served. Their staff are very polite. Very nice place for the fam to lunch out or dine out and the interior is different, great for photo ops.
The rustic ambiance and antique pieces make this restaurant a nice place to dine in with friends. The tables are well distanced and theres good ventilation. There are rooms available to stay in... the food is good and tasty.would definitely come back!
Beautiful place, sumptuous food. 2hr drive from Manila,a quick getaway from the worries of covid and the heavy traffic in manila. The place is easy to find. Just make sure to order more, because the food serving is small.
All food taste goodServings portion balanceAmbiance - authentic
🔺Super good food. Delicious. One of my favorite restaurant! 💯🔺Must try visit in Pampanga 💯🔺Reasonable price. Huge servings.🔺Sisig and okoy is legit. You should not miss it!🔺Place is bit ancient. They also have rooms where in you can stay.
Good location, affordable food. We got the mango salad and pasta - servings good for two. They seemed understaff as service took long and we had to crane our necks look for wait staff. Solo meals would take 45 minutes to prepare which is why we settled for salad and pasta - this was lunch time so they could have been more prepared.
The sizzling garlic chicken was too salty 🧂Whereas, the caldereta was a bit bland.Loved their pizza 🍕They have ample parking space 🚗 🚙
Fantastic place! Ambience is superb! Food was well prepared. We got the pizza negra, laksa and sizzling salmon. What suprised us was how affordable the prices were, as in super mura para sa sarap at quality ng food. Next time we will try the hotel, yes they have one within the property.
Good food. Good ambiance. Perfect for a romantic date!! They have a small hotel inside the resto, also a cute swimming pool at the back. There’s a lot going on in this place. Overall, I enjoyed stumbling upon here!
We went here on a Sunday evening and it was packed there was a big event but the employees are so nice they made a way to get us a table. There food is to die for the kare kare was so good and my favorite the crispy pata and bagyong rice. Everyone ate bagyong rice even if they asked for plain thats how much they liked it. Such a good restaurant definently recommendOver allFood 10/10Service 9/19Ambiance 7/10 mostly because it was to crowded
We went to this place with 6 people and one of us had difficulty sitting on toilet bowls without seats, there are no seats for their toilets and there is no wheelchair accessible entrance. The food is bland it doesnt have the delicious flavour kapampangan cuisine is known for, the meat and especially the fat of the Crispy Pata smells meaning it had been left ou for a while before being reheated, thw Kare Kare is bland you can barely taste the peanut butter, the Sizling Salmon is juat salmon hrilled umtill its dry and then they added sauce thats too salty then next with their garlic rice, the garlic is so obercooked its become bitter, the hokoy has too much sweet potato and theres only a single piece of shrimp inside. Now enough about the food lets tallk about service, they seated us rather quickly amd gave us menus afterwards ordering was also a breeze, after that however the service begin deteriorating, they offered us water but only served three of us cause the other three ordered cold water, which never came then we had to wait for at least 5 mimutes yes you heard correctly FIVE minutes, thwn we were given our plates with no sppons and forks after which we were served drinks then it was 10 minutes for the food when the food was served then and only then were we given our spoons and forks, slow very slow not to mention bad service.Lastly is the ambiance. The restaurant is dark its hard to read the menus in the darkness the music can barely be heard over the music from the establishment outside, its peaceful though however thats all it has.To wrap this up.Ambiance: 7/10Food: 5/10Service: 7/10
One of my favorite haunts in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga that combines excellent cuisine with exquisite interiors. My favorites include Asian recipes like spring rolls and spicy tom yum, and Kapampangan fusion like crispy liempo Kare Kare. For deserts I love the palitaw filled with yema. Its a good place to hang out with family and friends.
The food (Kare Kareis good and the ambiance.Weve also tried their palitaw as a dessert with coffee and our family like it. It served in a small ball in 5 pieces. We ate late lunch (1 PMso there are fewer people. Not sure if dogs are allowed inside so we stayed outside and they gave us fans. Will surely go back again to try different food on their menu.
Great Food and Service! Pampanga is known for flavorful cooking and Souq fits the mold. Will come back! Crunchy Pork Kare Kare is a must!
How Instagramable is this place?! Then the food arrives and it gets even better? So wowed by this place, everything we ordered was awesome. Though the weakest was the Spring Rolls, pass on that. We did double orders of the Aligue Pasta it was that good. Who knew Kalabasa at Sitaw sa Gata with Krispy Crablets were awesome? Then end with the Palitaw dessert will literally be a flavor explosion in your mouth.Oh and dont forget to order their drinks at their bar, cheap and good! We had Mojitos, Long Island Iced Tea and a Margherita to round it all off! 🍸🥂We want to try their Karne next were all manner of meat is cooked however way you want it. When in San Fernando, be sure to make time to eat here, must not miss.
We went here with family to celebrate a special occasion. Wait time for serving was over 30 minutes but the food didnt disappoint. Seafood platter and bulalo are a must try. The place also has a lot of good spots to take photos.
Simple food done well as they describe it. But if you ask me, simple food done great will be more accurate. The quality of food is worth every penny (or peso). The Boneless Crispy Pork Leg was cooked to perfect crispyness. It was crisp until the last bite(about an hour after serving). You shouldd order this ahead since it takes 20 minutes to cook. We also ordered Tom Yum Fried Chicken, taste is good and perfectly fried. I just wished they served atchara with these. And to complete our "putok-batok" lunch, we went for Aligue Fried Rice, its good for two. Quite frankly we ordered too much for a party of two and paid php1500. The manager even gave us complimentary serving of their special palitaw, its a must-try.Having our fill of their tasty treats, we went around admiring the uniqueness of their interior.Antique chairs and tables of sorts masterfully crafted all for sale.I think the only downside is that the dining area is not evenly airconditioned. For me, I like sitting away from the A/C since I dont want my food getting cold.Restrooms are clean(if the boys room is clean, I assume the girls is much cleaner).Parking is easily accessible.*I went here at lunch time. I hope I can come back for dinner sometime.
