Soul Chicken in Luzern

This place was amazing! You could feast your eyes on the decorations that were everywhere. This creates a really nice atmosphere. The food was really great too!

I look forward to eating here every time I come to Luzern... Its a bit of a tradition. Its some of the best lightly fried chicken Ive had anywhere in the US or Europe. The garlic sauce is the perfect match on everything they make.

eccentric and nice kitschy decor but unfortunately even though the restaurant was empty, the manager insisted everyone HAD to order something, and no sharing besides the sharing menu… we left and they lost our business instead of making some…

Great little spot. The chicken and soul sauce were excellent...very crispy skin.. delicious. The waitress was delightful. Very attentive and warm. If I lived in Lucerne I would be a regular. Be sure to make reservations as the place is cosy.

It is a fried chicken with a lot of butter flavor. the price on the menu is not clear and then you end up paying more than you thought. An imitation bottle of Coca Cola costs five Francs, an exaggerated price. and half a chicken with bread 22 Francs when really the menu blurryly reads that it is 20 Francs. the girl who works there is very kind, but the man who I dont know if he is the owner of the restaurant, has a bad character. I would not go again.

Excellent food. The menu is limited to chicken, but if you LOVE fried chicken, you need to get to this place! The music is Chef’s playlist, and I loved it. The decor is funky, eclectic and totally retro!

The soul chicken was great! And the sauce they have was super tasty too!

Tasty but just chicken with bread, I ordered chicken legs(2 legs and half chicken (small each $22 , the sauce was good but a bit too heavy , the tasty one was the chicken legs the skin was crunchy and an a bit spicy, I enjoy eat outside but too many flies around.

The restaurant should be opened till 22:00. We arrived here at 21:00 and we were told it is closed because the owner is too tired and he had a long day. We totally understand this, but the way the message was sent is totally not the experience we hoped about.

The staff here are very rude. My partner walked in and asked to see a menu. The waitress gave it to her. Then another staff member ripped it out of her hand and told her to leave. From the interaction, the motive for this seemed to be based on race…

Don’t got there is you are not Swiss, horrible service by the old man. He decides on the spot when he opens and closes regardless of his opening hours. Very racist place .

Nice decoration and nice salat and chicken and French fry. I didnt really like that sauce but seems many people like. Its still possible to eat without sauce. Clean bathroom too. Recommended

The best chicken in a whole world. The atmosphere is unique, food is tasty and the staff is always friendly. We offen come with our friends and i dont know anybody who did not enjoyed the chicken. We live in Zurich and sometimes we would ride an hour just for the chicken.

The chicken came really fast. It’s all real ingredients. Real food in general. A salad that is not from a bag and then sauce from a bottle. The chicken is seasoned and then fried, there’s not too much bread to it. The sort of food you would keep going to a friend’s house if their mother cooked it.

The food here is very tasty, definitely recommend the soul sauce, which goes superb with the chicken, fries, bread etc. basically everything 👍In particular, the staff are very kind and understanding. We actually had an issue with the delivery, which was due to the delivery partner from Uber Eats. Thankfully, the staff at the restaurant was very helpful and provided us with a very satisfying solution, even though it was not their fault. Many thanks!!! And wish you a happy holiday! We really enjoyed our travel in Lucerne because of Soul Chicken. ❤️ A strong recommend.

That. Secret. White. Sauce! Oh my God!!! Chicken was nicely fried, very juicy and crisp. The decor was beautiful... I felt like I was teleported back in time to someones grannys home, and Im just sitting in the living room eating freshly fried chicken. I guess its a combo of good oldies playing in the background, service and really good finger foods! Worth a visit in Lucerne!

One of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The sauce is absolutely bomb! I used to go to Pouleteburgh but after I found out this I dont need to go so far.^^ The place can seems to be kitsch to someone but I liked it.

This place had really really good fried chicken. The skin is thin, crunchy and has a simple yet tasty flavor to it. We had the chicken leg basket with an order of fries. Everything is made fresh to order so it’s torture to have to wait for your food to cool down a little when you get it. It’s so worth the wait because the food taste as good as it looks. Definitely recommend this place.

The best fried chicken & french fries in the town. The bread is warm, soft inside with crispy crust. The sauce for french fries and bread is the best. The decoration style is unique + good service. Recommended! 💕😄

Tourist trap - watch out! Caters to people who have a false idea of what true American Soul food actually is. Even the music and the decor do not represent accurately. Horribly expensive too. Paid almost 60 francs for a few chicken wings and a salad.

As a deep fried chicken lover. I have tried almost all restaurants served deep fried chicken in Luzern. And Soul Chicken so far has the the best taste for me.It’s a small well-decorated cozy restaurant with 2 waiters and the owner. I was surprised why people gave them such low credit.If I can say something for this restaurant. I will say “Minimum consumption” is quite common among the world. Maybe Soul Chicken can put a notification directly to inform people please do order something while sitting the this small restaurant.So next time there won’t have customers felt humiliated when they just want to sit in and not ordering and left a bad reference after.As to the service attitude. I went there alone and I got a table for 4 persons because it was available. I was served immediately. The owner came to my table and bend over and ask if I have decided what to order. No ones gave me a face for I just ordered one chicken wings without any side dishes. I’ll say it’s the same treat as I went eating in a restaurant in 5 stars hotel.As to the food portion. I usually finished a whole standard meal and I already felt quite full after the chicken wing I ordered today. I’ll say the portion is fair as to the price.Overall. I give this experience a 5 stars. I hope they get more fair reference from more objective opinions.

I was very disappointed with the service at this place. The waiter asked us to wait a few moments outside while some of the tables clear up and he would come get us when a table was available.Instead of letting us know that a table was available he seated two tables (with guests that came after usand we ended up without one.

Horrible horrible food and very expensive.Its a tourist trap.Very pricy deep fried chicken that was quite dry.Quirky environment which is quite interesting lots of memorabilia crammed in.They make you share your table with strangers which is quite ... weird, In fact a first for me.The chef is mad and abused us for having a gopro on the table but we let that pass in bemused amusement.Ultimately if you want to feel sick for a lot of money, this is the place for you.

Highly recommended restaurant in Luzern.The chicken is real juicy.1/2 chicken and set of chicken wings already filled up me and my wifes Hong Kong size stomach XD

Awesome service and food in an interesting venue. Owners brought us extra wine and hugged us upon departure. An amazing meal and great prices for Lucerne!

Adorable little diamond in the rough. The food was good and the service was excellent. I would say this is a “$$$” or higher. It’s about $20 for a half chicken meal with no sides or salad (other than bread). Even the salad is like $20. It was delicious though- no regrets.

I LOVE Soul Chicken! Food always tastes great and fresh. Nice taste of Americana in Switzerland. Place is a little tight, so youll either want to grab a reservation or arrive early to make sure you get a seat!

Overpriced . All dished served with a basket of bread. I do not eat that bread. No ice cubes for your soft-drink. Service was so-so. Not a great place. I will not return

I think its the best chicken Ive ever eaten!! The sauce ... holy moly! I was in love. Excellent service. Cute decoration. Amazing music. Even the bathroom was nice. The toilet paper was black, which I find amusing. If you’re in Lucern and like fried chicken COME HERE!

The BEST CHICKEN IVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE !!! do I need to say more? The place is also very cool decorated and I love the music! I came here with my wife, for our wedding anniversary (we LOVEEEEEE fried chickenand whenever we are back in Luzern, we will be back here 100%.

It was dry fried chicken with a loaf of bread... For twenty bucks. The wings were tasty, but the half chickens we ordered would have been downright bad if not for the side dish of melted butter and garlic (think the little cup of garlic butter that comes with Papa Johns Pizza).And for that sub par meal... 20 bucks for a half chicken!It wasnt a total flop, but it was far from as good as I had hoped it was going to be.

Great experience! Food was delicious, got the shared meal and spilt between two people was more than enough food. Garlic sauce with homemade bread was awesome, garden fresh salad and chicken was better than fried chicken in the US. Owner gave us a couple free drinks as well!

I use to go to this restaurant since 4 years and have always been treated like family. The owner is welcoming every guest warmly (up on how busy is the day, of courseand the food is glorious! You can proper taste what the owner means, when showing his fists tattoos, is saying that there everything is made with soul. The only improvement, even though it is probably difficult, would be to add more room, saying this I must admit that the close space, the soft lights and the wall decorations give the atmosphere the coziest feeling ever.Im definitely keeping going there to grab more sauce!

They have a very short menu, only 3 roasted chicken based dishes and a salad.But the places is really peculiar and welcoming, even if small.The food was really tasty and uncomplicated.The crew really friendly, they will make you feel at home.If youre less than 4, you may have to share the table with somebody ;-)

There are comfort food and there are COMFORT FOOD. Our souls were truly blessed by the piping fresh hot bread that started our meal. The garlic butter sauce was a great compliment to the starter and brings much respite on a cold rainy evening.We have the half chicken and chicken legs with a side of fries. The friendly owner and it quirky ambience makes this one of my more memorable eateries in Lucerne.

Cant fault the South American flavours here and the staff was friendly. Easily one of the best friend chicken Ive had. They appear to be a family business and loves the decoration which was quite different. Will definitely come back next time were in Luzern.

AmAzing sauce and the chicken are cook to just nice. The shop only have chicken dishes and salads but this make us come back for 2days. Worth to give it a try if u are here. Only a small restaurant so go early cause it will be full.

Such a strange find, Southern American soul food in beautiful Lucerne! A little pricy, but worth it for the decor alone. Make sure you try the butter sauce with garlic, and of course the chicken!!

One of the best chickens Ive ever tasted. The sauce was simply amazing, I only wish I could cook like that. The restaurant is not situated in a busy area and the place itself is pretty small. The decor is unique, though Im not much of a fan of the toilet decor. I ordered the chicken legs with fries and it came with 2 chicken legs, the portion was enough for a hungry girl. If I ever come back to Switzerland I will definitely come back to eat here again.

The most awesome chicken place ever! The chicken, the fries and the sauce were amazing! However the location is a bit unconventional, this is not a normal restaurant. Its a teeny tiny place, even smaller than a living room; its very crowded and sometimes theres just no room left for more guests (you might want to have a reservation). The menu only offers like three different variations of chicken, but theyre so much worth it! The staff is incredibly friendly. Definitely worth a visit: Recommend with both thumbs up!

Pregnant wife and I ate here twice in the two days we were in Lucerne. After 1.5 weeks of traveling through Italy we were pastad out. Lack of variety was seriously starting to take its toll. We saw a review on this place and decided to try it out. The owner seemed a little eccentric/rude and there was a bit of a language barrier, but my god was this chicken and garlic sauce amazing. Such a nice switch up from what we had been eating the past few weeks. And after we got past the language barrier with the owner he turned out to be a very nice man. Even gave my young 2 year a picture to color for him so he could out it on his wall.I would suggest this place to anyone coming through. It was great. Beats most places in so cal.
