Sørvágsvatn in Klaksvik

Use this coordinate to get to parking for the trail. 62°02’30.9″N 7°11’58.5″W and there’s maybe space for around 30 cars only. There’s a US$28 fee for the 1 hour hike to the top of the cliff where you’ll get the iconic view of the lake above the ocean. You’ll walk pass some streams and water so make sure you have a good reliable pair of shoes.

Around a 4 mile or 6.5 km hike. Takes an hour to walk out at a leisurely pace, but it can really take 20 minutes if you do a constant light jog. Theres not much elevation gain.Theres a 200 DKK per person fee and the entrance is manned starting at 8am.The lake is really nice to be at for the sunrise mist. Id recommend if you find a good day.

Espectacular excursión. Lástima de la entrada, de 200 Dkk, que es un abuso. Pero una vez pagadas, hay que reconocer que los paisajes son impresionantes. Desde el primer mirador de los acantilados, siguiendo al mirador de la cima de Trælanípan, desde donde se puede tomar la foto tipica del lago suspendido sobre el mar y acabando en la zona de la cascada, vas con la boca abierta todo el rato. Imperdible en la visita a las islas

As I was staying in Sandavagur/Midvagur I had a wander up to the lake and walked where I wanted. The views were already pretty impressive.The fact that the lake is on a cliff and at a higher elevation than the ocean is incredible to see in person and from what I understand the hike out to the cliffs is relatively easy with spectacular views, although local farmers are trying to charge for access.

Esse lugar é incrível. A natureza nos surpreende. Você não quer voltar de lá. Tome cuidado para não se aproximar muito dos cliffs. Há placas indicando perigo de desmoronamento.

200 Kronen/ 27€ pro Person für eine kleine Wanderung in der Natur zu verlangen ist eine bodenlose Frechheit! Ich empfehle wirklich niemandem dort hin zu gehen, auch wenn der von Bildern bekannte spektakuläre Ausblick verlockend ist, sollte man solche Wucherpreise nicht unterstützen!Schämt euch!!

Wonderful but they charge you for the trail. And it is even not finished. Dont go if the weather is not promising. We couldnt get to the waterfall as it startet to rain.

Impresionante ruta con vistas a los acantilados y el lago de aproximadamente unas 2h a un ritmo lento y sin dificultad, como pega el precio de unos 30€ por persona.Para llegar se puede tomar un autobús desde Tórshavn y bajar en Miðvágur

Faraway land....

This place is so cool. The fact that the lake is on a cliff and at a higher elevation than the ocean is incredible to see in person. The hike out to the cliffs is relatively easy and its worth it. The views are spectacular. If you walk around the lake past the waterfall you can see some really cool cliffs as well.

Randonnée d’1h niveau tres facile (chemin de terrepour arrivée à ce point de vue qui défi la gravité. Pour avoir cette vue se diriger en haut de la premiere falaise puis se retour er pour faire fasse au chemin. Attention à la falaise et aux fortes rafales de vent. Régalez-vous bien. Seule point négatif l’accès est payant…

This is by far the most amazing place on Earth. I cannot explain in words how beautiful this place is. The hike is an hour long one way, but totally worth it. Skip the guide, not really needed.

Stunning lake that appears to hang above the ocean or sink beneath it depending on the angle you view it from. Very wild place and not too many tourists.

The lake above the ocean is one thing, but the sunrise between the cliffs is on another level. The walk, maybe an hour tops is great, aside from the occasional stream that you have to jump. But the views are amazing and the hike up to the top of the cliffs is a breeze!

Amazing hike. My family loved the walk, the views and the squishy bogs as we travelled through. Several spectacular and breathtaking views as we walked around.

I guess many people would visit here to take the widely known lake-ocean view photo but realized that it demands real courageous and adventurous mind... i was too scared to go little bit down so this is what i got. However still, great!

A stunning place. I had a cold a perfectly clear day for the walk out to the waterfall along the lakeside, then back along the ridge to the town. Absolutely beautiful. I bottled the "stepping stones across the stream"; perhaps its more practical in summer with less water :). Care is obviously needed along the cliff tops as the wind can be unpredictable though the views along the coast in both directions are breathtaking. It took me about 4 hours to do the trip, though I did stop very, very often to admire the views and photograph them.
