Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino in Penonome

Truly a beautiful hotel, quite modern & chic with great food and service. I must make special mention of Jean Carlos who went above and beyond to direct me around the hotel and the general location & educate on some Panamanian culture. Well done Jean and the Sortis team!! 5 stars in my book and I will forever recommend!!!

The Sortis is a extraordinary hotel. The service is amazing , and the property and amenities are very well kept . The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure needs were always accommodated. The receptionist Ivan made everything great also!

I was supposed to stay for two nights with my bonvoy points and when I arrived, I was charged $60 plus points. Then, swiped my card for incidentals which was fine, but demanded 3 times via phone that I come back downstairs to pay a $13 dollar restaurant bill charged to my room. However, when I asked for an ice bucket - to getsome ice, I called three times over three hours to get an ice bucket sent to my room. I decided to check out early after one night and they returned my $60 and was told that I was incorrectly chat when I checked in. Long story to say ~ they need to tighten up the management and hospitality towards hotel guests. I moved to the Sheraton Grand Panama and it’s a class establishment.

Bought a day pass as wanted to watch a really big Liverpool game. They sort of had it on. Went off several times then one time it went off for 10 mins as the only person who knows how to work a remote control was on his break. Missed a goal. Last time trying here. Its always been worse than a joke.

Facilities are clean, and modern. Customer service could use improvement.Bonvoy Titanium member means nothing here. No perks for loyalty. Breakfast $10.Hotel restaurant La Brasserie is terrible service.Better to stay at The Hilton.

Pretty decent SPA, casino is fun, close to lost of restaurants. The in house restaurants are pretty good aswell and quite affordable

Too bad the Italian restaurant is closed now. I loved the Antiguo Bacaro...it was such a good time but maybe I will be back to see what else is in there, I love to find new places but I hate to have to find new places lol

Hotel stay was actually very good. The staff, the location, the restaurants inside the hotel were very good and convenient. The reason for my 3-star rating is because the entire hotel smelled like mold. My room, the lobby, the hallway. It got into my clothes Im back in the states now and had to wash the smell out of my clothes.

The Sortis is genuinely a fantastic hotel. The service is impeccable, and the property and amenities are well kept. The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure ALL needs were met during my stay. Also, Ivan at the concierge desk provided 5-star service. As a former hospitality worker, I can tell this property prides itself on offering excellent service and ensuring guests enjoy their stay. Thank you, Sortis, for my first unique Panama City, PA experience. I will be back!

Hidden gem of a 4 star hotel with amazing views. In the business district, 10 minute taxi/Uber ride to all of the tourist attractions on the water. You more than make up for any taxi costs by the price of the hotel and meals. Though you could spend your entire vacation in the hotel going to the casino and the spa and the rooftop pool and eating at the seven restaurants. Concierge Ivan and Montserrat are like hiring professional assistants to arrange meals, trips, shopping.

This hotel is now my go-to hotel when I visit Panama. The staff is excellent, and the vibe is fantastic. Jesus and Shaquille are two of the staff that works at the front desk and made my check-in an excellent experience and thanked me for being a loyal Marriott member. And I had the pleasure of being served on different occasions by Deysi and Genova. You have different restaurants to choose from. A perfect rooftop pool. A place to get your work out in, and I wish I would have taken advantage of the spa. You can go right to the casino through the hotel, and they even have a restaurant that is open 24 hours to serve you.

First time staying in Panama City on business. The Sortis is a great place to stay with everything you need. The rooms are clean, well appointed, and spacious.They have a 24/7 restaurant, La Brasserie, that provides the daily breakfast. The breakfast is a traditional European style, with many options for all tastes. I had 2 different servers that took care of me throughout my stay, Yessybell and Juana. They are both amazing at their positions, greeting me by name, and making sure I was well taken care of.The hotel has plenty of other dining options nearby as well so I would say it’s well located.

Very nice hotel, good location, the beds are very comfortable, spa and Gym are super good and spacious, and pool is so beautiful, breakfast is good and service at breakfast really nice from the team Juana and Jessybell

Absolutely terrible experience. No hot water, key never worked, they let non-hotel guest families have birthday parties at the pool which was filled with screaming children (just incredible this is allowed). On top of all this, I left my Bose AirPods at hotel, I called 7X to get them back ($5 per minute, on hold for close to 20minsand they said they didnt have them. Finally spoke to a manager who I told to go check in the room again since I knew they were on the bed side table in a very identifiable case and he finally admitted that they had them but said it would cost 100s of dollars to ship them to me and they refused. $100s to ship a case the size of a cigarette pack? The manager then disappeared and didnt reply to any emails. I guess they think its ok to keep my brand new Bose AirPods. You would think after no hot water, key problems everyday, maid service forgetting to come 3 of 4 days they would attempt to improve the experience by sending my AirPods which during the first 6 calls they claimed they did not even have. This is not Marriott standards and worst hotel experience I have ever had. There was absolutely zero consideration or effort made to reach out to me. I am disgusted by the way I was treated and recommend that NOBODY stay at this hotel and that Marriott take the appropriate measures.

Never again!!!I stayed for 4 nights, everything seemed very good, room service and very nice people, however the menu is not very attractive, but I could survive since it was my birthday and I wanted to have fun, until one day I left the room and left my purse as I was going on a jungle tour, I was robbed of $600 dollars. I said I would call the police and investigation but its been a month and nothing has changed! looks like a gang! If youre ready to be ripped off stay there and its a great place! sad

I’m giving this hotel 4 stars only because the hot tub wasn’t hot at all. The custom service on the other hand was absolutely amazing I give them 5 stars for sure! Kelly is on of the bartenders at the bar right next to the pool. She was absolutely amazing! Very attentive and made sure my friends and I felt right at home. Kelly is the epitome of customer service. She really made our stay here as best as it could’ve been! I’ll be back soon!

Checking in was challenging as well as parking. The hotel has many options that I wasnt aware of. My check lady only informed me that I have a view of the city and I have 1 King Size bed on the 16th floor. It was a double bed, which was right off the elevator bank so I did like that. Also the outlets in the room didnt work or at least two of them that I have tried. I thought my laptop was broken because on the same wall outlet my Apple watch was being charge, but my laptop loss power. It was plugged into the same wall outlet as the charger. I thought something was wrong with my laptop, but turns out after plugging the laptop into the one that the charger was in, it was the outlet. Also, the parking is 10 dollars a night. If you dont check in with valet, it can be up to $80 dollars overnight. After checking itn with the valet he updated my ticket and I went to take the car out after 15 minutes because we were waiting for additional individual from our party to come down. In taking the car out, the gate was in Spanish which indicated to please pay. The intercom didnt work and I had to backup down a steep ram which any on coming cars could come. I backed out for about 70 feet down a steep ramp and then got out the car, went up to the valet desk and spoke with the individual at the desk. After complaining that the ticket didnt work, he said that you need to exit within 10 minutes after paying. I politely said thank for that and that would have been nice to know in advance since it isnt posted anywhere. Other than that the front desk staff was great, the casino restaurant was great. The pool bar staff could be a little more attentive to the guess in the area, but they were just o.k. and the 24/7 restaurant was great.

The rooftop at this hotel is amazing! Kelly the bartender is a great mixologist as well as friend! She gave us great recommendations for where to go and things to do! This is the place to be with an amazing view!

The people make this place. Anthony Gibbs and his coeworkers at the LaBrasserie are so well trained. These are the type of people I would hire to work in my business. Everyone is so helpfuland accommodating. Being a Lifetime Titanium Elite customer I have seen lots in the service industry. This place ranks up at the top as far as service goes. Keep up the good work you are setting a new trend in service. Many thanks!

Our visit at the Sortis was outstanding. Their customer was of the highest quality and deserves the best reviews! Jason, Aslhy, and the pool staff were super host. The bar staff at the pool always greeted me and made me feel like family. The security team was outstanding. My friends and I were giving presidential treatment and was treated well.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Awful service, the hotel was pretty much empty for a reason. The service is probably the worst I have experienced, due to the fact that they don’t have any guests they charge for everything. There is a $35 charge to sit in a sauna!!! They will try to charge you for any little service it’s disrespectful. There was also lots of noise due to some construction on some floors and the A/C doesn’t work correctly my room didn’t even cool. Not sure how this hotel is considered even a 1 Star, horrible

Really enjoyed the Sortis. Ive stayed in the W hotel and many of the other Marriott properties. Sortis is one of my favorites for the central location, the numerous restaurants in the first floor including a 24/7 restaurant called la Brasserie. The breakfast is excellent. The pool area has a great vibe with music, lounge areas, and lengthy pool to do some exercise. The rooms were spacious and I was able to get a deal of $99 per night and upgraded to the suite which was the best value Ive found in Panama. Overall a great experience!! Recommended
