Casual neighbourhood bistro crafting contemporary British small plates from local, seasonal produce.
Really delicious and good value for money. Nice Intimate setting. Staff was friendly and attentive.
A delightful neighbourhood Italian with a cosy atmosphere. This was a great spot for afternoon lunch. 3 antipasti and 3 pastas were the perfect amount for two hungry people.Out of the antipasti, the pick for us was the buratta with beetroot and candied walnuts, followed closely by the aubergine parmigiana .For pasta, it was tough to call a favourite but the gnocchi with leek and onion was packed full of flavour. Will definitely be back 🥇
The food was pretty average, and I was not enthusiastic about the menu, it was a bit plain
The service is amazing, staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is limited but every dish is done well and a lot of thought has gone into each offering. Prices are reasonable and the decor is sophisticated whilst not overbearing. A lovely offbeat gem, will definitely be visiting again soon.
Great restaurant, off the beaten track. Candlelit, mismatched crockery and lovely atmosphere, food was incredible to. Burrata and tiramisu was excellent
Lovely setting with an open kitchen. Quality cooking although not sure about the harmony of my dishes. Isabelle (the waitresswas so nice! Will definitely be coming back to sample more of the menu!
Outstanding restaurant - Italian cuisine at its best.Short Italian-style menu (cicchetti, primi, secondiwith interesting twists blending classic and contemporary. I particularly enjoyed (essentially everything I hadthe beef tartare, octopus & squid ink arancini, and then BBQ monkfish for mains was cooked to perfection - melt in the mouth. The tomatoes in the tomato salad were as fresh and flavoursome as you get. Focaccia yummy too. As was the white wine.Buzzy atmosphere in a low-lit room with an open kitchen & bar. Great vibe. Service was attentive and food came out at the right times.Faultless experience. Highly recommend!
Sorella has always been a favourite local spot, but very disappointing experience last night, which was supposed to be a bit of a celebration. We arrived early, first sitting at 6, but were refused a choice of table and we were stuck in a dark corner. The very unbusy waiting staff informed us that all our choices would be delivered to the table at once, appetisers and antipasti which was all we planned to order. Menus plopped down on the table caught fire on a little tea light. the waiting staff mainly were chatting among themselves unbothered about offering hospitality. And it is looking shabby. AND not great value for money.
Amazing. Intimate setting and truly delicious food with attentive staff. We loved the truffle arincini and the white chocolate tiramisu. Highly recommended!
Lovely dinner at Sorella. Been here before and the food is always delicious, service is ok, just bit chaotic and disorganised .The menu is small but we’ll thought to please everyone. Food came out fast. My only negative was that it was very hot in the restaurant and maybe they should have turn on the two massive AC units on the ceiling instead of having the front door open and a fan. Also the acoustic is not the best and sitting in the back of the restaurant is impossible to have a conversation.
So good but ridiculously hot in there….We got the Arranchini, burrata (came with peaches, roasted peppers, pine nuts and oil and is the best I’ve had!!!and focacciaMains the papadelle Ragu and mushroom gnocchi - small but cos primo not secondi (couldn’t have eat more thoughand a tomato salad (£5 for that was silly amount)Drinks great and staff lovely but yeh, we didn’t stay long cos of how hot it was in yente
Great food!! Loved everything we ordered. Highly recommended local restaurant
Really good food and even nicer service! The pasta and the truffle croquettes are just the best
Everything is great about this restaurant. The truffle balls, all four kinds of primi pasta and tiramisu are a must order. The staff is great and very attentive. The ambience is cozy and feels like you’re in a little dining room. This is my second time coming and it’s going on my forever list.
Lovely atmosphere. Delicious Italian food, fresh pasta. Great service. Would go back. Good for dates/ groups. Reasonable prices.
Amazing food and familiar atmosphere.Service is fast and attentive and ingredients are fresh and of quality. Desserts needs a bit of a push they can be a bit disappointing compared to the rest .Only real issue is the temperature. Guys you have a great place but it’s hot as hell in there and at times is really uncomfortable especially when eating.
We got vegetarian options: the arancini, aubergine parmigiana and zucchini pasta - and everything was delicious! The meals are a bit small, but it was definitely worth it.
I have been to Sorella a couple of times and it has been fantastic. However, I went last Saturday and they now only have one vegetarian main which was incredibly minty. The aubergine parmigiana was also served cold. Not sure I’d return!
Finally a Brit restaurant that knows how to elevate Italian cuisine! The food and drinks were so delicate and rich in flavour; extremely tasty!I definitely recommend it!I guess the only constructive feedback would be to improve the interiors and the cleanliness, considering the £££.
I dont ever post reviews, but I had the most wonderful lunch at Sorella. The food is fantastic, good quality of ingredients and depth of flavour. The waiting staff were very attentive and welcoming.Would recommend for a special occasion meal out
The food is delicious! The staff is really nice and the overall experience was very good.I did not like the random charity charge they add on your bill whiteout saying why is there or what is for. Also, the tiramisu is not why you want to go here. It literally had pieces of sugar on top. No, thanks.
Sort of average experience this evening. Food delivery a little too fast despite a request for a gap between courses, the pork secondi dish being very fatty (would generally like good marbling and fat content for flavour, but a third of the chop was basically fatand lastly overcharged on two items on the bill that was rectified with an apology that the menu had not been updated. Overall disappointed, so will not be hurrying back.
The service and food were good. However, we booked a specific table, well in advance, and without any prior notice they didnt honor the booking and put us on a table we didnt really want to sit at just because a party arrived that had one more guest than us
Delicious food and great service! Very nice wine too. Always have a great meal here and it’s the first choice whenever my parents visit.
Mixed experience. The quality of the food was generally very good and service was fine. However, one of the dishes (aubergine parmigianaarrived cold in the middle. Staff were notified but it was not removed from the bill. The restaurant itself was very humid and poorly ventilated. There was only one vegetarian main course option on the menu (and no vegan options).
Lovely restaurant, beautiful space and really great service. I had my birthday dinner here – it is pricey but worth splashing out for an occasion – and everything was flawless. Just one tiny thing, and I mean tiny: the dining chairs are super uncomfortable. I feel bad even mentioning it. Real gem of a place otherwise.
What’s that? Is it the warm, welcoming smile of the staff? Or maybe it’s the rustic yet classy fixtures and aesthetic? Or hell maybe it’s just how DELICIOUS everything tastes and smells here? You’ll mistake it for a hidden away Italian bistro in the countryside but it’s right there in Clapham! Everything is great, you could blind pick from the menu and you’d have a great meal.Just go for god’s sake.
Lovely food, great staff and cozy place. Portion sizes are on the smaller size to be honest. The steak tartare and the Parppadelle Ragu made it to the top of my list.
There was a lot of hype about this place so we were very excited to go. The portion sizes are tiny and the food wasn’t extraordinary for the price. I was looking forward to the truffle pasta and it was just ok. The food is on the salty side, and I’ve had much better plain simple dishes in Italy for much cheaper.
Classy yet rustic italian food in a warm welcoming setting. We enjoyed bitter crisp negronis with housemade vermouth to start. Appetizers are interesting and delicious and you may not want to share. For example, the cured trout, bergamot & radicchio was a riot of colour and sharp clean flavours.Do try the Hibachi bbq cabbage with anchovy and peccorino cheese as a side, unusual but so tasty. Pastas are first rate, we had the Tagliatelle with wild mushrooms which was substantial and meaty tasting. The staff were clearly busy as the restaurant was full but they were friendly, attentive and always smiling and we never felt forgotten or being rushed. Thank you for the high chair and for welcoming our 17 month old son who loved the food and the place. One tip, go early on a Saturday night as it gets packed.Ive lived near Clapham for 15 years and never knew this street or restaurant, but I do now and will certainly be back.
Good ambience, good service, but tables too close to each other - that’s really using every inch of the space to get the money out of the extra tables and for what. Maybe some dishes are good, but portions are very small and octopus gniocchi had 5 of a millimetre thick slices of octopus and 6-7 gnocchi for £15 The Most expensive part of the dish was octopus where was it Im asking? 🤷🏼♀️ That’s a joke! Nobody will serve like this in Italy.
Amazing Italian food in a back street in Clapham. The food is the right size for portions and just delicious. I had the seaweed gnocchi and the steak tartare. Given it’s new Michelin star the food is affordable with the above plus a cocktail and sharing bread it was £37 which is reasonable for a good night out. Will be back before leaving Clapham.
A gorgeous little restaurant off the beaten track. Gorgeous Italian food and in a wonderful setting. The back of the restaurant has a high ceiling and glass roof meaning there is a lovely light. The decor is a combination of 50s styling and urban chic, it’s just lovely!! Food is light and tasty, but could be seasoned a little more. Drinks were lovely also. I found the prices high for a restaurant in Clapham but the service was great and the food was brill.
Amazing Italian (Tuscanrestaurant! We loved the staff, the food, the stone-made dishes and the selection of wines! Its a little bit noisy but thats because everyone there is so happy!
One of my favourite restaurants that is now doing at home kits as well, really recommend picking up if you’re in the area!
Very Covid safe when we went. Very friendly team explaining the menu. Fantastic tasting food. A real treat of a place to go!
One of my favourite restaurants in London. The staff are amazing, the drink is top notch and the food is incredible.Perfect for friends and date nights.
Such a great tasting experience! To get over the sadness that was the news that The Dairy has closed, we went to Sorella for the set menu.As a low carb eater, I can definitely say that all the sinning was worth it. The arancini has converted me to a risotto lover, so creamy in its truffle goodness. The focaccia, far more generous a serving than the photo I have displayed, was a good balance of salty and freshness. The aubergine and sorbet were the highlights for me. The best I’ve had!
I am a fan.I went to celebrate an occasion and it was the perfect spot. It was not too stuffy or uptight nor was it too casual.I really enjoyed the food, the ingredients and menu was selected with care, the dishes were not the run of the mill Italian restaurant items.Staff were cool, helpful and friendly.
Modern, rather than traditional, Italian with interesting wine list. Fresh ingredients with good contrasts of flavours and textures. Superb duck primi, monkfish and venison mains went down well. Somewhat steamy (perhaps due to open plan kitchen). Malted barley affogato and freshly made ricotta were probably the highlights. Service a bit slow, as we were tucked out of sight, bit a great place for a relaxed, leisurely lunch.
A great make over for Robin Gills former The Manor restaurant. Italian dishes to be enjoyed as a meal or just to go with a glass of wine. Great value for money along with beautifully balanced textures and flavours
Great lunch. My friend and I did the chefs menu. She’s coeliac and we were pleased that they could do almost everything gluten-free for her (incl gluten-free pasta). Everything was delicious and we rolled out a few hours later very full but only about £50 lighter. Great value for money.
A lovely relaxed non-traditional Italian and a great addition to Clapham. Well worth a visit. The food was exceptional with produce being fresh and homemade.Basically, everything is to share. The homemade pasta was lovely and we decided to share all four dishes.Portion sizes are not large and pricing reflects that. The chocolate mousse to finish was delightful!
The Manor in Clapham should be your food destination every Saturday night! It gets you in a right mood in no time! Simply wonderful food, beautifully served, see the picture. I would like to add Mary is a GEM and the Manor is very lucky to have her. Shes always there to advise or crack a joke. During the holiday season you get many arrogant and extremely rude customers. Most of the arguments are alcohol fuelled and last night we had a chance to encounter one of these moments. Mary acted professionally with a stoic face and the guy left ashamed threatening to leave a bad "RAPORT"!? Perhaps he should get around more often and learn some manners to start with! Mary and Armando, thank you for an amazing experience(and the shots of Patron)! Even though we live far away ma and Anna will find the time to make our way to see you again very soon! Stay warm and happy this Christmas! XXX
Quality meal, pleasant service, great wine. Really enjoyed our visit. Tasting menu good value for amount and quality of cuisine.
If you want flavour that youve never experienced before, then this is the place to go. Super creative and interesting combinations of textures and flavours paired with beautiful wine and clearly thought out cocktails. The staff are always so attentive and welcoming. This is my go to for a treat. I could spend hours sat in here eating. And even the brunch was unreal!
Very nice food, amazing service! In the manor you can get a hint of what a posh-classy restaurant offers at a fair price. Original recipes with weird combinations will give give you new flavours (for good and for bad ;)
This place is truly a gem! Very relaxed and gives off a bistro type feel but the food that comes from the kitchen is one of a kind. Tried their taster menu and it was a very good choice. I am.not a chocolate person and to make up for it.. I got to try 3 different ice creams. Yep! The staff here are truly exceptional..you have to try the cheese.. like awesome! Plus I got given some sourdough rye bread to try at home... yes.. The manor is truly special!
We had the tasting menu which was very good. Ive tried a lot of things but the BBQd chicken hearts were new to me, and very good. Dying to go back.
The visit to the manor is a bit like a exciting new movie. It started off very well then a big drop and the ending left a unsatisfied taste.(Bins right in front of the restaurant doesnt help neither)Service: 3 1/2 starsPresentation: 3 starsAmbience: 4 starsPrice: 3 starsTaste: 2 starsThis is just my personal opinion and I would always recommend for everyone to try for themselves.
