Sophie's Restaurant, Bar & Terrace - Restaurant in Dublin, Ireland
Nice setting and lovely views from the terrace. Brunch menu is fine, good variety of options. Food is nice if not particularly special
Sophies has a great menu and cocktails. Lovely view and outside terrace. If youre in Dublin, definitely recommend popping in.
Not worth the hype, the staff are fabulous so friendly couldnt fault them, but the restaurant and food are awful it looks the part, but the tables are sticky, with tissue and food covering the floor, the cocktails are nice but very small and I had to send one back as it had a hair in the glass, the food was not seasoned at all,and we had to ask 3 times for salt and pepper for the table, all of the food was stone cold, I did ask for fresh chips because I didnt mind eating cold eggs and room temperature steak but the chips where awful, my pal ordered pizza which she enjoyed as they are made fresh but the rest of the food was not very pleasant.
1 star for the very delicious pizza and amazing view. 2nd star for the person who came to apologise to us for 50 min waiting on our 3 pizzas. Went with kids around 3 pm on Saturday , good to know that kitchen close at that time and they serve only pizza!
Definitely a great place for brunch due to its location and beautiful view over the city.Food is good, but we had to wait 45 minutes to see it. Besides the slow service, there is a beautiful atmosphere and I would recommend going.
Restaurant has great view and nice ambience, it is a little bit too dark . I have seen guests using phone camera light to read the menu .Service was very friendly and professional.Food looks lovely and tasty , great presentation. Unfortunately this is the only good thing about food . Very bland, no taste , below local average, great place for a drink but not for dinner. Cannot remember when I had worst food experience in a decent restaurant. Even desert taste like from cheap fast food.
I booked for breakfast but knew I’d be late so I moved the time to lunch - they were flexible to change it.The food was alright but the service was decent and the place was quite pretty for sure - a lot of light was coming in through the windows.I’d come back for the brunch/dinner but not the lunch!
Great views. Uncomfortable seating. Sirloin steak was ok, a bit overpriced and overrated, though. Mashed potatoes were fabulous. Good service from waiters.
We were there for a couple of drinks, i dont know if it was the sunset, the amazing cocktails, the comfortable armchairs, the good music but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the time. We ll back again, for sure
Went for Brunch on Saturday. Everything was perfect, from the reception to the service of the staff, including the food later on. The prices are good regarding quality and quantity. Sophie’s is a place I would recommend 100% for a special brunch or dinner :)
Ooo this place is so worth a visit! Roof top bar on one side and restaurant on the other. Cocktails from an extensive drinks menu at sunset were really enjoyable and breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend, staff were lovely and friendly and the place clean
Food was okay. Service fast at the beginning although they kind of forgot about us towards the end of the meal. Lovely views and rather pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was so funny and welcoming. Cocktails we very tasty too!
Went for dinner with friends here, place is buzzing! It has a nice ambience, not too quite but not too loud as well. It has nice views of the city, too!Food was great!! It’s a bit on the pricey side but consistent with a lot of similar food places in Dublin.Staff is friendly and great, too!Would come back, for sure.
Everything about this restaurant was great. The view and the food was so delicious. All the staff were so helpful. You can go there if you are looking for romantic dinner
Sophies is one of the most trending and sought after places to be in Dublin. With their amazing rooftop views and stylish decor they have it all.We arrived around 5ish as a walk-in (no reservationand even with the place empty it was a bit of a fuss to get a table. The kitchen isnt opened between 3 and 5.30 so only pizza available if you go at that time. The staff were amazing and accommodating with good knowledge of the menu. With the style and the prices of the place, I was a bit disappointed to see worn out and dirty menus plus the general cleanliness could have been better. The table on the balcony that we were sat at had cigarette butts all over which isnt great. On a lighter note we had the croquettes to start which were to die for and tha main courses were great too. The fillet was as tender as they come and the seafood pasta was great!Definitely one of the top 10 places in Dublin and should be on the "must visit" list for everyone!
Fantastic place . Second time here . We went for lunch here after civil ceremony with our witnesses . They gave us free bottle Prosecco as a toast and a dessert . Staff were just lovely and food was gorgeous. Looking forward to going back again soon .
We hold a team event at the Sophies with 20 people. Food was good, everyone enjoyed their dish.Staff told us we had to leave sharp and order asap to leave on time - we were not even seated... And we kept hearing this several times, and got pushed out in the end for being a few minutes late.It prevented us from ordering more drinks - sounds like the place maximise return on investment over customer experience... We wont be back as didnt feel valued or our poney appreciated.
We had a great stay at Sophies, very kind girl served us (shoutout to the lady with blue hair and the cat necklaceshe was very sweet with us. The Antipasti plate was fantastic and the "tapenade" absolutely delicious. Great pizza - felt like Italy to me.My boyfriend had gnocchi and liked them very much too.100% recommend!
Great restaurant, ambience and experience. Cozy and posy rooftop, whether is the inner or outer one. Perfect place for celebrations or to just bring your date or couple. Cocktails are awesome and service is great.
Awesome lunch here with beautiful views of Dublin! Ordered The sirloin steak with a side of Mac and cheese. Asked for medium rare and they grilled it to perfection. Also, ordered the Mad Ting for a cocktail. It was delicious. Will definitely dine here again!
We spent a lovely time there. Wonderful food and staff. We had a wedding dinner during the lockdown back in 2020.
Great place for an Irish breakfast! Views of downtown Dublin are unbeatable! Great service and would recommend to anyone traveling.
Beautiful views of the city! We had brunch and though it’s pricey, it’s worth it. The food was great.
We had 2 separate brunch here during our visit in Dublin as our hotel suits directly opposite The Dean. Sophies is on the top floor. Reservation is recommended if we wish to get a window table in the restaurant section, and walk in is accepted for the other side which is the rooftop area. Various types of food on offer, burger pizza and chicken Caesar salad etc. Service charge is not applied by the restaurant but we added 10% on the bill. Good thing to know that the wait staffs get them.
Food was really good. Staff extremely friendly, atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. Really enjoyed my time there. 5stars..
Great food! Service was a little slow, but they were slammed. Normally, I wouldnt care, but the air conditioning wasnt working and they placed us against the window with the setting sun, so we were sweating and ready to get out of there! ;From the street, it looks quite small, but its really spacious, so I think its great for larger groups and special occaisions. We will definitely visit again!!!
Loved the views and the pizza. Great cocktails too. Friendly, efficient, hard-working staff.
Came here with colleagues for lunch on a Friday. We sat outside on the rooftop.5 stars for environment especially in this area on a sunny afternoon and 3.5 stars for the Margherita pizza I ordered.Other food might be better but have to try before I can say anything else.It took about 30 minutes for us to have the food on the table. Glad it was Friday and no meetings scheduled around that time.
Had an amazing breakfast here, my friend got their poached eggs, and I got the French toast. It was definitely a bit of a walk from Temple Bar area but well worth it, especially for the view over Dublin.
The food was so delicious and the views of Dublin are stunning. We enjoyed a drink at the bar as we got there early and wanted to have a quick drink before we sat down. Our table was on the balcony and it was a lovely evening with great atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and helpful when asking for suggestions and with our requests.Brought my partner and friends here and we had a really nice evening with great food and great cocktails
Anniversary Dinner.Excellent service. Lovely views. Staff were brilliant and friendly. Definitely worth the price due to the quality of meal and drinks provided. Only issue is we were rushed out after just over an hour, and hadn’t even asked for the bill but it was brought over and we were asked to clear our table due to “it getting busy” despite our reservation, which was extremely disappointing as we ended up just going home early then.
Very delicious breakfast to kick off my first meal in Ireland. The white and black pudding were both surprisingly tasty and they really know how to make an amazing breakfast potato!
Beautiful view of Dublin, lunch brunch was excellent, very friendly atmosphere with plenty choices to choose from.
We made the reservation a few days in advance to sit outside, decided to go a little earlier to warm up at The Dean bar and then go up to the restaurant. when I went up I was amazed by the decor, the incredible view that the restaurant has, the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, the waitress was very attentive and polite when asking to change our table so we could dine inside enjoying the view. Authorial drinks are amazing starters and main dishes too. all the staff very nice. I highly recommend and plan to return many times.
If the food was as good as the decor, this place would be sensational. Fluorescent concentrated orange juice. Cheap watery bloody Mary’s and squeaky sausages. Better full Irish at Weatherspoons sadly. Great service. At least the Peroni was cold.
Came here with a couple of friends to drink. Beautiful rooftop bar with heating and comfortable seating. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Prices are high but the drinks were great. The vibe and atmosphere here was great. Definitely recommend if nearby.
Sophies came highly recommended. Was searching for a unique spot to celebrate a friends birthday with dinner and drinks and this was as it turned out a good choice. A key selling point when reading other reviews is the view from this Rooftop restaurant. We were there for a 9pm booking on St Patricks day and while the very large windows are lovely the view over Dublin was OK. Dublin isnt a high rise city so being on the 6th floor didnt add a whole lot to the experience. In fact the internal view was better with very tasteful and modern decor and the bar itself providing an attractive focal point to the space.Speaking of the bar, the cocktails were good. We ordered some that were not on the menu and for most of those we were accommodated. And the drinks themselves were tasty. In fact the Whiskey Sour deserves special mention, it was very well made.Moving on to the meal, being a vegetarian I was limited in my options. Having said that the "Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Mousse" was excellent. Rich flavours and good texture. Risotto done badly can often be mushy and unappealing, thankfully this was not the case here at all.For the main, I went for the Pearl Cous Cous with roasted veg, Coriander and Garlic. The only main course option that was vegetarian (not counting the pizzasand it too was sumptuous. Not as good as the risotto though, wish I could have that as a main course instead and the Cous Cous as the starter. The others in my group loved their prawn starters but were unimpressed with the seafood tagliatelle main. The service was excellent, couldnt fault it in any way.Overall it was an enjoyable experience though very much on the expensive side with the night setting us back €100 per head and that was without dessert and a couple of cocktails each. Given the limited vegetarian options, I dont see myself returning in a hurry, but if you havent been I would recommend that you do visit at least once.
Great spot in town for a meal with a view. I had the full Irish for breakfast, was surprised that the bacon was American style but very pleased with it. The sausages and black pudding were amazing.
The drinks were amazing specially the cocktails but thats it ..The presentation of the foods was very good but food wasnt delicious tho....Staff wasnt friendly .... I heard so much about Sophies but was a bit disappointed...If you are going for drinks then I will highly recommend it but not for food ...
Great views, although the food is not the best in the area. The potatoes were almost raw and they tried to add some flavour adding way too much onion to them.Great place for drinks, but the eggs are not worth it
Staff were friendly and provided great service. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Well-priced, nice ambience and overall lovely experience!
We were there today for brunch to celebrate my partner’s birthday. There were 11 of us. The food was great and the staff who served us was exceptionally skilled and very friendly. We weren’t able to get her name, but she did a very commendable job. Thank you.
Had a great time here. Went for brunch and the poached eggs did not disappoint. Certainly one of the best Ive had! It was a sunny day and so the terrace was gorgeous. French toast was nice but could have done with more cinnamon and caramelized banana was not caramelised. Mocktails were nice - we tried them all and Amour Francais was my favorite.
Good food and good service, the restaurant is very beautiful and the staff are all very friendly. It is rather expensive but its worth it for special occasions. We went for my partners Graduation and were all very happy.
Great experience for brunch, especially for Full Irish breakfast.Having a table outside can have a good view to spend time on Saturday morning.
Food was spectacular but the service could have been more attentive as there were several times we were left without drinks and were left waiting to order dessert despite it not being an overly busy time and other tables in our area were being attended to. Overall a good experience with the food and atmosphere but definitely would have had a more positive experience with more attention from the staff.
One of the best features about this place are the staff 👌So friendly and great service.Food was nice we sat in for a lunch menu I had a pizza because as you walk in the pizza oven is at the door and my taste buds were salivating when I saw one come fresh out the oven.Cocktails are also amazing
A bit of a disappointment towards the end as we felt rushed and not great service. At the beginning the service was great, really attentive and polite, towards the end as it got busier it just got quite bad. Took 20 mins to get the bill and pay.I would say the food is overpriced, we had a bottle of wine (tapwhich was nice. But just too expensive. Lovely views. We had a pizza each, starter to share and a bottle of wine €82!! The pizza toppings were also poor - hardly any on them. Pizza €16!Maybe just go for the views and a drink.
Was first time here on hen party. Loved the food and ambiance . Was very foggy and hazy outside could not properly enjoy the view .. but amazing yummy food. That salad was so divine
Worth the visit. Lovely to see the panoramic views with the sun setting. Food seems good. Only had a pizza as was obliged due to not being resident. Drinks were fab! They were very accommodating and gave us a great seat. I feel I need to say I dont tend to give five stars, others seem to easily, it just needs to be something VERY special for me to do this, would be giving four and a half for sure if I could
