Sonnental in Dübendorf

Great hotel 8 minutes away from Zurich by train, in Dubendorf.The breakfast is very nice. There are milk-free, vegan and non-gluten food. For my girlfriend with was amazing because had everything she needed with options.Its located 5 to 10 minutes walk from Dubendorf train station and there is a bus station right in front.In a very calm area, there are nearby placa for you to run in the Swiss woods.Its very near to a adventurous gaming place and a zoo. It was a great and cheaper spot to stay for some days when I was wondering in Zurich. The rooms are ok. Not so big. And the staff of the hotel was amazing with us.

The staff gave us a good service. The room is also as good as expected. Love salmon at breakfast.

Staff does not care at all for the clients and the service is mediocre. Additionally I could not sleep past 7am because staffs were throwing glass bottle endlessly in a bin and the noise was unbearable

35 degrees outside - ordering some drinks for myself; just a beer because on the jump. Well, you guessed it, no show - nothing. Terrible. Called the waiter but hes no interest for doing any service. Earlier experiences backed this one but never as worst as this one. Sorry, but this restaurant needs urgently new leadership. Dont go there, you will be disappointed!

I go on a regular base to the Sonnental hotel in Dübendorf.This time I was rather disappointed.I booked a queen size bed and got a very small single person bed.Although I booked the room quite some week in advance, I got the explanation this was the only one left.The room was in the basement across the lobby. Those are really not pleasant rooms to sleep in.I cant complain about the breakfast and restaurant of the hotel. Thats why I give 3 stars !I will certainly go back next month, but I expect the room I asked for.

Nice experience. Comfy and cozy rooms with air conditioning. Staff is very kind and able to speak Italian, German and French. Breakfast is okayish. Id suggest this place for a business trip near Zurich!

A wonderful hearty welcome. First hotel where u find a handwritten postcard as welcome geeating in ur room. a surprise and i love it. Good service and very friendly people great stay there.

A nice stay close to ZurichPluspunten · Convenient and close to the center of Zurich. Very convenient that you can park the car close to the hotel. At some hotels youll have to pay extra for that or park on the streets.The staff is very friendly and the rooms are functional and clean all necessary thing are there like soap etc. Im only not a fan from a bed where one person sleeps besides the wall, its more convenient that both persons can step out of bed on either side. The breakfast buffet was good and very sufficient.Minpunten · The rooms we stayed are in the building further away from a main road, but we still heard the sound of the road, and because the room was quite warm we had to open the window so the sound came in.

We are in the middle of our stay and so far everything has been positive. The front desk person was gracious even though we were late to check-in. The room is spacious enough for my husband and I. The bathroom is also very spacious. Everything is clean and orderly. Breakfast is part of the cost and it is superb. A lot of choices, good coffee and the server we have had so far, sorry do not know her name, is friendly and very helpful and effecient.

Rooms are clean and quiet. A little bit over heated during my last 2 stays. I needed to open the windows wide to cool down before sleeping. Free parking and breakfast with my room. Nobody at the reception in the evening during April 2021.

I stayed about 6 weeks in this hotel when I came to Dübendorf for work. It is OK. The location is good, not far from Stettbach train station and the tram and buses to Dübendorf and Wallisellen are less than 2 min walk. The parking lot is okay.I have the impression that the hotel has bet everything in the spa which is great! However, the rooms leave the impression of being outdated. These rooms are clean and medium sized, but some amenities are missing. There are details missing such as a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, or useful accessories. The bed is very comfortable.Room service is random, I sometimes missed a towel or a bath mat when I came back at night. It is also a pity that the reception closes at 16:00, it is therefore impossible to solve any problems.The breakfast is very good, complete and varied. The products are fresh and local, the service is good.In conclusion, this hotel is a good breakdown, even convenient for 2-3 nights, but no more.

A bit old school and boring. But friendly service, clean and well priced to spend a night. I didnt use the spa area which probably is a major point to chose this establishment.

We found this hotel via the internet and it is perfect and very welcoming and not too bad for price. We really liked the idea that to help us choose the wine, they brought us samples to try. There was no choice really as it had to be a local Swiss red!

Room was a bit "used" but had a good stay.

Simple, clean accommodation with no frills but no flaws either. Spa amenities free to guests and massage is available for reasonable price. If youre after something down to earth with the option for wellness amenities, its a reliable choice.

Its a homely hotel with small but adequate sized rooms. It comprises of multiple buildings of which some doesnt have an elevator, so you end up pulling your luggage up to the second floor, if youre unlucky :)Otherwise, its a fine establishment, with a good restaurant, they cook really nice in my opinion. The staff is very polite and helpful, even to foreigners who speak English. And they speak good English as well, so no complaints whatsoever.As for the room, the bathroom was quite small, if youre claustrophobic then forget it :)But the most surprising thing for me was the lack of air conditioning... It was between 30-33C during the days while I was staying there, and it was unbearable... They had a standing fan, but that was little to no help, really.The only reason I chose this hotel was the fact that it was really close to my customer, but otherwise I wouldve gone for another with AC in a heartbeat.

Wonderful experience. It is so nice to be made welcome after a long day of traveling overseas. The entire staff goes out of their way to make you feel important.

I stayed in this hotel for about a fortnight and I really enjoyed my stay. The staff are quite reasonable and speak very good English. The only drawback that I have found in this hotel is there is no room service but the restaurant downstairs caters to all kinds of vegetarian or non-vegetarian food. The hotel is located at a very convenient location in Zürich.

I’m here for the third time already. I enjoy the place which is very well reachable by car and has a few parking spaces. After a hard day at work you can calm dow and relax in a small and cute spa area. The integrated restaurant is also very good with delicious food, nice atmosphere and very quick service. The price range is in a higher average.

Expensive hotel in a small town in Switzerland. Very nice staff. Very poor management. Rooms are outdated and remind me the typical german approach to customers based on which they have their own concept of comfort: pretty spartan.Not recommended, but I am not sure that there is much better in town.

Stayed for four nights. Great location with public transportation within walking distance. The hotel was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They serve a very nice full breakfast and have excellent coffee/tea available 24 hours. The only point worth improving were the mattresses which were a little too soft for my taste.

Worst hotel experience ever. Luckily only for two nights. THE TOILET WAS IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE BED!!!!!!! Nothing in between. The window was very small and close to the ceiling, I couldnt see outside. And they charged this for €90!!!! That was two years ago. I hope they dont continue to humiliate people like that...

OK hotel in Zurich suburbs. Nothing fancy but breakfast was better than you would expect.

Acceptable for the price, but some nearby alternatives offer more modern accommodations. Breakfast was included and it is definitely one of the highlights.

On itself a comfortable stay, altho the absence of airco on a 32℃ day was unpleasant, especially for staff & riders who stayed on the top floor. Workstress is too obvious in restaurant staff (most probable due to mismanagement). Qual: 3* no more no less
