Sonia’s Homestyle Cooking & Natural Juices - Restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica
No matter how empty or late the place is. The wait time for walk in persons is too long. I have never been able to get through on the numbers to call in an order. But thats just me.
Hats off to this restaurant. One of the best food I had
Great place loved it
Food is consistently good however the wait time is unbearable, even when the order is placed before. The numbers are ALWAYS busy and parking can be difficult.
I have been dining at Sonia from the restaurant was located at the plaza and has determined that for quality local cuisine Sonia was the best place to eat anywhere in Jamaica.
Excellent service, courteous staff, rice and peas is the best Ive ever had not the mention the curry goat.
Real Aunthentic Jamaican food.....Best Fry Chicken ever....and cant leave out the original wash (brebrage)
Slow ...order wasnt ready when I got there front doesnt know whats happening in the back and Noone taking responsible for Customer having to wait
Great Jamaican food!Clean and classy restaurant.Very professional staff.I highly recommend this place....make sure its on your bucket list!!!
Food is great. Took almost an hour to get the food that was ordered 1.5 hr prior.
Great services and good authentic Jamaican food
Its an alright lunch spot. The serving and prices are good. Theres a considerable wait time though after you pay for your food, even outside of peak hours.
Ordered online and 1 hour later standing patiently waiting to be acknowledged by a server. What does she do? Go to the gentleman BEHIND me to serve him before me! Why??? Good thing my mouth loud! First bad experience with them today 21Aug22
Returning to jamaica as a tourist and trying different places. Very good atmosphere and decor, with friendly greeting at entrance. Parking is so limited and small, but great help from guys outside directing vehicles. But ok food taste and waiter service. Yet so pricey.
Fantastic authentic Jamaican cuisines; natural and exquisite juices , desserts and meals.Great ambiance; and professional, friendly and helpful staff..good location..wonderful experience..breakfast and lunch separate days..
Excellent fried chicken and curried goat lunches.
This is real Jamaican cooking at its best. Ive had curry goat, jerk chicken and stewed peas and rice, all up to authentic class jamaican style. I recommend all visitors or returning jamaicans to try their menus.
Delicious, authentic Jamaican foods are prepared here. They offer both take away and dining in experiences.
Excellent serviceExcellent food (I had curry goat and mashed potatoes)Excellent drinks (I had passion fruit)Excellent ambiance 10000/10 will go again
Exceptional service, Exceptional taste! Love this place, the food is always on point. If I could afford to go there everyday I would. Lol
Best for Homestyle Jamaican meals! Taste is consistent. Affordably priced for portion! Excellent food and service!
Great ambiance, great customer service, great food.. this is a top tier place.. yass
One of the best places to get food in Kingston by far. Slightly higher prices, but trust me, the taste is a class above anything else in the category.
One of if not the best place to dine in Jamaica. Very tasty and delicious meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great customer service. Wow!!
Food is Great. Authentic Jamaican Food. Suggesting ordering in advance as wait time cna be lengthy to collect
20 minutes before seeing a waiter only to be told we had just missed breakfast. Then the waiter said the menu was in his head bit he didnt know rhe meal costs so had to go and check. We didnt stay. The food smelled REALLY good though. We were too hungry to wait any longer. The extra star is for the smell.
Food was on point. Great flavor too
Homemade Jamaican cuisine. I only had a soup but it tasted really good. I’m planning to go back
Clean, Jamaica theme interior decor. The waiter gave excellent service. Food was very delicious and served hot. Short wait time. Overall great experience. My only challenge was parking.
The customer service there is horrible and the wait time is ridiculous. The servers and cashiers act like they own the place and like you can keep your money if you want. The rudest staff Ive come across in a while.
The food was excellent in presentation and taste, kinda small but delicious.
Amazing food that felt home cooked. Super professional staff in a great environment. Highly recommended
Dining is always good. Servers are very attentive and friendly. Food is very good. Value for money. Try them for some good old fashioned Jamaican food. The take out section needs a bit of work. Staff isnt always pleasant and they often dont update the board as they should, when items are sold out. They take a while to answer the phone also for take out orders.
The worst tasting Jamaican callaloo I have ever had in my entire life. The customer service was equally below expectation and 8 of the 11 customers were complaining that morning. Never will I return
Lovely. Intimate place. Sunday dinner with a saxophonist. Friendly staff. Great Jamaican food. Open every day.
Great Jamaican food always. A warm welcome and true warm Ole time Jamaican hospitality. Well done Ms Sonia
This is the breakfast spot. Home cooked, fresh, clean and courteous staff.Update March 2022: food is still amazing. When you go to dine in for breakfast, ask for Sharon. She will make your experience amazing. 🙌🏽
I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and not use one bad experience to broad brush paint this venture. Nonetheless, I’ve been there multiple times and every time I go there the service gets worst and worst. The food is good but they take forever to serve you, never have the correct items on the menu, the cashiers have zero customer service, and the phone lines? Don’t bother try calling you probably won’t get to them.
I like their curbside pickup system where you place your order online and pickup. I ordered pork chops with rice & peas, raw vegetables and potato salad. The price was good at $1580 and the serving size was reasonable plus they added a piece of plantain to my order. However, the pork chops werent as soft as I hoped for and I wished it was prepared in a different way like grilled with barbeque sauce. Also, it makes no sense calling their phone lines because they dont answer.
Took my baby here for dinner and we absolutely loved it. The food was excellent and the waiters were even better! The dining area felt really fancy yet it felt like home at the same time. the service was great, I wish I could have tipped all the waiters, the food was good but the waiters also deserve the highlight, they made us feel welcomed beyond belief.
Visiting Jamaica, my sister took me for breakfast, we had fritters, it was super salty. I wont give a bad review because 2019 was my 1st time my sister took my other sister and I, and the breakfast was delicious and they had the juice makers and the guy offered me a cup to taste the juice. It was DELISH. Yes definitely I will be back at Sonias on my next visit to Jamaica 🇯🇲 😊
I know the wait is long but when you go the ahead to call to find out what is ready you have your representative say only fried chicken and curry goat is ready! Why Miss Sonia when I get here Im told 20 minutes for fried chicken by a cashier who does not care that you have misinformed the customer absolutely unacceptable. Tell us when we call that its 20 minutes for your order! Dont say thats all we have at this time for me to choose from what is ready and tell me your just making it when Im here to pick up! Finally after twenty minutes get the order and back in the care what I ordered is not in the box now now body will answer the phone go back in and no service the lady look up and back to what shes doing! Disgusting!
Food was good, down to the bone, will be going back.
Being there a few times with my family and we really enjoyed the food.so many dishes to choose from and there is always pastries in the front. So clean and friendly staff. Looking forward to my next trip to Jamaica already. You wont be disappointed.
The wait was a bit long but the food was so worth it. The rice and peas was awesome. You could taste the coconut milk in it. The chicken was fried to perfection. It was a bit pricey but pricey. I would go there everyday if it was a little less pricey.
The dining decor has changed since last visiting; much prefer the new aesthetic. Had the stew peas with 🐖 which was tasty, tasty, tasty!!!!!! My friends had the fried chicken which they said was also good. The meals were served quickly. Staff-pleasant. For sure would return and dine
The food here is very good and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. The portion is kinda small.
Sonias has the best homestyle Jamaican cooking I have ever had! Everything on the menu is really good. An easy 10/10 for me.
The rice and peas was well done, best I have tasted in a Jamaican restaurant. Compared it to Lornas Catering and it was better. The gungo peas soup was also excellent. The curry goat is delicious and sweet and sour stew pork was good. The passion fruit juice is home made and not watered down. It was awesome. Pure goodness. I would recommend Sonia Homestyle as a great pitstop to enjoy real Jamaican cooking. The customer service is also better than most places in Kingston.
I visited Jamaica for a few days and my spouse and I went here for lunch one day and also breakfast on a Sunday Morning. The food was really great and the staff was courteous. When I visit again Sonias is a must. Great Jamaican food with a variety to choose from.
