Its funny that this is called a "wine restaurant" when the owner does not even know how to properly grab the wine bottle... Dont even get me started on everything else.My bad experience was clearly a result of a bad organization.

Giving only a 2 star review, even though the food wasnt bad and the staff was friendly. Let me explain.First, with a band like this one would expect a fine dinner with excellent wine pairing. We trusted the sommelier to serve us a nice wine to go with the food, but the wine was just served. Nothing was told to us about the pairing whatsoever. This happened with all three courses, even though the place was less than 13 filled.For starters we had both the steak and fish tartrate. Both were served with fruit. The watermelon worked surprisingly well with the fish, but the fruit didnt work well with the steak. The main dish was ok, but in my opinion way overpriced.Overall, I must say that this was one of my less "bang for the buck" restaurants Ive visited in Lisbon. As a wine lover, there are better locations to visit.

It is potentially a good thing, if the only criticism is, that they mean it to well at times. The open guest room can get loud, and some of the dishes could have used a little more personality. But those are both matters of personal opinion and preference.You can taste the great ingredients in the dishes wich are arranged beautiful and with care. The name giving sommelier is an absolute treat to watch when he, with sparkling passion in his eyes, serenades about his tasty treasures.My criticism regarding the size and amount of the servings was carefully and respectful received. I had a very good time here and wholeheartedly can recommend it to everybody.

We had a very unpleasant stay there.We had a reservation and were looking to taste different wines. But the wine was NOT available by the glass, not a single one.Staff was unfriendly and not even knowledgeable about their own wine bottles. They were not authentic at all!I could not enjoy the food and my stomach felt bad afterwards, but this could have been an effect of the atmosphere.Not recommended.

I never put 1 star reviews but heres my evening.Based on the reviews we decided to try out this restaurant.At the begining we were friendly greeted and sat at the table. The atmosphere was nice and the local is really clean and good looking.The sommelier came and advised us on what to take , so we ordered 2 glasses of wine. We started with a nice big cheese plate and then for later we ordered a dish which was pasta with fish.During our seat the waiters were very nice but after we finished our wine we wanted to taste more so we asked the waiter 2 times for the wine card and she said the sommelier would come and help us. He didnt pass by at all, and paid attention only at the other table ( there were 2 tables occupied only. This kind of already ruined the mood.After eating the fish and pasta we asked for the check 4 times - it took more than 20 minutes to receive it. During the meal we also had water which we thought was on the house since it wasnt on any of the menus.When the bill arrived I see we were charged 7 euros for the water - its not about the cost but about the transparency: nowhere written about water cost.When I put my card to pay, the sommelier asked me for a tip - personally I feel like tips should be earned , not asked for - especially if you brand yourself as a high class restaurant.So because no one served us more wine, we waited 20 min for the check, no transparency on water, I decided I didnt want to give a tip.When he saw this he just took all checks (even mine, turned around and ran away - really child behaviour : acting all offended and didnt even say thanks or goodbye on our way out.Never coming here again .Also, unfortunately the wine tasting machines were broken so it was just ordering through the menu - no problem here.As I paid for 2 water bottles , I wanted to take with me the bottle which I didnt finish - they took it back because I can only drink it inside.

Made a mistake coming here to celebrate my birthday. Food was good, as well as wine. Prices ok. However, we had to ask for the bill 4 times before getting it, while the restaurant was far from being full. The waiter became unfriendly after my husband decided not to leave a tip. Also, we had to ask twice for the wine card and no one came till we finish the dinner.They offer you water while keeping the bottle in the common area, not on your table, offering you a refill, but then you’re charged the full bottle - no transparency at all. Do not recommend this place.

When my husband and I arrived we immediately commented on their tremendous selection of wines. They offered us a 16 ( 8 white 8 redtasting prior to our meal. It was a phenomenal experience and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was exceptional as well. It’s definitely a unique experience if you like to sample multiple wines before ordering a bottle or glass. Atmosphere is clean, relaxing and cozy. I only didn’t give it 5 stars because a few of the dishes were slightly under seasoned for our taste. However the staff brought us salt as soon as we asked. Overall excellent experience!

Really a nice surprise in Lisbon, a new and creative concept, quite interesting and useful if you want to discover Portuguese wines (you should...).The service is friendly too and by the way , the food is refined.

Outstanding! This restaurant delivers exceptionally in every part of the dining out experience. A warm welcome, experienced and attentive service, delicious, professionally prepared and presented food with an extensive wine and Port selection to please everyone. We enjoyed beef and seafood entrees that left a lasting impression of the finer culinary opportunities in Lisbon and places we visited in Portugal. Highly recommended!

It was perfect place to enjoy food, wine and atmosphere. Every staffs were very polite and considerate, kept checking we are okay even they were really busy.We had 6 course of food with classic wine pairing, it was just a perfect matching!We were so impressed about everything in here, especially surprising dessert serving, and thanks a lot for helping us to have nice anniv.

Higher end restaurant in Lisbon. Quality dishes, nice atmosphere, big wine list. But with all that, you get prices more like NY City than Lisbon. But the wine sommelier was super friendly, gave great advice. Octopus was tender and the black pasta with pesto was delicious. You get what you pay for.

This place was AMAZING! We went for the deluxe wine pairing menu, and you should, too. If youre creating your own meal, especially loved the lamb and duck plates.The ambiance is really cool, as well. I love purple, so I was in love just from the color pallette.The location is a bit tucked away, but definitely worth finding. Theres also a great cocktail bar, basically nextdoor -- 86 Cocktail Bar -- perfect for a pre or post dinner beverage.For us the price wasnt so bad, compared to what we would have paid back home for a similar experience. If money is tight, make this your big night out.

Amazing food, we liked octopus and black linguine. Very good service however be aware of the bread which is not complimentary. Also no one asked us about refreshing the water, they’ve just included that in the bill.Bathroom door was broken which isn’t something you’d expect from €€€ restaurant.Apart from that very good experience, as I said food is really great!

Great concept for a self serve wine tasting. Everyone has a card and pics whichever wine you like. Have a taster or a full glass once you find a good one. Food was excellent too and servers were friendly and patient with the questions. Great for groups

Good opportunity to spend NYE, thanks to Christina, our remarkable waiter. We were granted a wonderful guide to wines and every small need was satisfied. Meat steaks were good and served quickly. She even told us as a tourist what to do next tonight.If only I could know how to reduce the level of noise inside!..

We were a table of two on a Saturday night and took the dining experience (65€with a classic wine extra for each dish (+35€).The service was amazing, but they had weird wine pairing which to me despite the "original" choice wasnt matching (white wine with lamb and red wine with cod).Aside of a few missed dishes (spinach was chewy and duck magret was watery), the overall experience was pleasant. I suggest it for a fine dining experience, but without the pretention of a Michelin star dining. Props for the staff in which serving was consistent, friendly and very professional.

I had some wine here last night. Loved it! Ill be back for sure!Okay, I went back. Very limited vegetarian options. I ordered the beet soup which was fabulous but was very disappointed in the salad. It was my main course and at 14€ I expected something of a reasonable size and quality. It was "maybe" a cup and a half and was very marginal. My bill which included one glass of wine along with my soup and salad came to 30€. Terrible quantity, quality and price for a dinner for one. I did complain and was told they would pass it on to the management. I walked out under-whelmed and under fed. Good experience when I went earlier for wine alone though.

The service was great and the staff are really attentive. You never find yourself passively aggressively staring at a waiter hoping to get their attention. The wine was superb and the oxtail croquettes were spectacular and unique. I got the cod and it was melt in the mouth. Only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because there were bones in my fish.

We were served by the manager, Arnaldo. He is has reached WSET Level 4 certification, which requires an incredible amount of study time and work experience. Arnaldo is continuing his trek through WSET and the Master of Wine institute, which would place him among the best in the world within 2-3 years. I am working my way up the wine industry as well and this restaurant is fantastic in every way. My friend Alex and I were blown away by the food, wine, and service and we concluded this was the highlight of our Europe trip. The restaurant is small and not too crowded, which allows them to concentrate on service. My friend and I tried the tasting menu and basic wine pairing, which comes to around 85 euros. You can dine here for much cheaper for the 85 euros was worth every penny. Ask for Arnaldo.

Im not one to review restaurants frequently, but I am frankly compelled to write a review about this place.When taking into account food, wine, and service, this is the best meal I have ever had in my life. Maybe I need to get out more, but I am from the NYC area and have traveled heavily in Europe, North America, and Central America. Ive been to restaurants that have earned Michelin stars. This place was really something else.The food is excellent, though not the best Ive ever tasted. The Portuguese wine selection was exquisite. But what made this meal special was the service. The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty in every respect. My wife and I were blown away.If youre in Lisbon and youre looking to treat yourself, you simply cannot pass on this opportunity.

Pricey. Food a bit above average. Good wine and service.Definitely a place with lots of good wine. The waiters knew very much about the wine and were good at recommending the right one to match the food. We, my girlfriend and I, wanted to try the Vinho Verde as I dont like red wine. A fine experience. The restaurant was quite pricey and the food wasnt anything special. We could get a very fine and complete dinner in Copenhagen for the same price - and Copenhagen is a very expensive city. Not a place I would visit again but if you love wine and have the money to get the fuld experience I would recommend it.

Really good food. Amazing service. We had seafood broth for starter, and it was really nicely served. Then we had tuna steak and octopus. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved it!!! Professional waiters, better than Michelin quality food, almost no wait, great for wine lovers or for sophisticated food gurmets, better yet if you are both. Price was adequate the quality of the services provided.

Who said you cannot reach perfection? I have never been to Portugal before and made a reservation for business dinner with my colleagues. It is a great place. The word “food” is not appropriate in my understanding. It is about cuisine art...And this is just outstanding. Add good jazz and lounge music, very courteous attitude of personnel, cosy atmosphere and...you are good to go;-I highly recommend this place to everyone for any type of event. No doubts, romantic dinner or celebration with your friends, it doesn’t really matter. You will enjoy it. As we did. For sure;-)

Good service, nice atmosphere but the wine was only average. The steak was also the most dry and salty Ive ever experienced. Not a restaurant i would visit again.

Went here on a whim, after reading the rave reviews. Unfortunately, we were not impressed... The restaurant itself looks awesome and both the wines themselves as the system with the card are very nice. The service is a bit stiff, but I guess they want to be a little upscale, so thats okay as well. The food - unfortunately - was just "ok" and certainly way too pricey. Bread and butter were simply outrageously priced (and provided without asking). At the end we (as touristswere also reminded that service was not included in the bill in Portugal (which was certainly news for us!)... Subtle... All in all, there are way better restaurants in the neighborhood and I would only recommend if you really want to try their wide range of wines by the glass.

Great service, and a vast range of wines. Bread and one glass last week was brilliant. Its on my list of places to return and try the menu. Its situated on a hill, with a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing dinner experience. I dont comment a lot on Gmail, but I do when Im blown away. The staff is fantastic, super nice and very welcoming. Not stuck up at all in a very nice and chic environment. The food tastes delicious, and the wine tastings are very fun. I will be back for sure and sending all my friends that visit Lisbon here. This restaurant was amazing. The food was some of the best I have had. The croquettes were fabulous. Our waiter recommended a white wine that was out of is world. A must go to place when in Lisbon.

We thought this was a great find. Interesting food and tasty. Definitely try the lamb salad. The sparkling wine was great as well. We liked the format: you can be served wine or fill your own glass. The wait staff are pleasant, knowledgeable, and fun.

Excellent for Wine Lovers...and also for everybody. Nice and innovative concept on wine pairing, with 60+ references by the glass, chilled and well preserved. Superb atmosphere and very warm, professional staff. Food is simply great: cod, tuna, foie... Not a cheap place, but it offers an excellent value for money. If you enjoy food, wine and atmosphere, stop here...you will not be disappointed.

This was a unique experience as far as food tastes and level of service. Not just this, they have a wall full of wine bottles with a special system you can tast the wine for small money and take a glass with larger amount for full payment. Its a cool system (very high-tech). All and all it is one of the best restaurants I ever visited and worth more than one visit. I specialy recommend the testing dish where you get small dishes of al kind. Yammmmiiiiii, it was so good. Will come here again and again and again….

Very good. Rich collection of Portugal vines. The kitchen is original end gentle. Dishes are modern bat with taste of Portugal. Service is good end people are friendly. Prices are acceptable.

A wine lovers destination. Entire well chosen wine list is available by the glass, and the sommelier was amazing at pairing wines with each course I chose. Dont miss the black forest ham appetizer, the warm baby lamb salad or the Azores tuna. Will definitely return on my next trip to Lisbon.
