A 1.4 mile stretch of sandy beach backed by dunes, known for watersports with parking & restrooms.
Good strand for free walk on the fine sand, fantastic sea, clean air to fill your lungs with.
Gorgeous beach in Sola, Rogaland. Perfect for long/short walks (not suitable for strollers/wheelchairs without special sand proof wheels though). Beautiful sunrises/sunsets and a lovely background for photo shoots. Recommended!
๐๐๐
One of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, clearest water, ever.
Long beaches, blue water, perfect for a summer afternoon withbthe kids
Huge beach โฑ๏ธThe biggest one inn Rogaland.Very clean ๐Be careful when swimming, alot off jellyfish, not dangerous but painful. There is also undercurrents so beware.Waters the run along the beach are dirty so stay away.
Fantastic beach!
White soft sand. Very beatiful beach but very windy
Amazing and beautiful beach with a long beach line to walk and play!!Lots of sand.Clear water.
Large sandy beach. With a lot of dunes but also with a lot of wind. Large parking. Ideal for kite surfing
I love this beach. Its great to come here and relax. You can find a nice quiet spot on the soft sand and enjoy the sunshine and sound of the waves. Water is cold but pleasant.
Lovely sand. Looked nice. But so cold.
Was windy when we went, but loved the soft almost white sand. Lots of free parking and public toilet nearby.
Gorgeous beach! The water is cold but I really felt transported out of Norway on this beach. It was just what I needed. I didnt know we had such fine sandy beaches in Norway before visiting here. It transported me back to Hilton Head Island aside from the much cooler temperatures.
Nice clean beach, with many people. Good place to be ๐. But its windy and cold for me ๐๐.
Nice and clean beach, wished the weather was favorable in this part of the country, this could have made this place popular
Fantastic sandy beach and a relaxing tranquil setting. Not so many tourists either ๐
Norways best beach in Stavanger is #SolaStrand.๐๐๐๐๐๐
This beach is so nice and you can take a nice long stroll on a beautiful sunny day. You can also have picnic if its not windy.
The beach itself is beautiful. Wide sandy beach with grassy dunes and old WW2 fortifications. Sola Strand Hotel nearby and Sola Gรฅrd at the other end. Airport is behind, as is the golf course. Toilet blocks (open seasonallyat Regestrand parking and Sola Hotel parking. Large bins next to the toilets with bags available should anyone wish to collect any rubbish. Wooden walkways and steps for easy access.Sadly are the three different sewage streams that bisect the beach, and also there are always numerous piles of dog mess between the carparks and the sand itself. I regularly walk my dog here and always end up taking more of it back to the bin than my dog actually produces.
Nice place to relax and take a walk!๐
Very nice beach for a walk. Waiting for the summer to enjoy it more.
Clean long sandy beach. Hoping for a public utility upgrade such shower room or even water tap inside the wc
Beautiful and long beach just by the airport and not that far from Stavanger. The beach has powdery sand that stretches into the ocean as well - my only problem with it is that the water is of course quite cold as this is the north sea. On a sunny day in the summer there will be quite a lot of people on this beach soaking up the sun and playing games.
Beautiful place. Lots of sand.
Visited yesterday this famous beach in city Stavanger. Very nice and clean sand. Lots of car parking place and a very good restaurant close to the beach
Its a beautiful place to have walked with my family. I took a new years swim in the freezing cold water and stayed in there pretty much as long as I could. As you can imagine, the ride back home was chilly to say the least.
The beach at Sola is definately worth visiting. On hot summer days it is usually packed, and is one of the most popular of the beaches on Jรฆren, though perhaps not the nicest, I guess. There is a stream near one of the ends that carries sewage into the ocean - and the airport at Sola and a helicoptre landing zone is nearby. In the past, I think Sola beach was where young people usually went in the summer, while Bore and รlberg, for instance, was the more family friendly ones. I am not sure this distinction is still the case.Anyway, the beach is long and beautiful. In the summer you can bathe in the North Sea and the sun, and the rest of the year it is a more peaceful place, still worth a visit to take a walk or to dip your toes in the water.
Although I visited on a windy, rainy and cold day, I could see how beautiful the beach is, how clean and how impressive must be to sit there on a good day. Would love to visit again!
For a 15 minute walk from the airport (and the no. 42 bus stop by the Clarion Hotel), its a beautiful beach, not too busy but with stunning silver sands and terquoise sea. Worth a visit if youre up for the walk :)
Beautiful but other beaches up the coast are even more stunning.
I had a great day at this beautiful beach close to the airport before I left Stavanger. Very clean and not too crowded.
Always fresh air whatever the weather, but good clothes/ear protection a must as its always +/- windy, the Sola strand hotel is good for a coffee or stay over, the WW2 bunkers Are always a reminder of things past.........worth the trip
A beautiful beach, right by the airport in Sola. There is a hotel with restaurant which serves good lunch that you can enjoy while sitting on the terrace admiring the nature.Toilets are available for people and a kiosk ppened in the sunny days. The parking place is very large.
relatively clean and beautiful beach
Just cool place. There is not many beaches in Norway. I walked from airport with all my luggage. Just to relax. Just listening to waves. Watching planes. And if you look closely. There is plenty of sea trouts jumping in to the air.
Beautiful sandy beach close to Stavanger
Good parking next to the Sola Strand Hotel. Very popular place, sometimes too many people. Landing helicopters (manycan be bothersome, but some like it more than the beach itself. Kiting possible here.
Amazing! Little chill water but Amazing!
Perfekt place โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ
A beautiful beach with a large parking lot. The sand kind of sticks to you but hey, its a beach! Just go here on a warm day and relax. Also the water is really nice. Almost no current which makes it perfect for children as well.
Nice soft white sand. Cold water, 10* celcius. Few ppl around even during sunny days. Helicopters can be seen close up. Nice old dining hall at the hotell, breakfast is really good and priceworthy but dinner etc. Is waaaay overpriced and not worth it. Public restroom near the hotell.
Nice place with fine sand and long shallow water. Popular for kite surfing and family visit when its sunny and warm
Beautiful beach, cold water
Good sand, lot of place, quite clear but no fresh water showers.
Space, light, fresh air, gently lapping waves.
Great beach, beautiful. Of course the water is cold, but on a summer day without wind, this is a great place to spend the day and barbecue in the sand dunes
Nice beach by the sea.
The house beach of Stavanger. Quite crowded when weather is good. Nice place to go kite surfing. A little kiosk and the bar/restaurant of the Solastrand Hotel are nearby to get some food or drinks. Sometimes a bit dirty for Norwegian standards.
Its hard to beleive that you can find such a nice beach in Norway. Perfect for water activities, even if the Norwegian weather might not be the best. I would recommend also visiting Sola. Strandhotell for a coffee or something small to eat.
