Tours are offered of this historic fort with unique architecture & a large garden nearby.
Peaceful place. Great surrounding after fall. Some things must available inside like drinking water, guide map. You are charging much amount and serving nothing.
No doubt this fort has seen days of grandeur but now its in a sad state of neglect. Administration should put effort in its upkeep. It covers very large area. With proper management it can be turned into a very good tourist spot. It felt bad seeing empty water bottles, plastic waste lying everywhere. Talk grass growing in many places, making it difficult to explore. Hope this place get a make over.
This fort is not only an ancient Muslim fort located in Solapur. one can find a ruined Shiva temple with underground Shiva Linga and a Mahakaleshwar temple and a mosque with carved ceiling and several pillars inside it.The Bajirao Peshwa, Chhatrapati Pratap Singh Bhosale of Satara, stayed here for a month in 1818. while Bijapur was ruled by Ismail Adilshah.Adilshahs daughter Burhan was given to Nizamshah and the marriage ceremony was celebrated with great pomp. The marriage took place at Solapur fort.At that time, that is. In 1523, the fort was in the possession of Bijapur. In 1552, it was given to Chandbibi Ali Adilshah, the second princess of Ahmednagar.During Aurangzebs reign most of his time was spent around the fort. Later this fort came under the control of Nizam of Hyderabad and later Marathas.
Too calm and relaxing experience in the morning. Best place to workout and meditation. And also best place to hangout at evening.
Nice place to visit… peaceful environment
Needs more maintenance and care. Most of the corner of the fort is not cleaned.
Fort is good to see.. But it is need to maintain for tourist. we were not able to explore complete fort as there was heavy grass. No direction was mentioned for watching fort. Guide is not available. So detailed information should be available..
Its a historic monument situated in the heart of the cityIt has some eateries around it, you can easily spend 1hour to complete the sight seeing of the fort, then have some crunchy snacks near the fortIt is also attached to jogging track which is in between siddheshwar temple and bhuikot fort, it has various activities during Sunday morning where senior citizen gather and have some events
Managed by ASI, the fort definitely has seen better days and could use better upkeep. Inside the fort, there is lot of park area, couple of fountains but has not been maintained properly with grass having overgrown throughout the place. But for fort lovers, you can stroll around the place and visit 2 -3 structures that are still standing. You can spend about 1 - 1.5 hours max at this place, not more. The walls of the fort still stand majestically overlooking the city and the view of the lake and siddeshwar temple from the ramparts are worth a view. Was told at the ticket counter that use of DSLR inside the fort is prohibited at the time of this writing in Sep22 but point and shoot cameras or mobile phones are allowed. It may change in future but not as of now. There are amenities inside the fort but since the fort is in the heart of the city you have access to food/water as soon as you exit the fort. The walk along the paved path near the fort called ganpath ghat is also something you may want to try if you are visiting the fort.
Quite old fort u can spend here 30 to 45 minuteEntry fee for adults is 25 rs per person
A historical place indeed. Needs better facilities to attract more visitors.
One of the best ever fort which is built on the land n huge rounded by rock wall
Nice place for a walk especially durimg the rain among the trees and peace❣
A good place to have picnic and relax while enjoying the historical fort structure. There is temple within the fort. From this fort can see the lake and Sri Siddheswar temple
One of the ancient historical place in Solapur district of Maharashtra. Built in 14th century. Now its not maintain properly.Entrance fee Rs.25 for local and Rs.300 for foreigners.
Great and calm place.Scenery from top of fort is exquisite.Floura and fauna is rich also Their are lots of food stalls in fort area .
Beautiful monument with ancient structure and temple inside
Beautiful architecture.Must see are 32 pillar hall, view of Sidheshwar Temple from Burj, Nageshwar Temple and entry door.
If u are in solapur and interested in visiting an old fort just go for it. Not a big one either.
There are two gates to the fort, the main one, and a couple of back entrances that descend into the back garden. There is no way to go from this garden to the fort.Entry is 25/-
Safety or cautionary points are not maintained
Need to be maintain...Such a historical place but not maintaining.
U will love the creation. Unbelievably best architect.
I have visited this place on 6th Jan.21.It is under the control of Archiological survey of India. Garden is good. The history of fort is written at the entrance of the fort. But it is to be maintained as some of the parts stones have been fallen down. Entry ticket is of Rs.25 per person. Best place to visit when you are in Solapur
If you love history and like to know about some part of history this fort is Must visit when you on tour to Solapur!Entry ticket is 25 per person and free for kids below 12yrsV quite place in middle of hustle bustle of city.....2 peaceful temples are located inside fort here .......Shiva n Devi mandirs are active and staff here do daily prayers and pooja. The most fascinating thing is shivas temple is below ground level and not visible easily as may be this beacause to save Hindu god from moghul attack.Need some attention by #Maharashtra s #touristminister and #MTDCThis can be place for evening beautiful light show as huge flat ground availableSad part is young couples in Solapur are using this public place as their romance spot which makes tourist awkward specially when you are with elders n kids (it as expected as the fort is not maintained properly)
The fort and its surrounding area is having potential for being a good tourist spot. We will get that medivel rustic construction feel and the place also incorporates a "notsobad" garden. Nice but undeveloped/ not taken care of place.
Solapur bhuikot killa was build by Bahamani dynasty in the 14th century.Entry fees - 20Rs. Per personTime - 9am - 5pmIt takes around 1 hour maximum to explore the whole fort premises. The fort has double fortification and has typical bahamani era construction style. It has two gates, North gate and Mahakali gate, a Shani temple, a ruined Shiva temple, Mahakaleshwar temple and a mosque with carved ceiling and several pillars inside it.There is also a well, which is in octagonal in shape and a small pond inside it.Fortification wall and bastion are still in very good condition.
Place opens up at 9 am and is open till 5 pm. Though most of the fort is still intact but this glorious piece of history is ill maintained. As per the security funds dried up for the upkeep of the fort. If the fort can regain its lost glory and a sound and light show be added to the venue would attract crowd and revenue both. Also the fort should have someone like a guide to explain history of the fort generating interest. Solapur has a rich of story telling sadly no ones interested
As on 24/9/2021 fort remains closed since lockdown. It was a total waste taking an extra day in my tour just for this fort. Absolutely irresponsible of the ASI department to close a public place without any information or notice for such a prolonged time.DO NOT VISIT AND WASTE YOUR TIME!!
Magnificent views(Shri Siddeshwar Temple)from Bhuikot Fort,Really Loved it.Ticket Price At counter :- ₹25Book online tickets thier you can save ₹5 for each.
Very nice place.... enjoyed sunday with my son...and maintained very well
Its good place to visit but need more cleanliness
Bhuikot Fort is one of the oldes fort in MAHARASHTRA , Solapur also known by this Fort , this Fort was built by EMPEROR ADIL SHAH, WAS a big fort in Solapur , But this destroyed by British ruler , the fort is 80% damaged and destroy , bus Naam ka kila hai , baaki khandher sa lagtaa hai , Her cheez toota foota hai , historical place hai , purani Deewar hain , veeran masjid hai , , But garden Achchaa hai , you can sit here, total y my opinion about Fort one time good,
The main attraction is the shiva temple in the fort. This place needs a lot of maintenance, its almost like a lover point with couples in all corners doing all kind of stuff.
The fort is very nice. But not well maintained by ASI of Maharashtra department. They have maintained only garden inside the fort. But fort wall and monument not well maintained. Even i saw so maby beer bottle on one of the wall top.

Old fort with developed garden inside...The view of siddheshwar temple and lake is too good from this place...Need to proper maintain this historical place....
Nice place for Young people to enjoy holidayAnd it is open from 9 Oclock to 5 Oclock. It is very nice and excellent place for children
I alongwith my family visited the Solapur Fort on 28th December 2018. It was built in 1656 by Ali Adilshaha, then won by Maratha and Nizam later on. It has 3 big wooden doors, a Mahadeo temple, stone boundary etc. We spent approximately 2 hours. It is near to Sidhdheshwar temple and the temple is visible from the fort boundary.
Must visit the historical place in solaphur and explore the history Shivani era and it is in between the city easily located
One of the oldest Bhuikot- fort in Maharashtra with amazing monument. This place has nice garden with rich ecosystem. One can see many types of birds, have water body in side fort.Good for photographers, travellers, have good food joints, malls near vicinity.
Nice place for morning or evening walk. This has a history associated with it. It was built in 14th century by Bahamani Dynasty then it was took over by Mughals. Recommended place to go
Old monument. Worth visit once only to see what is left, before you lose this also permanently. The masjid is really marvelous. The pillars are standing and holding the roof as if for done last time.
It is said that the fort was built during the 14th century under the rule of Bahamani Dynasty, in the memory of Hutatma Bagh. As per the historians, Aurangazeb spent quite some time in this fort. Once it was handed over to the Peshwas, Bajirao II also stayed here. Bahamani Sultan built a temple in the fort that attracts thousands of visitors. There is also a well in the fort, which is in octagonal in shape. As many other forts this fort also not maintained propely. But nice place to chill out with family and friends
Nice fort but no proper maintenance
Superb construction of 18 century. Fort is very good in present conditions.
Not well maintained, most of this are destroyedEvening time lights in garden and fountain are good
Nice Fort build in early 17th Century, good example of Hemadpanthi architecture in Shiv Mandir and in Masjid. Three Entry Gates still standing in good conditions.!
This fort should have been preserved by the Archeological Survey of India but like all other forts of Maharashtra this is not maintained properly, you would notice bushes everywhere and its not thst big fort but it has one Shiv Temple and one Masjid, both of them are vacant, it gives view of Lake and temple behind it. There are many birds which you can click and its usually a quiet place where people dont come so often.
