I honestly thought the pictures looked amazing & did look forward to spending a week there until the reality of it was hurricane damaged most of the electricity & around midnight the generator gave up & thats when the nightmare started I didnt get enough sleep from the heat & switched rooms because unfortunately water wasnt available to shower. The room looked like motel rooms. But the staff there were super friendly & very accommodating I wont ever forget them.

The staff is a group of adolescents. However, a few had the understanding of hospitality, like Juan who genuinely seemed to be bothered my room was not ready. It really a shame. They have things place all over the hotel… pressure washer… shopping carts…cushions… that double down as dog beds…)although friendlywild dogs running around like guests sitting by the pool. If you had no where else to stay for the night… then this is you place

My stay in this hotel was over all excellent. I had excellent service and and the employee Reynaldo was very professional and helpful at all times. The bar it’s pretty good I would a 100% percent recommend it. The pool is very nice and there’s a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. I highly recommend it!!!

Loved this place!!, if your looking for a 4 star hotel, this is not it, looks like theyre still recovering from the pandemic, but this place character, garden and landscape were great but hardly any staff on hand to keep them 100%, rooms were cool, bed was comfortable, pool was great, front desk person was great, only a handful of people in the whole place, which is a shame, this place has great bones, if your looking for a cool place to stay just outside Ponce, give this hotel a chance 👍

Well a mixed bag. In the evening the place is poorly lit outside which to me is a security concern. My room was infested with ants. (All over the bathroom). There was a wire hanging from the TV, over the room, to a window which it looks like someone not trained to do it performed the task. All that being said, after we voiced our concerns with the front desk, the attendant helped us book a room at another hotel. So the customer service gets a high mark.

Feels run down. Not how the website makes it feel portrayed as. Staff not super friendly. Our room was suppose to be by the pool. We were put in a room in the far back corner. Room was clean. You could feel the mattress springs through the mattresses. They only gave us 2 towels for 3 people. When asked if we could have more they would only exchange towel for a used one. No wash clothes. No fridge or microwave in these rooms. Definitely not by the beach. Its close but not by it. The beach is run down as well. There were stray dogs everywhere. I suggest staying else where.

Book at your own risk. We expected this to be a great hotel based on the pictures we saw. The bathrooms were not updated. Cracks and plaster in a few areas. Beds were so hard. Had to ask for more pillows since the one on the bed had no cushion at all. Had to be moved from our first room twice. They changed us from a room that had a Queen size bed to Full size beds. None of the TVs in all 3 rooms worked. They didnt service our room the first 3 days, no beds done, no garbage was taken out. We had to keep going to the office and let them know. Definitely not worth what they charged us. I been to different hotels that are not big named company ones and they have turned out way better than this one. A true disappointment.

BEWARE! Dont let the business photos fool you. This place looks run down and reeks of dead fish and needs a serious remodel. Do not bring your family here, please stay away. We ended up leaving and not staying, the service was not willing to help either, they kept our money and said it is what it is.

We booked this place thinking it was going to be a nice hotel, but it was anything but. To start, there were few amenities. There was no fridge, no microwave, the WiFi was not able to reach our room which was in the middle of the complex, and the TV was an old tube set and half of the channels were messed up. There werent any cups provided, and no liner for the ice container. We asked for extra pillows, but there werent any. The AC unit kept making loud knocking noises throughout the night, waking us up multiple times. The desk in the room had a piece of the finish broken off, and the bathroom door was fraying apart at the bottom. However, the shower stall was still wet and was dirty, but luckily we were only there for a night, so none of us used it. I doubt it wouldve even been useable, seeing that the water pressure in the sink was quite low. And just to add one more thing, they were playing music outside until at least 1 AM. Weve learned our lesson in the future, do some extra research before booking!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Horrible horrible horrible experience. I came To Puerto Rico to attend a funeral and my flight arrived very latte 1a.m.From the outside it looked decent enough but my first indication of something wrong was the seats they have in front of the office which were stained and dirty. My next indication that something was wrong was the fact that they still use metal keys. Metal keys equal not very modern room. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt but as soon as I open the door the smell of mold was very strong. The safety of the door is super questionable. There is no extra lock and room 140 looks like they had to bust in the door a few times. The bathroom has mold and was not very clean. There is a sink inside of the bedroom instead of the bathroom . They have a super tiny TV very old-school I didn’t even bother turning it on. This place is an absolute dump, all false advertising. Whatever picture is being shown on Google and booking.com is not accurate at all the rooms are not updated at all. I could not get a taxi out of here so I had to spend a few hours here. I wonder who I can call to have this place inspected it’s a health hazard

PLEASE READ. Not as advertised… ABSOLUTELY NO WIFI IN ANY ROOMS, POOL AREA (only the office). The hotel looks like a twilight rundown version of any photos posted on the internet (dirty pool, rooms in disarray, ice machine not working, little hot water, etc etc. Stiff policies that benefit the hotel, and not the customer.Have stayed many many places around the world and via Booking.com, this is near the bottom of the barrel in every possible category.NOT WORTH YOUR TIME, MONEY, NOR ENERGYAnd lots of mosquitoes. If you sit in the common area, you are covered in bites. The two positives were the lady at the front desk, she was so sweet to try and accommodate, but the manager was really brash in not giving her much room to operate. Further, the room itself was mostly clean.

Its amazing. I had a great experience. The property that they offer their guest its cozy and beautiful. Its great for family and pet friendly too which is a must have in my family. They have a beach volleyball court and basketball court which i think is great. The food was also amazing and so was the beach. A big plus everything is reasonably prized which is also great especially if your traveling and dont have money to book an expensive hotel but dont want a cheep dirty motel either. I 10/10 recommend.

2nd attempt to write my review. These people werent prepared for us. Tub Mole and mildew, no wi fi, cable, microwave or fridge. Room 304 for four people only had 1 used toilet paper and only three towels. They not prepared for food service. So, there was no food. The bar kept changing price of the same drink. Particularly the female server. I let her know that. Pool not senior accommodation. It had a far too apart step making it difficult to get in and out.. We met other guest with same situation and complaints. My visit was 9/2 to 9/6/21. Im not able to post my bathroom pictures.

MISLEADING PICTURES!This places does not do the pictures justice. It looked like the area had been abandoned. There was no hot water or cable on the second day. The restaurant had very limited dishes to serve its clients and did not have a mini fridge, microwave, or phone in the room. We saw the housekeeper only once in the 5 days we stayed, and werent even brought new towels. I would give this place zero starts if I could.WORST THAN MOTEL 6!

Very disappointed, although the staff was friendly the place felt like it was about to be abandoned. The entrance felt creepy, the basketball court, seating areas were not well kept. The bar apparently doesnt open unless the place is at full capacity. The room smelled like a basement and the door to the bathroom was broken at the bottom. The toilet didnt have a strong flush, and the shower looked dingy. I couldnt connect ty o the wifi either. Overall I felt like I was at a motel (and not like a inn as most of us are used toinstead of a hotel. Oh and they keep the ice machine under lock and key so I had to go get the security guard to open it so I could get ice.

This place was good before not anymore. I was charged for 3 rooms without my consent after i made all corrections. It was a very large amount. Then i hadto wait 5 to 7 days for refund.horrible you have to call 100x a day to get help. Kitchen was closed all of a sudden. Tried breakfast 1 day it was not good. I dont know what has happened to this place. All the misunderstandings no one knew about anything.they just blamed someone else.. My expectations were much higher. They dont care about anything. The only one who helped was the night security guard he was the only one who did his job. Go somewhere else if you are looking for comfortability. This is good for last resort emergency. Other than that take your time and look elsewhere.

The place isnt close to the pictures or descriptions provided by the site. They are outdated, the pool was very, very dirty at the point that water was not clear. We needed to request to clean the bathroom because it was covered of mold and mildew. They did the cleaning, and it remained the same. The tv was old enough like the ones we used about 15-20 years ago. And last but not least, I paid in advance for 2 queen bed room, and when they did the check in and gave me the keys to go to the room, it was a 2 full bed bedroom. I went to request the room paid, and they said there were no rooms available for my tariff paid. So they cant do something at the moment. That I need to talk about it when doing check out so they can make a price adjustment. Was very disappointed and bad experience.

The hotel is terrible, it was way too pricey for what was offered. The blow dryer didn’t work and when we went to complain the only person running the hotel was the security guard. We stayed for two days and the manager didn’t show up once. They didn’t clean the room daily. There was no wifi and we had to log in with our Netflix account and use our hotspot if we wanted to watch something because there were almost no channels available. It looks absolutely NOTHING like the pictures. The beds were uncomfortable and there were no vending machines. I would not recommend staying here.

Poor experience lots of the areas look abandoned they do not enforce social distancing in pool area. The worst was restaurant it should only be listed as a bar since the owners keep changing the menu or they do not have food. I wasnt given the house cleaning card they do not have the crib option even if they are offering it so be prepared any how. The only reason it get’s an additional star was because of the Amazing customer service provided by Victoria through out my stay here. She went Above and Beyond Customer service and tried her best to make my stay as comfortable here as possible. A true gem and representation of how costumers should be treated here on the island. On to the bad stuff. The rooms are outdated the tv is from 1996 about 15 inches and set high by the ceiling.Making it very uncomfortable to watch from laying down. The beds are extremely poor quality are stiff and are not recommended for people who are pregnant or have back problems. Both the sink and bathtub are clogged and there is no water pressure along with leaks from the turn knob.If you are handicap or disabled the good luck because they dont enforce or honor handicap parking. Finally the pool was extremely small and over crowded for a “hotel with so many rooms you would think it be a little bigger. The beach is a 15-20 minute walk up and down hill around and out of the property. The hotel has potential just needs investment and more people like Victoria.

Wow where do i start ?Horrible and unpleasant nothing like the pictures or what i was expecting base on what was offer . No costumer service no manager on site to deal with complaint, questions or needs. When we complaint we were offer to move to another hotel our first choice was Fox but unfortunately they only had one room available (without hot water I might addand we needed two rooms since we had two reservations. We end it up the Melia not what we wan it but at this point anything was better then nothing. If it wasnt for Brian at the from desk at the Melia that went above and beyond to helps us and make things pleasant for us , we would have left we just disappointment and the lost of our money. Nothing that we were offer on our promo made sense , welcome drink what a joke a little bottle of Ponte Vecchio (so cheapto be share for 2 person with plastic cups really. Next day went to get paddle boards for our 1 hr use (part of the promojust to find out that there were not available for weekdays only weekends even thought our reservation was for weekday and it was part fo our package. Very misleading waste of money and time. Cant wait to get home to put my reviews online . So other people do not go through the same disappointment not fun to have your vacation mess up , with so many false advertisement. I thought that bringing my business and stay in a local hotel its was going to be enjoyable than going to a big chain hotel . This make local tourism looks very bad .

The good thing about are the staff, excellent. The rooms are comfortable, had iron board, iron, coffee maker with pods and cups and an excellent TV, but a really bad satellite service. The 3 days the pool was with leaves and other things. And on the last day, at morning, the cook or chef dont show to work, so there no breakfast and the places that you have to go for anything are about a mile and a half. So, first and last there

Employees very helpful and attentive, although they are very short staffed. Our stay had breakfast included, but with only 1 person taking orders and 1 cooking, we were told wed be getting our breakfast by noon. They gave us alternatives of places to go and offered to reimburse my breakfast tab. I chose not too, because everyone is already struggling with this pandemic. The pool and adjacent areas were nice. We didnt have issues with hot water except during the night, when it seemed everyone was showering after the pool. Didnt try the restaurant. Beds were comfy and AC good.

The hotel is struggling. Tv without service, wifi almost nonexistent, pool unattended as were the grounds. The restaurant was bare basic and the refreshments hot. People were kind but unable to help or resolve anything. Beach unattended and without chairs nor lounges, no shade!.There is a real mosquito problem, no citronella anywhere to aliviate.Yet, we had a great time, Ponce has a lot to offer, and you make the atmosphere! No hot water, no microwave nor fridge, no floor towels and towels were limited! The price is too high for the things it offers. Its a pity, the place has potential if only management gave it more TLC. The place needs to upgrade handicap access and facilities! Parking is not easy for entrance access. It is in dire needs of repairs!!!

I stayed here with my boyfriend and online it looks completely different then it does in person . The place is neglected the security is a bit questionable ! They hold 100$ on your card and I think that’s a scam . I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you live in Puerto Rico . It’s away from everything and you would need a car to get around their aren’t any vending machines available and the staff is scarce . Their are many many ! Mosquitos 🦟 near the pool and the room was like a motel . Their is t any available Restaurants and if you want to eat their is only one guy who serves food by the pool . He’s also the “DJ” . Sometimes you can here gum shots from afar and their was an earthquake when we stayed . The TVs do not have proper channeling . It’s basically a fend for yourself kind of place . I was afraid some gang group was going g to come and encase the property ! However, Me and my boy made the best of our stay but I will not EVER stay here again ! Please don’t book with them ! This place looks like it was constructed as a trendy miniresort for people going to the waterpark (now defunctnext door. It was once quite nice but neglect was evident in everything from the lights behind the name on the wall to the ripped cushions in the outdoor seating. The landscaping was well maintained but the buildings need some love. Breakfast (eggs, meat, potatoes, fruit, pastries, coffee & juicewas a nice added bonus and was a little different every day. The rooms were spartan and the towels smelled bad - not dirty, just stinky. There were almost no outlets in the rooms, just enough for the lamps that were plugged in.

This hotel is in the middle of an abondoned amusement park ans the only way you can go to the abondoned beach is trough a locked gate (you have to go underneath). The hotel looks amazing on the pictures and that was my first impression but thats it. Broken and dirty furniture all over the place, mosquitos at every shade. The AC in the room was exreamly noisy and it smeled horable, the coffee machine was not working and the light was poor. The reason I give them 2 stars is because the room was clean.Spend $30 and go to Holliday Inn across the street.

Bad experience, The place is not remodeled and is infested with mosquitoes everywhere, the rooms are in poor condition, in the first room they gave me the bed had no headboard, the desk chair was stained, the entrance door was detached from the floor, the bedding It was old and stained and the nightlights are fully rusted. After I complained about the facilities they looked for us another room in this one there were also mosquitoes, the TV was of the old models of those that use converter boxes, you could only watch 5 to 6 channels. The green areas are battered, the sidewalks cracked and filled with silt by the water that falls from the air conditioners. At the entrance you have to go through a tunnel which has a water accumulation of about half feet. I give only one star because I dont have the option of not giving anything. For what they charge per night you can stay in a better hotel or motel with better facilities.

If I could give this "hotel" zero starts I would. Our party consisted of 2 seniors, 2 adults and 3 small children traveling around Puerto Rico for 2 weeks. We wanted to see the whole island so we were booking hotels either same day or the day before depending on what city we happened to be in. Around the 4th of July we were near Ponce so we decided to stay at Solace by the Sea. I looked at their website and read their reviews which were decent so I booked two rooms for check in same day. When we arrived the place looked a bit worse for wear, but knowing hurricane Maria effected the island so heavily it did not concern me to much. During the check in process they told us that if we needed to keep anything refrigerated we could leave it with them and they pointed to a mini refrigerator behind the front desk. At that point it did not click that if i wanted a cold bottle of water in the middle of the night i would have had to leave a bottle at the front desk already and then walk 300 feet from the back of the hotel thru an open unlit walkway to get it. I was also taken aback when they handed me actual keys for our rooms not key cards. I thought it was a security concern since anyone could have made copies of these keys in the past and easily gone into our room while we were out for the day. As we walked towards our room we passed chair swings and patio furniture that were completely shredded, but still out for guest use. You could see all the yellow filling spilling out of it. We continued on to our rooms feeling more hesitant. We had 1 room on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd floor. Normally, it would not be a problem to walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor, when you have a bad knee and 3 young children its a hassle to haul 3 large suitcases up the stairs. When I arrived to my 2nd floor room it smelled like a heap of damp clothes that has been sitting around for days. The bathtub looked as if someone had taken a chisel to it. The tv had a total of 13 channels with only 2 that could actually be watched, the rest either had no sound, a loud humming sound or were scrambled. I went to check the room the rest of our party was staying on the 1st floor by the pool, if you could call it that. The pool was tiny and filthy it looked as if it hadnt been cleaned in weeks. The room on the 1st floor was just as bad and the room on the 2nd floor. We immediately went to the front desk and they offered us a different room on the 2nd floor, which was identical. The front desk told us they had no other rooms available. At this point I requested our reservations be cancelled because we would not be staying and they told us that we would still be charged for the stay since we would have need to cancel the reservation 48 hours to check in. I explained that the reservation was made the same day through their website and that I we had just checked in and they still said they could do nothing about it. I asked to speak to a manager and when she came out she told us the same thing. She even stated that because we signed the paperwork at check in we could do nothing about it. I explained to the manger everything with the rooms, the shredded patio furniture, the safety concern and all she did was offer us the "executive suite". To humor her we went to check out the suite and it smelled the same way, the tv still did not work and there were two golf ball size holes in the walls. Again I said we would not be staying and she was still adamant that the reservation would not be canceled and that we would be charged for it because that was there policy. Needless to say we left and ended up staying at the IHG 2 mins away.

My review of the HotelHeres are my points:-Starting first with the check-in. The lady that was at the desk was not nice at all, and she explained everything very fast. When I tried to ask something she put a angry face. The hotel needs to work with that.-The areas and the streets need to be more clean. They look very dirty and scary looking. If I wouldve come from another country (touristI would be scared of the streets and rhe entrance.-The room...all I can say is that it was cleaned and the a/c work really well.-Need to improve the way to the beach and the marketing of the hotel using the beach. When I was looking at the hotel it says it had access to the beach and thats a Lie, you have to go with you car to the beach...Second why the heck the beach closes at 6pm when all other hotels you can use the beach whenever.-The hotel needs remodeling ASAP. In my opinion it looks like a motel...and for the price the motel wouldve been more nice and relaxing.

The rooms need to be updated badly. They’re comfortable but extremely outdated. It had a motel vibe to it. The pool area is nice and clean, lots of mosquitoes present though. They also have a nice relaxing area with chair pods and a reflecting pool. The Wi-Fi is terrible. I could only get Wi-Fi in the bathroom and I had no service. The complementary breakfast is absolutely NOT worth it, even the coffee was tasteless. Staff is friendly.

No fridge, coffee pot or microwave in room. There was an ice bucket but no cups and if there was an ice machine I didnt see it. The mirror was cracked. There were small bugs, about the size of very small ants but they werent ants, that came out at night and climbed up and down the bathroom wall in straight lines. The bathroom door didnt shut. The closet door didnt shut. The tv had 2 channels that has a really loud buzzing, so loud you couldnt watch those 2 channels. The property in general needed updating, broken stepping stones, doors busted out on the bottom , etc. This property was probably really nice when it was new. Now its just run down. I stayed here for a week on vacation. I paid $163 a night. Where I come from in Oklahoma, something like this would go for maybe $50 to $80 a night. Think Motel 6. Way too expensive for what you get. Id never been to the island and it was literally a spur of the moment trip so I took what I could get. Id say it was adequate but disappointing for the price. Stay at the Holiday Inn on the other side of the highway. It looked way nicer and was cheaper but it was all booked when I was there.
