MoreFantastic fort with breath taking views great to take picnic and have on the top of the fort
MoreBeautiful small castle, it worth the time dor a short visit
Beautiful and well-preserved fortress. My 7 yo son loved exploring all the little rooms and checking out the artifacts. Great views and spot for photos. Loved the audio guide.
MoreGreat exhibition, not only a empty fortress.
Realy nice fortress to visit and learn some history
Great to visit and gain some knowledge of local area history.Steep steps to climb but worth every step
MoreInteresting and beautiful location .Not for those with mobility issues or vertigo !
MoreVery interesting medieval castle. The exhibition inside is interesting and shows items from the 13th to 16th century. The view from the castle is the best in the area and you get to see the lay of the land. Please note that there are many steps to climb to get to the top so this is not for people with walking problems.
MoreVery close to the border, this castle is cool. Many steps to climb, but very gooda idea of a medivial castle was. Nice view as well. Employees very nice. Small shop inside.
MorePricy enough place to visit, 70 kuna (10€), the highlight of the visit is George, a man on the side of the road, before you turn to access the parking castle. He will wave at you and you MUST stop. He sells very good quality olive oil and has 1 or 2 stories to tell.
MoreEveryone who coming to Dubrovnik need to go at Konavle region and see this beautiful place Sokol Town.
MoreGreat fort in very nice condition. There is a toilet, but not anything to eat or drink unfortunately (only water).
MoreCosy small fortress. Well-maintained with few micromuseum spots with a historical description. A great example of medieval time architecture.
MoreA big surprise at the south Croatia, literally! Well kept fortress which is a must see if you go to that part of the country.
MoreExcellent place to visit, especially off season
it is a bit out of the way, but worth a drive. A restored fortress with a stunning view from the top
MoreThis carefully restored and well kept medieval castle/fortress is definitely worth a visit if you happen to have a bit of extra time in the Dubrovnik region. The admission is quite pricey, but assuming the proceeds go towards maintenance of the place it is money well spent. And the views are just breathtaking.
MoreFascinating, well-preserved, easy access from Cavtat - must see if you hire a car. And download the app for great explanations. Lots of steps so you need good mobility.
MoreFabulous feat of engineering and construction. Exactly what an impregnable fortress is in my mind. A magnificent historical fortress well worth visiting. About 40 km south of Dubrovnik so an easy day trip. Some great restaurants nearby Konavoski Dvori
MoreBeautifully restored castle on a prominent hill, overlooking the valley and sea.Lots of information on the history and significance of the castle and grounds dating dating back to the Bronze Age.Public toilets and free parking. Modest entrance fee and an audio guide available.Worth the trip for this one
MoreNice place to visit, the castle was completely restored to its state from 15th century. Inside there are several exhibitions with items from different periods. Each exhibition has legend in Croatian and English. My respect to people who spent thair time to restore this place to its todays look 👍
MoreAmazing place to visit, beautiful views, very good reconstruction. I totally recommend to log into audio guide available with the ticket
MoreVery interesting and restored fort. This restored fort is worth a visit. Entrance is cheap (adults 70 Khuna. Kids 30 Khunaand the information in the different rooms are good and interesting. We used 1 hour to go around and read about the history and daily life in the fort and enjoying the stunning view.
MoreBautiful place. Have to visit! Working hours is bit different than on google cards.till 20.00
MoreNice historical place. If you are near Dubrovnik its a must to see !!
5 stars for the view and condition of the tower. It doesnt take long to get through it.
MoreExcellent!Must visit if you are near by. Very nice, little, old fortress, full of history. Very good setup and presentation.
MoreThis is really impressive. A visit is certainly worth it
Excellent experience on this fully restored fort above Konavle valley. Features extensive write up on the history of the valley and the fort. Stunning views all around.
MoreDid not expect such a place in this area, it is a medieval fortress (and olderthat has recently been restored and opened for visitors. Takes about 1 hour to see everything.
MoreVery interesting defensive fortress. Very steep and uneven done steps so not easy to access if you have a disability. Also very very expensive to be allowed to climb these steps! Having said all that - terrific views.
MoreWorth a visit (not more than 1 hour though). The fortress is in mint condition.
This place is awesome! Very cool fortification and beautiful view. I do recommend to visit this. In the tower is a nice little giftshop, nice toilets, interesting exhibitions and gruesome history.
MoreIts a proper medieval fortress, almost complete with dragon eggs and stuff. Seriously, very nice and well preserved and well worth the money and the climb. Plenty of recreated rooms like kitchen, blacksmith etc. Worthless gift shop (of course), no coffee shop or restaurants or other distractions. Very clean restrooms though. Costs 70 for adults and 30 for kids. Lasts about 30-45 minutes unless youre into reading about arrow heads and stuff.
MoreA small and relatively sparse keep, this is nevertheless excellently preserved, documented and presented. Anyone interested in history or architecture are strongly advised to visit Sokol Castle. Entry was about 9€ per person, well worth it.
MoreVery well presented, with many artefacts. The collection is well-curated and the narratives are written in good English. No narratives in languages apart from Croatian and English. Also many good opportunities for interesting photographs.
MoreShort stop. Tricky steps and not a lot to see in the fort. However, the valley view is incredible.
MoreIts a well preserved fortress, in side you have museum with lots of historical objects. There is also caffe or a restaurant but it wasnt open (it was January)
MoreVisited as part of a tour. Our tour guide gave a very good background history on the significance of the castle to Croatias tumultuous past. There are al lot displays and dioramas showing the castles past inhabitants and gives a very good picture as to how they lived during those times. There were not a lot of people when we got there. Pretty much had the place to ourselves. Steps are very steep and irregular in places. Can be a challenge but worth the extra exercise to get to the viewing deck as the countryside views are breathtaking. There is a snack bar in the premises and free WC facilities at the entrance.
MoreBeautiful place to see with an amazing view over the valley! When you are a student, take your studentcard with you for some discount:)
MoreHidden (relativelygem. Before you leave Dubrovnic Airport, turn LEFT! Go find this castle, its not far and awesome. Theres some lovely cafés on the road to the castle too. After that, go back past the airport and on to the rest of your break.
MoreBeautifully restored fort with plenty of information. Nice area away from the over crowded bigger cities with great local restaurants nearby.
MoreNice old castle, well restored. Gives a good impression of the life in the old ages during hard times. There is a little cafe within the castle (however, we didn’t try it out). Worth the drive if you are in the area.
MoreIf your into history and exploring this is a great place. Very high up with amazing view of the vally. The almost constant rulings of thunder from over the mountains adds to the effect. They have lots of artifacts here including arrow heads, weapons and armor. Wouldnt recommend if you have vertigo or a general fear of heights.Small shop just at bottom of the road with light refreshments available.
MoreA classic. Excellent condition and well worth the visit. 20 min. Off the highway.
MoreGreat view. Nicely renovated fortress.
Great place, old castle, old church nearby... 50 meter before, you can buy homemade olive oil and wine. The sea is near, beautiful Cavtat.
MoreBeautiful castle, not that big but nicely renovated, a lot of hystorical findings to see, but the view is great.
MoreBest thing you can visit while in Dubrovnik area! Beautiful view, really great renovation works, lots of information in the audio guide. No other people when we were visiting (~5 oclock)
